This Week's Islamic Terror Attack in Europe Injures 9 in Germany

Truck attack in Germany being treated as act of terrorism

An incident involving a stolen truck that plowed into traffic in the city of Limburg, Germany has been classified as terrorism, according to the country’s public broadcaster.

At least nine people were injured in the attack, which was reportedly carried out by a man from Syria in his early 30s.

Although the suspect’s motives were initially unclear, authorities are now treating the crime as an act of terrorism, public broadcaster ZDF reported, citing security officials.

After dragging a driver of a white Mercedes truck from his vehicle, the suspect is said to have accelerated into a group of cars stopped at a traffic light. The attack damaged eight vehicles and scattered debris across the road.

Witnesses said the assailant said “Allah” several times and spoke Arabic, according to German media.

Germany suffered from a far bloodier truck attack in 2016, when a Tunisian migrant used a vehicle to plough through a Berlin Christmas market, killing 12 people.

Three Migrants Sentenced for Molotov Attack on Swedish Synagogue

The New Normal - Growing Antisemitism in Sweden

UPI -- A district court in Sweden sentenced three men for hate crimes for carrying out a Molotov cocktail attack on a synagogue in Gothenburg in December 2017.

Two of the men, aged 24 years old and 22 years old, were sentenced to two years in prison, while third 18-year-old was sentenced to 15 months in prison after the court determined the attack was a hate crime.

"The crime had the clear goal of threatening, harming, and violating members of the synagogue and the Jewish community more generally," the court wrote in its judgement. "The crime therefore had a hate motive."

The attack took place during a period of increased violence against Jews in Sweden after U.S. President Donald Trump publicly recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Also, the growing numbers of Muslim migrants mean an automatic growth in antisemitism in Sweden and most of the rest of the EU.

One of the men, a stateless Palestinian citizen, was ordered to be deported from Sweden after serving his sentence and won't be permitted to return until 2028.

The other two, a Palestinian and a Syrian citizen, had refugee status and permanent residence, so they couldn't be deported.

The three men were convicted for acting as part of a group of masked individuals who hurled Molotov cocktails at a community center attached to a synagogue in Gothenburg, as it hosted a youth event with as many as 30 attendees.

The building didn't catch fire and no one was injured in the attack, as police said people fled to safety in the basement.

No Praying for ISIS: German Police Arrest 16yo ‘Radicalized’ Syrian Refugee

It was just a matter of time before western police forces arrested radicalized Muslims. This is a good development not only because it takes a potential terrorist off the streets, but because he was, obviously, reported by other members of the mosque he attended. This sort of thing has to happen more and more with Muslim mosques showing zero tolerance for radicals.

The question is, now what? Are there even laws to deal with a situation like this? What will the courts do with him? Will they be more interested in the rights of a potential terrorist than the rights of the citizens of Germany to live in peace and safety?

German police special forces (SEK) have arrested a 16-year-old refugee from Syria in Cologne after allegations he had become radicalized and prayed for Islamic State. Three migrants were slightly injured during the operation.

The SEK raided a temporary refugee camp in Cologne’s Porz district on Tuesday, arresting a 16-year-old boy named Mohammad.

“According to the information by the State Security Service the teen has radicalized himself in a very short time,” the statement by the Cologne police reads.

“The evaluation of the available evidence pointed to a serious threat,” the press release adds.
Police also confirmed that three refugees sustained minor injuries while trying to escape the migrant camp after law enforcers moved in. The facility currently houses some 200 refugees.

Interesting, who were these 3 guys and why were they in such a panic to evade the police?

According to the Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger, the Syrian boy attended one of the mosques of the Turkish community in Cologne and was heard “praying for Islamic State.” According to the newspaper’s source a word “bomb” could be also heard during the praying.

Mohammad’s father, Jamal, denied his son was a radical, saying he had been suffering from a depression, but was not violent. Jamal’s wife and daughter have also been taken by police for questioning, according to local media.

Officials say that further information and background on the arrest will be available Wednesday “due to the pending investigation.”

The incident has already triggered reaction from Ralf Jäger, the Minister of Interior in the State of North-Rein–Westphalia (NRW) where the arrest took place.

“Europe, including Germany and NRW has long been in the crosshairs of Islamist terrorism. The danger is real and concrete. Our security agencies are therefore on high alert and are checking every lead. This arrest shows it yet again,” Jäger said.

Last week three Syrian nationals suspected of having ties with IS have been arrested after federal police raided refugee camps in northern Germany. They assume that the three men, aged between 17 and 26, had been dispatched to Germany in November 2015 “to carry out a mission that they had been informed about or to wait for further instructions.”

In July, the Federal Criminal Police (BKA) revealed that it followed around 410 leads on possible terrorists among asylum seekers in Germany. The country was a target of several violent attacks this summer, with three of them committed by refugees. In two cases the assailants pledged allegiance to IS.

“Islam Can’t be Modernized,” says World’s “Greatest Arabic Poet”

“When asked if he receives death threats from radical Islamists Adonis said: ‘Of course, but I do not care. For certain convictions people should risk their lives.'” Bravo.

Adunis Asbar (Adonis)

“‘Islam Can’t Be Modernised’ Says World’s ‘Greatest Arabic Poet,’” by Chris Tomlinson, Breitbart,

The writer regarded as the greatest Arabic language poet alive today has said Islam cannot be modernised.

Adunis Asbar, known by his pen name Adonis, is a Syrian-born writer often considered one of the greatest living poets of the Arabic language. He has come under criticism for comments he made recently about Islam before receiving the Erich Maria Remarque Peace Prize, named after the famous pacifist and author of the classic World War One novel ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’.

In an interview with Die Welt he talked about one of the most pressing issues in Germany since the migrant crisis began, the idea of being able to integrate migrants from predominately Muslim countries into European societies.

Being raised a Muslim himself and having one of the greatest understandings of the language of the Quran, Adonis said: “You can not reform a religion. If they are reformed, [the original meaning] is separated from it. Therefore, modern Muslims and a modern Islam is already impossible. If there is no separation between religion and state, there will be no democracy especially without equality for women. Then we will keep a theocratic system. So it will end.”

Laying down a heavy critique of the Islamic world, he added: “Arabs have no more creative force. Islam does not contribute to intellectual life, it suggests no discussion. It is no longer thought. It produces no thinking, no art, no science, no vision that could change the world. This repetition is the sign of its end. The Arabs will continue to exist, but they will not make the world better.”

The remarks are in reference to the broader questions of how he sees the Middle East, and specifically his native Syria which has been in a state of civil war for years. Adonis describes the totality of Islam in the life of people in the Islamic world saying Muslim society is “based on a totalitarian system. The religion dictates everything: How to run, how to go to the toilet, who one has to love…”…

“I have long been an opponent of Assad. The Assad regime has transformed the country into a prison. But his opponents, the so-called revolutionaries, commit mass murder, cut people’s heads off, sell women in cages as goods and trample human dignity underfoot.”

Adonis was referring to the Islamic State and the Al-Nusra front (an Al Qaeda affiliate) who have become the largest opposition force to Assad over the course of the civil war.

Breitbart London has already reported that attempts to house and integrate Muslim migrants will cost Germans and other European countries billions of euros, and according to Adonis’ opinion it could be a useless endeavour.

When asked if he receives death threats from radical Islamists Adonis said: “Of course, but I do not care. For certain convictions people should risk their lives.”

2 Syrian Women Beheaded for Practicing Witchcraft

Witchcraft is considered polytheism in Islam and adherents can face death for its practice.

The hard-line Islamic state group has beheaded two women in Syria, the first time it has decapitated female civilians, the founder of a group monitoring the war said on Tuesday.

The beheadings took place in the eastern Deir al-Zor province this week said Rami Abdulrahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which tracks the conflict using sources on the ground.

One of the women was beheaded along with her husband in Deir al-Zor city. In al-Mayadeen city to the south east, the group beheaded another woman and her husband. All of them were accused of sorcery, the monitor said.

Islamic State has beheaded local and foreign men in Syria, including enemy combatants, aid workers and journalists as well as people it has deemed as violating its hard-line interpretation of Islamic law.

Several of the group's female captives have been stoned to death previously after being accused of adultery and other offenses. This is the first time it was reported to have beheaded female civilians.

Abdel-Rahman, said the two female civilians and their husbands, killed in the city of Mayadin, appear to have been accused after the group found them in possession of charms.

The use of amulets, charms and other folk religious practices is common in parts of Syria, particularly in the countryside.

The charms are often written on a piece of paper sewn into fabric, and are intended to protect the recipient against bad luck or jealousy, or solve and prevent other problems.

But the practice is considered heretical and a form of “witchcraft” by ISIS, which imposes its harsh interpretation of Islam on the areas under its control.

Islamic State also "crucified" five men in al-Mayadeen for eating during daylight hours of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, the Observatory said.

They were hung up by their limbs on the city wall and children were encouraged to mock them as they suffered, it added.

Activists say Islamic State uses such public punishments in areas where it is present to control the local population through coercion and fear.
