Islamic Insanity > 'Moderate' Iraq seems to be turning more radically Islam; Gays will get 10-15 years in prison in Iraq, Trans up to 3

Iraq: TikTok star who had been sentenced to prison

for ‘violating public decency and morals’

shot dead in Baghdad

Was she murdered for violating Sharia norms regarding how women are to dress? The possibility cannot be ruled out, but the Western media is so avid to bury stories that make Islam look bad that we will likely never hear about it if it turns out to be the case.

Iraqi TikTok star Umm Fahad shot dead in Baghdad

by Aqeel Najim, Nechirvan Mando and Duarte Mendonca, CNN, April 27, 2024:

Iraqi social media star Ghufran Sawadi, better known as Umm Fahad, was shot dead outside her home in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, on Friday night, a Baghdad police source told CNN.

The attack took place in the Zayouna area east of Baghdad, and was captured on video by a surveillance camera and shared on social media. The video shows a gunman riding a motorcycle shooting and killing Sawadi on the spot. A Baghdad police source confirmed the authenticity of the video to CNN.

The country’s Interior Minister announced on Friday that it was “forming a specialized work team to find out the circumstances of the killing of a woman known on social media by unknown assailants.”

Sawadi was popular on TikTok, where she shared videos of herself dancing to pop music in form-fitting clothes. In the past, these videos were deemed inappropriate by Iraq’s judiciary. Sawadi was sentenced to six months in prison for “the crime of producing and publishing several films and videos containing obscene and indecent language, violating public decency and morals,” an Iraqi judiciary statement said.

Other Iraqi social media personalities have previously been targeted in deadly attacks….

It sounds like Iran! Is Iraq drawing closer to strict Sharia Law? Sin is progressive!

Moderate Iraq makes same-sex relations

punishable by up to 15 years in prison

Moderate? Absolutely. A hadith depicts Muhammad specifying the punishment for homosexual activity: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.’” (Sunan Abu Dawud 4462)

Muhammad is not described as saying anything about ten to fifteen years in prison. That’s why Iraq is moderate.

Iraq makes same-sex relations punishable by up to 15 years in jail

Agence France-Presse, April 27, 2024:

Iraq’s parliament has passed a bill making same-sex relations punishable by up to 15 years in prison, in a move condemned as an “attack on human rights”.

Transgender people will also be sentenced to three years in jail under the amendments to a 1988 anti-prostitution law, which were adopted during a session attended by 170 out of 329 lawmakers on Saturday.

All these things are legal in western society but very much forbidden in Islam. In western society under the influence of Christianity, they are discouraged but not outlawed, except for children in some sane countries.

America's universities are now full of fools who are almost entirely very liberal, and yet they prefer Islam where liberalism is forbidden, even to the point of murder and torture, than Christianity where they are free to practice all sorts of perversion.

A previous draft had proposed capital punishment for same-sex relations, in what campaigners had called a “dangerous” escalation. The new amendments enable courts to sentence people to between 10 and 15 years in prison, according to the document seen by AFP, in a country where gay and transgender people already face frequent attacks and discrimination.

They also set a minimum seven-year prison term for “promoting” same-sex relations and a sentence ranging from one to three years for men who “intentionally” act like women.

The amended law makes “biological sex change based on personal desire and inclination” a crime and punishes trans people and doctors who perform gender reassignment surgery with up to three years in prison.

Homosexuality is taboo in Iraq’s conservative society, but there had not previously been a law that explicitly punished same-sex relations. Members of Iraq’s LGBTQ+ community have been prosecuted for sodomy or under vague morality and anti-prostitution clauses in Iraq’s penal code.

“Iraq has effectively codified in law the discrimination and violence members of the LGBTI community have been subjected to with absolute impunity for years,” said Amnesty International’s Iraq researcher, Razaw Salihy….
