On my other blog, there are several stories, some under the title "Wolves Among the Sheep", where pastors of churches have been convicted of sexually abusing young women or children, but part of their congregation continues to support them and even blame the children.
There is a time and place for friendships and loyalty, but when it comes to sexual abuse, it's time to cut and run.
