“Beware of any belief that makes you self-indulgent or self-gratifying; that belief came from the pit of hell itself, regardless of how beautiful it may sound”. And this is yet another nail in the coffin of the doctrine of self-love. Love God, love your neighbour, and love your enemy. You already love yourself! It requires no special effort or attention.
