Israeli consulate under fire in Germany
with Nazi-era weapon
The attack comes on the 52nd anniversary of the 1972 Munich Massacre.

A terrorist opened fire on Thursday near the Israeli consulate in Munich. German security forces neutralizing the shooter, according to Israel’s mission to the country.
The weapon used appeared be a Nazi-era long rifle with bayonet.
“A shooting incident occurred near the Israeli Consulate General in Munich. The consulate is closed today due to a memorial ceremony for the Munich Olympics massacre, and none of the consulate staff were harmed in the incident,” according to a statement released by the Israeli mission.
“The shooter was neutralized by German security forces, and the situation is under their control.”
The attack comes on the 52nd anniversary of the 1972 Munich Massacre, when eight gunmen from the Palestinian terrorist group Black September burst into the Israeli team’s Olympic village quarters, killing two Israelis and kidnapping nine.
West German neo-Nazis gave the group logistical assistance.
All nine hostages, as well as eight terrorists and a German police officer, died during a botched rescue effort by West German police.
The three surviving perpetrators were arrested and then released the next month in a hostage exchange that followed the hijacking of Lufthansa Flight 615.

There are plenty of languages that aren’t Indo-European. Why did they choose Arabic above all the others? Could it have to do with what they have done to Belgium, and what is coming for that country? Why, certainly.

The Holy Trinity College Preparatory School, located in Leuven in the Flemish Region, has included learning the Arabic language in its school curriculum this year, several Mediahuis media outlets report.
This language will be compulsory for sixth-year secondary students in modern languages; Arabic therefore joins the compulsory learning of Dutch, French, English, Spanish and German. This decision is largely linked to the modernisation of secondary education, which allows schools to offer modern language teaching with a limited number of hours of Latin, economics, science or mathematics. A certain number of hours can be filled by courses chosen by the schools themselves.
“We did not want to pamper our students, but to challenge them intellectually with a language that does not belong to the Indo-European group,” explains the school’s principal Frank Baeyens. “We want to show them that a language can be structured in a completely different way, with different writing and signs. The aim is also not for them to learn to speak Arabic fluently. It is rather a philosophical and cultural language. An opening of their horizons.”
Mr Baeyens also emphasises the social importance of the project. “A group of students has Arabic as their mother tongue. The presence of a teacher with Arab roots, who could serve as a role model for these students, would be a huge added value. Students can thus draw inspiration from a person with a certain social position, who has continued their studies and is satisfied with them. Today, there are too few teachers with an immigrant background.

DARMSTADT. A rampage on Monday in Darmstadt may have an Islamist background. The driver, who previously ignored several red lights and is said to have also tried to run over pedestrians, said after his arrest that he had acted “on behalf of Allah,” reports Die Welt.
The 24-year-old rampage driver is therefore an Afghan with a German passport. The migrant is said to have driven a BMW at excessive speed, the police said. “According to witnesses, he also drove off the road and drove through red lights. Fortunately, passers-by were able to react quickly and get to safety.”
He eventually rammed a Skoda and seriously injured a 29-year-old. “As deliberate action cannot currently be ruled out, the Hessian State Criminal Police Office has taken over further investigations, which are currently being conducted in all directions,” say the security authorities. However, they kept quiet about the Afghan’s religious statements.

It is currently being investigated whether the rampage driver was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. There are also indications that the man may be suffering from a mental disorder, reports Die Welt.
