Brooklyn Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Jihadist-Inspired

Attack on New York City Police Department Officers

Department of Justice
U.S. Attorney’s Office
Eastern District of New York
Wednesday, September 21, 2022

Defendant Stabbed One NYPD Officer in the Neck, Robbed the Officer of his Service Weapon and Fired the Weapon at Several NYPD Officers

Earlier today, in federal court in Brooklyn, Dzenan Camovic, 22, was sentenced by United States District Judge Rachel P. Kovner to 30 years in prison for the robbery of a New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer’s firearm and discharging that firearm at several NYPD officers during the course of the robbery.  Camovic, who was inspired by terrorism, is a Bosnian citizen illegally in the United States.  He will be deported after completing his sentence.  He is also scheduled to be sentenced in state court in Brooklyn today to state charges arising out of the same conduct.

Breon Peace, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Michael J. Driscoll, Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office (FBI), and Keechant Sewell, Commissioner, New York City Police Department (NYPD), announced the sentence.

“Today’s 30-year sentence, along with Camovic’s removal from the United States, guarantees the community will be protected from his hate-filled ideology and actions,” stated United States Attorney Peace.  “We will never stop working to protect the safety of our brave law enforcement officers and community from those who would do them harm.”

Mr. Peace expressed his appreciation to the FBI’s New York Joint Terrorism Task Force for its outstanding work on the case and the Kings County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance.

“As today's sentence demonstrates, those who direct hate-fueled violence at anyone - including the brave men and women of law enforcement - will face stiff consequences in our criminal justice system.   Along with our partners on the Joint Terrorism Task Force, we remain steadfast in our determination to protect our city and our Nation from terrorists and their violent extremist ideology,” stated FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Driscoll.

“An attack against New York City police officers is an attack against our city and way of life – and today’s sentencing of Dzenan Camovic sends a clear message that such violence will never be tolerated,” said Police Commissioner Sewell. “Our NYPD family is thankful our brave officers survived this premeditated ambush. I commend our NYPD investigators, our partners in the FBI’s New York Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the prosecutors in the United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York, for their work in this case. Together, we will never stop working to protect our city.”

As set forth in court filings and during the plea and sentencing proceedings, on the evening of June 3, 2020, in the midst of a public health emergency and while New York City was under a nightly curfew order, Camovic attacked several uniformed NYPD officers assigned to post near the intersection of Flatbush and Church Avenues in Brooklyn, New York.    At approximately 11:50 p.m., Camovic rounded the corner from Flatbush Avenue onto Church Avenue and stabbed one of the officers (Officer 1) in the neck with a knife.  After stabbing Officer 1, Camovic chased the second officer (Officer 2), lunging at him and attempting to stab him.  Camovic then ran back to Officer 1, attacked him, forcibly took control of Officer 1’s firearm and fired multiple shots at Officer 2 and other officers who responded to the scene.  Responding officers ultimately shot Camovic and took him into custody.  Several officers suffered injuries during Camovic’s attack and robbery, including Officer 1, who was stabbed in the neck, and Officer 2, who was shot in the hand and lost a finger as a result.  A third officer also sustained a gunshot wound to the hand.

During his attack on the police officers, Camovic repeatedly shouted “Allahu Akbar,” a common Arabic phrase meaning “God is the greatest,” that has been used by perpetrators of jihadist terror attacks during the commission of violent attacks.  Prior to the attack, Camovic possessed a significant volume of radical jihadist propaganda.

During the sentencing proceeding, and as stipulated in Camovic’s plea agreement, Judge Kovner found that the terrorism enhancement to the United States Sentencing Guidelines—an enhanced sentence for certain criminal conduct that was calculated to influence or affect the conduct of government by intimidation or coercion—is applicable to his offense.

The government’s case is being handled by the Office’s National Security and Cybercrime Section.  Assistant United States Attorneys Craig R. Heeren, Artie McConnell and Josh Hafetz are in charge of the prosecution.

Qatar UN envoy deletes Twitter account after uproar

over cursing Jews, gay men

And now she wonders why she wasn't selected as Human Rights chair

By TZVI JOFFRE
Published: SEPTEMBER 28, 2022 11:38

Qatar's Ambassador to the United Nations Hend Al-Muftah deleted her Twitter account (@halmuftah) after it was revealed that she had published tweets repeating antisemitic tropes, calling Jews "our enemies" and calling for "God's curse" against gay men.

Muftah deleted her account just days after losing her bid to become chair of the UN Forum on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law.

Antisemitic tweets posted by Muftah include one reading “We learned from a young age that the Jews are our enemies!” and another recommending a book called “The Great Conspiracy” by Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud which accuses Jews of infecting Western civilization with “obscenity and decadence, cocaine, crack, nudity, sex and violence.”

Where does this idea come from? Hollywood! Godless Jews have run Hollywood since the Second World War and have done society no amount of good. When Jews walk in faith they are a blessing to mankind, but when they abandon their faith they are worthy of all the criticism heaped upon them.

Additional tweets by the Qatari envoy to the UN include one responding to a UN plea for LGBTQ+ rights in Africa, where she wrote: “Stay away from Middle East and Arab countries, keep your rights for your people.”

Another tweet stated that “Defending human rights has nothing to do with gay rights!” with two others calling on God to “curse” gay people.

Yet another tweet by the UN ambassador read “The end of America and others does not need any prophecy… Our Messenger and our Qur’an told us about it 1400 years ago, and it is inevitably true.

I am more than a little surprised at how much I agree with this woman, not completely, of course. But she recognizes that Jews are the enemy of Islam, not because Jews hate Islam, but because Islam hates Jews and is extremely jealous of how God seems to always show up on the side of Israel, starting with His rejection of Ishmael as a son of Abraham (Gen 22:12).

I've already addressed the infection of western society by godless Jews. Hend ignores the blessings to the world of godly Jews, some of which are now being seen in Gulf countries that are benefitting from recent trade with Israel.

There is no point in asking God to curse gays. That is Old Testament legalism. Gays have already cursed themselves, but we should be asking God for mercy and deliverance for them.

The Bible told us about the destruction of America and others (including Islam) long before Mohammed's effort to hijack the narrative for his own benefit.

These are controversial stands. Where do you stand on these issues?

One man wounded after terrorists open fire at Israeli bus and taxi dispatched to drive school children near Elon Moreh in Samaria.

By World Israel News Staff

One man was wounded in a terrorist shooting attack in Samaria Sunday morning.

The attack occurred on a road between the Israeli town of Elon Moreh and the Palestinian Authority-administered town of Bayt Furik.

During the attack, shots were fired at an Israeli bus and a taxi, both of which were damaged in the shooting.

The bus came under fire first, prompting the driver to report that attack to authorities.

Shortly afterwards, an Israeli taxi also came under fire. The taxi was en route to pick up special needs children and drive them to school.

One bullet penetrated the taxi’s rear window, sending pieces of glass flying which wounded the driver in the back.

The driver, a 40-year-old resident of Samaria, continued driving after being wounded, evacuating himself to a nearby army base, where he was treated by IDF medics. He is listed in light condition.

Israeli security forces are conducting searches of the area.

Samaria Regional Council chairman Yossi Dagan blamed the government’s policies for the latest shooting attack, accusing Israel’s leaders of refusing to carry out a comprehensive counter-terror operation in Samaria, modeled after Operation Defensive Shield in the spring of 2002.

“Yet another serious attack that ended almost miraculously,” Dagan said. “This government is abandoning residents here to a terror wave which the Palestinian Authority is cooking up. This government is refusing to accept reality.”

“I call on the government to get ahold of itself and announce a broad campaign to disrupt the terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria.”

Sunday’s terror attack is the latest shooting in Samaria, with nearly 10 such attacks reported in Samaria in one week in late September.

A pair of shooting attacks were reported in a single evening that week.

The IDF has recently registered an uptick in the number of shooting attacks in Judea and Samaria since the beginning of the year. About 70 such attacks have occurred since the beginning of 2022, compared to about 50 shooting attacks in all of 2021, 48 in 2020, and 61 in 2019.

Iranian officials 'SNATCH body of girl, 16, from her family'

after she took part in anti-morality police protests

Nika Shakarami was protesting in the Iranian capital when she was set upon by security forces

Iranian security forces stole the body of a teenage protestor from her family and buried her 25 miles away, it has been alleged, as widespread protests continue to rock the country following the death of Mahsa Amini at the hands of the so-called morality police.

Nika Shakarami, 16, first went missing after she took part in a demonstration in Tehran on September 20, having told her friend she was being pursued by security forces.

Ten days later, her grief-stricken family members found her body at a morgue in the Iranian capital, but were only allowed to see her face for a moment to identify her before being whisked away, according to a relative.

Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad, who posted a picture of Nika on social media upon news of her death, alleged her skull was smashed from multiple blows.

Her corpse was finally returned to her father's home town of Khorramabad at the weekend, but sources close to the family told BBC Persia that the body was later snatched and shipped to the nearby town of Veysian.

The ordeal endured by Nika and her family is just one example of ruthless tactics used by Iran's security forces to dissuade people from speaking out against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei's regime and the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ruhollah Khomeini.

It comes as stunning video footage from across Iran showed hundreds of schoolgirls removing their headscarves and taking to the streets, chanting 'death to the dictator' among other anti-regime slogans.

Nika Shakarami, 16, first went missing after she took part in a demonstration in Tehran on September 20, having told her friend she was being pursued by security forces

Widespread unrest was triggered when Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian, was pronounced dead on September 16 after being in a coma for three days following her violent arrest by Iran's 'morality police', who are tasked with enforcing public order and religious observance.

Amini was targeted for allegedly failing to strictly observe the rules on wearing the hijab headscarf.

Her death prompted public outcry and non-stop protests have since raged for three straight weeks.

More than 130 protestors have been killed by security forces so far according to the Norway-based group Iran Human Rights after Khamenei, who yesterday claimed the demonstrations are merely the result of a foreign plot to destabilise Iran, told his security forces to ruthlessly crack down on any dissent and enforce order.

But despite the incredible danger, footage circulating on social media shows huge numbers of female school pupils removing their headscarves - a hugely symbolic gesture - and staging their own protests.

One video showed schoolgirls tearing up pictures of Khomeini and launching the scraps into the air as they chanted 'death to the dictator' and the slogan 'woman, life, freedom'.

Others showed huge numbers of students running into the street and blocking traffic as they waved their headscarves over their heads.

One clip posted yesterday appeared to display a group of enraged girls shooing an adult male official out of their school in Karaj while pouring water on him and pelting him with plastic bottles.

Elsewhere students have been photographed in their classrooms showing the middle finger to images of the Supreme Leader and Islamic Republic founder while holding their headscarves aloft.

Islam - This Day in History > Palestinian Kills 16 on Israeli Bus, Injures 27

The Tel Aviv–Jerusalem bus 405 attack was a suicide attack on 6 July 1989 carried out by Abd al-Hadi Ghanim of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

On a crowded Egged commuter bus line No. 405 en route from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem (Israel), Ghanim seized the steering wheel of the bus, running it off a steep cliff into a ravine in the area of Qiryat Ye'arim.  16 civilians died in the attack—including two Canadians and one American, and 27 were wounded.

The incident is described as the first Palestinian suicide attack despite the fact that the attacker survived.

Attack
On 6 July 1989, Egged commuter bus line No. 405 began its regular route from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. When the bus passed Neve Ilan, Ghanim attacked the driver, seized the steering wheel of the bus and pulled the bus over a steep precipice into a ravine in the area of Qiryat Ye'arim. The driver was unable to stabilize the bus; as a result the vehicle rolled down the depth of the ravine and caught fire. Some of the passengers were burned alive.

Sixteen civilians were killed in the attack, including two Canadians and one American, and 27 were wounded. Students from the Telz-Stone yeshiva who heard the screaming rushed to the scene to administer first aid. One of them, Yehuda Meshi Zahav, went on to found ZAKA, a volunteer rescue service organization.

Perpetrator
The perpetrator, who survived the crash, received medical treatment for his injuries in an Israeli hospital. After the attack, it was revealed that the perpetrator was a 25-year-old Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant named Abd al-Hadi Rafa Ghanim who originated from the Nusseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Ghanim was convicted and given 16 life sentences for murder, hijacking and terrorism. On 18 October 2011, Ghanim was released to Gaza as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas.

In popular culture
In the NBC drama Heroes, the character Hana Gitelman, along with her grandmother and mother, were on board when the attack happened. Of the three, Hana was the sole survivor and in the series, she is turned into a superhero.

Israeli singer Ruhama Raz recorded the song "As Rachel Waited" (כחכות רחל), which she wrote in memory of her sister, Miriam Tzerafi, who was killed in the attack.

Nearly 200 Dodgy Australian Day Care Centres are Shut Down After Police Find Links to Islamic State, Bikie Gangs and Large-Scale Fraud

Almost 200 day care centres have been shut down in NSW alone since 2016
Suburbs in south-west Sydney were home to the worst-offenders
Four suburbs in the region accounted for 114 of all 180 shut-down schools

By BRITTANY CHAIN FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

Almost 200 day care centres have been shut down in NSW alone as police investigate links to Islamic State, motorcycle gangs and large-scale fraud.

Suburbs in south-west Sydney were home to the worst-offenders, with four suburbs in the region claiming 114 of the 188 private facilities that were closed.

Police shut down 49 facilities in the Canterbury-Bankstown region, another 25 in Liverpool, 23 in Fairfield and 17 in Auburn.

In one case, the director of the supposed day care was intercepted at Sydney airport, believed to be on his way to fight alongside Islamic State.

Almost 200 day care centres have been shut down in NSW alone as police investigate links to Islamic State,
motorcycle gangs and large-scale fraud

Hussain Dandachi, 28, was arrested in relation to a police investigation into a $27 million fraud syndicate and the funnelling of funds into Islamic State.

He pleaded guilty to supplying fake invoices worth more than $100,000 for children who were not in his care, and was sentenced to a minimum jail term of 10 months.

He is, apparently, a jihadist, and he gets a minimum sentence. Why?

Another family day care was supposedly running in a house with no electricity, while a third address led investigators to an abandoned garage, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The closures have seen the number of NSW Family Day Care services slashed by more than half since 2016, from 420 to 197.

Australia's daycare system is supported by the government which, if I am correct, pays the daycares directly nearly $10AU per child per day.

Alee Farmann was charged with knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group - in the form of his alleged
Red Roses Day Care scam, which pocketed government subsidies

Handcuffed: Farmann was taken away by police after being arrested at his home

One source described a licence to run a day care centre in NSW as a virtual 'licence to print money'.

The federal government is expected to save more than $674 million annually as a result of the investigation.

They will avoid paying out fraudulent applications for children who were not even students at the facilities applying for funding.

Last month, coordinated raids throughout the south-west led to the arrest of more than 20 people believed to be involved in running or facilitating fraudulent day care centres.

Red Roses Family Day Care director Alee Farmann and two other females were charged for their involvement

Some 150 parents are now also being investigated in relation to that case after it was determined parents had sold or provided their child's information to the accused.

The NSW government has now implemented a similar process to approving applications for new facilities to Queensland.

Rather than the old online application and cross-checking process, potential applicants are now required to pass a mandatory face-to-face interview.

Canadian Tire Store Attacker Pledges Allegiance to ISIS

This sick and unfortunate wife and mother of two young children, who promises to attack again and again when she is released, can't be deported from Canada because Trudeau is repealing the law that allows us to deport jihadists. Thank you Justin for keeping Canada safe, for jihadists, at least.

Dugmosh is in green with the full hijab. Unbelievable that you can wear a full-face veil
while on trial in Canada.

A Scarborough woman accused of swinging a golf club while screaming threats and Islamic chants inside a hardware store last month pledged her allegiance to ISIS in a Toronto courtroom on Monday.

Global News reported 32-year-old Rehab Dughmosh told Justice Kimberley Crosbie: “I meant to harm those people.

“I reject all counsel here. I only believe in Islamic Sharia law,” she reportedly said through an Arabic interpreter. “I would like to revoke my Canadian citizenship that I received. I don’t want to have any allegiance to you.”

She would do it again and again

Dughmosh, who faces charges including two counts of assault with a weapon, told court she would do it “again and again” if released, according to Global News.

Sources have told the Toronto Sun that a woman was wearing an ISIS bandana and ranted “Allahu Akbar” — God (Allah) is greater — when she entered a Canadian Tire store at Cedarbrae Mall in Scarborough earlier this month. She was eventually restrained by several employees.

One of the women she threatened to attack was also a Muslim, but was probably not wearing an hijab so was either not recognized or dismissed as not a true believer.

During her initial court appearance, Dughmosh pledged her allegiance to ISIS, saying “I pledge to the leader of the believers — Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.”

French Muslims Attend Mass, Pray with Catholics over Priest's 'Barbaric' Murder

This is a good sign from Muslims in France even if only a couple hundred were involved. It clearly reveals that there are Muslims who genuinely want peace and some level of sanity in their world. What percentage they represent is the question, and are they ready to clean up Islam in France?

Rouen (France) (AFP) - Muslims attended Catholic mass in churches around France on Sunday in solidarity and sorrow following the brutal jihadist murder of a priest, the latest in a string of attacks.

More than 100 Muslims were among the 2,000 faithful who packed the 11th-century Gothic cathedral of Rouen, near the Normandy town where two jihadi teenagers slit the throat of 85-year-old Father Jacques Hamel.

"I thank you in the name of all Christians," Rouen Archbishop Dominique Lebrun told them. "In this way you are affirming that you reject death and violence in the name of God."

A few policemen and soldiers stood guard outside but did not conduct searches, seeking to reassure a jittery population after the second jihadist attack in less than a fortnight.

In the southern city of Nice, where a jihadist carried out a rampage in a truck on July 14, claiming 84 lives, local imam Otaman Aissaoui led a delegation of Muslims to a Catholic mass.

"Being united is a response to the act of horror and barbarism," Aissaoui said.

Notre Dame church in southwestern Bordeaux also welcomed a Muslim delegation, led by the city's top imam, Tareq Oubrou.

"It's an occasion to show (Muslims) that we do not confuse Islam with Islamism, Muslim with jihadist," said Reverend Jean Rouet.

Muslims were responding to a call by the French Muslim council CFCM to show "solidarity and compassion" over the priest's murder on Tuesday.

Giving her name only as Sadia, she added softly: "What happened is beyond comprehension."

At the Saint Leger church in the northern city of Lens, around 30 Muslims attended mass wearing T-shirts emblazoned with messages such as, "Terrorism has no religion or identity".

Except 99% of all terrorists are Muslim.

Father Hubert Renard told the congregation: "We are not alone; our Muslim brothers are here too."

Many were moved to tears during the sign of peace, a regular part of the liturgy when the faithful turn to greet each other in the pews, either shaking hands or kissing.

Muslims also attended Catholic masses in Italy, notably at Rome's Santa Maria di Trastevere church, in response to a call by the Sant'Egidio community known for its international mediation efforts. Other joint services were held in Milan, Naples and Palermo, Sicily.

The killing of Father Hamel fanned fears of religious tensions in France and renewed recriminations over perceived security lapses.

Both of the 19-year-old attackers -- Adel Kermiche and Abdel Malik Petitjean -- had been on the intelligence services' radar and had tried to go to Syria.

- Jihadist's cousin charged -

Prime Minister Manuel Valls called Sunday for a new "pact" with the Muslim community in France, Europe's largest with around five million members.

Also Sunday, dozens of prominent Muslims published a joint letter pledging: "We, French and Muslim, are ready to assume our responsibilities."

I suggested a way to help motivate them to assume their responsibilities just this morning.

Meanwhile, Petitjean's 30-year-old cousin was charged with "criminal association in connection with terrorism", the Paris public prosecutor said.

The suspect, named as Farid K., "was fully aware of his cousin's imminent violent action, even if he did not know the precise place or day," the prosecutor said in an earlier statement.

Media reports say Petitjean and Kermiche met through the encrypted messaging app Telegram.

In a separate case Sunday, 20-year-old Jean-Philippe J. was charged with trying to travel to Syria with Petitjean last month.
