Big Pharma > Purdue Pharma's OxyContin madness will cost them $7.4 billion

The Sacklers deserve to be thrown out on the streets with the millions of lives they destroyed. Surely, there must be a law against what they did.

Purdue Pharma, Sackler family to settle U.S. opioid lawsuits for US$7.4B

Purdue Pharma has won support from the attorneys general of 55 U.S. states and territories for its $7.4 billion settlement to resolve thousands of opioid lawsuits against the drugmaker and its owners, members of the Sackler family.

A framework for the settlement had been announced in January by New York Attorney General Letitia James and other states, and the support announced on Monday could help Purdue Pharma win court approval for its bankruptcy reorganization.

The $7.4 billion payment is intended to resolve claims that the drugmaker’s pain medication OxyContin caused a nationwide opioid addiction crisis.

It includes about $6.5 billion from the Sacklers and about $900 million from Purdue Pharma.

Payouts would begin after the drugmaker wins sufficient creditor support for its Chapter 11 plan. Money would go to individuals, state and local governments, and Native American tribes, and the Sacklers would cede control of Purdue and be barred from selling opioids in the United States.

“For decades, the Sacklers put profits over people, and played a leading role in fueling the epidemic,” James said in a statement. “While no amount of money can fully heal the destruction they caused, these funds will save lives and help our communities fight back against the opioid crisis.”

According to several attorneys general, Monday’s agreements do not include Oklahoma, which in 2019 reached a $270 million settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sacklers to resolve opioid-related claims.

Last June, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected an earlier settlement that would have given the Sacklers broad immunity from opioid-related civil lawsuits. The Sacklers would have paid about $6 billion under that settlement.

More than 850,000 people have died from opioid-related overdoses since 1999, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, though deaths have recently declined.

In 2022, Purdue agreed to pay $150 million to Canadian provinces and territories to resolve a class-action lawsuit against the company over the opioid crisis in Canada. The sum was the largest settlement for a government health claim in Canadian history.

Covid_19 > RFK Jr. ousts every member of CDC vaccine advisory committee

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has sensationally ousted every member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the Biden-appointed group that made recommendations on the necessity and use of vaccines, in the first of a series of sweeping changes.

The decision to remove all 17 members of the scientific committee, which advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and replace them with his own picks, was described as “a clean sweep” by President Trump’s health secretary in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece published Monday.

“Without removing the current members, the current Trump administration would not have been able to appoint a majority of new members until 2028,” RFK Jr. wrote.

“A clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science.”

Kennedy Jr., one of the leading anti-vaccine activists in the US, did not say whom he would appoint to the panel, but said the committee would meet in Atlanta in two weeks.

All of the current committee members were brought in under the Biden administration, while 13 of them were brought on only last year.

It will take until 2028 for most of the members to be replaced if they serve their full terms, Kennedy Jr.’s Department of Health and Human Services said.

One just-dismissed ACIP member claimed they did not receive a termination notice until after the publication of RFK Jr.’s WSJ op-ed — and slammed the move as “damaging.”

“I’ve never seen anything this damaging to public health happen in my lifetime. I’m shocked. It’s pretty brazen. This will fundamentally destabilize vaccination in America,” the unnamed member told CNN.

The HHS cited an executive order from President Trump calling for changes in the role the federal government plays in science and health.

Still, the move has been ripped by a number of major physicians and public health groups.

Kennedy Jr., whose controversial appointment was confirmed in February, was accused of “fixing a problem that doesn’t exist,” by Dr. Paul A. Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, speaking to USA TODAY.

“Now he’s just going to pick people he likes. Presumably, people who are like-minded, and I think that will shake confidence in this committee,” he said.

Sen. Chuck Schumer accused Kennedy and the Trump administration of “taking a wrecking ball to the programs that keep Americans safe and healthy,” speaking to USA TODAY.

“Worse, it sends a chilling message: that ideology matters more than evidence, and politics more than public health,” he added.

That's a crock! Biden and the CDC abused science mercilessly in supporting mRNA vaccines and condemning Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. It cost millions of American lives but made a bunch of money for big pharma and the governments that supported them.

'Woke Lunacy' > Dutch Cooperative wants to distribute suicide pills

Just when  you thought 'woke lunacy' couldn't possibly get much worse a company in the Netherlands plans to introduce suicide pills. What can possibly go wrong?

Organization tests if suicide drug 'drug X'

can be legally distributed in the Netherlands

Those in the Netherlands in life threatening danger should immediately dial 112 for emergencies, and anyone suffering from depression or contemplating suicide can call 113 Zelfmoordpreventie at any time by dialing either 113 or 0800-0113, or by visiting 113.nl.

Coöperatie Laatste Wil (CLW), an organization that advocates for giving adults more freedom to decide when and how to end their lives, is going to form a committee that will focus on all possible questions or problems that exist within the organization. There will also be a working group that will investigate whether it is possible to legally distribute the suicide drug known as Drug X or Middel X in the Netherlands. This was decided on Saturday in a general members meeting, chairman Rob van Doorn announced.

Should this 'co-op' be investigated to see which pharmaceutical company is behind it? Or, do we already know?

Two weeks ago, the board received a letter from a member who expressed his concerns about the side effects of the drug, such as uncontrolled movements. At that time, CLW announced it would tighten information about possible side effects and make it available to non-members. In addition, the co-op no longer says the drug leads to a “humane” death, but a “human” death. "There are side effects. That is no secret, we should not have a hard time with that," says Van Doorn.

During the meeting, a motion against the board was discussed because a number of members believed "that the board has done too little in the past period." However, the board can stay, Van Doorn says, but a committee will be set up to map out possible problems in the organization.

It should begin by mapping out the company's godlessness. Only God should be the decider of when we die. Robbing Him of that privilege when you will soon have to stand before Him, will not go well for you.

The purchase and possession of the suicide drug is not punishable by law. But it is if the drug is sold and someone dies from it. In that case, it can be considered assisted suicide.

To move forward and no longer have to fear legal consequences for assisted suicide, CLW is lobbying politicians to amend the legislation. "We have made contact with the spokespersons of all the factions in the Tweede Kamer and have been talking to them repeatedly to make our story clear and to clear up misunderstandings. We also shared our story with the various informants several times during the formation of the Cabinet," it says on the CLW website.

And did you pass a small envelope under the table?

Nevertheless, the lobbying for selling the suicide drug has not yet been successful as the legislation on assisted suicide has remained unchanged, NPO Radio1 reports.

Big Pharma > Bayer's astonishing purchase of Monsanto explained, and it's not pretty

It has always intrigued me as to why Bayer bought out Monsanto when Monsanto had many heavy lawsuits pending and had already lost some for huge amounts of money.

Dr. Casey Means explains the horrifying logic to Tucker Carlson.

Dr. Casey Means: "The largest merger ever done in Germany was Bayer Monsanto, where Bayer which is a pharmaceutical company merged with Monsanto, which is an agrochemical company in the United States.

If you look at what Bayer makes, they make cancer drugs for things like non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

If you look at what Monsanto makes, which is Roundup, which is the most widely used pesticide in America, the cancer that is causes is non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
They paid out $11 billion in the past couple years for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma cases.

So the companies are merging that are directly known to cause the disease with a medical company that has a treatment for the disease. This is very very dark."
