The Media is the Message > Associated Press or Associated Propaganda? - Elon Musk

‘Associated Propaganda’: Musk hits out at AP

The billionaire has accused the agency of downplaying the severity of the Magdeburg car attack through its choice of language in its reports
‘Associated Propaganda’: Musk hits out at AP

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has accused the Associated Press (AP) of disseminating propaganda following the global news agency’s coverage of Friday’s deadly incident at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg.

Musk referred to AP, as “Associated Propaganda” in a post on X, which he owns, in which he criticized the agency's reporting of the attack on civilians.

The billionaire's comment was in response to criticism by an X user over AP's headline - “A car has driven into a group of people at a Christmas market in Germany.”

A speeding vehicle rammed into a crowd at Magdeburg’s festive market on Friday evening, resulting in at least four fatalities, including a child, and injuring over 60 people, Bild reported, citing police.

The user accused AP of using passive language that downplayed the severity of the attack, stating, “You don’t hate the legacy media enough. The Associated Press uses a passive voice when reporting on the Christmas market terror attack in Magdeburg, Germany. As if the car simply drove itself peacefully, and the affected number of people small and insignificant.”

“It wasn’t a ‘group of people’—it was an entirely mass of people whose bodies were flung by the force of the impact, and many more who were crushed beneath the wheels as the vehicle zigzagged its way through the packed market,” he added.

The driver, identified as a 50-year-old Saudi Arabian doctor residing in Germany, was detained by police at the scene. Authorities have classified the act as a deliberate attack, though the motive remains under investigation.

Musk’s critique aligns with his history of challenging mainstream media outlets over perceived biases.

In 2022 Musk expressed concerns about the lack of public trust in news organizations, describing it as a “real problem.” This comment was in response to a Washington Post op-ed that criticized his involvement with X (then Twitter).

Earlier this year Musk claimed that the “propaganda level” in mainstream media is “tediously high” and accused long-established outlets of bias in the narratives that they offer. The attack has prompted increased security measures across Germany, with several towns canceling weekend Christmas markets as a precaution.

Earlier Musk lashed out at German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, insisting he must resign immediately, after it emerged that the man who mowed through a crowded Christmas market in Germany was an Arab immigrant with a residence permit.

We now know that the perpetrator was wanted in Saudi Arabia who tried a number of times to get him extradited to the Kingdom, But their requests were ignored!

Some media are calling the doctor an acute Islamophobe. If that were so, he would have run down people coming out of a mosque not people celebrating a Christian holiday.

This incident mirrors previous attacks on Christmas markets in Germany, notably the 2016 Berlin attack in which a truck was deliberately driven into a crowded market, killing 12 people and injuring 56. The attacker in that instance, Anis Amri, a Tunisian national who had pledged allegiance to Islamic State, fled the scene and was later killed in a shootout with police in Italy.

The latest casualty figures are:  Magdeburg has been enveloped in grief since an attack that killed a nine-year-old boy and four women at a Christmas market on Friday evening.

About 200 people were also injured when a man rammed a car into the busy market in the eastern German city.

The Media is the Message > More than 2/3rds of Palestinians support Hamas' terrorism, but AP will never tell you that; End Times Prophecy

Over 2/3 of Palestinians want to see a return to terror attacks

against Jews. AP doesn’t report that part of the survey

Elder of Ziyon, December 14, 2023:

reported on a new PCPSR survey yesterday showing that Hamas’ popularity has surged since October 7.

While I report on these polls often, major news media almost always ignore them. This time, though, AP highlighted the part about how Hamas is now far more popular than Fatah, especially on the West Bank, and how Palestinians do not want Abbas as their leader.

That is indeed an important story. But AP continues to ignore one critical question that is in every poll, that is even more important.

69% of the respondents say they support “a return to confrontations and armed intifada.”

This key fact was left out of the AP reporting. You would not know how from the AP how many Palestinians now support terrorism and a return to the intifada, nor that it represented a major increase since October 7 in the numbers of such supporters, who have been not embarrassed by, but positively enthused about, the atrocities that the civilized world condemns.

By a greater than 2-1 ratio, Palestinians want to go back to the days of suicide bombings and blowing up buses filled with Jews.

Media and politicians love to talk a lot about ceasefires, and the importance of peace, and the desirability of a two-state solution. But this single fact means that none of that matters.

More than half of Palestinians have been supporting a return to terrorism for a while now. Hamas’ pogrom increased that desire by 11 percentage points….

BY

The Associated Press has a long history of misreporting on the Middle East in order to make the Palestinians look good and Israel to look bad. Sometimes it omits key facts, such as how the IDF civilian-to-combatant ratio in the Gaza war compares to the ratios obtained by the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, or it fails to report blood-curdling remarks by Palestinian leaders, or leaves out inconvenient truths about the multibillion dollar fortunes of Hamas leaders living in Doha, or ignores altogether the stories of Israeli doctors saving the lives of Hamas terrorists, or other stories that you are unlikely to have ever heard about, because they make the Palestinians look bad and the Israelis look good. And that, of course, would never do.

58% of Palestinians have long supported a return to terrorism. Far from diminishing that enthusiasm, the Hamas atrocities on October 7 increased the number who support such terrorism, and indeed, support for Hamas itself, to 69%.

72% of Palestinian respondents in the latest poll believe Hamas was “correct” to launch its October 7 onslaught, with 82% in the West Bank and 57% in Gaza backing the terror group..

Palestinians now overwhelmingly support terrorism, support a return to the Intifada, support the kinds of acts that Hamas carried out on October 7. Once you fully grasp the enormity of that support — which has been steadily rising — it is impossible to think that a “two-state solution” is possible. It will never happen. Israel cannot possibly surrender more territory to people who make no secret that, by a large margin, they want to see the Jewish state destroyed, and Jews either expelled, or killed, or forced to submit to the status of tolerated dhimmi.

The Bidenites continue to prate about the need for a “two-state solution.” How will that miracle be achieved, if 72% of the Palestinians overall, and 82% in the West Bank, endorse the worst atrocities visited upon the Jewish people since the Holocaust? How likely is it that after October 7, Israelis will be willing to allow a new, larger Gaza, to be created in the West Bank? How can Israel possibly make peace with people who think that October 7 was a great victory for the Palestinians, something to be proud of? The only durable peace possible between the Jewish state and those who wish to destroy it is that which depends on deterrence: Israel must be so obviously stronger militarily, so capable of crushing its enemies, that those enemies may continue to hate it, but will give up trying to annihilate it.

=================

In the Old Testament, the Hebrews were greatly feared, not because of their military might, but because God was with them. At some point in this conflict, Israel's might may disappear and God will have to rescue them:

Eze 38:16 You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.

19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. 23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’

'Every wall will fall...' May be an indication of the destruction of al-Aqsa mosque.

'Every man’s sword will be against his brother.'  This is a clue to the Arabic ancestry of those invaders of Israel. Here, God describes the great peoples who can claim Ishmail as their forefather. Genesis 16:12 - "He will be a wild donkey of a man, and his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”

'And on many nations before him...' This spells the beginning of the end of Islam and possibly a great turning of Muslims to the God of the Jews. 'Then they will know that I am the Lord'.

'They All Take Saudi Money': Suspected Murder of WaPo Columnist by Saudi Arabia Ignored by UK Press

Corruption is Everywhere - But in the UK, or Global Press?

© Ozan Kose / AFP

WikiLeaks has hit out at UK newspapers which have been curiously circumspect about the alleged murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Turkey last week.

The whistleblower organization tweeted that no British newspaper had led their Monday front pages with news about Khashoggi’s suspected murder despite the fact that news agencies like the Associated Press and Reuters were all reporting on the story — and suggested that the lack of interest from the UK papers was due to the fact that they “all take Saudi money”.

Fears have been growing over the fate of the missing Saudi dissident journalist who writes opinion columns for the Washington Post. Khashoggi was last seen visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last Tuesday and Turkish officials have claimed that initial investigations indicate he was murdered while inside the building.

WikiLeaks also pointed out that the incident has so far prompted no reaction from US President Donald Trump or Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Khashoggi had been intending to obtain a document to certify that he had divorced his ex-wife in order to be able to marry his Turkish fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, who reportedly waited outside the building for 11 hours when he did not return. Turkish officials believe that the journalist was killed inside the building and later removed by a 15-person Saudi team that arrived at the consulate on Tuesday and returned to Riyadh the same day.

Saudi Arabia has denied the accusation and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he still remains “positive” about the investigation.

WikiLeaks weren’t the only ones taking note of how British media have been covering the story in a surprisingly calm and low-key manner, however. Some on Twitter made comparisons to how the UK papers had covered the recent alleged murder of Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko, who turned out to be alive and playing an elaborate trick on the media.

Others suggested that the British media was probably too busy trying to find a way to blame Putin for the murder or seeking out the next alleged victim of a Russian “Novichok attack” to look into the Khashoggi story.

Some pointed out that the Saudis are the “international untouchables” due to their close relationships with the US and UK governments. While the Guardian did run a column about Khashoggi on its front page, some Twitter users noted that it seemed like the newspaper was trying to downplay the story by not making it the main focus.

In 2016, Reporters Without Borders published information detailing how Saudi Arabia “manipulates foreign media outlets” in order to “project a positive image of the kingdom internationally”. RSF wrote that a series of cables between Saudi embassies and the Saudi foreign ministry (made public by WikiLeaks) revealed that “extraordinary initiatives” were considered by Riyadh in an attempt to rehabilitate its international image.

The organization wrote that Saudi Arabia “channels funds to media organizations all over the world” including the UK — and that the funding usually takes the form of outright donations or the buying up of thousands of subscriptions, as was the case when a struggling Lebanese TV network adopted a pro-Saudi editorial policy after taking a $2 million bailout from Riyadh.

In another incident, the London-based Financial Times was forced to withdraw its Saudi correspondent and close its Riyadh bureau after the government accused the paper of publishing “lies” about the country. In 2017, Saudi investor Sultan Muhammad Abuljadayel bought a 30 percent stake in the Independent newspaper, which also prompted concern that the paper would not be truly independent anymore.

Bear in mind this article comes from RT, state-run media, and Russia has an alliance with Iran which sponsors proxy wars against Saudi Arabia. So, the point of the article is to defame the Kingdom, though the points it makes are most likely accurate.
