D-Day Heroes > Where did they come from? Ronald Reagan, Joe Biden, Ben Shapiro

The question we should be asking on the 80th anniversary of D-Day is the question Reagan asked: where do we find such men? The Greatest Generation was produced by a generation of churchgoing Christian mothers and fathers. 4% illegitimacy rate. 96% belief in God. 73% church membership. We've rejected all of those things and produced generations of narcissists instead.

Bits and Bites from around the World > Little Pig takes on Big Black Bear

Watch this small but mighty pig defend family farm from bear

Barbie-Q, a miniature pig, was captured on surveillance footage charging a black bear

to scare off a bear that had broken into its family's barn. (CHEK News)

A heroic showdown captured on surveillance footage earlier this week shows a brave miniature pig charging a black bear that broke into her family's farm.

Barn security footage from early Sunday morning shows the pig, named Barbie-Q, standing inches in front of the bear as it slowly steps closer to her.

She is then seen charging forward, forcing the bear to run back.

A pet pig from Sooke, B.C., charged at a bear that had broken into the animal pen. Barbie-Q's owner said it looked like she was protecting the other animals huddled against the fence.

Owner Crystal Walls and her husband were away at the time with their four dogs, who usually defend the farm. When her housesitter called to let them know their fence had been breached, the couple rushed home and watched the security footage.

"Lo and behold, there was our little mini pig Barbie-Q fighting off a bear," Walls said Tuesday on CBC's All Points West.

And the unlikely fight resulted in an even more unlikely winner. The bear sat back on his behind before leaving about 30 minutes later.

"He definitely did not put up a fight to Barbie. He got out of her way," said Walls.

Walls said it seemed that Barbie-Q was attempting to corral their other animals back into their pen, charging at them to get back every time they came too close to the bear.

"It was very unbelievable to see."

Barbie-Q was rewarded for her service with a bowl of fruit salad and plenty of belly rubs.

A pampered pig with a feisty side

Walls said this attack was out of character for her beloved Barbie-Q, who is normally frightened by the family's pet goats and will run away if they get too close.

"I did not think something that size, that she would even attempt to charge it."

The six-year-old pig has lived a sheltered life.

in a bold effort to keep her Sooke, B.C. farm safe. (Chek News)

She was raised inside the family's home for her first three years of life, sleeping in their bed, going on camping trips with them, even joining them in attending neighbourhood events.

Barbie-Q was moved outside to the barn when her younger brother [bacon] Bits joined the family.

"Everywhere we went with the dogs, she came with us," said Walls, adding that Barbie-Q is an affectionate pig who enjoys kissing and cuddling her owner.

But Walls says Barbie-Q can be feisty at times, and her pig-headed nature came out Sunday morning.

Christy Brookes, who was house-sitting for the family at the time, told CHEK News she has noticed the pig likes to be in charge.

"She'll try to be the boss of anyone.  She is definitely the boss of me," said Brookes.

But she says Barbie-Q deserves the recognition she is getting for her valiant efforts.

"I love her even more. She is a star."

Interpol Chief Warns Europe of ISIS 2.0 When Jihadists Serving Minor Sentences Leave Jail

FILE PHOTO © REUTERS/Omar Sanadiki

Europe should brace itself for a new wave of terrorist attacks when Islamic State supporters serving short sentences begin to emerge from jail in a few years, the head of Interpol has warned.

The next big terrorist threat in Europe could come from IS supporters currently in prison for minor terrorism-related crimes, according to Interpol Secretary-General Jurgen Stock. As they leave jail in the coming years, their radical beliefs are likely to trigger a relapse.

“In many parts of the world, in Europe but also Asia, this generation of early supporters will be released in the next couple of years, and they may again be part of a terrorist group or those supporting terrorist activities,” Stock said, estimating that the average jailed jihadist is serving a sentence of between two and five years.

“We could soon be facing a second wave of other Islamic State-linked or radicalized individuals that you might call ISIS 2.0,” he told the Anglo-American Press Association, as cited by the Guardian.

Possible members of IS sleeper cells aside, there is an ongoing threat of returning terrorists fleeing Iraq and Syria since the demise of Islamic State. Those disenchanted fighters with nothing to lose have become a major issue for local law enforcement.

“The security agencies are concerned about when they are coming back because most of them are battle hardened, they are trained, and they are internationally connected,” Stock said, noting that going to Syria and Iraq in the first place “was a huge opportunity to network on an international level.”

“These contacts still exist and we shouldn’t forget that,” he said.

It’s a guessing game as to where the retreating jihadists are going to flee when they’re squeezed out of Syria and Iraq. One of the probable destinations is southeast Asia or Africa, where there are still terrorist hotbeds. Another option for the jihadists is to keep a low profile and try to sneak back into Europe.

“With ISIS defeated geographically, these individuals will either try to move to other areas of conflict in southeast Asia, or Africa, or remain in Europe to carry out attacks,” Stock said.

Interpol has some 45,000 suspected foreign fighters in its database but it’s a Sisyphean task for local police to track them down, as many have perished on the battlefield, some are holed up in Syria or Iraq, and the whereabouts of many others is unknown.

Intelligence agencies in many countries, including in Europe, which has seen a spate of Islamist-linked terrorist attacks in recent years, have sounded the alarm over the threat posed by returnees.

Germany’s intelligence chief has warned that the children of jihadists coming from war zones can grow up to follow in the footsteps of their parents. Hans-Georg Maassen called for both widows and children of IS fighters to be treated as jihadists, arguing that they pose a considerable security risk after being brainwashed by IS propaganda.

The same concerns were echoed by the authorities in France, which has welcomed at least 300 jihadist militants back from Syria and Iraq. There have been calls for French citizens arrested on terrorist charges in Syria and Iraq to be tried there rather than brought back to France.

The solution that will never be implemented

The only credible way of dealing with jihadists is to segregate them from the rest of society. Their goals are to kill, destroy, disrupt, and cause terror in society, and it will be impossible to prevent that from happening without segregation.

Segregation can only come through the declaration of radical Muslims as clinically insane. As Dr. Wafa Sultan, a Syrian psychiatrist wrote: “I came to the absolute conviction that it is impossible…impossible…for any human being to read the biography of Mohammed and believe in it, and then emerge a psychologically and mentally healthy person.”

Consequently, anyone espousing jihadist philosophy must be declared insane and locked up until he/she renounces radical Islam. It's pretty simple; but no politically correct government will ever have the courage to implement it.

Between the Lines - Burden of My Dreams

Burden of My Dreams is book one of a two part series called Between the Lines, by Janusz Siwinski.

It is a thoroughly delightful biography of the early years of an extraordinary man. Born and raised in communist Warsaw, in the 1950s and 60s, Janek dreams of one day being free from the heavy oppression of communism, and free from the extreme poverty that plagued the masses and never seemed to improve.

Poland was occupied by Russians who were paranoid that everyone was out to destroy communism, so they kept a very tight grip on movement of people, not just to and from Poland, but even within the country. Any kind of change in your life was viewed suspiciously and required permission which was often not easily obtained.

Food was very scarce! People often had to leave work hours early in order to stand in line at a store that might have a loaf of bread to sell them. It was in this dreadful poverty and hopelessness that Janek grew more and more determined to get out from behind the Iron Curtain.

Janek was clever, courageous, and determined. He and his friend decided that the only way they would ever get permission to leave Poland for the west was to make the regime think that they were model communists. This they accomplished, and in their early 20s, the two men separately got permission to visit England. Neither had any intention of returning.

Janek made a big mistake, however, by marrying his sweetheart before leaving. He might have been able to get her out of Poland had he not married her, but Janek found out that because he did not return to Warsaw, his wife would never get permission to leave Poland for the west.

The rest of the story tells us how Janek lived and sought help to find a way to get his wife out. The plot becomes more and more intense as time goes by and Janek is running out of options. The extraordinary efforts to get his wife out led him into many situations that were simply terrifying. I was barely able to put the book down especially in the second half.

I won't tell you more than that about the plot except to say it would make a thriller of a movie.

One of the most delightful aspects of the book was watching Janek discover the west. In London, he was captivated by the colours - the houses, the advertising in the tube, were all so stunning compared to the drab grayness of Warsaw.

Janek was taken to see the Polish government in exile. A pitiful yet prideful government still thinking they were the legitimate government of Poland even though they hadn't been in the country for 20 years.

A move to Paris brought many new adventures and enchanting descriptions of the world's most romantic city. It also revealed some of its inherent ugliness in a couple of heart-breaking episodes.

Janek and his friends go on a road trip through Italy and delightfully take us along with them. For awhile, I did something that I did when reading The Count of Monte Christo about 10 years ago. I followed on Google Maps and Satellite view, the movement of the hero as he sailed around the Mediterranean and then into Marseilles.  I did the same for Janek and his friends as they travelled through Italy and across other parts of Europe. It was fascinating until the story got so intense I had to give it up and just read.

Putting the book down at the end of the story left me craving for more. I wanted to be back on the Champs-Elysees in a cafe having a croissant and cafe-au-lait, or a cognac, or a bottle of fabulous French wine with quirky, unpredictable, sometimes hilarious friends. I wanted to be on the road again through Italy and Austria to experience the food, the wine, the incredible views. I can hardly wait for the second book in the series.

Janusz Siwinski, the author, is a man I have recently gotten to know, a little, through a prayer meeting we both attend. Having met him, I can easily see him doing all the things he has written about. While living in Canada now for many years he still has a moderately thick Polish accent. This actually comes out a bit in his writing in what might appear to be a few spelling mistakes, but in fact, is simply what his accent looks like on paper. It's part of the charm of the book. I think I might just read it again.

'God Stepped In': Pastor Disarms Gunman in Church

American Christians are more likely to believe in the motto,
'In Guns We Trust'; as opposed to 'In God We Trust'!
But it is wonderful to know that there are still some Christians
who's faith is in God.

A rifle-toting man entered a North Carolina church service late on New Year's Eve claiming he "was going to do some bad things." Tragedy was averted when the church's pastor peacefully disarmed the man.

During the service held late Thursday evening, a man holding a semi-automatic assault rifle in one hand and a loaded ammunition clip in the other walked into Heal The Land Outreach Ministries in Fayetteville, North Carolina, WNCN reported.

Upon spotting the weapon, pastor Larry Wright interrupted his sermon and walked toward the man as the 60 or so members of the congregation began to panic, some heading for the exits.

"I'm the first person to see him and when I saw him, I thought it was a dummy gun, but then I saw the bullet clip in his hand and the bullets were shining," Wright told CNN.

Approaching the man, who appeared to be in his 20s, the pastor asked, "Can I help you?" the Fayetteville Observer reported.

"If he was belligerent, I was going to tackle him," said Wright, who is 57, 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds.

The man was calm, though, eventually allowing the pastor to take his firearm.

"He said, ‘I came here with some terrible things on my mind, I was going to do some bad things,'” Wright told WNCN.

The man, who has not been identified by police, told Wright he had been hurt by the church in the past. In addition, he was recently released from prison, a military veteran and a new father.

Wright gave the weapon to a deacon, patted the man down, and called on other deacons to embrace the man to make him feel welcome.

“When I told the congregation, it's OK, he wants prayer and I began to pray for him, and the power of God hit and he fell to his knees and began to cry and weep and he had his face on the ground,” Wright told WNCN.

The man was invited to sit in the front pew of church to listen to the rest of Wright's sermon.

"I finished the message, I did the altar call and he stood right up, came up to the altar, and gave his life to Christ," Wright said. "I came down and prayed with him and we embraced. It was like a father embracing a son."

Police were alerted to the scene and were waiting in the vestibule, as Wright requested they remain outside.

“I didn’t want to interrupt the service,” Wright said.

Following his embrace of Wright, the man asked to speak to the churchgoers. He apologized for his actions, saying he had intended to do something terrible, but God had spoken to him.

“God stepped in and he moved on that young man’s heart and instead of him shooting and killing a whole lot of people, God touched his heart,” Wright said.

The man was led away by police following the service. Fayetteville police spokesman Lieutenant David McLaurin said the man requested treatment and was taken to a nearby medical facility.

A deacon at the church said Wright was discussing gun violence when the man walked in that evening.

"I think that night the spirit of God was definitely in the place," Sylvester Loving told the Observer.

It is not at all unusual for God to illustrate a good preacher's sermon in some amazing way, although this was pretty spectacular.

North Carolina does not have a state law restricting transfer or possession of assault weapons. To own a rifle or shotgun in the state, one does not have to acquire a permit to purchase or carry, nor be licensed. Registration of the firearm is also not necessary.

How insane is that? The man just got out of prison, probably has PTSD, and he's able to get his hands on an assault rifle and walk into a church with it.

With almost 30 years of experience as a pastor, Wright is also a Fayetteville city councilman and a retired Army sergeant. Fort Bragg, a major US Army base that is home to the 82nd Airborne Division, is located just outside Fayetteville.

You are my hero today, Pastor Wright, for your courage and your faith. God bless you.

Kenyan Muslims Shield Christians in al-Shabab Bus Attack

Somali-based al-Shabab frequently launches attacks over the border in Kenya

A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups, according to eyewitnesses.

They told the militants "to kill them together or leave them alone", a local governor told Kenyan media.

Courageous thing to do you guys. You're my heroes today. God bless you.

At least two people were killed in the attack, near the north-eastern village of El Wak on the Somali border.

The Somali based al-Shabab group says it carried out the attack. The group often carries out attacks in Kenya's north-east. The bus was travelling from the capital Nairobi to the town of Mandera.

When al-Shabab killed 148 people in an attack on Garissa University College in April, the militants reportedly singled out Christians and shot them, while freeing many Muslims.

Last year, a bus was attacked near Mandera by al-Shabab militants, who killed 28 non-Muslims travelling to Nairobi for the Christmas holidays.

"The locals showed a sense of patriotism and belonging to each other," Mandera governor Ali Roba told Kenya's private Daily Nation newspaper.

The militants decided to leave after the passengers' show of unity, he added.

Analysis: Bashkas Jugsodaay, BBC News, Nairobi

The passengers on the bus showed great bravery, but there was another quality revealed by their surprising decision to stand up to the gunmen: Frustration.

The majority of the local population in the north-east are Kenyan Muslims of Somali descent, and they have been hit hard by the consequences of al-Shabab attacks, even if non-Muslims are supposedly the main target of the Somali militant group.

An attack last year in Mandera, in which Christians were killed after being separated from Muslims, caused the departure of more than 2,000 teachers, as well as many health workers who had come from other parts of the country.

Perhaps the passengers felt that the region could simply not afford another such attack.

It will be interesting to see if their actions embolden local populations to increase their resistance to al-Shabab, which has attacked the area several times.

An employee of the Makkah bus company, who had spoken to the driver involved in the attack, confirmed to the BBC that Muslims had refused to be separated from their fellow Christian passengers.

One of the victims was shot dead after trying to run away from the militants after passengers had been forced off the bus, the same employee told the BBC's Bashkas Jugsodaay in Nairobi.

Al-Shabab has been at war with Kenya ever since Kenyan forces entered Somalia in October 2011 in an effort to crush the militants.

Kenya's north-eastern region has a large population of ethnic Somalis.

Al-Shabab attacks in Kenya
September 2013 - Al-Shabab militants seize the Westgate shopping mall in the capital Nairobi, killing 67 people.
June 2014 - At least 48 people die after Islamist militants attack hotels and a police station in Mpeketoni, near the island resort of Lamu.
November 2014 - The group targets a bus full of teachers in Mandera County, executing 28 non-Muslims at point-plank range.
December 2014- Al-Shabab kills 36 non-Muslim quarry workers near the north Kenyan town of Mandera.
April 2015 - Militants carry out a massacre at Garissa University College in north-east Kenya, killing 148 people.

ESPN Lauds Jenner over a True Hero - How Sick is That?

Another very sad commentary on our times when a selfish aberration to mankind is chosen as a courage award winner over an heroic, selfless, dying athlete. While Lauren Hill gave everything she had in the hope that it might help others in the future, Jenner was entirely self-absorbed, self-serving, and another blow to a dying society.

Lauren Hill, RIP, you are a genuine hero
The Internet sears with outrage over ESPN’s bestowal of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award on the Athlete Formerly Known as Bruce Jenner rather than giving it to Lauren Hill, the utterly courageous 19-year-old woman who battled inoperable brain cancer while playing basketball for Mount St. Joseph’s.

Before she died in April, Hill had achieved a dream of her own, scoring the first and last basket when Mount St. Joseph’s defeated Hiram College 66-55 on November 2014. The courageous young woman, knowing she wouldn’t survive, decided to use her notoriety to raise money for cancer research; by last November, she had raised $1 million for DIPC Cancer Research.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still, whose 4-year-old daughter was battling cancer, tweeted:

Congrats Lauren Hill on raising 1 million dollars for DIPG Cancer research! Using your battle to raise awareness n money is an inspiration!

— Devon Still (@Dev_Still71) December 30, 2014

According to ESPN, Hill’s courage was superseded by Jenner’s decision to become a woman. ESPN announced on June 1 that it was honoring Jenner with the Ashe Award, and only belatedly announced on July 14 that it would offer a small tribute to Hill at the ESPY Awards. A producer for the program admitted that she and her staff, rather than any wider voting process, selected the former Olympian for the honor. On Wednesday, the resultant fury was exhibited on Twitter:

How the hell does Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner get the Arthur Ashe Courage Award over Lauren Hill?! Our society is a JOKE.
— Dylan Loberg (@dloberg22) July 16, 2015

My pick for the #ArthurAsheCourageAward … I think many will agree. #LaurenHill https://t.co/0W1LCZLC81
— Matt Overton (@MattOverton_LS) July 16, 2015

Touching tribute to Lauren Hill. Makes the Caitlyn Courage “ratings grab” look even more pathetic !!
— John Dennis (@JohnDennisWEEI) July 16, 2015

The Los Angeles Times reported that a possible reason for the honoring of Jenner derived from a deal between ABC and Jenner. ABC televised the ESPYs and Jenner had granted an exclusive interview to ABC’s Diane Sawyer in April regarding the gender transition Jenner was undergoing. The interview grabbed huge ratings.

Is that how we pick our heroes now? By the ratings they may generate on TV? God help us. It's almost criminal that his/her name even be mentioned in the same breath as Lauren Hill's.
ESPN - you're sick!

More Fascinating Answers to Prayer

Last week, I shared a summary of the following story to a friend who was distressed about having to buy a car. Her wonderful response came by email a couple days ago, and follows the story, which is an excerpt from my still 'yet to be published' book. Hope you enjoy and share these testimonies.
See below for today's hero.
Vancouver's West End from across False Creek
How to Find a Used Car

Indeed, forty years You provided for them in the wilderness and they were not in want; Their clothes did not wear out, nor did their feet swell. Nehemiah 9:21.

God provided water, meat, manna, whatever the Israelites needed while in the desert. Miraculously, their clothes did not wear out in 40 years, and none of them ever sprained an ankle, and He delivered them from their enemies.

When my career moved me to Vancouver again in 1995, we bought a house, in a very nice neighborhood, in Abbotsford, about 50 miles out into the Fraser Valley. You may remember hearing in the news, about the Abbotsford killer in the mid nineteen-nineties. He raped two young girls, killed one of them, then taunted the police for weeks until a family member recognized his voice and turned him in. He was the son of a policeman.

It was an anxious time for all of Abbotsford, and we warned our children, who were in their early teens, and any visitors, that they could not go walking any further than the corner store and had to be back before dark. As it turned out, in walking to the corner store, they had to walk right past the killer’s house. He lived around the corner; about two blocks from us.

Remember the woman I visited with Pastor Mark, in the hospital, in Port Hardy? She and her husband were the previous residents of that same house. Weird, eh?

Vancouver, British Columbia, and the lower mainland
“Ye have not, because ye ask not.” James 4:2b

When I got to Vancouver, I went to see my brother at the transmission shop where he worked. I told him I was looking for a commuter car, and he suggested his co-worker’s VW Jetta. It had a recently rebuilt motor and was in great shape. I bought it. It served my commuting very well for about three years.

It withstood being hit from behind three times, including once when I was about to park in front of my office, and the driver of the half ton behind me was half asleep. I watched him in the rear view mirror, knowing he was going to hit me hard. He hit me without even slowing down. I got the back-end fixed for the third time and then gave the car to my son.

Needing a new car, I searched all over the B.C. lower mainland for something economical, sporty, and in my meager price range. I looked from Chilliwack to North Vancouver and could not find the right car, even though I had no real idea what the right car was. I just knew that I would know it when I saw it.

After weeks of frustration, and my wife asking me if I had prayed about it (which I hadn’t), I finally started talking to the Lord about it.

“Lord,” I said, one morning on the way to work, “I know that you already know what car I’m going to buy next, so instead of me chasing around all over British Columbia looking for it, why don’t you just bring it to me?” I can be awfully blunt sometimes, even to God. Honesty and sincerity are essentials in prayer, I think.

Immediately after I got to the office, and after the customary, "Good morning, Houston", from my staff, the phone rang, and it’s a young lady on whose answering machine I had left a message the night before inquiring about the car she had for sale. She described the Nissan Pulsar, and the price, and told me that she had to buy a new car to keep within a new vehicle reimbursement policy at the newspaper she worked for.

It sounded perfect. I asked when and where I could see it. She asked, “Where do you work?”

“Airport Square,” I replied, “Do you know where that is?”
Airport Square, Vancouver. My office door
was just above the car on the right, in the
mezzanine

“Oh yes,” she answered, “I’ll be driving past it in a couple minutes. Do you have time to look at it now?”

“Yes, of course,” I replied, stunned at the remarkable answer to prayer that was about to take place. Sometimes I am certain that the Lord thinks it's very funny to answer my most absurd prayers.

A couple of minutes later, I walked outside my office door, and she pulled up right in front of me. We went for a short test drive, and I bought the car; how could I not?

It was a beautiful, little, white sports-car with a hard roof that could be removed in about a minute. It worked great, was easy on gas, very comfortable, a lot of fun, and a remarkable answer to prayer.

As mentioned above, I related this story to a friend and a few days later got this wonderful response:

Hi Gary,

I want to thank you for your timely encouragement. I really hate car shopping but with all of my daughter's, and now my appointments, it is difficult not to have one.

Jeannie's daughter suffers from a debilitating and dangerous illness, and now, Jeannie, herself has been physically injured in the car accident that totaled her car, which has served to dramatically increase an existing anxiety disorder.

I had been looking on line for vehicles that were in my price range, low mileage.  I wanted a car like the one that got wrecked because it would have the features I wanted and could afford.

I wasn’t up to getting my rental car until Monday and was really pleased when they gave me a car similar to my old one to use, however, right away I noticed that they changed the body style which created a lot of blind spots and I was really afraid to use it. So I started looking on-line for older models but after much searching I became very discouraged.

ICBC paid me out and my rental was up on Thursday when I returned the car and thought I would just try to figure out taxi’s for a few weeks until I felt up to it more and wished, like you did, that God would just bring me a car.

Then on Friday a car looking very much like my old one pulled into my parking spot and my sister got out and told me this story.

My sister is a very caring person who loves the Lord. She lives in Chilliwack and had been praying God would provide the right car for me. She was driving around that day when she felt there was a voice telling her to turn down a road, it was very strong and persistent so she did and there she saw a car dealership. She went in and told them that I was looking for a used car and they directed her to another dealer just down the street.

When she drove up there were a number of salesmen standing in front but she saw this one woman and felt that is who she had to speak to. She told her my story, that I needed something low mileage, what ICBC had given me and that I could only afford to spend a couple thousand more. She said this woman was really touched and wanted to help so she spent about a half an hour on the phone trying to find something but came back and said she couldn’t find anything.

Then she suddenly remembered that a car had just come in that morning on a trade in. She thought it would be perfect and so did my sister but there was a lot of other interest in it and it was for a lot more money. She went and talked to the owner of the dealership and was gone for a long time. When she came back she had gotten several thousand dollars knocked off the price and told my sister she could hold it for me if she put a deposit on it. My sister agreed and as they were writing up the deposit someone else came in with a check for the full price so they told him it was sold. She also told my sister to drive it to me to try out but if I didn’t want it she would get her deposit back.

I was still very skeptical as it was a car I had never even looked at or knew anything about. When I saw the car my first thought was “Oh no, what have you done” and when she told me the story I worried about how I was going to tell her this is not the right car.

I told her I was afraid to drive so she said that she would drive it for me, but I said no, I could not possibly buy a car that I hadn’t test driven. We checked over the features and it had almost everything I had been looking for and much better visibility than my old car. I asked my daughter to pray and we took it for a drive.

I thought I would only go around the block but the more I drove it the more comfortable and safe I felt and I even took it out on the highway. I was still skeptical though, and am not an impulse buyer, but your story kept going through my head, so I called my mechanic and asked about the car he said they were great but recommended I bring it in to be checked. I said that sounded good but I was sure he couldn’t fit me in today. To my surprise he said that he could in about an hour, which meant we could still get it back to the dealer before the 6pm deadline.

The mechanic's report came back saying it was in excellent condition. So we drove back to Chilliwack, I bought it and drove it home. Now I own a lovely car, 6 years newer than my old one, with low mileage and I got it for less than I thought I would ever find something for.

God is really amazing, and I am so thankful for your timely words of encouragement because they stopped me from immediately saying no and not even trying the car out.

Blessings,

Jeannie

God is amazing! When He answered my prayer, I suspect it was partly just to show me that nothing was too trivial to pray about. When He answered Jeannie's prayer, He not only provided her with an excellent car at a very reasonable price, but he saved her some considerable stress and anxiety which was the last thing she needed. He also showed her that He is with her an all her struggles.

God, bless Jeannie's sister for listening to Your voice and having the courage to do what she did. She's my hero for today!
