The Media is the Message > CBS’ “Face the Nation” edits Kristi Noem comments to make Garcia look better and the government look worse

Kristi Noem accuses CBS of ‘shamefully’ editing her interview on Kilmar Abrego Garcia to ‘whitewash’ MS-13 gang affiliation

WASHINGTON — Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem went on a tirade against CBS News on Sunday over allegations the network edited her interview about alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal migrant that theTrump administration deported to El Salvador earlier this year.

Noem was on CBS’ “Face the Nation” discussing Abrego Garcia Sunday morning, she said on X, but noticed by afternoon that the footage had been clipped to remove part of her answer.

“This individual was a known human smuggler, a MS-13 gang member, an individual who was a wife beater, and someone who was so perverted that he solicited nude photos from minors, and even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off, he was so sick in what he was doing and how he was treating small children,” the DHS chief said in the full, unaired clip.

Noem claimed a portion of her interview was cut from CBS.

“So he needs to never be in the United States of America and our administration is making sure we’re doing all that we can to bring him to justice,” she added.

“Secretary Noem’s “Face The Nation” interview was edited for time and met all CBS News standards,” a CBS rep told The Post. “The entire interview is publicly available on YouTube, and the full transcript was posted early Sunday morning at CBSNews.com

Noem wrote on X, “This morning, I joined CBS to report the facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead, CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety.”

A US federal immigration judge ruled in 2019 that Abrego Garcia couldn’t be deported to El Salvador due to threats from local gangs — but the Trump administration flew him along with hundreds of other alleged gang members out of the country to a megaprison in the Central American nation earlier this year.

The Trump administration claimed he was a member of the violent MS-13 gang — a US-designated foreign terrorist organization — based on a determination during that 2019 court proceeding.

Abrego Garcia and his defense attorneys have denied the allegation.

Democrats visited with and advocated for Abrego Garcia, saying he was “wrongfully” removed to El Salvador and kept there for weeks first at the notorious prison CECOT and then at a lower-security facility.

The purported Salvadoran gangbanger was eventually brought back to the US in June and charged with human smuggling, but released briefly before that trial only to be apprehended again by ICE on Aug. 25

He now faces the possibility of being deported to Uganda after having declined to plead guilty to the smuggling charges as part of an agreement that would send him to Costa Rica instead.

Abrego Garcia’s lawyers are still working on getting him asylum in the US. His first attempt in 2019 was denied, but if this one is approved, it could put him on a pathway to a green card and American citizenship.

Anti-PC Professor Jordan Peterson Slams UK Media over Cringeworthy Сhannel 4 Interview

How the Liberal media hides the truth
and vilifies the right

A professor who is gaining support for his campaign against political correctness has attacked the British media, after he was accused of forming an army of trolls against a reporter following an interview on Channel 4.

Jordan Peterson, a Canadian lecturer, has criticized the way Cathy Newman, a Channel 4 anchor, turned on him in an interview, before he rebuked her over comments he made on transgender personal pronouns.

A social media storm erupted, with Peterson’s growing fanbase mocking Newman and posting videos of the moment he left her speechless. The anchor was lost for words after she called him out for offending transgender people, only for Peterson to respond by hailing Newman’s own right to offend him with her line of questioning.

In a heated 30-minute exchange, now watched tens of thousands of times, Peterson asked the presenter why she felt she could use her right to freedom of speech but he could not use his.

Peterson came to prominence when he criticized the Canadian government’s Bill C-16, which proposed including gender identity and orientation in the Canadian Human Rights Act, thus making it illegal to discriminate based on outward expression of gender. The clinical psychologist refused to accept the bill and was attacked in his country.

Now he has hit out at the Guardian, among other papers, for how it covered the exchange. Speaking to Joe Rogan on his eponymous podcast, Peterson described how following the interview he was subjected to abuse – yet only the trolling aimed at Newman was widely reported.

Presenter Rogan said he watched the interview “several times” and was shocked by the way Newman spoke to the writer. “She went into it incredibly confrontational, not trying to find your actual position,” he said.

Peterson told how Newman changed dramatically when they met on screen, after being pleasant in the green room.

“I was the hypothetical villain of her imagination,” he said. “As soon as the cameras went on she was a completely different person, and I thought, ‘oh, I see.’ This is why YouTube is going to kill TV, because television by its nature, these narrow broadcast and technologies, they rely on forcing the story because it has to happen now.

“It hasn’t ceased to amaze me that I think, they thought the interview went fine. I know some people behind the scenes who know what’s going on behind the scenes and they are shell-shocked.”

What Peterson objected to most was how he was later further vilified, along with his fans.

He told Rogan: “And then of course there was the counter-response, the Guardian the next day published an article saying the head of Channel 4 had to call in security because of threats.

“About 20 newspapers picked that up and said Cathy Newman is being harassed by an army of online trolls.”

The presenter and Peterson argued there were “way more” negative comments and violent threats towards the professor than there were to Newman.

Following the interview and the subsequent fall out, Daily Mail contributor Peter Hitchens tweeted to accuse fans of Peterson of being involved in a cult.

The controversial Peterson has also faced accusations of being associated with the alt-right.

The lecturer is currently promoting his new book, ‘12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos’.

Egyptian Activist Hangs Israeli Flag, Calls for End to Media’s ‘Dishonest Reporting’ About Jewish State

An Egyptian-Muslim peace activist expressed strong support for Israel on Monday and called on major media outlets to halt their biased coverage of the Jewish state.

In a video posted on Facebook, Ahmed Meligy criticized the media’s “dishonest reporting” and “brainwash methods” in relation to the current wave of violence in Israel. Filming from Egypt, he spoke to the camera with Israeli and Egyptian flags hanging on the wall behind him. After proclaiming his passion for his home country, the activist said he hung the Israeli flag as well because Israel has the right to be recognized “in a proper, decent, honest way.”

Meligy specifically mentioned the BBC and The Washington Post for “undermining what’s going on in Israel to the point that they are trying to bury it, so the world won’t know.” He cited specific headlines from both media outlets, which report on Palestinians being killed, but fail to identify them as terrorists and attackers.

If you think they are bad, and they are, try reading RT.

“Israel has the right to be recognized. What’s going on has to be mentioned fairly without these cheap tactics,” he said. “This [the biased reporting] has nothing to do with honesty. This has nothing to do with integrity and it’s a shame.”

The Egyptian activist urged the public to become the “true news reporters,” saying, “It is our duty to act and show the world what’s going on in Israel.”

Egyptian Activist: "We Were Taught to Hate Israel"

"We have so much in common. Some of my Israeli friends are more Arab then a lot of Arabs I know," said Egyptian activist Ahmed Meligy.

Hitler good; Jew bad

"When I was a kid, I wondered why they told us that Adolph Hitler was a good guy and that he did good by the Holocaust," reminisced Ahmed Meligy, a self described Egyptian peace activist. "This sounded like pure racism and ignorance, but I couldn't speak my mind or say that out loud," he continued. Meligy has been making waves since publishing a series of editorials in the Jerusalem Post and other media outlets about his opposition to a more radicalized, less democratic Egyptian government.

The young man gave a live phone interview from Alexandria, Egypt on Israel National Radio's News & Views call-in show with Tamar Yonah.

"I cannot blame them," said Meligy, referring to anti-Jewish sentiment in Egyptian society. "Years ago while I was in school, we didn't have internet, or cable TV. We just had government TV and this was the only source of information we had," Meligy stated.

President Hosni Mubarak ruled Egypt from 1981 until 2011 when he was ousted. The June elections in Egypt have caused Meligy and others concern that the new government will not allow any more freedoms then the old one.

"Our government was telling us whatever they wanted," continued Meligy. "We saw everything from their view. They were saying Israel is this very big monster. They were magnifying it."

Meligy said he has been seeking to communicate with non-Egyptians, specifically Israelis. He found Arutz Sheva - Israel National Radio show host Tamar Yonah through Facebook. "I was very curious about the Jewish people and wanted to know everything," he said.

Meligy said he does not blame the Egyptian people for being anti-Jewish because "they were fed propaganda and hatred toward the Jewish world."

Meligy expressed initial shock when he first communicated with real Israelis. "One of the things they were telling us was that the Israelis have nothing to do with the Middle East and Israelis are nothing but Europeans and Americans," he enthused. "I used to believe that, until I started to have Israeli friends who listened to the same music I listen to, who play the same video games I play, who love soccer. We have so much in common. They are some times that my Israeli friends are more Arab then a lot of Arabs I know. So this is why I started my activism. I have to give to show the truth to my people and show the truth to your people that we are not terrorists," said Meligy.

Unfortunately, I am unable to find a good link to this interview.
