Eurosceptic Parties Set to Double Seats in EU Parliament After May Elections – Poll

Anti-establishment parties across the EU are expected to receive a surge in popularity at the ballot box, as a poll released Saturday indicates voters tired of the Brussels status quo could lead to a doubling in Eurosceptic MEPs.

Conducted by the German newspaper Bild between late February and early March, the poll surveyed over 9,500 voters in six countries on their voting intentions in May’s elections for the EU Parliament. In three countries – France, Italy, and Poland – anti-establishment right-wing parties came out on top, confirming a growing Eurosceptic shift among EU voters.

Parties expected to benefit from this shift in voter sentiment include Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party, which could secure 23 percent of the vote in France. In Italy, Interior Minister Matteo Salvini’s League Party is set to win 33 percent. Both right-wing parties are members of the Eurosceptic Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF) group, which expects to increase its number total of MEPs from 37 to 67 in the 705-seat Parliament.

Eurosceptic parties outside of the ENF grouping are also expected to benefit in May’s election. In Poland, Bild suggest that the ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) will take 42 percent of the vote. While in neighboring Germany, support for Alternative for Germany (AfD) is expected to reach 12 percent.

The establishment in Brussels along with social democratic and conservative parties previously sounded the alarm against the rising tide of populism across the EU. A recent report by a pro-EU think tank warned of Eurosceptics gaining 30 percent of seats and paralyzing the parliament.

Speaking earlier this month, the European Parliament’s former president, Martin Schulz, slammed such populists as only being concerned with “my nation, my religion and my interest first.”

The major pro-European group in the parliament, the European People’s Party (EPP), which unites center-right and liberal-conservative parties, has been shaken recently from within. Its Hungarian member, populist party Fidesz, put up a series of billboards aimed at billionaire George Soros and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

After being accused of conducting an “anti-Brussels campaign” and threatened with expulsion from the EPP, Fidesz said they would replace the billboards with ones urging Hungarians to have more children.

However, the party’s leader, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Fidesz may still leave the EPP in the near future, if discussions over the EPP’s future policy didn’t shift to a more anti-immigrant platform. Speaking to voters on Hungarian radio, Orban proposed the formation of a new political grouping in the EU Parliament, with Poland’s PiS to be the first like-minded party contacted.

Seriously, did he read my blog post at the link above?

In April, expect French or EU authorities to drum up another absurd charge of corruption against Marine Le Pen. It happens every election, national or EU.

PMO Denies 'Hostility' in Trudeau's Interactions with Female Liberal MP

Celina Caesar-Chavannes told the Globe and Mail
Trudeau yelled at her

The Prime Minister's Office says there was "absolutely no hostility" from Justin Trudeau towards Liberal MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes, despite allegations she's made against him.

It was just a month ago Trudeau declared, “The allegations in the Globe story this morning are false.” Denial seems to be the automatic response.

The Whitby, Ont., MP says she was met with anger and hostility from the prime minister after she informed him she would not be seeking re-election in October.

Caesar-Chavannes made the announcement last weekend, but informed Trudeau weeks earlier on Feb. 12.

It was around that time the negative encounters happened, the MP first told the Globe and Mail.

Because of Jody Wilson-Raybould's fresh resignation from cabinet, she told the Globe that Trudeau had asked her to wait for her own announcement and that he was worried about the optics of having two women of colour leave at the same time (Wilson-Reybould is indigenous).

"He was yelling. He was yelling that I didn't appreciate him, that he'd given me so much," Caesar-Chavannes told that newspaper.

A real feminist is concerned for the well-being and happiness of women.
A pseudo-feminist is worried about optics.
A narcissist thinks it is all about him.

She alleges the hostility continued in interactions after that conversation.

Since she informed the PM that she was not running again, another very high profile, female, cabinet minister, Jane Philpott, Treasury Board president and minister of digital government, stepped down in disagreement with the PMO's position on the SNC-Lavalin affair. That's 3 women abandoning Trudeau the world's most self-declared male feminist.

Matt Pascuzzo, a spokesman for the PMO, says while there was no question the conversations in February were "frank," there was "absolutely no hostility."

Women, often being victims of hostility, are certainly more sensitive to a man, especially a powerful man, raising his voice. That man might perceive it as just expressing a little emotion. The woman might perceive it as a threat, and for good reason.

Caesar-Chavannes declined to comment for this story.

'Remember your reactions?'

Earlier on Thursday while responding to allegations surrounding the SNC-Lavalin controversy, Trudeau said he hoped members of his caucus felt comfortable coming to him with issues.

"I did come to you recently. Twice. Remember your reactions?" Caesar-Chavannes tweeted after his comment.

The prime minister doubled down on his messaging at an event in Ottawa on Saturday morning, saying the SNC-Lavalin affair is giving him pause to think about the way things have been dealt with.

That might be the closest we ever get to an admission of moral failure, or an apology.

Trudeau's office denies the conversations with her turned sour to the point of animosity.

"The prime minister has deep respect for Celina Caesar-Chavannes," Pascuzzo said in the email to CBC News.

"As the prime minister said on Thursday, he is committed to fostering an environment where ministers, caucus, and staff feel comfortable approaching him when they have concerns or disagreements – that happened here."

Right!

Caesar-Chavannes worked closely with the prime minister, including a stint as his parliamentary secretary until early 2017.

Greenpeace Founder: Global Warming Hoax Pushed by Corrupt Scientists ‘Hooked on Government Grants’

Now understand one thing. He is not saying the planet isn't warming up, he is saying that the theory that it is anthropogenically driven is a construct to generate hysteria resulting in wealth and power to some.

The climate issue is the biggest threat to the Enlightenment that has occurred since Galileo.
Nothing else comes close to it. This is as bad a thing that has happened to science in the history of science.

Greenpeace co-founder and former president of Greenpeace Canada Patrick Moore described the cynical and corrupt machinations fueling the narrative of anthropocentric global warming and “climate change” in a Wednesday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.

Moore explained how fear and guilt are leveraged by proponents of climate change:

Fear has been used all through history to gain control of people’s minds and wallets and all else, and the climate catastrophe is strictly a fear campaign — well, fear and guilt — you’re afraid you’re killing your children because you’re driving them in your SUV and emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and you feel guilty for doing that. There’s no stronger motivation than those two.

Scientists are co-opted and corrupted by politicians and bureaucracies invested in advancing the narrative of “climate change” in order to further centralize political power and control, explained Moore.

Moore noted how “green” companies parasitize taxpayers via favorable regulations and subsidies ostensibly justified by the aforementioned narrative’s claimed threats, all while enjoying propagandistic protection across news media”

And so you’ve got the green movement creating stories that instill fear in the public. You’ve got the media echo chamber — fake news — repeating it over and over and over again to everybody that they’re killing their children. And then you’ve got the green politicians who are buying scientists with government money to produce fear for them in the form of scientific-looking materials. And then you’ve got the green businesses, the rent-seekers, and the crony capitalists who are taking advantage of massive subsidies, huge tax write-offs, and government mandates requiring their technologies to make a fortune on this. And then, of course, you’ve got the scientists who are willingly, they’re basically hooked on government grants.

When they talk about the 99 percent consensus [among scientists] on climate change, that’s a completely ridiculous and false number. But most of the scientists — put it in quotes, scientists — who are pushing this catastrophic theory are getting paid by public money, they are not being paid by General Electric or Dupont or 3M to do this research, where private companies expect to get something useful from their research that might produce a better product and make them a profit in the end because people want it — build a better mousetrap type of idea. But most of what these so-called scientists are doing is simply producing more fear so that politicians can use it to control people’s minds and get their votes because some of the people are convinced, ‘Oh, this politician can save my kid from certain doom.’

The narrative of anthropogenic global warming or “climate change” is an existential threat to reason, warned Moore:

It is the biggest lie since people thought the Earth was at the center of the universe. This is Galileo-type stuff. If you remember, Galileo discovered that the sun was at the center of the solar system and the Earth revolved around it. He was sentenced to death by the Catholic Church, and only because he recanted was he allowed to live in house arrest for the rest of his life.

So this was around the beginning of what we call the Enlightenment, when science became the way in which we gained knowledge instead of using superstition and instead of using invisible demons and whatever else, we started to understand that you have to have observation of actual events and then you have to repeat those observations over and over again, and that is basically the scientific method.

“But this abomination that is occurring today in the climate issue is the biggest threat to the Enlightenment that has occurred since Galileo,” declared Moore. “Nothing else comes close to it. This is as bad a thing that has happened o science in the history of science.”

Moore concluded, “It’s taking over science with superstition and a kind of toxic combination of religion and political ideology. There is no truth to this. It is a complete hoax and scam.”

A Quick Sketch to Outline the Scandal in Canada That is Casting Dark Shadows Across the Face of Justin Trudeau

Corruption is Everywhere
- Even in the Office of Canada's Far-Left Mr. Sunshine
National Observer

For 16 years the global engineering and construction giant SNC-Lavalin cultivated a close relationship with the Muammar Gaddafi family, particularly his son Saadi.

According to criminal charges, for almost a decade of that period, up until the fall of the regime, SNC paid Saadi Gaadafi almost $50 million in exchange for billions of dollars in airport, pipeline, and water infrastructure projects.

Saadi Gadaffi
Oh, and prisons.

Let's go over that again.

A Canadian company is charged with bribing a family infamous around the world for murder, torture, rape, abductions, and widespread human rights abuses, and doing it for its own profit. They didn't stop until the regime collapsed in 2011 and Swiss authorities came knocking. Charges were laid in April 2015.

A corruption prosecution of this gravity is unprecedented in Canada.

Moreover, had the Libyan regime not collapsed and the bribery discovered, would this company still be in the game, still arranging prostitute parties and funnelling money to the Gaddafis?

It's highly significant that SNC is no stranger to disciplinary action over its conduct. During the 2001-2011 period of the alleged Libyan bribery, the company has:

been barred from bidding on Asian Development Bank projects for fabricating qualifications and documents (2004);
settled corruption allegations with the African Development Bank over bribes in Mozambique (2008) and Uganda (2010);
bribed Canadian officials with $22.5 million in relation to a McGill hospital contract (2009);
been credibly found by the World Bank as participating in high-level corruption in Bangladesh in 2009-2010, and entered into a voluntary debarment from World Bank-financed projects. (SNC-Lavalin has since been acquitted of criminal charges, but the voluntary debarment remains in place);
entered into a voluntary agreement to compensate seven Quebec municipalities for obtaining contracts through questionable means (1996-2011);
made illegal federal election campaign donations (2004-2011), entering into a voluntary compliance agreement with the federal elections commissioner

SNC knowingly enabled and overlooked monstrous tyranny and abuse.

The company cannot pretend it was unaware of Gaddafi's vicious cruelty while expensing his son Saadi Gaddafi's prostitutes, lavish lifestyle, and showering him with millions of dollars a year.

The company financed his soccer aspirations and sponsored his team despite widespread reports that, just a few years earlier, his bodyguards had opened fire on soccer fans for booing a referee favouring him. Between 20 and 50 were killed in the ensuing chaos.

Then there was Bashir al-Rayani, a professional soccer coach who challenged Saadi Gaddafi in 2005, only to disappear shortly before his bludgeoned body was dumped near his home.

A brief search and one can find more horror stories associated with SNC-Lavalin. But that should be sufficient to indicate that this company has little or no regard for the law or for any of the myriad people adversely affected by their relentless bribery.

Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper put in place a law that forbids companies convicted of corruption from bidding on federal infrastructure contracts for 10 years. But as soon as Justin Trudeau and his very Liberal Party won the election in 2015, SNC began intense lobbying of the government to find a solution that didn't involve going to trial.

SNC and the very Liberals cam up with a law that is used in a few countries, including Britain, called Deferred Prosecution Agreement. It is basically a plea deal. The very Liberals snuck the new law into the bowels of a large omnibus federal budget, and it passed without scrutiny in the Spring budget of 2018.

However, Canada's senior Public Prosecutor decided it wasn't in the best interests of Canadians, or probably anyone else in the world, to offer SNC a DPA. Two weeks later, Canada's Attorney General, Jody Wilson-Reybould, agreed with her and informed SNC that they would not be getting a DPA offer.

Well, __it hit the fan! SNC began frantic lobbying of the Trudeau government, which, in turn, began pressuring the Attorney General to reconsider. For months, everyone from the Prime Minister, his senior staff, the Clerk of the Privy Council, pressed Wilson-Reybould to reconsider.

SNC-Lavalin threatened the government with thousands of lost jobs and even moving its headquarters from Montreal to London. Trudeau panicked. One of the very first things he mentioned to the AG when he next met her was to remind her of the job losses and that he was the MP for Papineau, a riding in Montreal where many of those workers lived.

The AG asked the PM if he was interfering with her decision and he backed off. Meanwhile the PM's Chief of Staff, Gerald Butts informed the AG's Chief of Staff that there was no solution that did not involve interference.

From here the sort gets even less believable. In January, a Halifax MP and cabinet minister, Scott Brison. suddenly decided he had to retire. He hadn't talked about it to anyone. People were amazed that no-one had any idea he was thinking of retiring. I strongly suspect that he had no idea himself until just before it happened.

This resulted in a mini cabinet shuffle, and guess who go shuffled? The Attorney General, Jody Wilson-Raybould. She was replaced with a new AG, an MP, would you believe, from Montreal, who seems a lot more amenable to offering SNC-Lavalin a DPA. Except, __it hit the fan again.

Someone leaked the story to Toronto's Globe and Mail newspaper and all hell breaks loose. Trudeau flatly denies the story saying it is completely untrue, that no pressure was applied to the AG, she was not threatened, they just had to have a cabinet shuffle because Scott Brison resigned.

A few days later, Jody Wilson-Reybould resigned from her new cabinet position stating that she has lots confidence in the Prime Minister.

The parliamentary justice committee, dominated by very Liberals was pressured into holding investigations into the affair. At first they didn't want to allow anyone of any importance to speak to the committee. A brilliant, young CBC digital reporter suggested the inquiry into the fox and the henhouse was restricting evidence to the mouse and the rusty lawnmower. I think she nailed it.

Finally they agreed to call the clerk of the Privy Council, Canada's top bureaucrat, and, supposedly, non-political. His testimony was anything but non-political. Eventually, JWR, herself, got to testify, although limited somewhat by Cabinet Privilege.

With documentation, she contradicted some of the Clerk's testimony and exposed the pressure, the political angle, and the fact that she told the PM she had made up her mind way back in September and that all the pressure was tantamount to political interference, and it had to stop. It stopped over Christmas holidays and immediately after she was moved from the portfolio.

Whether she was threatened with removal she will not say because of cabinet privilege. The Clerk was invited back to Committee to rebut JWR's testimony but before he could do that another high profile female cabinet minister resigned. Jane Philpott was a former health minister and Indigenous-services minister, and was president of the federal Treasury Board when she quit the cabinet. Philpott was widely seen as one of Trudeau's most capable ministers.

Philpott quit in solidarity with JWR stating that she cannot support the government line on the whole affair. The government accused her of being JWR's friend!!! Like it just a couple of emotional women, not two of the most respected and capable ministers in the very Liberal government. The rest of his cabinet, like trained monkeys, chanted the mantra - "the PM has my full confidence!"

Trudeau refuses to accept responsibility for the affair and, in all probability, will find a way out of the situation for SNC-Lavalin to avoid justice. He has followers who believe so emphatically in his righteousness that they cannot see what is so plainly visible. He's a politician. A very ambitious politician. Canadian PM is nowhere near the pinnacle of his political ambitions. He, I believe, is determined to be the saviour of the world.

More on Trudeau later... meanwhile -

SNC Lavalin had gone to court seeking a review of the decision by the federal director of public prosecutions last fall to not enter negotiations so desperately sought by the firm’s executives. Today, the Federal Court has struck down SNC-Lavalin‘s appeal.

The new Attorney General has a hard decision to make, and while he may get lots of encouragement to make it, chances are, if he decides to offer SNC a plea deal, his encouragers will be nowhere to be found come October and federal election time.

Surprised and Delighted, So Far, With Merkel's Successor - AKK

‘Tensest people in world’: Merkel’s successor doubles down on ‘third gender joke’ after outrage

Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, the CDU head © Global Look Press / Danny Gohlke

Facing a barrage of criticism over her “third gender joke,” the new head of the Christian Democratic Union, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, has shown no remorse. Instead, she attacked Germany’s overzealous political correctness.

In an unusual outburst, the leader of one of Germany’s major parties and hand-picked successor of Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is known for her liberal stance towards migration and multiculturalism, has assaulted Germany’s ‘sacred cow’ – political correctness.

“Today, I have a feeling that we are the tensest people out of all, who roams this world,” Kramp-Karrenbauer, who is commonly referred to as AKK, said at an annual traditional Ash Wednesday party reserved by politicians for mocking opponents and allies alike in a jocular manner. However, it seems AKK was not joking this time.

“If we're so rigid, as has been the case in the past few days, then a piece of tradition and culture in Germany will be lost, and we shouldn't allow that,” she said, adding that “it just cannot go on like this.”

Her rant was provoked by the public outrage that followed a joke she made at another traditional German carnival-like event – the Jester’s Court mock trial in late February. At that time, the CDU head quipped that bathrooms for the third gender installed in Berlin were apparently reserved for “men who can’t decide if they want to sit or stand when they pee.”

‘Speech police’

The joke then sparked a wave of outrage from LGBT-activists as well as from politicians from virtually all sides of the political spectrum. The opposition Green and Left parties’ members, as well as pro-business Free Democrats and even CDU’s coalition partners from the Social Democratic Parties, all competed in devising increasingly ingenious ways of slamming the fresh conservative leader.

Berlin's Deputy Mayor Klaus Lederer called her words a “travesty” and a senior member of the Left Party, Dietmar Bartsch even said it was “another reason to fight against this woman becoming chancellor.”

Support came from where it was least expected as the co-chair of the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD), Joerg Meuthen, suddenly came to AKK’s defense, even though his party is traditionally known for its sharp criticism of the Christian Democrats.

“Relying on her residual conservatism …Kramp-Karrenbauer dared to target the idiocy of the so-called ‘third gender,’” he wrote in a Facebook post in early March, adding that “it could not, of course, be tolerated in the Left-Green madhouse of Germany.”

The speech police of the permanently offended ones should have been, of course, immediately deployed. Whether it is carnival time or not,
it cannot play any role in such an important case.

On Wednesday, AKK herself said that the barrage of criticism and calls for her to apologize only “show how bad the situation must be with those,” who attacked her over her joke.

She also received some backing from a regional CDU head, Vincent Kokert, who said that his party would not allow any “speech police” to spoil the carnival fun. He also said that equal rights also mean a right to make fun of everything and everyone.

We do not need any instruction as to what equality means.

What happens here is ‘madness’

In a stark deviation from the course pursued by Angela Merkel, who rarely allowed herself to diverge from the mainstream pro-multiculturalism line and was usually reserved in her statements, her successor seemingly set out to continue her crusade against political correctness.

She particularly weighed in on another recent hot topic involving a Hamburg kindergarten advising parents against letting their children wear costumes of American Indians at a carnival party, deeming it “insensitive” and “offensive.”

This is all sheer madness what happens here.

The CDU head said she wants to see a Germany, “where children can just be children” and can dress up as cowboys or Indians or anyone else “without anyone telling them at the age of three that they have to be culturally sensitive.” The issue already unleashed a wave of criticism from politicians and apparently still occupies the minds of at least some of them.

Most recently, the leader of the CDU’s Bavarian allies, the Christian Social Union, Markus Soeder, mocked the whole debate about political correctness in kindergartens by saying that it turns Germany into a laughing stock.

If the world knew about what nonsense we are quarrelling about,
the world would have lost all fear of and respect for us.
We should again come to our senses.

Frankly, Herr Soeder, it's that same madness in all liberal countries.

Germany was Definitely Not Ready for Merkel's Emotional Acceptance of a Million Muslims

German police failed to probe THOUSANDS of tip-offs on refugees
suspected of war crimes – reports

FILE PHOTO © Reuters / Michael Dalder

Thousands of war crime-themed cases involving asylum-seekers were referred to the German authorities in recent years, but only a small portion of them was eventually picked up for investigation, a new report has found.

From 2014 to early 2019, the German migration and refugee services referred around 5,000 cases of “crimes under international law” to the police and the attorney general but only 129 cases ended up being investigated, Bild reported on Thursday.

This included the time between 2015 and 2016 when the nation saw a spike in the influx of migrants and asylum-seekers from the Middle East, Afghanistan and Sub-Saharan Africa. Some 3,800 referrals were filed during that period. Only 28 of those prompted an investigation.

Why, because the police had no department set up to investigate these referrals and certainly did not have the resources to do it out of existing departments. Germany was not ready, not by a long shot.

The data was revealed following an official request lodged by the opposition Free Democratic Party (FDP), according to the paper. The report in the media didn’t provide the breakdown of the cases and didn’t specify the countries of origin of the persons involved.

The spokesperson for the Interior Ministry told the paper that the “large number of referrals prevented immediate investigation of each case.”

Lawmaker Linda Teuteberg (FDP), who sits on the parliamentary interior affairs committee, said that war criminals should not be granted protection in Germany.

“I have doubts as to whether the federal government has always pursued this with the necessary seriousness in the past few years,” Teuteberg said.

Now there's an understatement!

The effects of migration flows on national security remain a point of contention in Germany as foreign nationals have committed a number of high-profile terror attacks in recent years.

In 2016, Anis Amri, a failed asylum seeker from Tunisia, drove a truck through a Christmas market in Berlin, killing 12 people.

Media reports said that, nine months before the tragedy, the state police in North Rhine-Westphalia had notified the state’s interior ministry that Amri was planning a suicide attack.

However, the authorities left the notice unanswered and ruled that the man couldn’t be deported.

How utterly insane is that? The Interior Ministry has the blood of those 12 people on its hands.

Jury Finds French Jihadist Guilty of Killing Israeli Couple and 2 Museum Staffers

Mehdi Nemmouche allegedly fought alongside jihadist rebels in Syria before returning to Europe.
(Belgian federal police/Associated Press)

A Belgian court says a Frenchman suspected of working for the Islamic State group in Syria has been found guilty of gunning down four people at a Jewish museum in 2014, making him the first European foreign fighter to be convicted of terror offences.

Judge Laurence Massart read the jury's verdict issued Thursday that said "Mehdi Nemmouche is guilty of committing four terrorist murders."

An Israeli couple and two staffers at the museum in Brussels were killed on May 24, 2014.

The museum shooting crystalized fears that European extremists would use combat experience from places like Syria to sow terror back home.

This unfortunate report doesn't make clear when Nemmouche went to Syria or when he returned, although it appears he went and returned before May 2014, that is pretty early in the ISIS assault on Syria and was when they were winning. It seems odd that he would leave when they appeared to have the caliphate in site. But then, radical Islamists aren't know for making logical decisions.

The 33-year-old Nemmouche sat impassively while the verdict was read.

Nemmouche could face up to 30 years in prison. The judge is expected to impose the sentence Friday.

An alleged accomplice, Nacer Bendrer, was found guilty of supplying the revolver and assault rifle used in the slayings.
