The GIF below was released by the University of Colorado as a sort of time-lapse (6 years) view of a small spot on Mars' northern ice cap. It shows the melting of frozen CO2 which then reveals water ice blocks beneath, or are they?
One would think that this melting of the Martian polar ice cap would be proof that the sun is the progenitor of climate change, since virtually the same thing is happening on Earth. But, no, scientists don't believe there is any correlation whatsoever. If they can explain the reason they are not related, I don't have the brains to understand them.
But I have figured out that perhaps what is going on on Mars isn't so different from what's happening on Earth. I have come to believe those little blocks strewn there are actually cows who are burping and farting so much the climate is warming. Cows are kind of squarish on Mars.
And, perhaps the Martians are flying around in their little spaceships, like George Jetson, only they're powered by diesel.
I suspect the picture below is not an ice avalanche, but a forest fire some little Martian set so he could grow avocados. The camera is just not quite strong enough to pick out the trees, which are brown on Mars.
Look at the white beads on this picture; they are Martians ski-jumping through the forest. Martians are kind of square too. They better get a move-on or they are going to be smoked out, like Australians.
So, perhaps there is a lot more in common between Mars and Earth, with their ice caps melting, than we might think. What a coincidence they both have the same sun!
I think I'll go to bed. Maybe I should have gone to bed an hour ago, before writing this.
