The Media is the Message > CBC staff told not to refer to 911 as a terrorist attack

Canada: Leaked Memo to CBC journalists orders staff not to call 9/11 a terrorist attack

Consider: In 2015, a special U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund (USVSST) was established to compensate just that, victims of terror. 9/11 victims and their family members are paid from this fund. Out of the roughly 22,700 total eligible international terrorism claimants for the USVSST, over 13,000 are 9/11-related victims. The USVSST splits money for regular distributions as follows: 50% is strictly allocated to 9/11-related claimants. The USVSST Fund has already paid out nearly $7 billion to eligible claimants in six rounds of payments, where $1.41 billion went exclusively for 9/11 families.

Basem Boshra is ordering Canada’s state run broadcaster CBC’s journalists to lie about Muslims murdering thousands of Americans on 9/11. Add in the many more injuries and health fallout for emergency workers. If it were up to Basem Boshra, since 9/11 wasn’t a terrorist attack in his view, none of these victims of terror are actually victims, so they wouldn’t be compensated.

So what was the motivation of Basem Boshra? Did he agree with the mass murder of infidels on 9/11, and thus doesn’t view 9/11 as a terrorist attack? Is he undermining jihad terror to protect jihadists? How else might Basem Boshra be abusing his position to influence and shape news about jihad terror in Canada, under the banner of the state broadcaster, the CBC?

KINSELLA: 9/11 wasn’t a ‘terrorist attack,’ according to the CBC

by Warren Kinsella, Toronto Sun, August 26, 2026:

Terrorism.

The definition of that word is widely known and widely accepted.

The Encyclopedia Britannica people define it this way: “Terrorism is the calculated use of violence, or the threat of violence, to create general fear in a population and coerce a government or society to achieve political, religious, or ideological goals.”

By any reasonable and objective standard, that is what happened nearly 25 years ago, on September 11, 2001: Terrorism.

On that terrible day, four airplanes were hijacked by 19 terrorists. They piloted two of those planes into New York City’s World Trade Center, destroying both buildings and murdering 2,753 innocent people. Two dozen of them were Canadians.

A third plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. There, 125 people were slain — military and civilian. The 59 people on board the hijacked American Airlines flight were also killed.

A fourth plane, a United Airlines flight, slammed into a field in Pennsylvania after the hostages attempted to seize control from the four terrorists. Thirty-seven passengers and seven crew members were murdered.

Around the world, pretty much everyone accepts what the word terrorism means. The government of Saudi Arabia — where the majority of the 9/11 killers came from — officially call what happened on that day “terrorism.” No less than Osama bin Laden, who conceived of 9/11, used the word “terrorism” too — although, in his case, he usually applied it to those of us in the West, not him.

So, the word is understood to mean what it means: The use of violence to achieve some goal, political or religious or ideological. That is what 9/11 obviously, unarguably was: Terrorism by terrorists.

Memo sent to CBC News staff

Except, not at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

This week, I received a memo — presumably confidential — addressed to CBC News staff. It is authored by one Basem Boshra, who is the “Senior Director of Journalistic Standards and Public Trust at CBC News.” In Boshra’s memo, reporters are editors are told this:

“Do not refer to the Sept. 11 attacks as terrorist attacks.”…

Elon Musk blows a hole in Far-Left logic

Elon Musk Just Exploded One of the Left’s Favorite Smear Tactics With Some Common Sense

New in PJ Media:

Elon Musk has just dared to shine the light of truth and accuracy upon one of the left’s favorite weapons of propaganda and manipulation.

Whenever mainstream media “journalists” want to make people dislike someone and reject whatever their victim may stand for, they start calling the person they want to destroy “far right.” The idea is to associate the victim with Hitler and fascism without saying anything that could end up being legally actionable, and the leftists have not hesitated to use the label for anyone and anything they don’t like, no matter how far from anything genuinely “far right” their target may be.

One notorious example is the media’s use of “far right” to try to defame everyone who dares to oppose its favorite religion, Islam, and to speak out against jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women. And so the late Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn, who was a gay activist with leftist positions on everything except his refusal to accept the Islamization of the Netherlands and Europe, was “far right.” So is his political heir in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, whose party’s program aligns with the left on almost everything except its opposition to mass Muslim migration into Europe, and so he, too, is “far right.”

I myself believe in free speech, free enterprise, and free society, and reject racism, fascism, and the like, but when I started writing books about how Islamic jihad is a historic and present-day threat, I, too, became “far right,” and was placed on the blacklists of the Southern Poverty Law Center and Anti-Defamation League, and defamed and deplatformed accordingly.

The whole thing has gotten so absurd that in a December 2024 article published in the aftermath of an Islamic jihad attack upon a Christmas market in Germany, the Daily Mail warned: “This Christmas market carnage will make a dangerous situation even uglier – and the Far Right will grow even stronger.” Yeah, that’s the biggest takeaway from a jihad attack that killed six people and injured over 300 others: the “far right” may take advantage.

The idea that anyone at all would have been worrying about the “far right” at that moment demonstrated how avid the establishment media is to divert attention away from Islamic jihad violence. If that required warning about a nonexistent threat and once again smearing people who were simply trying to stand against the prevailing madness, so be it.

Now, however, Elon Musk has had enough. The Hill reported Friday that in a recent interview, The Economist’s Editor-in-Chief Zanny Minton Beddoes claimed that Musk “supports not just the populist right, but the far right — in fact, very fringe parties in some countries.”

Musk took issue with this characterization, saying: “No, I support the normal people. What you call the far right, falsely. Literally, you could go back 10 or 15 years and these policies were completely normal.”

Completely normal, as they had been for centuries, if not millennia.

There is more. Read the rest here.

Tucker Carlson, et al > Why the sudden change of opinions about Israel and Islam?

Tucker Carlson claims he used to say Muslims ‘all want to kill us, they’re all crazy,’ but no longer believes it

Tucker Carlson never actually said “The problem is Islam. The problem is Muslims. They all want to kill us. They’re all crazy. They’re all in this lunatic suicide cult created by Muhammad in the 7th century.”

Tucker Carlson is committing the all too common fallacy of conflating Islam and Muslims. In reality, to say that there are problems with Islam, or even that “the problem with Islam,” doesn’t say anything about “all Muslims,” because there are degrees of knowledge of the religion and commitment to it among Muslims, just as there are among adherents of all religions. No serious analyst ever says “all Muslims want to kill us,” or that all the members of any group want to do anything. If Tucker Carlson had ever said on his Fox show or anywhere else that “all Muslims want to kill us,” he would have been the object of screaming headlines, excoriating him for his “Islamophobia” and demanding that he retract, apologize, end his show, and do various forms of public penance such as visiting a mosque or chatting with officials of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). None of that ever happened, because Tucker never said this.

Also, those of us who did dare to point out that Islam had doctrines of warfare against unbelievers were smeared, defamed, marginalized, deplatformed, and silenced. If Tucker Carlson had said this, which we were accused of saying but that none of us ever actually said, he would never have been allowed to continue to occupy his massive platform.

Compounding Tucker Carlson’s dishonesty here is the fact that he is also making claims about Islam and dismissing those claims as “hysterical,” and will never allow anyone who believes that there is a problem with Islam, or that the problem is Islam, onto his show to discuss it with him. He is, of course, free to feature anyone he wants, but his is not exactly a platform for open and honest discussion of the relevant issues that will allow for opinions that differ from those that Tucker Carlson holds. That also is his right, but when he makes sweeping claims that are false, as he does here, he does his audience an even greater disservice than usual. What about the Qur’an’s violent teachings? What about Islam’s doctrines of conquest and subjugation? Do they simply not exist now because Tucker Carlson says they’re hysterical?

Unfortunately, the jihadis are not uncomfortable with this particular brand of hysteria, and will keep advancing, no matter what Tucker Carlson says.

Tucker Carlson Retracts Past Rhetoric on Islam, Condemns Trump Over Iran

Clash Report, June 25, 2026:

Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson on Thursday publicly disavowed his previous hostile statements regarding Islam and issued a sharp critique of Donald Trump’s foreign policy record.

Carlson characterized his own past rhetoric as hysterical and explicitly retracted his claims that Muslims belonged to a suicide cult.

The remarks signal a significant ideological shift for the prominent media figure.

Carlson stated that he previously believed and propagated the idea that Islam was the primary threat to the West.

He admitted to frequently claiming on television that Muslims wanted to kill Americans and were part of a lunatic cult.

He now rejects these statements entirely.

“Nothing about that is true, but I believed it,” Carlson said. He described his former mindset as hysterical and acknowledged the falsehood of his previous assertions….

Carlson offered a stark condemnation of current Israeli government actions, arguing they contradict the foundational principles of Western civilization.

He accused Israel of abandoning individual justice in favor of an evil standard of blood guilt.

He rejected the premise that defending Western civilization requires defending Israel.

Instead, Carlson asserted that his opposition to Israeli policies stems directly from his commitment to Western values.

He added that the modern state of Israel bears no resemblance to the country he first visited decades ago….

Such a dramatic turnaround in opinion causes a conspiracy theorist like me to wonder if one of two things might have happened to Carlson and two of my once-favourite female journalists:

1. A serious turning away from God,

2. A sudden infusion of a whole lot of money with the smell of Arab oil on it.

But that's probably just me.

Antisemitism > At Venice's Bienale; In North Macedonia; Britain's antisemitism tsunami - Melanie Phillips (video)

At the Venice Biennale, No Israeli Can Win a Prize

The Venice Biennale is one of the most prestigious international exhibitions of art, and winning a prize at the Biennale gives an artist an enormous boost to his career. This year, however, the judges at the Biennale have announced that they will not be considering any Israelis for a prize, no matter what the quality of those artists’ submissions might be. More on the latest display of anti-Israel animus can be found here:

Israel Condemns Venice Biennale Jury Decision to Ban Israeli Artist From Winning Top Awards

by Shiryn Ghermezian, Algemeiner, April 28, 2026:

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has denounced the International Jury of the 61st Venice Biennale after its five members announced last week that they will not consider awarding top prizes to an artist from Israel.

In a released statement, the Venice Biennale’s jurors said they will exclude from consideration for the Golden and Silver Lion awards artists from “those countries whose leaders are currently charged with crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC),” which applies to both Israel and Russia in relation to the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, respectively.

Belu-Simion Fainaru is the artist representing Israel at the Venice Biennale this year with his installation “Rose of Nothingness.” Fainaru’s artwork will address topics such as Jewish mysticism, memory, and poetry. The artist – who was born in Bucharest, Romania, and now resides in the northern Israeli port city of Haifa — won the Israel Prize in Design and Interdisciplinary Art last year. A University of Haifa alumnus, he represented Romania at the 2019 Venice Biennale.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry said in a post on X that the jury’s decision to “boycott” Fainaru is “a contamination of the art world.”

“The political jury has transformed the Biennale from an open artistic space of free, boundless ideas into a spectacle of false, anti-Israeli political indoctrination,” the ministry added.

Fainaru believes that the jury’s decision has “created a hostile and degrading environment” and that he is being discriminated against based on his national origin, he said in an email last week cited by Artnet….

Of course he is being discriminated against. No two ways about it: he’s Israeli, no Israeli will be awarded a prize, as a fitting way to punish the colonial-settler, apartheid, genocidal Jewish state. Also sprach the five-man jury.

This year’s Venice Biennale will be open to the public from May 9-Nov. 22, and the awards ceremony will take place in Venice on May 9. The Golden Lion awards are given to the best artist in the main exhibition and to the best national pavilion, and the Silver Lion is awarded to a promising young artist. The winners will be selected among 110 participants….

This requires emendation. To wit: The Golden Lion awards are given to the best artist in the main exhibition unless that artist is an Israeli, and to the best national pavilion unless that pavilion belongs to Israel, and the Silver Lion is awarded to a promising young artist unless that promising young artist is an Israeli.

Zoe Butt, Elvira Dyangani Ose, Marta Kuzma, Giovanna Zapperi, and Solange Farkas are the jurors for the Venice Biennale this year. Explaining their decision to exclude Israel and Russia from the event’s top prizes, the jury said they feel “a responsibility towards the historical role of the Biennale as a platform that connects art to the urgencies of its time.”…

Among the “urgencies of its time” that this Biennale will not address, but indeed add to, is the worldwide epidemic of antisemitism, that is intimately tied to the spread of the very anti-Israel animus that the judges at this Biennale display in such vivid fashion, by insisting that no Israeli artist will be considered for a prize.

Following the statement from the jury, the European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced that the bloc will withdraw $2.3 million in funding from the international art event for allowing Russia to participate. “While Russia bombs museums, destroys churches, and seeks to erase Ukrainian culture, it should not be allowed to exhibit its own,” Kallas said, as reported by Politico. “Russia’s return to the Venice Biennale is morally wrong, and the EU intends to cut its funding.”

Note that the judges are perfectly content to have Russian artists, but not Israelis, be eligible for prizes at this year’s Biennale. Is Israel, which has been fighting a six-front war for its very survival against terrorists of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and a terrorist state, a worse offender than Russia, that launched a war of aggression against an entirely innocent Ukraine, in order to seize territory that Putin wants to make part of Russia? It seems that the judges think so.

Hugh, I have to disagree with your assessment on the Russian - NATO proxy war in Ukraine. It's as cynical and biased as the people about whom you are complaining. GWM.

Here’s what I think should happen: American artists, gallerists, and art patrons, in protest at the Biennale’s decision, both stupid and cruel, to not consider Israeli artists for prizes, should simply refuse to take part in this year’s Biennale, including withdrawing any amounts the Americans had pledged to support the Biennale’s production. That will diminish the Biennale’s prestige, harm its finances, and limit the significance of its prizes.

North Macedonia: Islamic State jihadis carry out arson jihad attack on Skopje synagogue

“IS has a profoundly hostile opposition toward Jews and while the group has rarely directly confronted Jewish communities in the Middle East, its ideology frames Judaism as the primary enemy of Islam.”

The Islamic State didn’t originate this idea. It comes straight from the Qur’an: “You will find the Jews and the idolaters the most vehement of mankind in hostility to those who believe.” (5:82)

Skopje, Macedonia

Arson attack at Skopje synagogue linked to so-called Islamic State, officials say

by Gavin Blackburn, Euro News, May 1, 2026 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

An arson attack last month on a synagogue in North Macedonia’s capital has been linked to the so-called Islamic State (IS) group, the country’s intelligence service said on Friday.

Nobody was injured in the 12 April attack, which is the Orthodox Easter, but an entrance of the building in Skopje was left scorched after it was set on fire.

The Agency for National Security said they had raided several properties and arrested seven people believed to be a “part of a radical group ideologically linked to the global network of the Islamic State.”

Police said following the arrests on Thursday, they had charged a 21-year-old and a 38-year-old with terrorism related offences….

IS has a profoundly hostile opposition toward Jews and while the group has rarely directly confronted Jewish communities in the Middle East, its ideology frames Judaism as the primary enemy of Islam.

The group has frequently called for attacks on Jews and Jewish sites worldwide.

Britain's antisemitism tsunami

Earlier today, I appeared on Sky News Australia’s Outsiders to discuss last Wednesday’s stabbing attacks on Jews in London’s Golders Green. We discussed the inadequacy of the British government’s reaction to the tsunami of such attacks, the part played in this by Islamists and other Muslim antisemites, and the appalling fact that murderous hatred of Israel, Zionism and Jews has been reframed as conscience through the systematic lies told by the media and the global human rights establishment about the world’s only Jewish state.

You can watch this segment by clicking the arrow below.

Later this morning, I also appeared on Sky’s Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips which was largely devoted to discussing this issue with two other guests, political consultant Polly Mackenzie and the transport union leader Mick Lynch. Trevor’s interview with the Greens’ leader, Zack Polanksi, was a masterclass in holding this despicable and dangerous individual to account. We discussed the causes of the current tsunami of antisemitism in Britain, the reaction by the government and Polanski to the Golders Green attacks, and the likely fate of Sir Keir Starmer.

I made the point that the murderous Jew-hatred now rampant has been incited by wall-to-wall lies presenting the Israelis as evil and demonic. As if to prove my point, that lie was promptly trotted out.
