Islam in Canada > Muslim Profanes Quebec Church; Langara College reinstates teacher who praised Hamas' Oct 7th Terrorist attack; Synagogue vandalized on Holocaust Remembrance Day

Quebec: Muslim enters church during mass,

sets down prayer rug, prays Islamic prayers

As you can see from the video, the priest has no problem with it. He has been intensively programmed to believe that we all worship the same God, and that it is imperative upon him to be generous and welcoming to our Muslim sisters and brothers. That’s terrific, but one wonders if this priest ever stops to ask himself why his generosity is never reciprocated, and what would happen to a Christian who entered a mosque during Islamic prayer and began to pray Christian prayers. Nor does he look into the content of those Islamic prayers and ponder what they teach about Christianity, and if it’s really wise to encourage this sort of prayer inside a church.

What’s more, the church is now a mosque, should any Muslim wish to claim it. This is in accord with the apocryphal but generally accepted statement attributed to the caliph Umar. Legend has it that when the Muslims conquered Jerusalem in the year 637, Sophronius, the Patriarch of Jerusalem, invited the caliph Umar to pray in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Umar declined, explaining that if he did, the Muslims would convert the church into a mosque, as Muslim prayers had been uttered there. The assumption was and is that where Muslim prayers have been uttered, the place belongs to Islam and Muslims.

Allah, is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Allah is a moon-god, and has no Son. Allah, through Mohammed, put the Arabs back under the Law, whereas the Son of God completed the Law for all mankind. The courageous Absi would like to see all Christians back under the Law, not Mosaic Law, but Sharia Law. The priest here did nothing to discourage him, and allowed his church to be profaned.

Canada: College reinstates teacher who called Oct. 7

‘amazing, brilliant offensive,’

In late October, the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver (JFGV) urged Vancouver’s Langara College in the province of British Columbia to fire English instructor Natalie Knight for praising the savage October 7 attacks. According to CTV News, “Knight called the October 7 attacks by Hamas that left 1,400 (1200) Israelis dead and hundreds more kidnapped, ‘the amazing, brilliant offensive waged on October 7.

A terrorist massacre is now an 'offensive'! And she is teaching English?

The CEO of the JFGV, Ezra Shanken, noted that “it’s a criminal offence to glorify terrorism in Canada, and believes authorities should act.” Langara College put Knight on leave, but apparently (in hindsight) only in order to calm the public outrage.

Fast forward to January 23: Langara College’s student newspaper, The Voice, “reported that the college would be reinstating Natalie Knight.” Knight then boasted:

“I’ve been reinstated as an instructor with no disciplinary actions, which means we won.”

Yes, you won, decency and sanity lost, but you won.

As Dennis Prager recently noted about campuses:

Universities have become society’s primary breeding ground for hatred of Israel. This hatred is often so intense that the college campus has become a haven for people who use anti-Zionism to mask their anti-Semitism.

In Knight’s case, her antisemitism was blatant, yet Langara College is sending the message that antisemitism, even to a level that breaches the criminal code, is perfectly acceptable.

Aside from the Langara’s reprehensible embrace of Knight, she has also escaped accountability for her breach of Canada’s hate laws, at least for now, as well as for “glorifying terrorism in Canada” — a country that insists that it has zero tolerance for hate.

Vancouver Jewish Community Concerned by Possible

Reinstatement of Langara College Instructor

Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs, January 24, 2024:

Vancouver, B.C. – January 24, 2024 – Yesterday, Langara College’s student newspaper, The Voice reported that the college would be reinstating Natalie Knight, who, at an October 28 rally, referred to the October 7 terrorist attacks committed by Hamas as “amazing, brilliant.”

Knight had been on leave since October 31, 2023, while the college conducted an investigation. According to The Voice, Knight spoke at a protest yesterday (January 23) claiming “I’ve been reinstated as an instructor with no disciplinary actions, which means we won.”

In response, Nico Slobinsky, Vice President Pacific Region, Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, said:

“Should Knight’s claim of reinstatement be true, it would be profoundly disappointing. This decision would send the very concerning message to Jewish and Israeli students, faculty, and staff that antisemitism is tolerated at Langara College.

“As an instructor, Knight has a responsibility to create a safe environment for all students, as does the college. Her actions at the October 28 rally, where she referred to the October 7 terrorist attacks committed by Hamas – the largest murder of Jews since the Holocaust – as “brilliant, amazing” compromised the safety of Langara’s Jewish community.

“Comments like the one made by Knight are not innocuous. Antisemitic rhetoric often results in real threats to the Jewish community in Vancouver. According to the Vancouver Police Department, police-reported antisemitic hate incidents increased by 62 percent in 2023 compared to 2022.

Also responding, Ezra Shanken, CEO, Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, said:

“Langara College’s decision, if true, is very upsetting for our community and for all Canadians who stand against terrorism…

‘Very sad day’: N.B. synagogue vandalized on

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Members of Fredericton’s Jewish community were shocked to see the state of the city’s synagogue when arriving on Saturday morning. Several windows were shattered due to an act of vandalism.

Images circulating online showed broken glass both inside and surrounding the door located at the Sgoolai Israel synagogue’s entrance.

Saturday is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“The Fredericton Police Force received a report from a concerned passerby regarding damage observed at the Synagogue situated in downtown Fredericton,” police said in a release on Saturday afternoon, adding that an investigation was begun following their arrival.

Fredericton Police added that they are working to determine whether “the damage resulted from targeted hostility or other circumstances.”

Ivan Levine, former president of the synagogue, said a rabbi and the congregation who were leading a service on Saturday were the first to come across the vandalism.

“It’s a very sad day in Fredericton,” he said. “To think that our fathers and forefathers have contributed to this city, have been so charitable … and this is what a few bad apples have done.”

Levine said plans for repairing the windows and installing security cameras are already underway.

“We thought we never really needed (security), but I guess now we do,” he said. “Enough is enough.”

Susan Holt, leader of New Brunswick’s Liberal Party, expressed her frustration toward the incident online on Saturday.

“Just saw the terrible news & pictures of the antisemitic desecration of the Fredericton synagogue,” Holt said in a statement on X, adding that a vigil will be held at the synagogue on Sunday afternoon. “All are welcome to join and stand against hate.”

David Coon, leader of the New Brunswick Green Party, also condemned the vandalism in a social media post.

“The Fredericton Synagogue was vandalized on International Holocaust Remembrance Day in what can only be described as an act of hate,” he said.
