Syria - What's Next? > Evicting Alawites from Damascus - stealing their homes; Sharia gaining strength in Syria

There Is, in Syria, a Hideous Effort to Reduce Alawites to Poverty

There is, in Syria, a hideous effort to reduce Alawites to poverty and to enrich, at their expense, the very people who have made them abandon their property:

Held at gunpoint, with minutes to leave:

How Syria evicts Alawites from their homes

by Amina Ismail, Jerusalem Post, May 3, 2025:

For more than 50 years, Assad and his father before him crushed any opposition from Syria’s Sunni Muslims, who make up more than 70% of the population. Alawites took many of the top positions in government and the military and ran big businesses.

They now accuse supporters of Sharaa, who once ran an al Qaeda affiliate, of systematically abusing them as payback….

No other conclusion is possible. Despite that reassuring rhetoric, al-Sharaa has done nothing concrete to help the Alawites. When Alawites by the thousands were being murdered in Latakia, al-Sharaa did not send in troops to protect them. Nor has he done anything since about finding and punishing the Sunni Muslims who murdered the Alawites. In Damascus itself, hundreds, if not thousands of Alawite families have seen their houses seized and they are now out on the street, unless they are lucky enough to have relatives, most likely in Latakia, willing to take them in. Al-Sharaa knows all about the evictions, but as with the murders of Alawites in Latakia, has done nothing to stop them.

Two government officials said thousands of people had been kicked out of homes in Damascus since Assad was toppled by Sharaa’s rebel force, with the majority being Alawites.

The officials said most resided in government housing associated with their jobs in state institutions and, since they were no longer employed, they had lost their right to stay….

Why were these people no longer employed by the state? What was their fault? Were they really part of the Assad government’s terror state? Or was it only the fact of their being Alawites that condemned them to such barbarous treatment by Sunnis determined to take over their property?

As long as the Sunnis in Syria continue to wage war on the minorities — so far they have killed more than a thousand Alawites in Latakia and evicted many thousands of them from their homes in Damascus, and attacked the Druze in Jaramana and Sahnaya, two suburbs of the capital city — those minorities will not put any faith in Ahmed al-Sharaa’s assurances about inclusion and equal treatment. To protect the Druze, Israel has hit Sunni Muslims threatening the Druze suburbs, and even managed to conduct airstrikes all around the perimeter of the presidential palace in Damascus, as a way to warn al-Sharaa to protect the Druze. And since those airstrikes, IDF troops on the ground have moved northward from the Golan, providing enhanced protection to more of the Druze villages.

On April 16, STJ filed a complaint with the Damascus Suburbs Directorate, calling for an end to “sectarian-motivated” property violations and the return of looted properties.

It is doubtful that the Sunni Muslims will be stopped by a complaint from the STJ. Al-Sharaa surely knew what has been going on in Damascus ever since January, when the security services first started their evictions of Alawites.

Assad’s father Hafez al-Assad moved Alawites from coastal areas to urban centers to help cement his powerbase. He set up military installations and housing units for troops and their families around Damascus, where Alawites, who were over-represented in the army, made up a significant portion of the population, according to Fabrice Balanche, a Syria expert and associate professor at the University of Lyon 2 in France.

Balanche estimated that half a million Alawites have moved to coastal areas after being evicted from the capital, Homs, as well as Aleppo and other parts of Syria following Assad’s fall.

That’s a huge number of evictions of Alawites from homes all over Syria, that has received no attention in the Western media. Half a million Alawites, within less than four months, have been evicted from their homes, not just in Damascus, but also in Homs, Aleppo, and other cities, and have now sought safety in the Alawite stronghold of Latakia. The total Alawite population in Syria is between two and three million, so a very large percentage of the Alawites have now lost their homes to Sunnis. Nothing will assuage their despair and fury, nor will they ever trust the assurances of Ahmed al-Sharaa, whom they are sure knew about and did nothing to stop — and some think he may even have encouraged — these evictions.

Syria: Masked men in military uniforms attack store selling alcohol, threaten to kill Christian town’s residents

Islamic apologists in the West routinely insist that Sharia applies only to Muslims. This is the reality.

Amid threats to kill Christians | Masked men in military uniform attack alcoholic beverages store in Homs countryside

SOHR, May 5, 2025

(thanks to The Religion of Peace):

…In this context, SOHR activists have reported that a group of masked men in military uniform attacked a store selling alcoholic beverages in Rablah town, which is inhabited mostly by Christian citizens, in Al-Qusayr countryside in Homs. The gunmen assaulted a young man who was in the store at the time of the attack, sabotaged the store’s contents and stole money.

Before leaving the area, the gunmen threatened to kill the town’s residents, called residents as “infidels” and insulted the Christian religion and its symbols.

Last night, gunmen stormed Al-Karawan night club in Al-Hejaz area in Damascus city and opened machinegun fire indiscriminately, killing a female dancer and injuring other persons, before they left the night club. The gunmen did not announce their affiliation, while no bodies or authorities claimed responsibility for the attack….

Sounds like Sharia is gaining strength in Syria as fundamentalist Muslims take over.

Middle East Madness > Civil War in Turkey, again? Erdogan recalls troops from Syria; Syria's Alawite Apocalypto; EU gives Terrorists $4.6bn; Canada gives them $100mn

But for a couple of outlets, Western media has refused to cover the massacres happening in coastal Syria. Meanwhile, Western governments can't send money fast enough to the terrorists in charge. Quelle Folie - What Madness!

Civil War In Turkey, Erdogan Forced To Pull Troops Out Of Syria

March 20, 2025 3.3K views

Erdogan’s move to arrest the mayor of Istanbul, his main presidential rival and his rival’s associates has sparked unforeseen mass protests across Turkey. Will this create mass chaos across the Middle East or allow Israel to finally vanquish its enemies?

The protests have even spread to Ankara the capital and have forced Erdogan to call in the army to defend him against the protestors as well as soldiers stationed in bases in Syria. Erdogan did not expect such a tidal wave of anger towards his move, but protestors are not backing down and have said to have now taken over the Justice Ministry in Ankara. Reports are coming out of Turkey that the rebels who are calling for the overthrow of Erdogan are in control of Gaziantep a city close to Syria of about two million residents.

The protestors who are also being called rebels appear to enjoy widespread support across Turkey with even voices in the parliament coming out and calling for Erdogan’s removal.

This sudden turn of events has massive implications for the region. Until Erdogan’s move to arrest the mayor of Istanbul, Turkey was on the march in Syria and elsewhere. In fact, without Turkey, the new regime in Syria would have little chance of survival. Turkey (during Erdogan’s tenure) and Qatar have always been the Muslim Brotherhood axis in the Sunni world opposing the Sunni Gulf States of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE. With Turkey quite possibly in the throes of what appears to be some sort of revolution or civil war, Qatar has lost the muscle it needs to take control of the Middle East.

The effects on Israel will be felt immediately. Israel can further assert more control over southern Syria as the Jihadists in Damascus can no longer rely on their biggest military backer - the Erdogan government. More than this, Qatar’s ability to project power across the region is clearly waning and with that, Israel can finally push forward and destroy Hamas once and for all.

That would all be nice, but don't count Erdogan out while he still controls the military. He can put down the rebellion and move into Syria to confront Israel. That, I believe, has been a long-term ambition of his along with rebuilding the Ottoman Empire.

What the Alawites Suffered was Much,

Much Worse Than Reported

Fanatical Sunnis in Syria, both those who belong to the new regime’s security services, and those civilians determined to wreak their revenge on Alawites for supposedly supporting their fellow Alawite Bashar Assad (some did, some did not), were reported laconically as having “killed 800-1000” Alawites. The killings, which took place in the Alawite stronghold of Latakia, claimed many more victims, and were accompanied by more atrocities, than has been reported in the Western media. More details about those attacks can be found here:

Syrian Apocalypto: terrorists rip out a heart and eat it

by Giulio Meotti, Israel National News, March 18, 2025:

In “Apocalypto”, Mel Gibson’s film about the Mayans that was hit by a wave of controversy for the horrifying scenes of violence depicted by the director, there is a civilization in which barbarism dominates, man is worth nothing and human sacrifice is practiced.

As the German Jewish philosopher Leo Strauss said, lashing out at relativism, “if everything is the same, then cannibalism is just a matter of taste”.

I have seen a vide of a Syrian terrorist who cuts the chest of a man who is still alive while others hold him down, extracts his heart and eats it for the cameras.

The BBC had already interviewed a Syrian terrorist who tears out a heart and eats it.

An appeal by French intellectuals and scholars was published in Le Point: “Several thousand Alawite civilians have been massacred in recent days in Syria by the forces of the Islamist regime. Newborns, children, elderly people, women, men: hundreds of videos, authenticated by various press outlets and NGOs, testify to systematic summary executions with the clear will to annihilate a people considered heretical”.

The Spectator called it “the massacre of the innocents” in the only European cover dedicated to this barbarity.

American scholar Joshua Landis published the list of the dead in just one village, Snawbar: 196 people. Entire Alawite families wiped out.

CNN also reviewed the footage and found 80 bodies in just one village.

Officially, the death toll is 1,300. According to many humanitarian organizations, the real figure is between 3,000 and 8,000. Summary executions, beatings with iron bars, machine guns, throats slit with knives, houses set on fire: not even women and children are spared. The Alawites are called khanazir (pigs) and kilab (dogs) before being slaughtered.

Even Alawites who were prisoners of the Assad regime and passed through Sidnaya prison are murdered simply because they are not Sunni.

In the West, only Marco Rubio and Tulsi Gabbart [sic] in the United States have openly denounced the massacres, while European capitals have dismissed Assad supporters and “isolated” jihadists.

The influx of “volunteers” has come from all over the country after calls for the eradication of “Nosayris” (another name for Alawites) and “Khanazir” were spread in mosques. The Islamic factions affiliated with the terrorist Al-Julani have set fires in the countryside of the Syrian coast, where thousands of displaced people have taken refuge, hiding among the trees and bushes….

Syria: ‘7,000 massacres of Christians and Alawites,’ and EU gives $4,600,000,000 to jihadi regime

“The European Commission will provide new humanitarian support to Syrians, both inside Syria and in neighbouring countries, for an amount of €235 million for 2025. Following the collapse of the former government in Damascus, the EU is working at all levels to boost humanitarian aid delivery, including through launching Humanitarian Air Bridge flights. — European Commission, January 17, 2025.

This is what that money has bought: 7,000 murdered Christians and Alawites.

And wait, it gets worse:

“International donors on Monday pledged almost $6.5 billion in aid for Syria, hoping to encourage the new leaders of the conflict-ravaged country toward a peaceful political transition after the ouster of President Bashar Assad in December.

Ministers and representatives from Western partners, Syria’s regional neighbors, other Arab countries and U.N. agencies attended the one-day meeting in Brussels, organized in haste by the European Union amid change sweeping the country. The European Commission said $4.6 billion was offered in the form of grants, and $1.7 billion in low-interest loans. Some of the money was pledged over multiple years, making it extremely difficult to calculate an amount for 2025.” — Associated Press, March 18, 2025

So after the new Syrian regime began murdering Alawites and Christians, the European Union decided to give it billions.

Europe is governed by a traitor class. In the U.S., that traitor class governed until January 20, 2025, and is still in control in many areas of the government.

Syria: Over 7,000 Christians and Alawites Massacred

by New Jihadi Terrorist Regime

by Uzay Bulut, European Conservative, March 17, 2025:

Since al-Qaeda-affiliated Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) conquered Damascus with the help of Turkey in December 2024, HTS fighters and Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) militants have committed massacres against religious minorities in the country. Social media posts show Alawite or Christian men, women, and children barbarically shot at close range. And the death toll is increasing.

The Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch and all the East, John X, said during a sermon on March 9th:

The bloody events taking place on the Syrian coast left many dead and wounded. … In many cities, towns, and villages, their houses were burnt, and their properties have been stolen. The targeted areas were the places of Alawites and Christians. Many innocent Christian victims were also killed. Residents of some of those places were forced to leave their homes. Then they were shot and killed. Then their houses, property, and cars were stolen.

On the invitation of Patriarch John X, Greek MEP Nikolas Farantouris, who is a member of the Security and Defense Committee, the Constitutional Affairs Committee, and the Budgets Committee of the European Parliament, paid a two-day visit to Syria’s capital, Damascus, on March 8-9.

In a statement Farantouris made following his visit, he said:

Reliable data indicate 7,000 massacres of Christians and Alawites and unprecedented atrocities against civilians. Christian and other communities with a presence in these parts for over a thousand years are at risk of extinction. The new Islamic regime is leading Syria into an Islamic state and is claiming that it cannot control the paramilitaries and their affiliated gangs who attack innocent civilians.

I call on the Greek Government and the entire political world of the country, the European Institutions and the governments of the Member States, to act NOW. Neither Greece nor the EU can continue to show tolerance and limit themselves to ceremonial visits and courtesies with the Islamic regime for investments and ‘business’ while thousands of civilians are being massacred under its tolerance if not its guidance.

In an interview with Greek Kontra TV, Farantouris said, “The situation [in Syria] has spiraled out of control. The West is watching the atrocities of the new Syrian regime as if nothing is happening. Actions are needed here and now. The slaughter of hundreds of civilians continues.”…

What madness is pushing left-leaning countries to pour millions and billions of dollars into a country led by people who are declared terrorists?

Canada to send $84 million to Syria bringing the total to more than $100 million.

Global Affairs, Canada

As part of today’s announcement, Canada is providing $84 million in new funding for humanitarian assistance to Syria. Canada is also taking steps to ease existing sanctions for a period of 6 months, to support democratization, stabilization, and the delivery of aid to and within Syria during this period of transition.

It is also helping Syria commit genocide against Alawites and Christians, and would include Druze if Israel were not protecting them.

This gift of money that we can't afford is far too premature and should be illegal since the Canadian Parliament is prorogued.
