Pro-Assad Syrians ask Israel to save them from new regime slaughter

Leaders of an ethnic-religious group in Syria aligned with the ousted Assad regime have appealed to Israel to intervene militarily against the new government, after soldiers killed over 1,000 members of the minority group.
Since last Thursday, Syrian forces loyal to the new government under President Ahmed al-Sharaa, better known by his nom de guerre Abu Mohammed al-Julani, have cracked down on dissidents in the Latakia and Tartus provinces.
The two districts have a majority of Alawites, the ethno-religious minority group which ruled Syria for decades under the regimes of Hafez and Bashar Assad.
The new government, led by Sunni Islamists, ordered the incursion into the two coastal provinces in response to alleged attacks by supporters of the deposed Assad regime.
According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, more than 250 Alawite militia men and 973 civilians have been killed in government reprisals since March 6th. Over 230 regime soldiers have also been killed in the fighting, the SOHR reported.
On Monday, i24NEWS reported that Alawite leaders have sent letters to Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and to Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, requesting that Israel take military action to protect the Alawite community.
“Save us from the brutal regime, we will receive you with songs and flowers,” the letter reads in part, while urging the Israeli media to “shed light on the massacres” in Latakia.
In the letter, the Alawite sheikhs lamented that after “the fall of the Assad regime and the assumption of power in Syria by an extremist Islamic group,” the community has been targeted by the new regime with acts of “killing, kidnapping, displacement, and intimidation as a method and way to rule and dominate.”
The letter’s signatories requested that the Israeli military “move its planes and forces to protect us,” that the Israeli navy be deployed off Syria’s Mediterranean coast, and that Israel’s government “raise the issue of crimes against the Alawites at the international level.”
“We say to the Jewish state, we extend our hands to you and we will be your best and most loyal friends, so that you can rid us of this extremist Islamic rule that will be a place for training and preparing groups from which they will launch their fight against you.”
“In the past, you have suffered from the Islamists and known their crimes, and the treacherous terrorists of Islamic terrorism are the best example of the Hamas movement and terrorism as an example of terrorism and terror. And the Hamas movement is establishing a base in Syria that will be a launching point for action against you.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar condemned al-Sharaa over the killings, calling in an interview with Germany’s Bild newspaper for Europe not to “misread reality” or overlook the massacre in Latakia and Tartus.
Alawite leaders noted Sa’ar’s comments in their letter.
“We would like to thank Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar for his words about the Alawites and the revenge and harm they are subjected to, something no Arab, Islamic, or international foreign minister has ever done.”
Considered a sect within Shi’ite Islam, the Alawites also compromise a unique ethnic group within Syria’s Arab population, making up roughly 12% of Syria’s 25 million residents.
Like the Druze, Syria’s Alawite community formed an autonomous state within the French Mandate for Syria during the 1920s and 1930s, spanning the Tartus and Latakia regions, before it was forcibly incorporated into the Syrian Arab Republican in 1936.
This is a tough position for Israel. While they appear determined to protect the Druze, they have no sympathy for the Alawites after Assad's enmity with Israel. If the Alawites started the fight with the Sunnis, that would remind Israel of Hamas on Oct 7th, '23.
On the other hand, it might be an opportunity to stretch their borders, which could be tempting but could also set Turkey in motion to invade Israel as in Ezekiel 38 &39.
But God never gave Syria to the Israelites.
PA leader for International Women’s Day: A woman gains ‘high status in society when her son dies as a martyr’
When a fact is too horrible to imagine, many people find it easier to dismiss it as fiction, which can be dangerous. This is the ongoing case of what the Palestinian Authority (PA) and in fact, the entire Palestinian “resistance” is all about. The PA’s pay-for-slay program and routine images of Palestinians cheering the death of Israelis in the streets should be convincing enough. The PA spends nearly $350 million per year on its pay-for-slay program. How could any country that claims poverty spend this much money on murdering Jews while the world stays silent, or worse, supports it?
The West has found it easier to ignore the hateful, violent Islamic tenets which are embraced by the Palestinian “resistance” movement than to confront them. In Islam, “martrydom” is the highest calling:
“Let those who sell the life of this world for the next fight in the way of Allah. Whoever fights in the way of Allah, whether he is killed or victorious, on him we will bestow a great reward.” (Quran 4:74)
““Indeed, Allah has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth, because the garden will be theirs, they will fight in the way of Allah and will kill and be killed.” (Quran 9:111)
The words of Muhammad: “I would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.” This is why modern-day Jihadists often say that they love death. (Sahih Bukhari 52:54)
“Allah guarantees that He will admit the Mujahid in His Cause into Paradise if he is killed, otherwise He will return him to his home safely with rewards and war booty.” (Sahih Bukhari 52:46)
During the battle of Uhud, Muhammad was desperate to push men into battle. He promised paradise for those who would martyr themselves, prompting a young man who was eating dates to throw them away and rush to his death. (Sahih Muslim 20:4678)
A man asks Muhammad “which of men is the best?” Muhammad replies that it is the man who is always ready for battle and flies into it “seeking death at places where it can be expected.” (Sahih Muslim 20:4655)
Given these religious instructions, it should not be difficult to grasp why senior Fatah leader Abbas Zaki would remind his people that a woman gains “respect and high status in society when her son dies as a martyr,” since she is the mother of the jihadist who has achieved the highest religious calling.
Zaki has stated: “We should launch popular resistance against Israel, because what unites us is the struggle against it, not dialogue with it.“

As in previous years, the Palestinian Authority used International Women’s Day to glorify the memory of female terrorists and the value of mothers who knowingly send their sons to die as “Martyrs.”
Senior Fatah leader Abbas Zaki sang the praises of the mothers who publicly celebrate their sons’ deaths. He also lauded the mothers who even give their sons the stones to throw at Israelis with the full knowledge that their children will die. Sending her son to his death, however, is not in vain, according to Zaki: “She begins to feel that she has gained respect and high status in society when her son dies as a Martyr.”
Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki: “Allah is witness to the fact that there is no woman in the world like the Palestinian woman. The woman who makes sounds of joy for the Martyr and sings songs of the revolution for the groom (i.e., a Martyr’s funeral is considered his wedding to the 72 Virgins in Paradise in Islam).
This woman is the one who gives up her son as he goes to fight with a rock, and she gives him the rock while knowing what her son’s fate will be. However, this woman is placed on a pedestal because she gave oxygen to this homeland, and she begins to feel that she has gained respect and high status in society when her son dies as a Martyr.”
Such a woman may gain respect in Islamic society, but I suspect it is mostly feigned respect, for what mother would give up her son to be a murderer? If such a thing is real in Islamic society, I can assure you that it is not accurate in God's economy. Murdering God's people is about as stupid and rebellious a thing as you can do. And Jews and Christians are God's people. That's so obvious to anyone interested in knowing the truth.
