This Day in History > The Last Day of the World - Constantinople overrun by evil - The Great Tribulation

May 29: The Last Day of the World

Burhan Ozbilici

“On May 29, 1453,” the state-run Turkish broadcaster TRT World reported happily on Thursday, the 572nd anniversary of the fateful day, “a 21-year-old Sultan Mehmed II led the Ottoman army to a decisive victory over the Byzantine Empire. The conquest of Istanbul remains a shining jewel in the crown of the Ottoman Empire.”

But for the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Satan's proudest moment since the Garden of Eden was when he stood in the Hagia Sophia on the great and terrible day. The day began with the breach of Constantinople's walls, whereupon lights were seen emanating upward from the Hagia Sophia, the largest church in Christendom for nearly a thousand years.

Were the angels of God evacuating the lost church before the angels of Satan invaded and polluted it with their evil and the blood of saints?

Recep Tayyip Erdogan stood in the Hagia Sophia and  recited verses from the Quran and other Islamic texts on 3 occasions since 2018. The last occasion was on May 29, 2023, after the Hagia Sophia was declared to be an Islamic mosque.

Was this the "Holy Place" Jesus was referring to in Matthew 24? Was this the signal of the beginning of the Great Tribulation? It was followed within a few months by the massacre of 1200 Jews by the worst evil since the Holocaust.

Ancient map of Judea

Matthew 24:15,16 - 15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains."

Are we in the second year of the Great Tribulation? Will Jesus return in 2030 or thereabouts?  Will all Hell break loose in 2027 or so?

(Search this blog for 'Hagia Sophia' for a number of stories on this.)

Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s desire to restore the lost glory of that empire is well known, but those who are the children and heirs of the victims of its bloody expansion look on this anniversary with somewhat less enthusiasm than TRT World displayed.

Some Greek Orthodox Christians to this day refer to May 29, 1453, as “the last day of the world.” In a very real sense, that is exactly what it was: the end of over two thousand years of the Roman Empire, the end of what had for centuries been the world’s foremost power and leading Christian state. The conquest of Constantinople meant the eclipse of Christianity in Asia Minor, which had been such an important center of the faith that three of Paul’s New Testament epistles — Galatians, Ephesians, and Colossians — were addressed to Christian congregations there.

Constantinople had been the center of Christianity in the eastern part of the Roman Empire, and the second see in the Church, after only Rome. After the East/West schism of 1054, Constantinople was the heart of Orthodox Christianity. As “The History of Jihad” recounts in detail, however, on Tuesday, May 29, 1453, the armies of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet II finally broke through Constantinople’s defenses after a long siege, marking the end of the great Christian Roman Empire.

The conquerors were extraordinarily brutal, raiding monasteries and convents, emptying them of their inhabitants, and plundering private houses. They entered Hagia Sophia, which for nearly a thousand years had been the grandest church in Christendom. The faithful had gathered within its hallowed walls to pray during the city’s last agony. The Muslims halted the celebration of Orthros (morning prayer), while the priests, according to legend, took the sacred vessels and disappeared into the cathedral’s eastern wall, through which they shall return to complete the divine service one day. Muslim men then killed the elderly and weak and led the rest off into slavery.

The Byzantine scholar Bessarion wrote to the Doge of Venice in July 1453, saying that Constantinople had been “sacked by the most inhuman barbarians and the most savage enemies of the Christian faith, by the fiercest of wild beasts. The public treasure has been consumed, private wealth has been destroyed, the temples have been stripped of gold, silver, jewels, the relics of the saints, and other most precious ornaments. Men have been butchered like cattle, women abducted, virgins ravished, and children snatched from the arms of their parents.”

When the slaughter and pillage were finished, Mehmed II ordered an Islamic scholar to mount the high pulpit of the Hagia Sophia and declare that there was no God but Allah, and Muhammad was his prophet. The magnificent old church was turned into a mosque; hundreds of other churches in Constantinople and elsewhere suffered the same fate. Millions of Christians joined the ranks of the dhimmis; others were enslaved, and many were killed.

Once the Muslims had thoroughly subdued Constantinople, they set out to Islamize it. According to the Muslim chronicler Hoca Sa’deddin, tutor of the sixteenth-century Sultans Murad III and Mehmed III, “churches which were within the city were emptied of their vile idols and cleansed from the filthy and idolatrous impurities and by the defacement of their images and the erection of Islamic prayer niches and pulpits many monasteries and chapels became the envy of the gardens of Paradise.”

It has come to be known as Black Tuesday, the Last Day of the World. Ever since, many Greek Christians regard Tuesday as unlucky. The world has forgotten what happened on Black Tuesday and on so many other days like it from India to Spain, and today persists in the fantasy that Islam does not contain an imperialist impulse and that Muslims can be admitted without limit into Western countries without any attempt to determine how many would like ultimately to subjugate and Islamize their new countries, the way their forefathers did to Constantinople so long ago.

There are, however, some people who remember — and they want to do it again. Back in 2008, Sheik Ali Al-Faqir, former Jordanian minister of religious endowment, said this on Al-Aqsa TV: “We proclaim that we will conquer Rome, like Constantinople was conquered once…” Hamas MP and Islamic cleric Yunis Al-Astal said this, also on Al-Aqsa TV several years ago: “Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our Prophet Muhammad.”

The man who was the most popular Islamic TV preacher until his death several years ago, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, also remembered. In writing about “signs of the victory of Islam,” he referred to a hadith: “The Prophet Muhammad was asked: ‘What city will be conquered first, Constantinople or Romiyya?’ He answered: ‘The city of Hirqil [that is, the Roman emperor Heraclius] will be conquered first’ – that is, Constantinople… Romiyya is the city called today ‘Rome,’ the capital of Italy. The city of Hirqil [that is, Constantinople] was conquered by the young 23-year-old Ottoman Muhammad bin Morad, known in history as Muhammad the Conqueror, in 1453. The other city, Romiyya, remains, and we hope and believe [that it too will be conquered].”

Mehmed the Conqueror was motivated by exactly the same religious ideology that motivates the Islamic warriors of the contemporary era. They remember, and still celebrate, what happened in Constantinople on May 29, 1453. For free people in the West and elsewhere, May 29 should be a day for all those threatened by Islamic jihad and Sharia oppression to redouble our efforts to resist, so that more such catastrophes may never again destroy the lives of free people.

Military Madness > Russia and Iran snuggle up closer, apparently, is it part of the Ezekiel prophecy of End Times?

If this is true, and Russia is drawing closer to Iran, it could be another step in the alignment of mostly Islamic countries and Russia preparing for the invasion of Israel as prophecied in Ezekiel 38 and 39. On the other hand, it could just be more NATO/American propaganda.

US sounds alarm as Russia, Iran move toward

full defence ‘partnership’

The Biden administration is accusing Russia of moving to provide advanced military assistance to Iran, including air defense systems, helicopters and fighter jets, part of deepening cooperation between the two nations as Tehran provides drones to support Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby on Friday cited US intelligence assessments for the allegations, saying Russia was offering Iran “an unprecedented level of military and technical support that is transforming their relationship into a full-fledged defence partnership.”

Kirby said Russia and Iran were considering standing up a drone assembly line in Russia for the Ukraine conflict, while Russia was training Iranian pilots on the Sukhoi Su-35 fighter and Iran could receive deliveries of the plane within the year.

“These fighter planes will significantly strengthen Iran’s air force relative to its regional neighbors,” Kirby said.

The US allegations are part of a deliberate effort by the US to drive global isolation of Russia, in this case targeted at Arab nations who have looked to contain Iran's regional malevolence and who have not taken a strong stance against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier this year, the Biden administration accused Saudi Arabia of siding with Russia in the conflict by shepherding cuts by the OPEC+ cartel to boost the price of oil, crucial to funding Moscow's war effort. Saudi Arabia and Iran have been on opposite sides of a yearslong proxy war in Yemen.

Kirby said the arms transfers were in violation of UN Security Council resolutions and that the US would be “using the tools at our disposal to expose and disrupt these activities."

Concerns about the “deepening and a burgeoning defense partnership” between Russia and Iran come as the Biden administration has repeatedly accused Iran of assisting Russia with its invasion of Ukraine.

The administration says Iran sold hundreds of attack drones to Russian over the summer. Kirby on Friday reiterated the administration's belief that Iran is considering the sale of hundreds of ballistic missiles to Russia, but acknowledged that the U.S. doesn’t have "perfect visibility into Iranian thinking on why" the deal hasn't been consummated.

Britain’s UN ambassador, Barbara Woodward, on Friday accused Russia of attempting to obtain more weapons from Iran, including hundreds of ballistic missiles, in return for “an unprecedented level of military and technical support” to Tehran.

“We are concerned that Russia intends to provide Iran with more advanced military components, which will allow Iran to strengthen their weapons capability,” she said. “So it is imperative that the truth about Iran’s supply to Russia is exposed, and is investigated by the UN as soon as possible.”

At a UN Security Council meeting called by Russia to assess the impact of Western weapons pumped into Ukraine, Russia’s UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia again denied that Iran is supplying weapons to Ukraine.

The military industrial complex in Russia can work perfectly fine and doesn’t need anyone’s assistance, whereas the Ukrainian military industry does not basically exist and is being assisted by the Western industry and Western companies,” he said.

The White House says Russia has also turned to North Korea for artillery as the nine-month war grinds on. North Korea has denied the claim.

The White House has repeatedly sought to spotlight Russia’s reliance on Iran and North Korea, another broadly isolated nation on the international stage, for support as it prosecutes its war against Ukraine.

UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly called the Iran-Russia collaboration a “desperate alliance.”

“Iran is now one of Russia’s top military backers,” he said. “Their sordid deals have seen the Iranian regime send hundreds of drones to Moscow, which have been used to attack Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and kill civilians.

“In return, Russia is offering military and technical support to the Iranian regime, which will increase the risk it poses to our partners in the Middle East and to international security.”

Are these just words from an unreliable source, words that are just made up out of thin air, or, is there some proof that this is going on? I have long since given up believing anything that comes out of western intelligence sources as being anything other than fantasy.

The Biden administration recently unveiled sanctions against Iranian firms and entities involved in the transfer of Iranian drones to Russia for use in Ukraine.

It all comes as the administration has condemned the Islamic republic’s violent squelching of protests that erupted throughout Iran after the September death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while she was held by the morality police.

Even as the White House has accused Iran of backing Russia’s war effort, the administration has not abandoned the possibility of reviving the 2015 Iran nuclear deal — scuttled by the Trump administration in 2018.

The pact, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or JCPOA, would provide Tehran with billions in sanctions relief in exchange for the country agreeing to roll back its nuclear program to the limits set by the 2015 deal.

The Abomination of Desolation > Is he here yet, has he spoken in the Holy Place?

Matthew 24:15,16 - 15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains."

This prophecy of Daniel was repeated in two of the Gospels which indicates that it has yet to be fulfilled even though some attribute the fulfilling of the prophecy to Antiochus IV. Antiochus IV Epiphanes lived and died before Christ was born.

So, we must assume there is another fulfilling of this prophecy. But, who, when, and where?

The Abomination of Desolation has yet to reveal himself, or has he?

Does the Holy Place necessarily have to be in Jerusalem? Does it necessarily have to be a synogogue. Most commenters lean that way but would Jesus call the sudden erection of a synogogue a Holy Place when it's likely that Christians will not be allowed to enter?

Think through history and consider what Christian church was the greatest church, the most holy church in the 2000 years of Christendom. No, the Vatican is not a church, it is a throneroom for the Pope, a palace for his bishops, and has nothing to do with anything Jesus experience when He walked on the earth.

There is really only one place that qualifies, and that is the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (Constantinople). The Hagia Sophia was the center of Christianity for about 1000 years. It was the largest building in the world for that same period.

On the morning of the day that Mehmed II finally conquered Constantinople for Islam, streams of light were seen rising from the Hagia Sophia. It was later turned into a mosque, then to a museum by Mustafa Ataturk after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Recently Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, turned it back into a mosque and he, himself stood in the altar and preached Islam. Is Erdogan the Abomination of Desolation? He is a radicalized Muslim with ambitions of reviving the Ottoman Empire.

Last July he spoke from the altar of the Hagia Sophia. In October, Jews were running for their lives from Muslim madmen.

Is this the beginning of the Great Tribulation? What do you think? Are we 'in it' already? If we are, things will happen this very year that will astonish us and fill us with terror. Is your faith ready for that?

=============================================================================

Christians, Are you ready for the Great Tribulation? This will help you, but you might not like it much!

I have great respect for John MacArthur although I've not been his biggest fan. However, his viewpoint on the Great Tribulation here is a grand slam home run, right out of the park.

This should be required reading for every Christian in the world, for what he said is accurate and will happen, soon.

John MacArthur denounces Christian nationalism

as 'faulty viewpoint' linked to postmillennialism

'There is no such thing as Christian nationalism'

Pastor John MacArthur, above, warned Christians against believing they can help God usher in his kingdom by seizing the reins of political power. | Grace Community Church

Pastor John MacArthur denounced Christian nationalism insofar as it is defined as an attempt to usher in the Kingdom of God on Earth through political means, but exhorted Christians to care about what is happening in their nation.

"There is no such thing as Christian nationalism," MacArthur said during a question-and-answer period last month at Grace Community Church in Los Angeles. "The Kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus said, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight.' His Kingdom is not of this world. The kingdom of this world is a separate world. They're not linked together."

MacArthur explained his belief that the prevailing religion or ideology of any nation bears no relevance to whether the Kingdom of God progresses according to His sovereignty.

"Nothing that happens in any nation, whether it's a communist nation, a Muslim nation, or a quote-unquote quasi-Christian nation, or an atheistic nation, nothing in that nation — politically, socially — has anything to do with the advancement of the Kingdom of God," he said. "Because the Kingdom of God is separate from that system. God, in His sovereignty, is building His Church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it, Jesus said."

"So the idea that you should link up some political effort, some political process, some social process, some gain of power or influence in a culture as part of the advance of Christianity is alien to Christianity," he said.

"You never have our Lord approaching anything like that, nor the apostles, and particularly the apostle Paul; he sought to gain no favor with the Roman Empire whatsoever, or for that matter with any other of the rulers that he ran into during his life."

MacArthur went on to clarify that he was not saying Christians should be "indifferent to what happens in the nation," stressing that they should vote for righteous leaders when they have the opportunity, which he noted is becoming increasingly difficult.

“We have to be the people who uphold righteousness. When we come to vote, we want to vote for that which is the most righteous option. Obviously, we can't vote in righteousness, but we have to vote in a way that reflects our commitment to the righteousness of God," he said, adding that Christians ought not to elect leaders who affirm abortion, LGBT behavior, or any other form of immorality.

"It gets harder, doesn't it, nowadays? Because even sometimes, when politicians are more conservative and anti-abortion, they may be sinful and wicked in some other categories. And it's very hard to find out who is really honest and who is simply dishonest and seeking power," he said.

"But in the end, we do what we can [politically] with the understanding that the responsibility of the Church is not to advance the kingdom of this world. That's a faulty viewpoint."

MacArthur, a premillennialist, suggested that Christians who believe they can assist God in establishing His kingdom by seizing the reins of political power are misguided and often driven by a mistaken postmillennial eschatology that believes Jesus will return following an extended period of Christian political and cultural dominance.

"What Scripture teaches is what we're learning from the book of Revelation: Things are going to get worse and worse and worse, and the end of human history is not the Church triumphant, reigning in the world and taking over the structures of human kingdoms. That's not what happens. At the end of human history, the believers are persecuted and murdered. And that’s the very opposite of what Christian nationalism would anticipate."

"So we believe the Bible teaches that things get worse and worse, headed toward the wrath of God, which we're seeing in Revelation. And then our Lord returns, Himself, to establish His Kingdom," he added.

Rob Reiner's recent anti-Christian nationalist documentary "God and Country" implied MacArthur is a Christian nationalist by featuring a brief clip of him saying, "No Christian with half a brain would say, 'We support religious freedom.' We support the truth."

The full context of his January 2021 sermon that appeared in the film shows that MacArthur was saying Christians should oppose "religious freedom" to the extent that it implies all religions are equal.

In his remarks, which were given days before President Joe Biden's inauguration, MacArthur predicted American Christians will face increased persecution from the administration in the name of religious freedom. He also repudiated the idea that Christians are on track to experience a golden age before the Second Coming of Christ.

"We don’t win down here, we lose," he said. "You ready for that? Oh, you were a postmillennialist, you thought we were just going to go waltzing into the Kingdom if you took over the world? No, we lose here — get it? It killed Jesus. It killed all the apostles. We’re all going to be persecuted."

"'If any man comes after Me, let him' — what? — 'deny himself.' Garbage of prosperity gospel. No, we don’t win down here. You ready for that? Just to clear the air, I love this clarity. We don’t win. We lose on this battlefield, but we win on the big one, the eternal one."

I saw someone on FB saying they are looking forward to the Millennium Reign when there will be no more sin in the world. Nowhere does the Bible say that. At the end of the Millennium Reign part of the world rebels against God again and there is a great war.

Sin is still there as it will be in Eternity in the New Earth. Rev 22:15 describes what lies outside of the New Jerusalem: But outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and sexually immoral, and murderers, and idolators, and whoever loves and practices a lie. Sin will not disappear because Satan has been dealt with. As long as there is free will, sin will rear its ugly head, and there will always be free will, love cannot exist without it.

Astonishing Talmudic Prophecy about Current Times

IS THIS JAW-DROPPING TALMUDIC PROPHECY

ABOUT THE END OF TIMES HAPPENING NOW?

February 8, 2024

It can sometimes feel like the world is going up in flames. Israel is at war, people worldwide are going against Biblical values and G-d, and evil regimes want to take over and destroy everyone in their way. Although things can feel uncontrollable, we must remember that the One Above controls everything. This Talmudic prophecy is a good reminder of that.

It gives us hope. Whenever we feel discouraged, we must turn to the Bible and the words of our sages. All the answers for us are there. Everything that happens in this world is less scary if you truly feel and know that G-d controls it all. He does everything for the best. He will never forsake His people. And that is a comforting perspective.

G-d has never broken His promises to the Jewish people. He will fulfill everything He has said. It is not a matter of IF but rather a matter of WHEN.

We pray the completion of the final redemption comes soon. We are living in unbelievable times. In the meantime, we must keep spreading G-d’s message to the world. We must keep our heads held high and know that G-d is looking after the Jewish people. There is no other way to explain how the nation of Israel is still here after thousands of years. Just study some Jewish history, and you will be left in awe.

Desperate Erdogan to lead prayers in the Hagia Sophia - Is the Abomination of Desolation Standing in the Holy Place?

Turkey's Erdogan to lead Hagia Sophia prayers on eve

of fight for political life

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will lead Saturday prayers at Istanbul's iconic Hagia Sophia mosque, ahead of a battle for his political life against a powerful secular rival.

The 69-year-old will be emulating a ritual that Ottoman Sultans performed before they led their men off to war as he braces for Sunday's parliamentary and presidential ballot.

Erdogan has never faced a more energised or united opposition than the one led by retired civil servant Kemal Kilicdaroglu and his disparate alliance of six parties.

The Turkish leader excelled at splitting his rivals and forging unlikely unions while winning one national election after another over 21 years.

But his Islamic-rooted party is reeling from anger over Turkey's economic meltdown and a crackdown on civil liberties during Erdogan's second decade of rule.

The six opposition parties have put aside their political and cultural differences and joined forces for the lone task of pushing Erdogan out.

They are officially supported by Turkey's main pro-Kurdish party — a group that accounts for at least 10 percent of the vote.

'A very silly question'

The math is not adding up in Erdogan's favour and most polls show him trailing his secular rival by a few points.

Kilicdaroglu is now desperately trying to break the 50-percent threshold and avoid a May 28 runoff that could give Erdogan a chance to regroup and reframe the debate.

"Are you ready to bring democracy to this country? To bring peace to this country? I promise, I am ready too," Kilicdaroglu told a rally in Ankara.

Erdogan was put in the uncomfortable position on Friday night television of being asked what he would do if he lost.

The veteran leader bristled and pledged to respect the vote. "This is a very silly question," he said.

"We came to power in Turkey by democratic means, with the approval of our people. If our people were to change their mind, we would do what democracy requires."

His campaign path to re-election will take him to the scene Saturday of one of the more controversial decisions of his recent rule.

'The West got mad'

The Hagia Sophia was built as a Byzantine cathedral — once the world's largest — before being converted into a mosque by the Ottomans.

It was the largest Christian cathedral for more than 1000 years and was the centre of eastern orthodoxy for much of that time. Erdogan has led prayers there once before. It struck me that he might have fulfilled the prophecy of the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy place.

Jesus said, “‘Therefore when you see the “abomination of desolation,” spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place’ (whoever reads, let him understand), ‘then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains’” (Matt 24:15-16).

The Hagia Sophia was converted into a museum when Mustafa Kemal Ataturk created a secular post-Ottoman Turkey in 1923.

Erdogan's decision to convert it back into a mosque in 2020 solidified his hero status among his religious supporters and contributed to growing Western unease with his rule.

"The entire West got mad — but I did it," Erdogan told an Istanbul rally on Saturday.

Erdogan has played up religious themes and used culture wars to try and energise his conservative and nationalist base.

He brands the opposition as a "pro-LGBT" lobby that takes orders from outlawed Kurdish militants and is bankrolled by the West.

The strident message appears to be aimed at taking voters' minds off Turkey's most dire economic crisis of his entire rule.

The official annual inflation rate touched 85 percent last year. Economists think the real figure could have been much higher and blame the crisis on Erdogan's unconventional financial theories.

Kilicdaroglu pledges to do away with them immediately after taking office.

'We're not happy'

But the starkness of the choice confronting Turkey's 64 million voters is accompanied by soaring tensions and lingering fears over what Erdogan would do if he lost a narrow vote.

Kilicdaroglu wore a bulletproof vest to his two rallies on Friday after receiving what his party described as a credible threat on his life.

He gave an uncharacteristically short evening speech in Ankara that was originally played up by his campaign.

Kilicdaroglu's running mate Ekrem Imamoglu — a popular figure who beat Erdogan's ally in controversial 2019 Istanbul mayoral polls — was pelted by rocks days earlier while touring Turkey's conservative heartland.

Turkish officials launched a formal investigation and made some arrests.

But several senior officials in Erdogan's ruling party accused the Istanbul mayor of provoking the incident.

The voting will include southeastern regions that lie in ruins in the wake of a February quake that claimed more than 50,000 lives.

The level of anger in these traditionally pro-Erdogan regions could also help swing Sunday's outcome.

"We're not happy to be voting in the middle of rubble, but we want the government to change," said Diber Simsek, a resident of the city of Antakya that sustained major damage in the disaster.

Approaching Midnight > Iran Determined to Obliterate Israel - Will That Kick-Off The Great Tribulation

..

Israel warns the world: Threat is ready to take it into 'dark abyss'

Israel's Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has accused Iran of wanting to wipe out Tel Aviv and of seeking world domination via "radical militant Islam." The warning comes after Tehran once-again threatened to destroy Israel.

In a pre-recorded message delivered during the Government Press Organization's annual Christian Media Summit on Thursday, the PM remarked that "Here in Israel, we are fighting a very visible enemy, radical militant Islam that is sweeping across the Middle East."

The terror that begins in Tehran seeks to destroy Israel,
dominate the world, and drive it into a dark abyss.

The premier's remarks coincide with threats issued by the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh. He warned that any mistake made by Israel in its dealings with Tehran will only accelerate Iran's eradication of the Jewish state.

In his address, however, Bennett also noted positive developments in regional relations for Tel Aviv, claiming that Israel was "facing a new dawn" after creating ties with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain under the Abraham Accords, inked last year. The agreement saw Israel normalize relations with the two nations.

Israel's navy publicly participated in joint exercises with the UAE and Bahrain in a first-of-its-kind operation, which started on Wednesday. While it was not clearly declared anywhere, Tel Aviv's media has surmised that the drills were also to send a warning to Iran.

Tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv have simmered dangerously close to boiling point in recent months, with the latter expressing grievances over Iran's nuclear program.

In October, Israel's foreign minister proclaimed that the nation "reserves the right to act at any given moment and in any way" and insisted the Islamic republic must not get hold of an atomic bomb.

Iranian government and military have a hatred for Israel that the average Iranian does not have. Their hatred is Satanic and there can be no doubt that when the Great Tribulation breaks out, it will break out of Iran. Their Mahdi, or 11th Imam, will be the anti-Christ described in the Bible. I fully expect him to appear in this decade.

Actually, I expect the Great Tribulation to end at about the end of this decade. The end of tis decade will also be the end of the 2nd millennium. Unfortunately, Cesar and Pope Gregory both erred when they zeroed the calendar on Christ's birth. They should have been zeroed on His Resurrection. It they had been, then this year would be 1991 and the millennium would end in just over 9 years - 2000 being the last year of the millennium.

Is it a bit silly to assume Christ will return 2000 years after He left? Maybe. But unfortunately, there are so many other signs arising that our year 2030 sounds just about right.

If you are a Christian and you think Jesus will come and take you home before things get really bad, you need to know that you will be tested and you must be prepared to die for God.

End Times Notes - Another False Jesus Cult Growing in a Siberian Forest

Siberian cult leader 'Vissarion' who claims to be ‘re-incarnation of Jesus Christ’
arrested over psychological violence
By Jonny Tickle

Police in Siberia have arrested three leaders of the notorious ‘Church of the Last Testament’ religious sect on suspicion of using psychological violence to extract income, resulting in “serious harm” to their followers.

Founded in 1991, the movement forbids its adherents from smoking, drinking or exchanging money, and they live as vegetarian subsistence farmers. The sect's creator, Sergey Torop, believes he is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ and brands himself as 'Vissarion’.

Jesus of Siberia   25:47

According to Russia's Investigative Committee, Torop, along with other leaders Vadim Redkin and Vladimir Vedernikov, will be charged with “creating a religious association whose activities involve violence against citizens.”

The three men were arrested in the Siberian region of Krasnoyarsk, about 4,500 km (2796 miles) east of Moscow. The area has several villages built by followers of Vissarion, including one called Tiberkul, commonly known as “the City of the Sun,” which was constructed in 1995.

A member of the religious organization, Alexander Staroverov, posted several videos on Facebook showing masked men walking around the village, some of whom were armed.

The sect came under legal scrutiny on two separate occasions in 2020. In February, members of the church were interrogated as part of an investigation into corruption and fraud in the Istoki School, attended by the children of Vissarion's followers. In August, a criminal case was opened after representatives of Vissarion prevented journalists from filming inside the community.

The Church of the Last Testament became well known in the West in 2012, when Vice News released a documentary on its Youtube channel called ‘Siberian Cult Leader Thinks He's Jesus’. In 2014, a similar documentary called ‘Siberian 'Messiah’ was filmed by RT.

There are many cults and non-cult people who desire to create Heaven on Earth. The Bible promises that Jesus will return to Earth and rule over it for 1000 years before creating a New Heaven and a New Earth. When He does return, everyone will know it. He will not return in the middle of a Siberian forest, or on the streets of New York City as a woman. He will return to Mount Zion.

The Bible also warns that there will be many who come in his name prior to that time. Vissarion and his followers, by their isolation, will probably not be prepared for the coming of the real Christ. They must first be tried and tested which they have little possibility of passing while believing in a false Christ.

Dan 11:35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
