‘Un-Islamic’: Pakistani Student Stabs Professor to Death for Planning Co-ed Party With Women Dancing

This is not terrorism; it is not radical Islam;

this is Islam when it is in the majority - Pakistan

A teacher at a reputable college in Pakistan’s Punjab province was stabbed to death by a student for organizing a co-ed party. Reports say the attacker believed the inclusion of females at the event was vulgar and blasphemous.

Students were gathering in order to plan a “farewell party” when their classmate sprang on English language professor Khalid Hameed and began to stab him in the stomach. While the others rushed to their teacher’s assistance and tackled their classmate to the ground, Hameed’s wounds were already too severe, and he died en route to the hospital. Tragically, he was scheduled to retire in just four months.

“My father then fell down and I rushed to him; the student held his knife and started shouting ‘I have killed him, I had told him that a gender mix reception is against Islam’,” Hameed’s son Waleed Khan, who had dropped his father off at the office and witnessed the attack, told AFP. In a cruel twist, he revealed his father wasn’t even involved in organizing the event.

A note has been making the rounds on social media which was allegedly written by a group of students enraged over the decision to include women in the get-together. Local channel Samaa TV says that male and female students were supposed to take part in a folk dance, and the group fumed that it was “promoting vulgarity,” claiming that “Islam doesn’t allow it.”

While police were still checking if the attacker was a member of any extremist group, they said he considered the dance to be “un-Islamic.”

“Apparently, the accused has no link to any religious group but we are investigating about his past and the reasons behind his mindset,” said local police representative Farhan Hussain. The student is currently in police custody, and will be charged with murder.

The attack took place at Sadiq Egerton College in Bahawalpur, a school where women outnumber men two-to-one, a rarity in the conservative Pakistani education system. Several women on Twitter saw the murder as an expression of the country’s deep-rooted discriminatory attitude.

Meanwhile, the victim’s son said he believes the attack occurred as a result of “brainwashing.” He also lashed out at the government for seemingly allowing radical views to flourish.

“I demand justice,” Waleed told media. “I am feeling threatened. We have not been given security.”

The majority of Pakistanis are Sunni Muslim. Globally, the majority of Muslims are Sunni.

Lebanese Organizer Scraps Gay Pride Parade After Arrest on Morality Grounds

Gay pride celebrations in Lebanon this week have been canceled after the event's organizer was arrested for "breaching" public morality.

Organizer Hami Damien was detained by police for questioning over the pride events after Lebanese authorities tried to stop a related event Monday night, saying it was not approved by the country's censorship authorities.

Damien was released after signing a pledge to cancel the week's remaining events.

Damien said he was warned that if he didn't make the promise he'd be interrogated by an investigative judge "on the basis of articles pertaining to the incitement to immorality and to the breach of public morality."

Layal Saqr, Damien's lawyer, said she advised him to agree.

"This was a warning ... and the aim was to stop the events," Saqr said.

Damien said he signed the pledge to avoid a wider crackdown.

"I didn't want to cause panic or disappoint in the LGBT community," he added.

Last year, Lebanon became the first Arab country to hold a gay pride week.

I expect, officials in Lebanon were horrified by last year's parade at the sheer vulgarity of the thing. They can be shockingly obscene.

Although Lebanon is considered more tolerant than other neighboring Arab nations toward the LGBT community, many still face potential legal action.

Article 534 of Lebanon's penal code allows punishment for "any sexual intercourse contrary to the order of nature." Violators can get up to one year in prison.

Beirut Pride's festivities included a street party, a drag show, legal workshops, concerts and poetry readings.

In the region, only Israel and Turkey organize pride week celebrations.

Playboy priest: Spanish clergyman apologizes for channeling Hugh Hefner in carnival parade

A Spanish priest is seeking forgiveness after exchanging his cloak for a Hugh Hefner ensemble, channeling the Playboy icon during a carnival parade. The clergyman even simulated sex with one of his 'bunnies,' who happened to be a man.

Juan Carlos Martínez typically spends his days leading mass, offering communion, and praying with his congregation. But the 40-year-old clergyman decided to mix things up during last week's carnival celebrations in the Galician town of Cuntis.

Dressed in a red bath robe and captain's cap – the legendary fashion preference of Playboy founder Hefner – Martínez hopped aboard a parade float sandwiched by two men dressed as Playboy Bunnies.

He and his hairy, not-so-feminine bunnies lounged on a trailer made to look like a bed, topped with red satin sheets. They relaxed as they were towed through town by a 4x4.

Martínez and his buddies appeared to be having a good time – so good that he and one of the male bunnies decided to simulate sex while on the float.

Although the encounter likely led to laughs in the crowd, the Catholic Church was less amused, asking Martínez to attend a "spiritual retreat" to reflect on "behavior clearly inappropriate for a priest," La Voz de Galicia reported.

Speaking to his congregation from the pulpit, Martínez said he is genuinely remorseful for his naughty antics, telling the pulpit that he is "so sorry to those who feel offended." He said he had requested an appointment with the Archbishop of Santiago to make a formal apology.

God has a great sense of humour, but is there any way emulating and acting like the most hedonistic man on earth can be called humour, or anything but disgustingly vulgar? It was a parade! There were children watching! What was he thinking? 

Perhaps he should try emulating Christ whose Name he represents and in Who's Name he conducts communion? Did he beg forgiveness from Him? He had better!

However, not everyone seems to share the Catholic Church's disapproving sentiment – many in the town have spoken up to defend Martínez. Dozens gathered to support him when senior priest Calixto Covo arrived to admonish the clergyman.

“Such things happen at carnival, it’s just a bit of fun,” one resident told local broadcaster Antena 3. “He’s a great priest and everyone loves him.”

Martínez's popularity hasn't gone unnoticed by Covo – despite the senior priest making a special trip to give the 40-year-old a dressing-down.

“It’s great that he is well loved by the people he served,” Covo told La Voz de Galicia, adding that there would be no lasting consequences for the priest.

I think you may be wrong there. In fact, I think you ought to be concerned about consequences for there not being any consequences for his appalling behaviour. If this is acceptable behaviour in the Catholic Church, it speaks volumes about the church itself. Congregants, and bishops alike, obviously expect very little in terms of holiness or oneness with Christ from their priests.

Is it even possible to be a church without the fear of God?

Bite your tongue, ma’am.

Jennifer Elizabeth Green-Johnson, who is listed on the Dunnville Secondary School’s website as an English teacher, Grades 10 through 12, allegedly instructed one of her students: “Why don’t you lick me where I fart?”

That suggestion is included in two sets of charges before the Ontario College of Teachers, with Green-Johnson’s date for hearings to be set next Friday.

Some teachers we remember for the rest of our lives, because they had a profound effect on shaping young minds or instilling a love of learning or helping us navigate the curriculum. I doubt Green-Johnson’s students will ever forget her, if only for the purported yips and confirmed yaps she brought into the classroom.

This is not Green-Johnson’s first disciplinary rodeo.

In January — five years after the Grand Erie District School Board learned of troubling comments and actions involving students — the Ontario College of Teachers found she had committed professional misconduct; received a reprimand, one-month suspension (already served) and directed to complete a course (“at her own expense”) regarding “appropriate boundaries with students and appropriate classroom management.”

Green-Johnson did not contest the accusations outlined in an agreed statement of facts which “would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional’’ and “conduct unbecoming.”

Uncontested facts included:

That same month, Green-Johnson caught two male students play-wrestling outside her classroom. When one student jumped on the other’s back, Green-Johnson said: “So you like it from behind.”

In November 2011, while her students were cracking jokes about the size of a man’s penis as portrayed in a movie the class was watching, Green-Johnson “made a comment to the effect that you could not see the actor’s penis without a microscope.”

The following month, when a student asked the teacher to repeat what she’d said, Green-Johnson told the girl to “sit down or I will bop you in the nose.” To another student, she said words to the effect of “stop bitching and sit down.”

In January, 2011, Green-Johnson told her students that she had been “raped” and therefore did not trust men around her children, an assertion that “made some of her students feel uncomfortable.”

The agreed statement of facts continues: “On more than one occasion, (Green-Johnson) used the words ‘stupid’, ‘idiots’, ‘bitching’ and/or ‘ass’ ” while conducting her class.

In an incident that fall, students jesting about how much it would hurt to get hit in the groin playfully began swinging their binders at each other. In attempting to stop them Green-Johnson “made accidental contact with (one of the student’s) groin, causing him to fall to the ground in tears.”

Grand Erie superintendent Scott Sincerbox confirmed to the Star on Friday that “multiple reports” have been filed about Green-Johnson, resulting in short suspensions both paid and unpaid. Though not speaking specifically about this teacher, Sincerbox explained that the board implements a “progressive disciplinary process up to an including termination” with suspensions reported to the College.

The Star was unable to reach Green-Johnson on Friday. Sincerbox said the teacher is “not working” at this time but hasn’t been fired either.

“It’s pretty unusual for a teacher who has been found guilty of unprofessional conduct to come before us again,” says Gabrielle Barkany, spokesperson for the College. She could recall it happening only twice before.

For Green-Johnson, these are actually “notifications” — summonings to defend herself, that is — Number 3 and 4. Apart from the matter concluded by the board’s disciplinary committee in January, there were allegations heard by the College against her in 2007 but those were not substantiated.

This time ’round, there are two separate sets of allegations, thus two separate cases to be heard.

In one, relating to the 2015-16 academic year, Green-Johnson is alleged to:

Have told a student who brought coffee to class: “Get that f---ing thing out of here.”

Called a student a “bloody pedophile.”

Told a student: “I have never said this to a student before but f--- you.”

Told another: “It sounds like your ass cheeks are too close together,” after the student a made a noise by pressing his lips together.

Told a student who’d offered to buy her muffins in exchange for a passing grade: “You mean a bribe? I’d be able to shit for a week.”

Told a female student she “looked like a frumpy old lady today.”

On the second matter, Green-Johnson is alleged to have “slapped and/or hit” a male student on the head in March, told him to “grow some balls,” called him an “idiot” and discussed personal issues with a student during class even though that individual was not enrolled in the class.

Green-Johnson was suspended for one day without pay in May and six days without pay in February as a result of recent allegations, though it’s not clear specifically which ones.

School boards can fire teachers. The College can revoke their teaching certificate.

Green-Johnson, holy terror, seems not to have learned her lessons at all.

She sounds like a perfect candidate for the Ontario Dep't of Education to put in charge of sex education.

Russia Jails 3 Women over Twerking Video at WW2 Memorial

A Russian court has jailed three women for performing a twerking dance in front of a World War Two memorial.

The Orenburg dance school video has been a huge YouTube hit

The court in Novorossiysk gave two of the dancers 10 days in jail each, a third 15 days and two others received fines on charges of petty hooliganism.

Prosecutors had said their "erotic and sexual twerk dance" was disrespectful to historic memory and unacceptable.

Earlier this month, Russian officials closed a dance school (Orenburg) after a similar dance video emerged on the internet.

The latest incident involves six dancers - one of them a minor who was not convicted - who had posted a video on YouTube.

"This incident of disrespect for the memory of war history is unacceptable and any attempts to desecrate sites of military glory will be stopped immediately," prosecutors said.

Aside from the questionable, old Soviet attitude that the military can produce glory, the memorial represents soldiers who laid down their lives for their country. Twerking was not the image of the country they had in mind when they went to fight. Having their memory used and abused in a vulgar, dance video is beyond contemptible. 

The sentences come as Russia prepares to mark the 70th anniversary of the World War Two victory.

They also follow the incident early in April when a video clip from the Orenburg dance school on YouTube was viewed millions of times.

The video clip, entitled Winnie the Pooh and the Bees, showed a group of teenage girls dancing on stage in striped leotards, long socks and mini-skirts,

They perform hip-thrusting moves characteristic of twerking. Not to mention sex.

A committee is investigating whether the performance amounts to negligence or even "debauched action", which is punishable by a range of sanctions from community service to three years behind bars.

Thank you Miley Cyrus for taking vulgarity to another level. Can there be anything worse in society than a fallen Christian?
