The Israeli Shin Bet security agency announced Monday afternoon that an indictment has been filed against three Arab Israelis associated with the ISIS terror group for a plot to carry out attacks within Israel as well as to join the group’s jihadist activities abroad.

Following a months-long investigation, Muhammad Farouk Yosef Agbaria, 21, and Abdel Mahdi Masoud Muhammad Jabarin, 21, were arrested in July 2022.

Both residents of Umm al-Fahm, an Arab city in northern Israel, Jabarin was previously investigated by authorities over his links to ISIS.

According to the indictment, Agbaria and Jabarin plotted to carry out a terror attack in Israel under the auspices of ISIS.

The pair, whom the agency said identify with “an extremist Salafi-Jihadist ideology,” had viewed online content associated with the terror group, including watching videos of beheadings and gory battlefield footage.

Both men had also recently applied for passports, with the goal of traveling abroad to join ISIS fighters. The agency said that Agbaria and Jabarin met with a third resident of Umm al-Fahm, who reportedly returned to Israel after undergoing ISIS training abroad.

The men attempted to train for combat, adopting a fitness regime and practicing shooting in the lead-up to their journey. Because Jabarin had extensively researched ISIS fighting in Nigeria, it’s believed that the men had intended to travel to the West African country to support Islamist fighters there.

A week after Agbaria and Jabarin were detained, security forces arrested Muhammad Al-Rafaieh, 30, for his affiliation with ISIS.

Al-Rafaieh, a resident of a Bedouin community in the southern Negev desert, admitted to investigators that he “identified with the ISIS organization and supported the organization’s ideas and goals, and even carried out shooting training together with others, with the aim of joining the organization and fighting in its ranks in Israel when the time comes.”

In a statement, the Shin Bet pledged that it “will leverage all the measures at its disposal in order to [mitigate the risk posed by] extreme Islamic ideologies, and to thwart in advance any intentions to harm the security of the State of Israel…and will prosecute to [the fullest extent of the] law all those involved in terrorist activities.”

In late March 2022, two ISIS-affiliated Arab Israeli cousins from Umm al-Fahm opened fire at a bus stop in Hadera, killing two Border Police officers and wounding several civilians. The terrorists were killed during the attack.

Pakistan: Politician offers $20,000,000 for Geert Wilders’ head

Pakistani man claiming to be PMLN politician announces 20 Million USD bounty

on Dutch MP Geert Wilders, says he is next after Salman Rushdie

OpIndia,
August 13, 2022

Twitter has suspended the account of a Pakistani man who announced a bounty of 20 million USD for anybody who beheads Dutch Lawmaker Geert Wilders, referring to the attack on author Salman Rushdie in New York
. Rehan M Sabir made threat calls announcing the bounty for beheading Geert Wilders. His Twitter profile, which has now been suspended, mentions that he is a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), the ruling party in Pakistan.

The tweet reads, “After the attack of Salman Rushdie Insha’Allah the next number is @geertwilderspvv. Any one from the world gave the head of @geertwilderspvv I will give 20 $ million. I want @geertwilderspvv head. We want head. All Muslims want head.”

The account of Rehan M Sabir has been suspended by Twitter following his tweet. His profile bio indicates that he is a PML(N) politician and a writer. The profile bio reads, “A Proud Pakistani, Politician, PML(N)Worker, SocialActivist, Writer, Speaker, SupportCivilSupremacy.”

A social activist with $20 mn to throw around!!!???

Netherlands MP Geert Wilders, who is blunt about Islamic radicalism, reacted to the death threat writing, “I can not count the amount of hate and threats they send me now after the barbaric attack on the brave #salamrushdie."

Yes, JK Rowling was also threatened, but I suspect that was a cowardly LGBTQ freak, not a Muslim.

Aug. 18 (UPI) -- The man accused of attacking Salman Rushdie with a knife at an event in New York last week has been indicted by a grand jury and will face criminal charges in court on Thursday.

Prosecutors announced the indictment and said suspect Hadi Matar will appear Thursday afternoon in Chautauqua County Court.

Police say that Matar attacked Rushdie with a knife in western New York a week ago as he prepared to speak at the Chautauqua Institution. The 75-year-old Rushdie was seriously hurt, but is recovering at a hospital in Pennsylvania.

Matar told the New York Post in an interview from jail on Wednesday that he's surprised the renowned British-American novelist is still alive.

"When I heard he survived, I was surprised, I guess," the Fairview, N.J., man told the Post.

Matar was asked if he was inspired by former Iranian Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini when he called for Rushdie's death for the author's 1989 book The Satanic Verses -- which Khomeini considered blasphemous. Iran offered a $3 million bounty on Rushdie's head at the time.

"I respect the ayatollah," he said. "I think he's a great person. That's as far as I will say about that.

Matar added that he opposes Rushdie because he's "someone who attacked Islam. He attacked their beliefs, the belief systems."

The Iranian government said earlier this week that it had nothing with Rushdie's attack.

Except for the $3mn fatwa!!!

Saudi woman given 34 years in prison over tweets

Whatever you do, don't insult the murderous regime in Riyadh

Aug. 17 (UPI) -- A Saudi women's rights activist was handed a 34-year prison sentence for posting tweets criticizing the Kingdom's ruling government.

Salma al-Shehab was sentenced on Monday while the government also gave her a 34-year ban on traveling outside of Saudi Arabia.

The mother of two was originally detained in 2021 while on vacation in Saudi Arabia.

Before leaving Britain, she used Twitter to call for reforms and the release of activists in Saudi Arabia. She is a member of the Kingdom's Shia Muslim minority.

"We are deeply concerned to learn of the recent development in Salma's case and are seeking advice on whether there is anything we can do to support her," England's University of Leeds wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

"Our thoughts remain with Salma, her family, and her friends among our close-knit community."

The 34-year-old Saudi citizen is studying for a PhD at the university where her research focused on improving dental treatment for patients with disabilities.

Her initial six-year prison sentence was later increased to 34 years after she filed an appeal.

Islamic madness!

The Freedom Initiative human rights group called al-Shebab's sentence the "longest prison sentence given to a Saudi women's rights defender, marking an escalation in MBS crackdown on dissent."

MBS is short for Saudi Arabia's ruling Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

"Saudi Arabia has boasted to the world that they are improving women's rights and creating legal reform, but there is no question with this abhorrent sentence that the situation is only getting worse," Freedom Initiative Saudi case manager Dr. Bethany Al-Haidari said in a statement.

"It is unfortunately no surprise that MBS feels more empowered than ever in presiding over such egregious rights violations. Without any real steps toward accountability, Biden's trip to Jeddah and the international community's embrace must feel like a green light. The Saudi authorities must release Salma and ensure that her young boys do not grow up without a mother simply because she called for freedom for human rights activists."
