SYDNEY: Australian rangers have killed an invasive "monster" cane toad discovered in the wilds of a coastal park - a warty brown specimen as long as a human arm and weighing 2.7 kilograms (6 pounds).

The toad was spotted after a snake slithering across a track forced wildlife workers to stop as they were driving in Queensland's Conway National Park, the state government said.

"I reached down and grabbed the cane toad and couldn't believe how big and heavy it was," ranger Kylee Gray said, describing how she discovered the amphibian last week.

"A cane toad that size will eat anything it can fit into its mouth, and that includes insects, reptiles and small mammals," she said.

The animal was taken away and euthanised.

Cane toads were introduced into Queensland in 1935 to control the cane beetle, with devastating consequences for other wildlife.

At 2.7 kilograms - nearly the weight of a newborn human baby - the toad may be a record breaker, the Queensland Department of Environment and Science said in a statement.

Describing it as a "monster", the department said it could end up in the Queensland Museum.

Due to its size, rangers believe it was a female.

What kind of sexist remark is that?

While the age is unknown, "this one has been around a long time," Gray said, explaining that the amphibians can live as long as 15 years in the wild.

Female cane toads can produce up to 30,000 eggs in a season, and the animals are incredibly poisonous, causing local extinctions of some of their predators.

Farrukhabad: It was mathematics that led to a wedding being called off in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district.

A 21-year-old bride called off her wedding when the groom failed to count currency notes.

The shocking revelation came during the marriage rituals when the priest grew 'doubtful of the man's behaviour' and informed the girl's family.

The bride immediately walked off from the dais which led to a verbal spat between the two families and the police were called.

The bride's family claimed that until the day of the marriage, they were unaware that the 23-year-old groom was 'mentally weak'.

The bride's brother, said, "Marriages usually happen in good faith and the mediator was a close relative, so we trusted him and did not meet the guy. When the priest told us about his odd behaviour, we decided to conduct a test and gave him 30 currency notes of Rs 10 to count which he could not. After knowing about his condition, she refused to marry him."

After the girl called off the wedding, a heated argument ensued between the two families. The matter reached the police who tried to mediate but the bride was not willing to give in so the baraat had to return.

SHO Anil Kumar Chaube said, "No police complaint has been filed in the matter yet."

Russian ‘shaman’ detained by cops after pledge to

‘save humanity from satanist pedophiles’

A man from Russia’s remote Far East purporting to be a traditional spiritual leader has been detained by authorities after blogging his colossal journey across Siberia on foot as part of a self-declared mission to save the world.

On Sunday, law enforcement officials in the Urals city of Ekaterinburg confirmed to local media that Nikolay Dylykov, who goes by the name Dylyk Khan, had been taken into custody as a potential risk to himself and others.

Within the past year, the self-declared spiritual leader had filmed himself on a marathon walk across the vast expanse of eastern Russia, pledging to reach the city, Russia's fourth largest. Local media reports that he had announced he was on a mission “to save humanity from satanist pedophiles.”

He is said to have introduced himself to police as Alexander Gabyshev, a different self-declared shaman who was detained in 2019 after declaring an intention to march thousands of kilometres to Moscow, from remote Yakutia, supposedly to exorcise the soul of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The police weren’t looking for Gabyshev,” a law enforcement source told Moscow’s Kommersant. It later emerged that the detainee was actually Dylykov, who is reportedly registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a vulnerable person who potentially poses a threat to others.

After an international media storm, a court in the East Siberian city of Yakutsk placed Gabyshev into a secure facility in July after he reportedly threatened to stab a public safety official with a homemade sword. He is now serving his time in the specialist institution for an indefinite period.

In an original plan disclosed to investigators, he claimed he would walk the 7,500 kilometer distance from his native Yakutia to Moscow’s iconic Red Square, where he would light a ritual bonfire of fermented dairy products and horsehair. After uttering a shamanic prayer, Putin would calmly resign, Gabyshev said at the time.

Doctor diagnoses elderly woman with a case of ‘CLIMATE CHANGE’

A Canadian doctor got the media’s attention by diagnosing an elderly asthma patient as suffering from “climate change.” However, his headline-grabbing diagnosis may be missing a simpler explanation.

When a woman in her 70s showed up with breathing difficulties at Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson, British Columbia, this summer, Dr. Kyle Merritt decided to diagnose her as suffering from a condition not taught in medical school textbooks: “climate change.”

Though the woman had a litany of health problems to begin with – “She has diabetes. She has some heart failure… She lives in a trailer, no air conditioning,” Merritt determined that smoke from wildfires, caused by an historic heatwave that left nearly 600 dead in the Canadian province during July and August, worsened her asthma. He told the Times Colonist that based on this chain of events, he picked up the woman’s chart and wrote in the words “climate change.”

Merritt’s diagnosis did not change how the woman was treated, and could be seen by skeptics as a political statement, especially since he followed it up by banding together with 40 other doctors at his hospital to form an activist group called Doctors and Nurses for Planetary Health. However, he stands by his move.

“If we’re not looking at the underlying cause, and we’re just treating the symptoms, we’re just gonna keep falling further and further behind,” he told Glacier Media.

Merritt’s story made waves in the Canadian media, at a time when world leaders, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, are gathering in Glasgow to hash out environmental policies at the UN’s COP26 climate conference. However, while the doctor was confident enough to draw a line connecting climate change to wildfires to his elderly patient’s asthma, forestry experts say the problem is more complex.

“Even if we were able to turn back the dial on climate change we would still have wildfires that are severe and would burn people’s houses down,” Jesse Zeman of the BC Wildlife Federation told the National Post in July. A month earlier, researchers at the University of British Columbia found that by refusing to periodically burn off dead vegetation from the province’s forests, authorities are allowing dry fuel to pile up and ensuring that wildfires are now “much more severe” when they do strike.

While a warmer climate makes fires more likely, humans could better control the blazes by cleaning up the forest floors and getting more comfortable with controlled burning, the Globe and Mail’s editorial board argued in July. “Canada’s massive wildfires are the result of decades of bad decisions,” they wrote. “But tools are available to mitigate and contain the damage.”

The question is, were these bad decisions a result of stupidity or were they intentional?

Granny killer jailed for life after revelation during ‘truth or dare’ game

A student who revealed in a game of ‘truth or dare’ that he had killed his grandmother has been imprisoned for life, with a minimum jail time of 15 years, for starting a fire at the 94-year-old’s bungalow.

Tiernan Darnton, 21, was jailed for life on Friday for killing his step-grandmother, which was initially ruled to have been an accident.

Mary Gregory, aged 94, was discovered cowering under a table in her bungalow, which was engulfed with smoke in Lancashire, England, in the early hours of the morning in late May 2018. She passed away just four days later.

An investigation conducted at the time by the local fire service eliminated the possibility of foul play from a third party, concluding that the inferno likely started from a discarded cigarette. Based on this evidence, a coroner ruled the death as accidental three years ago.

But police reopened the case in May 2019, a year after the bungalow blaze, following a revelation made by Darnton during his counselling session.

Darnton told his counsellor that during a game of ‘truth or dare’ he had disclosed to his friend that he committed a murder and that this pal’s knowledge could land him in prison.

“I have a secret I haven't told anyone. I may have killed someone,” the young man said when revealing his “darkest secret” to his two friends just weeks after the 94-year old’s death.

At his trial, Darnton said his remarks to his counsellor were “attention-seeking” and rebuffed any wrongdoing. He also said he wanted to impress his friends in the game.

But after being arrested at his family home in May 2019, investigations into his internet history unearthed disturbing searches, including “urge to kill again.” Just a month before the deadly fire, he had also googled “under 18 murder.”

Drawings of Mrs Gregory’s bungalow were also found at Darnton’s family home that outlined a “good hiding place” and “quick exit.” Attempts to hinder the pensioner’s attempts to escape were discovered, including a tampered smoke alarm.

Explaining the motive behind starting the fire, Darnton told the court that he did not want his step-grandmother to suffer from dementia any longer.

UK caves, allows Assange to get married in jail

There should be something funny about this - the old ball and chain, the institution, etc., but it's disgraceful that Assange is still in prison. Being persecuted by 3 different American Presidents says much more about America than it does about Assange. It's time to drop the persecution and accept that you just can't get away with spying on anyone and everyone as you please.

Imprisoned WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange will tie the knot with the mother of his children at a maximum security UK prison, after Stella Moris sued the “creepy” British government for denying them the right to marry.

“Julian and I now have permission to marry in Belmarsh prison,” Moris tweeted on Thursday evening, explaining that the UK government had “backed down” 24 hours before a legal deadline.

“I am relieved but still angry that legal action was necessary to put a stop to the illegal interference with our basic right to marry,” she added.

Moris, who has two sons with Assange, filed a lawsuit against Justice Secretary Dominic Raab and Belmarsh Governor Jenny Louis on Friday, arguing that “creepy elements of the UK government” engaged in “unfair, irrational and sinister” behaviour to illegitimately interfere in their plans.

Assange and Moris have been engaged for five years, and have been asking officials at the maximum-security prison for permission to arrange a wedding since May. When they finally received a reply, they were told the matter had been referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

As the CPS represents the US government in the extradition proceedings against the Australian-born publisher, putting them in charge of the marriage basically gives Washington veto powers, which is “completely outrageous,” Moris told Democracy Now.

Speaking with The Independent, Moris said the interference with the marriage request was a bid to “break [Assange] psychologically” and that there were no legitimate reasons for it.

“It’s a really basic, essential thing, a human thing, and it’s not for the intelligence services, our politicians or anyone else,” she said.

No Less Than 3 Different Groups Terrorizing Turkey

Child attacker linked to bombing
that killed 51 at Turkish wedding
By Allen Cone, UPI

GAZIANTEP, Turkey, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said a child between ages 12 and 14 detonated a bomb at a wedding late Saturday that killed 51 people and injured 69 others.

The use of child suicide bombers as here and in Nigeria, ought to spark a furious response from the international community. I have seen no response whatsoever after the deaths of several child suicide bombers in Nigeria, and I doubt that we will see any response here. But that is not how it should be - it should be zero tolerance for using children as suicide bombers.

Erdogan said the Islamic State was behind the attack during a broadcast by NTV.

The blast occurred in the city of Gaziantep, about 60 miles north of the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo. More than 200 people were packed into a street in the district of Sahinbey for the Kurdish wedding when the explosion occurred around 11 p.m.

He said the suicide bomber also was believed to have killed two policemen in the city.

Erdogan in a statement before his television appearance said there is "no difference" between the IS, which is based in neighboring Syria, the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party and Fetullah Terrorist Organization, founded by U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, state-run Anadolu Agency reported Sunday.

I don't know what a country has to do to get three different and significant groups to hate them that much, especially when it is a Muslim country and all three terrorist groups are also Muslim. Insanity reigns supreme in Islam, of that there can be little doubt.

While I am not in any way a fan of President Erdogan, I have some empathy for him and the difficult task of restoring law and order in Turkey.

He has accused Gulen of being behind the recent coup.

"Those, who cannot overcome Turkey and try to provoke people by abusing ethnic and sectarian sensitiveness will not prevail," he said.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim vowed renewed fighting against terrorist groups. "No matter what this treacherous terror organization is called, we as the people, the state and the government will pursue our determined struggle against it," he said.

The United States condemned the killing in the "strongest possible terms."

"The perpetrators of this barbaric act cynically and cowardly targeted a wedding, killing dozens and leaving scores wounded," National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said in a statement. "We stand with the people of Turkey as they defend their democracy in the face of all forms of terrorism."

Vice President Joe Biden will visit Ankara on Wednesday "to reaffirm our commitment to work together with Turkey, our valued NATO Ally and partner, to confront the scourge of terrorism," according to the statement.

Witnesses described the mayhem

"We had just walked past the wedding and offered our good wishes when we heard the blast," Ibrahim Ates, a local man, told The New York Times. "Suddenly people started running past us. When we went back to see what had happened, everyone was on the floor, and there were body parts scattered everywhere and blood splattered on the walls."

Mahmut Togrul, a lawmaker with the Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party, said the the bride and groom, Besna and Nurettin Akdogan, survived the attack and are in stable condition.

"Many of the victims that died were children," he added.

Police found parts of a suicide vest in the area where the blast took place, the Gaziantep chief prosecutor's office said in a statement.

"Everyone here is devastated. We can't even carry out the funerals because the bodies are in pieces. They are struggling to identify the victims," Hilmi Karaca, a Kurdish activist who witnessed the explosion, told The New York Times.

On July 15, at least 240 people were killed in a failed coup aimed at topping the government of Erdogan.

On June 28, IS militants are suspected of storming Istanbul's main airport with guns and bombs, killing at least 44 people.

Hamas Murders Gaza Wedding Party for Singing

Hamas shooting Gaza wedding party for singing
A rare video from a few years ago that shows the terror regime that Gaza Arabs live under the Muslim Brotherhood Hamas regime.

This is just an incredible demonstration of how horrible it must be for Palestinians living under the Hamas regime. The narrator of this video is genuinely outraged at the behavior of Hamas terrorists towards their own people. Yet there may be others who are to blame. Those who allow this to go on.

The Western world, the UN, the media. Yes, all of them have seen this inhuman behavior and have not condemned it, and those who encourage it. The media continues to condemn Israel, the only country in the world that has been fighting the subhuman, beastly behavior of the Hamas.

This is the true reason that the Hamas together with all radical Islamic groups continues to slaughter, degrade, and subjugate its own people and threaten Israel and the Western world with bombs, terror attacks, and beheadings. When will the world wake up?

Oregon Bakery Claims Government Colluded with LGBT Group Who Set Them Up

(L to R) Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council,
Melissa and Aaron Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa,
at FRC's "State of the Family" address, Washington, D.C., Jan. 19, 2015.
Aaron and Melissa Klein, former owners of an Oregon bakery that refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple and as a result was fined over $130,000, declared in an exclusive interview with the Daily Signal that the case against them needs to be removed from the bureaucratic governmental agency that oversees discrimination complaints because of possible new evidence of bias.

"I think the case should be pulled out of [the Bureau of Labor and Industries court and put into a civil court because I cannot get due process here," Aaron Klein told The Daily Signal.

Last week the Daily Signal, a news site related to the Heritage Foundation, published evidence of collusion by the Bureau of Labor and Industries and the pro-LGBT group Basic Rights Oregon. Based on this new evidence, which consists largely of emails, texts, and phone conversations between the two parties, prompting lawyers for the Kleins to file another motion to reopen the case. A similar motion to reopen the case was denied in March before the Daily Signal's publication of new evidence.

Brad Avakian is the judge at the bureau who is responsible for issuing a final ruling concerning the $135,000 fine. Sweet Cakes by Melissa has since shut its doors because of backlash and boycotts by those angered over their actions. The Kleins' children were even the targets of death threats.

"I had a gut feeling that he was in cahoots with [Basic Rights Oregon] from the get go," Aaron Klein declared in the interview. "We already knew that he had a premeditated idea about what was going on."

Avakian made a Facebook post about the Kleins' guilt before the agency's ruling and imposing of a fine.

"You can't have an office that has a judge, jury and executioner," Aaron Klein declared. "Judges should be unbiased and they should be elected by the people without the power to legislate, investigate and do everything else."

The Kleins have consistently said serving a gay wedding ceremony is against their Christian beliefs. Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer, the lesbian couple, testified at a hearing in March that they suffered emotional distress because they were "humiliated" and "ashamed" that they were not accepted as a soon-to-be married couple.

BS! They knew exactly what they were doing when they entered that bakery. If they were really concerned about being humiliated and ashamed, they could have gone to one of a dozen other bakeries to make their cake. But, no, they went after the Christians for the express purpose of bringing them before the court and having them shut down. And they call Christians intolerant!

Their tactics are a lot like militant Islam - they portray themselves as victims while they are the real aggressors.

The Daily Signal's continued reporting about the collusion exacted a response by Basic Rights Oregon on Tuesday:

"The Heritage Foundation has fabricated a conspiracy theory between Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) and Basic Rights Oregon, ignoring the truth and the facts.

"Here's reality: The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) did not consult Basic Rights Oregon on the Sweet Cakes by Melissa discrimination case," declared pro-LGBT rights group Basic Rights Oregon. "To the extent Basic Rights Oregon has been in contact with BOLI staff about this case, it was to stay informed about timeline and process only."

Basic Rights Oregon did not mention in their press release their donations to Avakian's bid to be commissioner of the BOLI nor Avakian's purchases of tickets costing hundreds of dollars to attend Basic Rights Oregon's annual fundraising galas and gay pride parades. They did however mention their endorsement of Avakian through their PAC.

Melissa Klein told the Daily Signal she plans to "fight this all the way we can."

You go, girl! and God bless you.
