Covid-19 > Sudden Deaths of Young Canadian Doctors not Causing enough Alarm

Alberta Doctor Calls on Medical Association to Investigate

‘Sudden Deaths’ of ’80 Young Doctors’

An Alberta doctor is calling on the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) to look into what he says is a significant jump in doctors’ “sudden deaths” following the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines beginning in December 2020.

“I am now providing you an update with information about 80 young Canadian doctors who died suddenly or unexpectedly since the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines,” wrote Dr. William Makis, a nuclear medicine physician and a former clinical academic colleague at the Department of Radiology at the University of Alberta, in a letter to CMA on Oct. 15.

“Four more doctors have died since my previous letter, and these unexpected deaths are accelerating. You cannot continue to ignore this.”

Makis has been speaking out about the “sudden and unexpected deaths” of young doctors who were “double, triple, or quadruple COVID-19 vaccinated” through letters, social media platform Gettr, and interviews.

Makis had sent a previous letter to the CMA on the subject, which, he said in his Oct. 15 letter, wasn’t responded to.

“These previously healthy doctors died suddenly while engaging in regular physical activity, died unexpectedly in their sleep, suffered heart attacks, strokes, unusual accidents, or developed sudden onset aggressive cancers,” said the Sept. 3 letter, referring to 32 cases of young doctors who passed away, which Makis tallied at the time.

He called for the termination of all COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the public health care sector, and also called for urgent investigations and public inquiries to ascertain the cause of the death of those doctors.

In his latest letter, Makis said his team has assembled a database of 1,638 cases of Canadian doctor deaths during the period of 2019–2022, with 972 of them obtained from CMA’s website.

“Our preliminary analysis of this extensive data suggests that Canadian doctor deaths under age 50 in 2022 will be 2-fold higher compared to the 2019–2020 average,” Makis wrote, adding that cases under age 40 and 30 are five-fold and eight-fold higher, respectively.

‘Misinformation and Conspiracy Theories’

In response to Makis’s letter, the CMA told The Epoch Times in an emailed statement on Oct. 17 that the association is concerned with “misinformation and conspiracy theories” spreading online about the recent deaths of physicians across Canada.

“There is no evidence to confirm or support the various theories that have been circulated. Some of the theories appear to rely on the CMA’s InMemoriam service as evidence,” said spokesperson Eric Lewis.

Isn't that a contradiction of terms?

“The InMemoriam service is offered to CMA members so they can keep track of their colleagues and recognize their passings over time. It is provided based on information sent to the CMA and should never be viewed as an exhaustive list of physicians’ deaths or as evidence to support conspiracies surrounding the COVID-19 vaccines or other issues.

“The CMA continues to encourage all Canadians to be up to date with all their vaccines to prevent serious health issues,” Lewis added.

Data Crawl

The Epoch Times requested Makis to provide his data and analysis, to which he replied in an email on Oct. 17 that he will only release the database to the provincial governments. But he added that he can explain how his team obtained the data and derived the 80 “sudden deaths” from the 1,638 cases of doctor deaths.

Makis said the 972 cases from the CMA’s website were obtained using a wayback machine that helped the team to crawl data from the archives of the “InMemoriam” page, as many entries have been deleted and are no longer available for “Canadians to look at and compare.”

The other 666 cases, he said, were obtained from various official medical sources including the websites of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, provincial medical associations, provincial colleges of physicians and surgeons, university medical school websites, and university medical school alumni associations.

“These 1,638 were then cross-referenced to publicly available obituaries to obtain any additional information. Note was made of deaths being ‘unexpected’ or ‘sudden,’” he said.

When he analyzed the data of doctors under 70 years old, he said a total of 80 had died “suddenly” or “unexpectedly,” and another 60 had prior medical conditions such as “cancer diagnosed prior to vaccine rollout, ALS, Parkinson’s or Dementia, or another long-term illness, or had retired years before the pandemic.”

“That’s where the number 80 comes from. The additional 60 who died and had prior medical conditions, are separate from the 80. While mRNA may have contributed to their deaths, they were excluded for having prior medical illness,” he said.

In addition, he shared his analysis of the death rate of different age groups, starting with all doctors under age 50, who he found “died at almost twice the rate in 2021 (and will be the same in 2022) compared to 2019 and 2020.”

“All doctors under age 40 died at a rate 5-fold higher in 2022 compared to 2019, or 2020 (the average for the 2019/2020 period is 1.5 deaths/year, in 2022 there were 8 deaths so far, so > 5-fold),” he said.

“All doctors under age 30 died at a rate 8-fold higher in 2022 compared to 2019, or 2020 (the average for the 2019/2020 period is 0.5 deaths/year, in 2022 there were 4 deaths so far, so 8-fold).

‘No Autopsies Done’

In July and August, The Associated Press and Reuters respectively reported that the cases of three doctors from Trillium Health Partners-Mississauga Hospital who “DIED suddenly in 1 week, apparently after getting latest mandated booster” that were shared on social media, were unrelated to COVID-19 vaccines, based on their fact-checking.

The three doctors—Dr. Jakub Sawicki, Dr. Stephen McKenzie, and Dr. Lorne Segall—are listed among the 80 doctors.

Makis countered that no autopsies were done on the three doctors.

“Two of them had developed aggressive cancer only after receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The fact check only repeated a baseless statement that was made by the Hospital at which the doctors worked,” he said in his email.

“The hospital made this baseless claim that their deaths were ‘not related to the COVID vaccine’ but had no evidence or information to back up this claim as autopsies were not done.”

A spokesperson at Trillium Health declined to provide details of the causes of the deaths, citing the need to protect the health information of the deceased, when requested by The Epoch Times in late July.

War on Christianity > Antifa Attacks Church Meeting in Portland Park; Two Wins for the Christian Side

..
The Great Tribulation, which is rapidly approaching, will see the world turn violently against Christians as it did against Jews leading up to the Holocaust. Lead by the far-left, this is already happening, and, as we have observed over the past few decades, what is far-left ideology becomes mainstream in a remarkably short period of time.

left-wingers claim violent ambush broke up ‘far-right rally’

A black-clad Antifa mob hurled projectiles and destroyed equipment at what appeared to be a peaceful event in Portland, Oregon, prompting a right v left fracas on social media about the ambushed gathering’s true purpose.

A “prayer event” held at a park in downtown Portland on Saturday was attacked by a group of left-wing activists who threw objects at attendees and assaulted them with pepper spray, the conservative Post Millennial reported.

Organizers announced the event last month, saying it would feature controversial Canadian preacher Artur Pawlowski. The Calgary pastor has made headlines for his vocal opposition and resistance to lockdown measures that have shuttered churches in the Canadian city.

Footage taken at the event shows black-clad Antifa members throwing projectiles at the event’s attendees, as some of the masked activists shouted “No hate speech.”

Right! Throwing rocks is much better than reading the Bible or praying to God!

“They threw a bomb already. We’ve got kids here,” the narrator of the video says.

The activists eventually march up to the stage. One Antifa member takes the microphone, announcing: “All cops are bastards. In the name of Jesus, Amen.” The group of left-wingers then kick and destroy the sound equipment. One black-clad individual can be seen carrying a speaker to the nearby Willamette River, apparently so that they could toss it into the water.

A woman who attended the event later said on camera that the activists had thrown a “flash bomb into a group of kids,” some as young as four months old.

“We were about to have a worship event and Antifa just rolled in like an angry mob and started throwing flash bombs at everybody, macing everybody,” she said.

The incident reportedly did not result in any arrests.

While the violence elicited disgust and outrage among conservative pundits, many came to Antifa’s defense, insisting that the event was nefarious.

A Portland minister responded to reports about the attack by insisting that the gathering was a “far-right political rally organized by a failed MAGA congressional candidate from CA.”

One Twitter user said that she rode her bike to the part and saw “gun-toting Proud Boys running security for this prayer service.”

Right! Watch the video and show me where there is one Proud Boy, armed or otherwise. There weren't even any police. Far-lefties feel no obligation to tell the truth.

Footage appears to show members of the right-wing group sporting paintball guns near the event’s location, but it doesn’t appear that they were present when Antifa attacked the gathering. Another video, purportedly taken on the same day, shows the group skirmishing with Antifa in downtown Portland. A police officer can be seen observing the mini-battle, but doesn’t intervene.

Antifa has been linked to months of unrest in the city following the killing of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police in May 2020.

And a win for the Good-Guys...

Christian Doctors Beat Biden in Court: Won't Be Forced

to Perform Abortions, Transgender Surgery

Tuesday, August 10, 2021

On Monday, a federal judge handed religious liberty advocates a major win by ruling that the Biden administration cannot force Christian doctors and religious hospitals to perform abortions or gender transition procedures under Obamacare.

The case involves a portion (Section 1557) of the Affordable Care Act that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. The Obama administration interpreted Section 1557 as also prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, although the Trump administration reversed that policy and said it interpreted it as referencing "male or female and as determined by biology."
In May of this year, the Biden administration reverted to the Obama policy, with the Department of Health and Human Services saying it would interpret Obamacare as banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

The various interpretations impact what doctors and hospitals are required to do under federal law.

A coalition of religious and Christian doctors and hospitals filed suit in 2016 and have won several rounds in court, although the latest federal court ruling, handed down Monday, is the first one that addressed the Biden administration's new interpretation.

Federal Judge Reed O'Connor, in a 23-page decision, ruled the Biden administration's rules "substantially burdens Christian Plaintiffs' religious exercise in clear violation of" the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a 1993 law.

"Enforcement of the 2021 Interpretation" by the Biden administration "forces Christian Plaintiffs to face civil penalties or to perform gender-transition procedures and abortions contrary to their religious beliefs," O'Connor wrote. He was nominated by President George W. Bush.

Do you really want a doctor who is dead-set against transgenderism to be operating on your sexual organs?

O'Connor's decision "permanently" prohibits HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and his successors from "interpreting or enforcing Section 1557" in a manner that would require the plaintiffs to "perform or provide insurance coverage for gender-transition procedures or abortions.

Luke Goodrich, vice president and senior counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, called the decision a "victory for compassion, conscience, and common sense."

"No doctor should be forced to perform controversial, medically unsupported procedures that are contrary to their conscience and could be deeply harmful to their patients," Goodrich said in a statement. "These religious doctors and hospitals provide top-notch medical care to all patients for everything from cancer to the common cold. Everyone benefits when doctors are able to follow their professional medical judgment and their Hippocratic Oath to 'Do No Harm.'"

Manitoba medical student expelled over 'pro-gun and pro-life'

Rafael Zaki said he was expelled for his conscientious and religious beliefs.

The judge said the university appeared biased in its decision

A Manitoba medical student who was expelled after failing to satisfactorily apologize for his controversial views on guns and abortion has been granted a new adjudication of his expulsion.

Rafael Zaki, a Coptic Orthodox student at the University of Manitoba who was supposed to graduate in 2022, posted three items on his Facebook page in February 2019. He was expelled in August 2019.

One year later, after losing two appeals within the university system, Zaki asked Manitoba’s Court of Queen’s Bench to review the decision made by the University Discipline Committee. Zaki said he was expelled “for holding conscientious and religious beliefs that abortion is harmful.”

The university, meanwhile, said that it must ensure professional behaviour and attitudes in order for its students to become doctors, and that Zaki was expelled for failing to reach that standard “even after numerous attempts … to assist (him) in remediating his conduct.”

"Remediating his conduct!" That's what they call 'brainwashing' in China.

Ken Champagne, the provincial judge in the case, found that there was a perception of bias and the university discipline system had failed to consider Zaki’s Charter rights to freedom of expression.

“The decision is quashed,” Champagne wrote, calling it “incorrect and unreasonable.”

Carol Crosson, Zaki’s lawyer, said the family had emigrated from Egypt because of concerns over freedom of religion.

“They came here to find freedom, and then their son went through this at the university,” Crosson said. “I’m very happy for the family that the trek to freedom has been positive in the final result.”

Drug Company Founder Convicted of Bribing Doctors with Money, Strippers to Sell More Fentanyl

Corruption is Everywhere - Certainly in Big Pharma

Case exposed kick-backs in the millions, lap dances as incentives

A pharmaceutical company founder accused of paying doctors millions of dollars in bribes to prescribe a highly addictive fentanyl spray was convicted Thursday in a case that exposed such marketing tactics as using a stripper-turned-sales-rep to give a physician a lap dance.

John Kapoor, the 76-year-old former chairman of Insys Therapeutics, was found guilty of racketeering conspiracy after 15 days of jury deliberations. Four former employees of the Arizona-based company, including the former exotic dancer, were also convicted.

Some of the most sensational evidence in the months-long federal trial included a video of employees dancing and rapping around an executive dressed as a giant bottle of the powerful spray Subsys, and testimony about how the company made a habit of hiring attractive women as sales representatives.

Federal prosecutors portrayed the case as part of the government's effort to go after those it views as responsible for fuelling the nation's deadly opioid crisis.

"This is a landmark prosecution that vindicated the public's interest in staunching the flow of opioids into our homes and streets," Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said in a statement.

The convictions could embolden federal authorities to bring more cases against top executives of opioid manufactures, said Andrew Kolodny, co-director of opioid policy research at Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management.

"Paying a fine or even civil litigation is inadequate if we want to deter corporations from killing people in their pursuit of profit," Kolodny said.

Opioid overdoses claimed nearly 400,000 lives in the U.S. between 1999 and 2017, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. An estimated 2 million people are addicted to the drugs, which include both prescription painkillers such as OxyContin and illegal drugs such as heroin.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says there were more than 10,300 deaths in Canada from apparent opioid-related overdose between January 2016 and September 2018.

Kapoor and the others were accused of scheming to bribe doctors across the U.S. to boost sales of Subsys and misleading insurers to get payment approved for the drug, which is meant for cancer patients in severe pain and can cost as much as $19,000 US a month, according to prosecutors. The bribes were paid in the form of fees for sham speaking engagements that were billed as educational opportunities for other doctors.

The charges carry up to 20 years in prison.

"We will continue the fight to clear Dr. Kapoor's name," defence attorney Beth Wilkinson said in a statement. She said the long deliberations prove it was "far from an open-and-shut case."

A former sales representative testified that regional sales manager Sunrise Lee once gave a lap dance at a Chicago nightclub to a doctor whom Insys was pushing to write more prescriptions. Lee's lawyer said she will challenge the verdict.

Jurors also watched the rap video, which was shown at a national meeting in 2015 to motivate sales reps to push doctors to prescribe higher doses of the drug. At the end of the video, the person dressed up as the bottle takes off his costume and is revealed to be then-vice president of sales, Alec Burlakoff.

Burlakoff pleaded guilty and testified against Kapoor. Burlakoff told the jury that he met Lee at the strip club where she worked and recruited her to join the company despite her lack of pharmaceutical industry experience because he believed she would be willing to help carry out the plan to pay off doctors.

A former CEO of the company, Michael Babich, also pleaded guilty and testified against his colleagues. He said Insys recruited sales reps who were "easy on the eyes" because doctors didn't want an "unattractive person to walk in their door."

Kapoor's attorney sought to shift the blame onto Burlakoff, who she said was cutting side deals with doctors. Wilkinson argued that Burlakoff and Babich were lying about Kapoor in an attempt to save themselves.

Kapoor's lawyers also argued that prosecutors were unfairly blaming Insys for fuelling the drug crisis, noting that the drug makes up a tiny fraction of the prescription opioid market.

Several doctors have been convicted in other cases of participating in a kickback scheme. A number of states have sued the Insys, which also agreed last year to pay $150 million US to settle a federal investigation into inappropriate sales.

Insys said in an emailed statement that the "the actions of a select few former employees" are not indicative of the company's work today.

‘System is Broken’: Medical Researchers Still Routinely Hiding Funding from Big Pharma

©  REUTERS/Srdjan Zivulovic

A huge proportion of scientists and doctors publishing in major medical magazines continue to conceal ties to corporations relevant to their research, while punishment for not declaring interests remains weak, says a new report.

“The system is broken,” Mehraneh Dorna Jafari, assistant professor of surgery at the University of California, Irvine, told the New York Times and ProPublica, an investigative journalism non-profit.

Jafari was one of the authors of a landmark study published back in August that took the names of the 100 doctors receiving the most funding from medical equipment and drug manufacturers, and then studied whether they declared a potential conflict of interest in their published research. Only 37 did.

For example, Dr. Howard A. Burris III, has been elected as the president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) that includes 40,000 members, and can make influential recommendations on cancer drugs worth tens of billions of dollars.

Companies where Burris is an employee have been paid $114,000 in speaking fees, and $8 million in research funding by private corporations. Yet in none of his last 50 articles did the man, whose bio boasts that he “was selected by his peers as a ‘Giant of Cancer Care’ for his achievements in drug development,” think it was necessary to declare any potential biases resulting from corporate involvement.

In the latest investigation, the Times and ProPublica revealed that Dr. Robert J. Alpern, the dean of the Yale School of Medicine, writing about an experimental kidney disease drug failed to state that he was on the board of the company producing it.

When journalists approached the publisher of the article, the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, its editor discovered that all 12 authors of the article in question had interests they failed to declare.

“They really are falsifying the information that others rely on to assess that research,” said Dr. Jeffrey R. Botkin, an associate vice president for research at the University of Utah. “Money is a very powerful influencer, and people’s opinions become subtly biased by that financial relationship.”

Botkin has written an article suggesting that those violating the rules on disclosure should be charged with academic misconduct, thus risking their career and reputation.

But legal rules have already been tightened up over the disclosure of payments from corporations to doctors, while journals have threatened lengthy bans for violators, and online databases have made it easier to discover potential conflicts of interest within minutes – as the authors of the report were able to.

The more fundamental problem appears to be the symbiotic relationship between doctors, scientific magazines, and medical corporations. All need each other, but it is the money from the latter that allows the other two to survive. The setup relies on the intellectual integrity of all the parties involved, as no one on the inside has incentives to police themselves, and there is no powerful independent monitor scanning through every article and doling out bans and financial sanctions.

War on Christianity and Common Sense, in Conservative England

UK Government drops doctor who says
gender given at birth

he was technically sacked from working Department  for Work and Pensions CREDIT: ANDREW FOX

A doctor has been “sacked” as a medical assessor for a government department after refusing to renounce his Christian belief that gender is determined at birth, the Sunday Telegraph can reveal.

Dr David Mackereth has worked for 26 years as an NHS doctor but was told he could not be employed as a Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) disability assessor if he refused to identify patients as being of a sex that they did not see themselves as.

The 55-year-old father of four believes sex is genetic and biological, so established at birth.

Genetic and biological - in other words, scientific!

He now claims his right to freedom of speech has been denied and he has been classed “unfit” to work for the department because of his religious convictions.

And, the medic from Dudley in the West Midlands fears many other professional people of faith could also be dismissed simply for holding opinions about gender that are “centuries old”.

Dr Mackereth, who registered as a doctor in 1989 and spent most of his career working in Accident & Emergency wards, said: “I’m not attacking the transgender movement. But, I’m defending my right to freedom of speech, and freedom of belief.

“I don’t believe I should be compelled to use a specific pronoun. I am not setting out to upset anyone. But, if upsetting someone can lead to doctors being sacked then, as a society we have to examine where we are going.”

Dr Mackereth, a Reformed Baptist, started a training course in May to become a health and disability assessor for the DWP. His role would have meant interviewing and then writing independent reports about the health of those claiming disability benefits.

However, when his instructor stated that reports must only refer to the patient - or “client” - by the sex that person identified themselves as, a discussion took place among the medics about the “fluid” nature of gender, Dr Mackereth claims.

“I said that I had a problem with this. I believe that gender is defined by biology and genetics. And that as a Christian the Bible teaches us that God made humans male or female. I could have kept my mouth shut. But, it was the right time to raise it.

“The tutor took me aside and said he had passed my comments up the chain to the DWP.”

Dr Mackereth then received an email from Advanced Personnel Management (APM), the agency that employed him and would have hired him out to the DWP.

Stephen Crabb, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions CREDIT: LNP/REX/SHUTTERSTOCK

They explained he could undergo training about the department’s policy, but the DWP had consulted lawyers and was adamant that any report or contact with clients should refer to them in their chosen sex otherwise it “could be considered to be harassment as defined by the 2010 Equality Act”.

The doctor replied that “in good conscience” he could not conform to those demands, and so the contract was terminated between them.

He said: “Firstly, we are not allowed to say what we believe. Secondly, as my case shows, we are not allowed to think what we believe. Finally, we are not allowed to defend what we believe.

“By stating what has been believed by mankind for centuries - namely that gender and sex are determined at birth - you can come under ferocious attack.

“If we are no longer allowed to say that you believe sex and gender are the same and are determined at birth, everyone who holds my views can be sacked on the spot under this Act. I’m not an isolated case.”

A DWP spokeswoman said the Equality Act states that it is unlawful to discriminate directly or indirectly against a person on grounds of a “protected characteristic”, such as gender reassignment.

She added: “Dr Mackereth made it clear during his training that he would refuse to use pronouns which did not match his own view of a person’s biological gender.

"His own view"??? Doctors have determined the sex of babies for hundreds, if not thousands of years, now, suddenly, are not qualified to determine what seems absurdly obvious. What an insane world we've become.

“We expect all assessors to handle assessments sensitively and adhere to the Equality Act 2010.”

APM declined to comment.

Doctors Group: Trudeau is Making Canada a ‘Totalitarian State’

War on Christianity - State Attack on Christian Doctors in Canada

NEWFOUNDLAND, (LifeSiteNews)An international doctors’ group has asked Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to stop persecuting doctors for their religious beliefs.

Trudeau’s policies are transforming Canada into a “totalitarian state” and corrupting the integrity of its medical profession, MaterCare International executive director Dr. Robert Walley told the prime minister in a June 8 open letter.

The Newfoundland-based MaterCare is an international association of obstetricians and gynaecologists working to improve maternal health in developing countries, presently in Kenya.

Walley's letter castigated Trudeau for his “overbearing attitude against religious people and their employment in our country.”

And it urged the prime minister to “end the discrimination of religious people and support equality in the workforce” in Canada.

“We want Trudeau to lift the lid on this pressure cooker he has created around our profession,” Walley elaborated in an email to LifeSiteNews.

“We are asking that he, at the very minimum, not actively pursue and persecute people who have religious beliefs and live them.”

Walley told Trudeau in his letter that the prime minister’s “dictatorial policies” have led to active discrimination against doctors who believe in the sanctity of human life.

“Medical students, residents, and physicians have begun to experience discrimination through denial of their right to practice according to their consciences if they do not accept your government’s dictatorial policies,” he wrote.

As a consequence, “fewer young doctors are entering certain specialties and others sadly compromise their moral integrity in order to sustain their careers,” wrote Walley.

“The covenant relationship that used to exist between doctor and patient, second only to religious advisors, is being corrupted such that doctors are now becoming simply technicians with contractual agreements as service providers.”

And Trudeau is responsible for this state of affairs, having “created a climate in this country that encourages discrimination of those with open religious beliefs,” Walley told LifeSiteNews.

Canada is “quickly becoming, ethically and morally, a totalitarian state, created in the image of Justin Trudeau,” he contended.

The prime minister has also “transformed the Liberal Party into something of a hate group that deliberately targets, among other faiths, the practice of Christianity,” added Walley.

That began with Trudeau’s 2014 edict as Liberal leader that all party candidates must support abortion. It continued with the Liberal policy denying Canada Summer Job funding to groups that refused to sign an attestation supporting abortion, as well as gender ideology.

“Organizations across the country are following his lead, coercing professionals to cooperate with his ideals and, in essence, renounce their faith or fear loss of their livelihood,” Walley told LifeSiteNews.

Notably, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) issued a policy requiring physicians and surgeons make “effective” referrals to an accessible colleague willing to do the act “when their consciences will not allow them to cooperate with a particular procedure or treatment.”

A group of Christian doctors challenged the CPSO policy, but Ontario Superior Court upheld it, ruling that although the policy infringed Charter rights, it was justified to allow equal access to healthcare “services.” The doctors’ groups are appealing the ruling.

“Healthcare workers will either become initiated into this climate through the process of gradualization, or they will leave to find somewhere where they can practice their faith and medicine freely. Healthcare will lose its credibility among patients,” Walley observed.

“Justin Trudeau is trying to change our profession, which he knows little or nothing about, including the practice of abortion. He simply has no legitimate authority to speak to these issues,” Walley told LifeSiteNews.

“It is a profession that some feel called to take on because they want to help people and save lives.”

Chief Investigator Names Police and Municipal Clerks as Most ‘Corruption Prone’ Professions in Russia

But also investigated anti-corruption officials for corruption

Corruption is Everywhere - Certainly in Russia

© Global Look Press

The head of the Russian Investigative Committee has revealed the latest statistics on corruption crime, which show that most cases involve law-enforcement agents, military servicemen, municipal clerks, teachers and doctors.

“Representatives of law-enforcement agencies, officials from municipal bodies and enterprises, people working in the spheres of education and healthcare, and also the military,” said Aleksandr Bastrykin, listing the professions most often involved in cases of corruption.

In an interview with Rossiiskaya Gazeta, the chairman of Russian federal agency that deals with high-profile crimes said that there were currently more than 7,000 people facing corruption charges. Of these, 845 worked for the Interior Ministry, 571 occupied posts in state and municipal bodies, 490 were military servicemen, 227 worked in science and education, and 221 worked in healthcare.

“Another 400 suspects are people to whom we had to apply a special mode of criminal trial. These used to work as prosecutors, judges, investigators, legal attorneys and the like. Some of them are quite senior officials, I don’t think that it makes sense to name them all, as we know their names from mass media,” Bastrykin added.

Corrupt anti-corruption officials

Russia was hit by several major corruption scandals in 2016. Among them was the arrest of Economy Minister Aleksey Ulyukayev on suspicion of taking a $2-million bribe from the CEO of the state-owned oil giant Rosneft. Also in 2016, investigators detained several top officials from the anti-corruption directorate of the Interior Ministry, following an incident in which they found over $122 million in cash in an apartment linked to one of the officials.

No reference here to the systemic doping scandal that got Russia kicked out of the next Olympic Games. It is both hopeful and alarming that 7,000 people have been charged and that some are even senior officials. But the corruption at the highest levels of Russian society and government is not likely to be cleaned up in my lifetime.

Is this a consequence of 70 years of godless communism, or was there this much corruption before the revolution?

Belgian Catholic Nursing Home has No Right to Refuse Euthanasia

Slippery slope for Christians when it comes to euthanasia
Conscientious objection gives way to godless ideology

Andy Walton CHRISTIAN TODAY CONTRIBUTING WRITER

Reuters

A Catholic nursing home in Belgium is reported to have fallen foul of the country's courts after refusing to permit a resident to access euthanasia.

The incident happened in 2011 when Huize Sint-Augustinus home in Diest refused to allow an elderly woman's doctor access to see her – when it was thought she was about to be given a lethal injection.

The home has been ordered to pay €6,000 (approx $6,600 or £5,000) in damaged to the family of the woman.

The civil court in Louvain ruled that "the nursing home did not have the right to refuse euthanasia on the grounds of conscientious objection."

In this case, the 74-year-old who had terminal cancer received the injection in her own house, rather than in the nursing home.

Euthanasia has been legal in Belgium since 2002 and the country is said to have the most liberal assisted suicide laws anywhere in the world. Belgium is held up as an example by campaigners on both sides of the debate over assisted suicide in the UK, US and elsewhere.

Local Archbishop Jozef De Kesel, of the diocese of Mechelen-Brussels, had previously said Catholic institutions have a right to refuse abortion and euthanasia.

Trudeau Votes Against Conscience Rights as He Pushes Euthanasia Bill

Featured Image

OTTAWA, (LifeSiteNews) – The Liberals and New Democrats combined to defeat a Conservative-supported motion protecting the conscience rights of doctors and other health professionals who refuse to participate in euthanasia and assisted suicide. Hope now centres on the Senate for amendments to the government’s proposed law for protection for medical professions and patients.

On Tuesday the House of Commons divided almost entirely on party lines to defeat a motion from Tory MP Arnold Viersen defending conscience rights by a 214 to 96 vote margin. Every Conservative who voted supported the motion and every Bloc Quebecois and Liberal MP who voted, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, opposed it. Five NDP members supported it as did Green MP and leader Elizabeth May.

The motion was a way to put the government on the record either supporting or opposing conscience rights for doctors and nurses who refuse to perform or abet patients who want to die. The government had avoided the issue with its proposed assisted dying bill, C-14, which said nothing about conscience rights on the grounds that the regulation of health professionals is a provincial matter.

Without calling for any amendment to Bill C-14, Viersen’s motion declared that “It is in the public interest to protect the freedom of conscience of a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner, pharmacist or any other health care professional who objects to take part, directly or indirectly, in the provision of medical assistance in dying.”

MP Viersen explained, “The Liberals continue to emphasize that nothing in Bill C-14 can compel a healthcare provider to provide medical assistance in dying, but any province or employer could still compel healthcare professionals against their conscience rights.”

Bill C-14 is an amendment to the Criminal Code, setting out the conditions that must be met by health professionals putting patients to death or assisting them to commit suicide, without committing a crime. It was necessitated by the Supreme Court’s decision in the Carter case throwing out the blanket Criminal Code provision against either forms of homicide, with enforcement of the decision delayed first till February and now till June.

While C-14 was initially silent on conscience rights, in committee an amendment was added declaring that nothing in the bill could be used to compel health professionals to act against their consciences. The House has yet to vote on this and other amendments.

Larry Worthen, head of the Christian Medical and Dental Society of Canada, told LifeSiteNews that the amendment “was a move in the right direction,” but not nearly enough to protect doctors and other health professionals from discrimination or discipline.

“We really are hoping that what we want will be added in the Senate,” said Worthen. The Senate’s Justice Committee has just issued its report on the issue and on Bill C-14 indicating it wants stronger protections not only for doctors, but for patients. But the bill must first pass in the Commons before going to the Senate.

The Senate report calls for amendment declaring that “No medical practitioner, nurse practitioner, pharmacist or other healthcare institution care provider, or any such institution, shall be deprived of any benefit, or be subject to any obligation or sanction, under any law of the Parliament of Canada.”

While it recommended making it easier for a person to request assisted dying in advance of an anticipated cognitively disabling condition, it also called for greater safeguards against minors or the mentally ill getting such aid, and measures to prevent those who might benefit financially having a hand in requesting the assistance.

Worthen was joined by Dr. Catherine Ferrier, of Quebec’s Living with Dignity group, in warning that provincial governments, institutions and professional regulators such as colleges of physicians and surgeons could all violate health workers’ freedom of conscience by requiring them to help patients die or refer patients to other doctors who would help them.

“A palliative care centre could make it a condition of employment,” said Worthen. “The Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons made it a requirement last year that doctors must provide ‘effective referrals.’”

Ferrier said the Quebec government already requires doctors to pass on requests for assisted suicide to a committee that will find them a doctor. “The way it worked in the past,” she told LifeSiteNews, “was that a patient who just discovers he has terminal cancer might say, ‘I want to die now.’ And we would respond, ‘It’s against the law for us to do that. Let’s talk about what else we can do to help you.’ Then the palliative care providers deal with the patient’s pain, he talks with his family, he starts dealing with all the important issues of his life, and he realizes he is glad he is still alive.”

But now in Quebec, said Dr. Ferrier, “When we say, ‘We can help you with the pain,’ the patient says, ‘I don’t want any help. I just want to die right now.’” Dr. Ferrier said she knew of several doctors considering leaving Canada or retiring rather than participate in the death of their patients.

CMDSC’s Worthen called on all those supporting conscience rights to use the organization’s website, www.canadiansforconscience.ca, to register their views with members of the Senate.

5th Holistic Doctor (age 33) Died in Florida Making 5 Dead and 5 More Missing

Very mysterious and curious.
Dr. Baron Holt DC

by Erin Elizabeth
Health Nut News

I read about Dr. Baron Holt DC not long after he died less than a month ago near me here on the East Coast of Florida. Father’s day June 21st. Dr. Holt was coincidentally found the very same day  that Dr. Bruce Hedendal (also a DC found here on the E Coast of Florida)  was found  slumped over in his car. Like Holt, Dr. Hedendal was also extremely fit. Dr Hedendal been doing an athletic event earlier in the day before he died.

These two chiropractors who tragically died the same day in the same state, come  2 days after the death of Dr. Bradstreet MD who was found in a river in North Carolina with a gunshot wound to his chest. Previously Dr. Bradstreet  had lived and practiced here on the East Coast of Florida as well.   I hesitated covering Dr. Holt’s story as I had no information and didn’t feel comfortable as there were no recent articles I could reference.

Now there is.

From this article which refers to Dr. Holt as the faithful healer:

His unexpected death last month while on a trip to Jacksonville, Fla. has been a blow to his family and the community he’d created through his work. Though he had been struggling with recent health issues, none were thought to be life threatening by loved ones. His family is awaiting the results from an autopsy report.

I had searched before for any information but saw no statement from the family. Now that I see this article states his family felt he had no health challenge that was life threatening and was a mere 33 years old.

The article goes on to say

Holt’s practice, Revolution Chiropractic, had just celebrated its fifth anniversary this year. Highly fit at 33, he was deeply connected to his Christian faith, and his career as a Triangle practitioner was booming.

Holt took a holistic approach to treatment; he and his staff taught classes on nutrition, exercise, even aromatherapy.

In 2012, he traveled to London to work with the U.S. Olympic team, and could count Ultimate Fighting Championship athletes among the 500 patients his practice saw each week, said Brigitte Spurgeon, friend and Revolution Chiropractic clinical director.

When I read that he was “highly fit” well accomplished, even traveling to London to work with the Olympic team and already emerging as a prominent natural chiropractor, I feel that it’s my duty to report on his sad  untimely death whatever the cause.

Drs. Bradstreet, Hedendal, and Sievers
Again, our hearts go out to his family, friends and loved ones and we hope they get to the bottom of this whatever the cause may be.  Just to give you a timeline I’m going to write it out as follows:

#1 June 19thDr Bradstreet, formerly of Florida, now practicing in Georgia was found with a gunshot wound to his chest in a river.  The small town locals ruled the death almost immediately as a suicide but many have their doubts.

This same day in Mexico- June 19th (the only case outside the US) 3 doctors were traveling to the State Capital to deliver some papers (we don’t know what they contained)  They were reported missing that day. Authorities said they found the bodies, but the family says those bodies look nothing like their family members. A sad but riveting article was written about those details here.

#2 June 21st– We have two chiropractors both in Florida, both on the East Coast both presumably  healthy and both described as very fit both found dead.  We still have no cause of death in the articles we can find on either one. A few people have contacted me about Dr. Hedendal, but admit that they were surprised by his death and still find it shocking he died. I’ve been given a few causes of death but am not certain and even the friends telling me weren’t confident this was the case. Interestingly Dr. Holt lived in North Carolina which is the state Dr. Bradstreet’s body (see #1 story above)  was found  2 days prior. Though Dr. Bradstreet now lived in Georgia and before that neighboring state Florida.

#3 June 26th, Dr. Patrick Fitzpatrick MD goes missing. He was traveling from North Dakota to neighboring Montana (which he did often as his son lived in Montana) and his truck and trailer were found on the side of the road. Searches have expanded, but authorities say it’s like he vanished without a trace. He’s 6′ tall, described as Irish with a goatee and details can be found on the links.

#4 June 29th– The beloved holistic  Theresa Sievers MD was found murdered  in her home.  Her co worker says she was known as the “Mother Teresa of South Florida. Her husband and children were in Connecticut at a family reunion. The authorities have been investigating for two weeks “around the clock”  and now say that it was targeted, not random, not a home invasion ,and when the facts come out “books and movies will be written about it” it’s that huge of a story.

On this very same day, June 29th,  Jeffrey Whiteside MD a pulmonologist went missing , vanishing when he simply “walked away” .  Dr Whiteside, known for his successful treatment of lung cancer, disappeared in Door County Wisconsin while vacationing with family. They say he was  on foot and had no vehicle and numerous reports call it “mysterious” saying he too vanished without a trace. They’ve been searching now 2 weeks and even colleagues have joined in (along with many bloodhounds, drones search parties and helicopters) but not a shred of evidence in 2 weeks.

Erin Elizabeth
#5 July 10thLisa Riley DO (Doctor of Osteopathic medicine) is found in her home with a gunshot wound to her head. Her husband called it in 911 and has a prior record, and actually was charged with attempted murder on his ex Ms. King, before charges were dropped. Evidence showed that there was  gun residue was found on Ms. King’s  hand and not Mr Riley’s and his story collaborated but hers allegedly didn’t and kept changing. At least that’s what evidence showed at the time.  (click link in this paragraph for their story with details)

We hope all 5 missing doctors are found alive and well. Our hearts go out to the other 5 doctors who were found dead and we hope they get to the bottom of each one and find the killer or killers soon of those who were indeed murdered.

This is Erin Elizabeth July 14, 2015, still concerned for my own better half of  years who is a prominent outspoken holistic DO.

So we have been at the hospital for hours and have not had contact with anyone since we checked in, we were placed in a room immediately and had been sitting there all night. Not one nurse even came to check on her the entire time. I just went off on the nurses and told them i would have her seen somewhere else and left. Now off to another hospital.

In just 1 week we will be on our way to Ohio (from North Carolina, I believe) for an entire week of testing and meeting so many new people who will change our lives forever. This journey will be filled with so many emotions, but we are going to make the best of every moment. Each day i will post updates for everyone. Please continue to pray for our family as we embark this next path in life. Pray that nothing goes according to the itenerary but everything goes according to God's plan. I have faith in him!
I don't know how you would survive without it!

We need your help!! We would like to find as many prayer warriors as possible before we leave next week for Aubrie's lung transplant evaluation.

Please "SHARE" and "LIKE" 'HOPE PHOR AUBRIE STARR'....then comment where you are praying from, lets see how far the prayers spread!

This week, Aubrie will be going to Ohio for evaluation, testing, and perhaps planning for a transplant. The family is asking for prayer cover for this week, so I am posting this and asking for you to either go to facebook - Hope PHor Aubrie Starr and let them know you are praying and what country you are praying from,  or, please let me know what country you will be praying from and I will pass it on. This will be an incredible gift for Aubrie both now and when she is older.

I expect that when the opportunity for a transplant comes that it will be very sudden and there may not be time to ask for prayer at that moment. So please keep that in mind when you pray.

Please RT, +1, repost, forward any way you can until we get thousands praying for this amazing little girl. God bless.

Ebola Making a Comeback in Guinea

Guinea has suffered a setback in its fight against Ebola with a rash of new cases, including three doctors infected by the virus, with officials blaming weak surveillance and a failure to follow safety procedures.

Ebola vaccine trial
The outbreak, which began in eastern Guinea more than a year ago and has killed over 10,000 people in the three West African countries worst hit, had appeared to be on the wane, but Guinea has seen cases rise for three consecutive weeks, according to World Health Organization data.

A government health report from the weekend showed there were 21 new cases in a single day, a spike from the recent daily average of eight.

President Alpha Conde said on Tuesday that everything must be done to end the outbreak by mid-April, ahead of a meeting with donors scheduled around that date.

Ending Ebola could reboot Guinea's mining-dependent economy that has been hammered by the outbreak which has scared investors, he said.

"With Ebola, it is easier to go from 100 cases to 10 cases than from 10 cases of to zero. To end it, we need 10 times more effort than when the outbreak was at its height," he said.

New infections

A big source of concern is a chain of new infections that can be linked back to a woman who died of Ebola and was not buried safely, according to Fatoumata Lejeune-Kaba, spokeswoman for the UN's Ebola emergency response mission UNMEER.

"It's a major setback .... It's due to individual behaviours. That is having a devastating effect on the community. People are simply not practising the safety rules that we have been talking about for a year," she told Reuters.

Of the other two countries worst hit, Sierra Leone has also seen a spate of new cases while Liberia has no known cases at present and is waiting to be declared free of the disease.

The new cases in Guinea are in the capital and the southwestern town of Forecariah but if the situation is not brought under control they could spread across borders, said Lejeune-Kaba.

Guinea officials said the new cases came from high risk Ebola contacts who had left Forecariah and developed symptoms elsewhere, pointing to poor surveillance.

Sakoba Keïta, Guinea's anti-Ebola task force coordinator, said on Tuesday that the government was putting in place new measures including strict rules regulating the movement of corpses and contact tracing.

"There are numerous gaps in the Ebola response in Guinea, notably in surveillance of contacts, and that explains the difficulty in making any lasting progress towards ending the epidemic," said a spokesman for medical charity MSF.

The three doctors were infected at the Ignace Deen hospital in Conakry, which is not an Ebola centre. More than 50 doctors in Guinea have caught the virus during the outbreak.
