A black-clad Antifa mob hurled projectiles and destroyed equipment at what appeared to be a peaceful event in Portland, Oregon, prompting a right v left fracas on social media about the ambushed gathering’s true purpose.

A “prayer event” held at a park in downtown Portland on Saturday was attacked by a group of left-wing activists who threw objects at attendees and assaulted them with pepper spray, the conservative Post Millennial reported. 

Organizers announced the event last month, saying it would feature controversial Canadian preacher Artur Pawlowski. The Calgary pastor has made headlines for his vocal opposition and resistance to lockdown measures that have shuttered churches in the Canadian city. 

Footage taken at the event shows black-clad Antifa members throwing projectiles at the event’s attendees, as some of the masked activists shouted “No hate speech.”

Right! Throwing rocks is much better than reading the Bible or praying to God!

“They threw a bomb already. We’ve got kids here,” the narrator of the video says. 

The activists eventually march up to the stage. One Antifa member takes the microphone, announcing: “All cops are bastards. In the name of Jesus, Amen.” The group of left-wingers then kick and destroy the sound equipment. One black-clad individual can be seen carrying a speaker to the nearby Willamette River, apparently so that they could toss it into the water. 

A woman who attended the event later said on camera that the activists had thrown a “flash bomb into a group of kids,” some as young as four months old. 

“We were about to have a worship event and Antifa just rolled in like an angry mob and started throwing flash bombs at everybody, macing everybody,” she said. 

The incident reportedly did not result in any arrests. 

While the violence elicited disgust and outrage among conservative pundits, many came to Antifa’s defense, insisting that the event was nefarious. 

A Portland minister responded to reports about the attack by insisting that the gathering was a “far-right political rally organized by a failed MAGA congressional candidate from CA.”

One Twitter user said that she rode her bike to the part and saw “gun-toting Proud Boys running security for this prayer service.”

Right! Watch the video and show me where there is one Proud Boy, armed or otherwise. There weren't even any police. Far-lefties feel no obligation to tell the truth.

Footage appears to show members of the right-wing group sporting paintball guns near the event’s location, but it doesn’t appear that they were present when Antifa attacked the gathering. Another video, purportedly taken on the same day, shows the group skirmishing with Antifa in downtown Portland. A police officer can be seen observing the mini-battle, but doesn’t intervene. 

Antifa has been linked to months of unrest in the city following the killing of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police in May 2020.

On Monday, a federal judge handed religious liberty advocates a major win by ruling that the Biden administration cannot force Christian doctors and religious hospitals to perform abortions or gender transition procedures under Obamacare.

The case involves a portion (Section 1557) of the Affordable Care Act that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. The Obama administration interpreted Section 1557 as also prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, although the Trump administration reversed that policy and said it interpreted it as referencing "male or female and as determined by biology."

In May of this year, the Biden administration reverted to the Obama policy, with the Department of Health and Human Services saying it would interpret Obamacare as banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

The various interpretations impact what doctors and hospitals are required to do under federal law.

A coalition of religious and Christian doctors and hospitals filed suit in 2016 and have won several rounds in court, although the latest federal court ruling, handed down Monday, is the first one that addressed the Biden administration's new interpretation.

Federal Judge Reed O'Connor, in a 23-page decision, ruled the Biden administration's rules "substantially burdens Christian Plaintiffs' religious exercise in clear violation of" the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a 1993 law.

"Enforcement of the 2021 Interpretation" by the Biden administration "forces Christian Plaintiffs to face civil penalties or to perform gender-transition procedures and abortions contrary to their religious beliefs," O'Connor wrote. He was nominated by President George W. Bush.

O'Connor's decision "permanently" prohibits HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and his successors from "interpreting or enforcing Section 1557" in a manner that would require the plaintiffs to "perform or provide insurance coverage for gender-transition procedures or abortions.

Luke Goodrich, vice president and senior counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, called the decision a "victory for compassion, conscience, and common sense."

"No doctor should be forced to perform controversial, medically unsupported procedures that are contrary to their conscience and could be deeply harmful to their patients," Goodrich said in a statement. "These religious doctors and hospitals provide top-notch medical care to all patients for everything from cancer to the common cold. Everyone benefits when doctors are able to follow their professional medical judgment and their Hippocratic Oath to 'Do No Harm.'"

The University of Manitoba lost its case against medical student Rafael Zaki.

A Manitoba medical student who was expelled after failing to satisfactorily apologize for his controversial views on guns and abortion has been granted a new adjudication of his expulsion.

Rafael Zaki, a Coptic Orthodox student at the University of Manitoba who was supposed to graduate in 2022, posted three items on his Facebook page in February 2019. He was expelled in August 2019.

One year later, after losing two appeals within the university system, Zaki asked Manitoba’s Court of Queen’s Bench to review the decision made by the University Discipline Committee. Zaki said he was expelled “for holding conscientious and religious beliefs that abortion is harmful.”

The university, meanwhile, said that it must ensure professional behaviour and attitudes in order for its students to become doctors, and that Zaki was expelled for failing to reach that standard “even after numerous attempts … to assist (him) in remediating his conduct.”

"Remediating his conduct!" That's what they call 'brainwashing' in China.

Ken Champagne, the provincial judge in the case, found that there was a perception of bias and the university discipline system had failed to consider Zaki’s Charter rights to freedom of expression.

“The decision is quashed,” Champagne wrote, calling it “incorrect and unreasonable.”

Carol Crosson, Zaki’s lawyer, said the family had emigrated from Egypt because of concerns over freedom of religion.

“They came here to find freedom, and then their son went through this at the university,” Crosson said. “I’m very happy for the family that the trek to freedom has been positive in the final result.”

A Minnesota lawmaker said last week Antifa and Muslim organizations plan to “police Minneapolis under Muslim rule,” communism is moving into Minneapolis-St. Paul and the state’s Democratic attorney general would like to “close down all of northern Minnesota.” 

The Park Rapids Enterprise quoted Rep. Steve Green, R-Fosston, making the comments during a Hubbard County Board meeting Tuesday. Much of the discussion focused on disbursement of federal pandemic aid, according to the paper’s report. 

But Green also weighed in on talk of defunding police in the wake of George Floyd’s death while a cop held his knee on his neck.

After the county board chair questioned whether there was an alternative public safety plan, Green said Antifa and Muslim organizations plan to “police Minneapolis under Muslim rule,” according to the Enterprise. He also claimed some representatives have a bill that would impose eminent domain on every business destroyed during the Floyd protests and “only sell back to people under conditions” imposed by the city. 

“What you’re looking at, in my humble opinion, is communism moving into Minneapolis and St. Paul,” Green was quoted saying.

Green declined to comment.

Rep. Mohamud Noor, DFL-Minneapolis, said rather than talk about things that inflame people and create division, Minnesota needs to address the challenge before it.

“Minnesota is awake,” he said. “They understand the challenges; they have been hearing the challenges for far too long. And we can’t wait any longer.”

Green also speculated that Gov. Tim Walz wants to implement mail-in voting “and remove the county and local precincts” and said he’s “never liked mail-in ballots anywhere.”

Minnesota townships and cities outside the metro with fewer than 400 registered voters are allowed to offer mail-in balloting.

A county commissioner lamented the state shutdown’s effect on businesses and school districts, suggesting state officials either didn’t understand the consequences or have “devious intentions.” Green responded that Attorney General Keith Ellison “may try to close down all of northern Minnesota.”

“I don’t think that would bother him a bit,” he was quoted as saying.

The county board then passed a resolution encouraging Walz to let his shutdown order expire, allow churches to reopen and release all federal pandemic-related aid.

These same far-left Antifa lunatics don't attack Muslims, who have committed numerous acts of terrorism, murdering hundreds of French people in the past few years. A Nativity play in the French city of Toulouse had to be cut short after a mob of fifty anti-Christian, far-left militants insulted and attacked the event’s participants and spat on a priest.

The anti-Christian attack occurred on Saturday, December 14th at the Place Saint-Georges living nativity scene. The performance had been organized to celebrate the traditional spirit of Christmas and to emphasize the non-consumeristic aspects of the holy day, Infos Toulouse reports.

The celebration was quickly interrupted by a mob of 50 so-called “anti-fascists” who hurled vicious insults at the event’s crowd, participants, and priests while they shouted anti-Christian slogans. Members of the far-left group argued “that the event was illegal” because France is a secular state.

As a result of the attack, organizers were forced to shut the event down and to evacuate the frightened children.

One demonstrator allegedly forced his way into the square before he filmed himself attacking and spitting on a priest. After the rabid attacker was forced to leave the scene, he later came back and physically attacked a journalist, throwing his camera on the ground and breaking it. Eventually, event security forcibly removed the man.

Archbishop of Toulouse Monseigneur Le Gall, condemned the anti-Christian attack in a press release, writing: “This joyful manifestation during which Christmas carols are sung, Nativity scenes played by children and adults, helped by multiple animals, has no other purpose than to give depth to this celebration. As Arch Archbishop of Toulouse, I regret that the simple reminder of the birth of Jesus and the values ​​that it conveys (welcoming from abroad, announcement of Peace and sign of tenderness that we all need) is no longer respected in our country and even provokes acts of verbal and physical violence from those who set themselves up as defenders of freedom. I invite everyone to peacefully defend freedom of expression and to respect the history and traditions of our country.”

Sadly, anti-Christian attacks in France have become commonplace. Earlier this year in March, Voice of Europe reported on a string of attacks in France which saw historic Catholic churches desecrated, vandalized, and set ablaze. Anti-Christian militants have torn down crosses, smashed statues, knocked down tabernacles, and have destroyed the Eucharist, among other horrific acts.

Several Antifa members crowded around an elderly woman with a rolling walker, blocking her from crossing a street outside a college in Canada, where they held a rally against a local MP, ending with scuffles and arrests.

The ugly scene took place amid a loud Antifa protest outside Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday. Video of the event, shared on social media, shows an elderly couple attempting to cross the street on a marked crosswalk as four masked protesters deliberately loom over them, blocking their path.

Soon, Antifa will be blocking people from voting as it makes a shambles of democracy.

The couple remained calm, seemingly trying to reason with the protesters. One incensed activist appears to be screaming at the woman in response and later makes an aggressive hand gesture to the man accompanying her.

The Antifa activists had their faces hidden by scarves and hoodies during the exchange, while one wore a ski mask. Other activists could be heard shouting “Nazi scum – off our street!” It is unclear how the argument between the protesters and the elderly couple started, and whether they let the couple go in the end.

"Nazi scum - off our street" is remarkably like the Nazi attitude toward Jews in pre-WWII Germany. Curious how things get twisted around like that. It should be against the law to cover your face like that unless you are on a ski hill or in a blizzard or there's an air quality alert.

The treatment of the couple, nevertheless, sparked outrage on Twitter. “This makes me sick,” one person wrote.

“The poor woman couldn’t even walk by herself. Do these guys think there (sic) tough for picking on the elderly?” another commenter said.

Antifa activists showed up outside Mohawk College to protest against politician Maxime Bernier, who was holding a fundraiser there. After briefly serving as foreign minister in the late 2000s, he quit Canada’s Tories last year to form the right-wing People’s Party, and currently serves as its sole MP.

Bernier advocates for stricter immigration laws and strongly opposes what he calls the “extreme multiculturalism and cult of diversity” of incumbent liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. This predictably triggered the ire of Antifa, who have turned up to protest at several of Bernier’s events across the country.

Sunday’s rally was marred by sporadic scuffles between the protesters and Bernier supporters. Police intervened, arresting four people.
