Consequently, he criticizes Muslims who belong to the “Western civilizational project.”
When I have stated over the years that many Muslims think this way, I’ve been called “racist” and “Islamophobic.” Is Abu Ibrahim racist and “Islamophobic”?
Also, why do Western countries feel any obligation to welcome and shelter those who believe that their “civilizational project” is wrong in itself and should be rejected?

Canadian Islamic scholar and content creator Abu Ibrahim, who is one of the instructors at the i3 Institute Islamic advocacy organization, said in a June 18, 2026 video that many Muslims, “unfortunately,” see themselves as actively belonging to the “Western civilizational project” and as aligned contributors to its values. He said that in doing so, these Muslims “forget” that Islam is its own “civilizational project.”
He elaborated that Islam is not merely in a “parallel” category, but must define Muslims’ religion, nation, politics, and “everything” about them. He continued that Islam is “totally exclusive and hegemonic over every aspect of your life,” and that Western culture originates from the Enlightenment and Christendom. Therefore, he said, there is “no reason” for the Islamic world of ideas and the Western world of ideas to coincide, even for Muslims who live in the West.

Canada: Pro-Palestinian protester charged with terrorism over alleged Hamas links
This is groundbreaking news out of a country which is recognized as having a major problem with antisemitism, and which prompted the Israeli ambassador to Canada, Iddo Moed, to characterize Canada as “one of the centres of antisemitism globally.”
Although the article below states that “the case against Hajahmad makes the ‘rare alleged link between pro-Palestinian protests and the Hamas terrorist organization,'” there is nothing “rare” about this link. In the January 2006 Palestinian legislative elections, Hamas won a majority of the seats in the parliament, 76 out of 132. And “the top Hamas leader, Khaled Mashaal, told Abbas his group is ready for a political partnership.” The link between support of the Palestinians and support of Hamas is well established, as is the “resistance” of both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas “from the River to the Sea.” The late Ayatollah Khamenei celebrated this movement:
Leftist twisting of the truth is reflected in mainstream media reports, and is hampering the ability to root out antisemitic hatred, as well as to oppose the jihad against the infidel West. In 2024, the National Post ran a story entitled The pro-Hamas puppet masters behind ‘pro-Palestinian’ protests.
Nonetheless, this latest news is to be applauded.
It is high time that every rock be overturned in order to find every unsavory connection to Hamas and support for Palestinian terrorism in Canada — from the top down. It likely won’t happen under the current government, as it has fully embraced the Palestinian Authority, which rewards jihad terrorists for killing Israelis via its pay-for-slay program, but it’s a vision for future.

over alleged Hamas links

A pro-Palestinian demonstrator has been charged with terrorism over his alleged actions in association with Hamas, Toronto police said Wednesday.
Ahmad Hassan Hajahmad, 33, was arrested following a joint investigation by the Toronto police hate crime unit and the RCMP national security team.
He appeared in court on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Toronto Police Service said that between May 25 and Sept. 7, 2024, Hajahmad attended pro-Palestinian demonstrations in downtown Toronto.
Using a microphone, Hajahmad made public statements that advocated for “harm against members of the Israeli and Jewish communities,” police said.
Police said they searched his residence on March 7, 2025, and seized “multiple electronic devices.”
The evidence supported “the allegation that the accused acted for the benefit of, and in association with, Hamas, a designated terrorist group,” police added.
The Ontario and federal attorneys general approved the charge on July 20.
Hajahmad faces one count of participating in or contributing to activities of a terrorist group. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
