Borno Governor, Zulum Excludes Christians, Their Communities

From Nigerian Government’s N3billion Palliatives – Centre For Justice

Sahara Reporters, December 20, 2023:

The CJREN Director-General, Reverend Kallamu Dikwa, stated this, while alleging that Christians in the state are always excluded from any palliative and assistance brought to the state including the N3billion given by President Bola Tinubu to help those whose family members were killed by Boko Haram insurgents and other terrorists in the state.

The Center for Justice on Religious And Ethnicity in Nigeria (CJREN) has accused Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State of deliberately excluding Christians in the state from the Federal Government palliatives given to the citizens and residents of the state.

The CJREN DG said in a release shared with SaharaReporters that “Any assistance that came to the citizens of the state from the federal government, Christians in the state are always excluded, such as palliative.”

He said that “Last week, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Maiduguri and gave N3 billion to help those whose family members were killed by Boko Haram insurgency and resurgence, still Christians were excluded from the data capturing.”

Dikwa said that “Christian Community in Gwoza Local Government Area in the state that were completely in IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps are still there unlike the Muslims who have been returned to their communities in the area since.”

According to Dikwa, “EYN-Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Moduganari in Maiduguri, the state capital last year were demolished by Governor Babagana Zulum, where he used security operatives that resulted to the untimely and unwarranted killing of one of our pastor’s son.”

He further alleged that Governor Zulum gave a demolition order to the same church, saying that “On this note, we clearly wish to inform the national CAN, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to know that any breach of peace in Borno state is a handwork of the current Governor, Babagana Umara Zullum.”…

Nigeria: Muslims murder seven Christians in

jihad attacks on two villages in Plateau state

The world yawns. This doesn’t fit the establishment media narrative, which holds that Muslims are always brown victims and Christians are always white oppressors. News that doesn’t fit that paradigm gets sent down the memory hole.

Fulani Herdsmen Kill Seven Christians in Plateau State, Nigeria

Morning Star News, December 1, 2023:

ABUJA, Nigeria (Morning Star News)Fulani herdsmen and other terrorists on Thursday (Nov. 30) killed seven Christians in attacks on two villages in Plateau state, Nigeria, sources said.

The assailants attacked Puka and Dinter villages in Mangu County at about 1 a.m., said Yohanna Markus of Puka.

“Fulani herdsmen together with a group of bandits attacked two of our villages, Puka and Dinter, where they killed seven of our Christian villagers,” Markus told Morning Star News in a text message. “Aside from those killed, who include five men and a woman, many other Christians were injured and are currently being treated for gunshot wounds and machete cuts.”

After midnight on Wednesday (Nov. 29), a pastor and two other Christians were kidnapped in predominantly Christian Raddi village, Bassa County, a resident said in a text message.

“At about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, bandits attacked Raddi, our village and kidnapped three Christian victims,” resident Ezekiel Gideon told Morning Star News. “Christians kidnapped by the terrorists are Pastor Bala, 50; Keziya Ayuba, 50; and Sunday Ayuba, 40.”

The three Christians were rescued later that evening in neighboring Bauchi state in a police response to another kidnapping attempt in Toro County, local press reported.

On Nov. 15 in Bokkos County, a Christian was killed in Hilltop, a suburb of Bokkos town, said resident Timothy Joseph.

“At about 7 p.m., Fulani herdsmen attacked Hilltop area of Bokkos and killed one Christian,” Joseph said in a text message. “One other Christian was injured during the incident.”

In response to Morning Star News inquiries about the attacks of Wednesday and Thursday, Plateau State Police Command spokesman Alfred Alabo said police had received reports about them and had deployed officers and military personnel to the affected areas.

Nigeria led the world in Christians killed for their faith in 2022, with 5,014, according to Open Doors’ 2023 World Watch List (WWL) report. It also led the world in Christians abducted (4,726), sexually assaulted or harassed, forcibly married or physically or mentally abused, and it had the most homes and businesses attacked for faith-based reasons. As in the previous year, Nigeria had the second most church attacks and internally displaced people.

In the 2023 World Watch List of the countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian, Nigeria jumped to sixth place, its highest ranking ever, from No. 7 the previous year.

“Militants from the Fulani, Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and others conduct raids on Christian communities, killing, maiming, raping and kidnapping for ransom or sexual slavery,” the WWL report noted. “This year has also seen this violence spill over into the Christian-majority south of the nation… Nigeria’s government continues to deny this is religious persecution, so violations of Christians’ rights are carried out with impunity.”…

Christian Woman Killed, Man Abducted

by ADF Jihadists

International Christian Concern, December 11, 2023:

12/11/2023 DRC & Uganda (International Christian Concern) — Suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) insurgents killed a woman and abducted a man in Kasese this week. The ADF is an Islamist rebel group found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), considered a terrorist organization with the motive of expanding Islam.

The rebels attacked Ngoko Village in western Uganda’s Kasese District on December 7 around 9 p.m. They killed one person, identified as Betty Biira, a 35-year-old resident of Ngoko (pictured above). The assailants also injured her 13-year-old nephew, John Masereka.

Local authorities also reported that a 50-year-old man identified as Aston Agaba was abducted and has still not been found.

“Though we have lost one person and whereas we do not know where Aston is, we thank the almighty God that 13-year-old boy survived the attack after escaping from the hands of the rebels but was severely injured with axes on the forehead and skull,” said Kayo Joseph, the Ngoko Village chairperson.

Masereka narrated the ordeal that left his aunt dead, saying, “The killers were strange people. They were speaking a language that I could not understand. They hacked my aunt to death using an axe and machetes. It was a group of about five men who were also demanding phones and food. They started cutting my aunt. After killing her, they turned to me; they were well-armed with guns and other items like axes and knives. In my heart, I was praying to Jesus to save me. I sustained several cuts, but the Lord helped me to flee. I was rescued by good Samaritans who took me to the hospital.”

The Kitswamba terrorist attack happened a month and a half after an ADF ambush in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park, which resulted in the deaths of three foreign tourists. In addition, on June 16th, 2023, the Congolese Islamist group attacked a school in Kasese district, killing 40 students….

Is it time for Christians to abandon the entire Sahel?  If they leave the whole region to Islam, Muslim migrants will have no more excuse to invade Europe. It would be nice to have Christian migrants for a change, and there would no longer be any reason for Europeans to be reluctant to deport Muslim migrants to Africa.

Christian Leaders Arrested in Mauritania

in Large-Scale Crackdown

International Christian Concern, December 13, 2023:

12/13/2023 Mauritania (International Christian Concern) —  A prominent Christian leader, along with 14 other Christian leaders and their families, was arrested in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania earlier this month. These leaders represent a significant portion of the nation’s small Christian community, estimated to be around 1,000 individuals.

Mauritania’s current penal code, specifically Article 306, imposes the death penalty for apostasy, with the provision for a lesser penalty if the accused repents. The arrests were reportedly triggered by posting a video showcasing a baptism ceremony in Mauritania. The video, believed to be leaked by an insider seeking monetary gain, quickly went viral.

The aftermath of the video’s dissemination led to disturbing incitements, with some calling for violence against Christians. Reports include statements like, “We have to kill those who preach Christianity, and these Christians have no place in Mauritania.”

Tragically, this hostility has extended beyond the arrested individuals, affecting their families who are now facing harassment from their neighbors. The Mauritanian government finds itself in a delicate position, torn between its commitments to human rights reforms and greater religious freedom, asserting that the arrests were made to protect citizens and other radical Islamist elements. The government stands firm in its decision that the arrests are necessary for addressing the “Christian problem” in Mauritania….
