G20 leaders paper over serious divisions on Ukraine and climate change

G20 leaders papered over deep divisions on the war in Ukraine and tackling

climate change Saturday, avoiding direct criticism of Moscow and any

concrete pledge to phase out polluting fossil fuels.

Leaders of the grouping, which brings together Russia as well as some of Ukraine's most ardent backers, have struggled to agree on much, in particular about the 18-month-old invasion.

But facing a major diplomatic embarrassment, host India had pressed members to agree a common statement at a two-day summit in the capital New Delhi.

With Vladimir Putin staying home to dodge political opprobrium and the risk of arrest on war crimes charges, the Group of 20 denounced the use of force for territorial gain but refrained from direct criticism of Russia by name.

"There were different views and assessments of the situation," the leaders' statement said.

Does that mean that some countries suspect that the war was provoked by NATO and America?

European nations and the United States had pressed for the G20 not to water down its earlier condemnation of a war that has caused food and fuel price spikes worldwide.

With long-time Russian ally India in the G20 chair, Ukraine's allies appeared to have failed in that bid.

Kyiv's foreign ministry denounced the statement as "nothing to be proud of", but a top White House official said Washington was happy with the outcome.

"From our perspective, it does a very good job," US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told reporters.

He said the G20 statement stood up "for the principle that states cannot use force to seek territorial acquisition or to violate the territorial integrity and sovereignty or political independence of other states."

With Putin repeatedly raising the spectre of the conflict turning atomic, Sullivan also pointed to the G20's agreement that "the use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible".

Except for depleted uranium bullets. Also, 'admissible' are bioweapons. Remember the Pentagon built and operated more than 2 dozen bioweapons labs in Ukraine before the Russian invasion.

What good does it do to say "the use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible"? Do you think a country that is being destroyed cares about "what is admissable"?

Biden regime forced Marines to pick up human feces

before they were allowed to leave Kabul in Aug. 2021

SEP 13, 2023 5:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER

The traitor class that has captured the U.S. government despises the U.S. military rank-and-file. They control the brass, but they are aware that the ranks are still filled with patriots, and they’re doing their best to remedy that.

Marines were ordered to pick up human feces before they were allowed to leave Kabul:

Degrading and ridiculous

by Miranda Devine, New York Post, September 10, 2023:

Before they were allowed to leave Kabul in August 2021, having just lost 13 comrades to a suicide bomber, US Marines were ordered to pick up human feces and other disgusting trash at the airport so as to leave it pristine for the Taliban.

The Kabul airport passenger terminal was filthy on Aug. 28, 2021, after the botched Afghanistan withdrawal.

More than 120,000 Afghans had camped there for a week, “defecating and leaving trash, bags, clothes, and other unspeakable things.”…

The order to clean “came with a threat that we would not leave at all if it was not completed,” one junior Marine told authors Jerry Dunleavy and James Hasson.

“It was degrading and ridiculous…

Trudeau > Another deeply embarrassing trip to India - Photos

Trudeau HUMILIATED AGAIN! Another disastrous India trip

By Harrison Faulkner -September 11, 2023

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has once again found a way to embarrass Canadians while on an international trip.

This time, Trudeau found himself in hot water at the G20 summit held in New Delhi by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is no secret that Canada-India relations under Trudeau’s leadership have been at rock bottom. However, Modi’s latest snub and Trudeau’s response caught the ire of Indian pundits, who have accused our prime minister of failing to contain a rising Khalistani movement in Canada while lecturing the world on supporting peaceful protests and also cracking down on protests in Canada.

To cap off the humiliation for Trudeau and for Canadians, the prime minister's jet has left Trudeau stranded in India.

Tune into Ratio’d with Harrison Faulkner!

I enjoyed the various expressions on Trudeau's face that I'd never seen before. It is clear that Biden, Modi, and perhaps others knocked him completely out of character. Consequently, this is the Real Justin Trudeau!

Fellow far-left leader (Biden) gives Justin 'what-for'. It looks like Justin wants to hit him. Rishi Sunak (UK PM) seems to be enjoying it.

The first of a few 'deer in the headlights' expressions

Someone is going to get fired for this. It's probably a Conservative conspiracy.

Ummm! Ahhh!

"I hate visiting countries where I don't control the media"

From his previous trip to India. In a character he created.

Philippines Leader Calls Obama ‘Son of a B****,’ Rejects Lecturing from US on Human Rights

One would think the President of the United States would know
not to irritate a coiled snake

The reference to the war in Syria in the video is a good example of the difference in philosophy between the two presidents. The US and it's allies seemed content to keep the fighting to a level where no side was in danger of winning. It wasn't until Russia stepped in that the US suddenly decided that maybe they should actually try and win.

Duterte is trying to stop the devastating effects of drugs on the Filipinos. It seems the U.S. would rather he keep the status quo. The murders on the streets is a terrible violation of human rights, but in the end may produce a country that is much better off for it as long as the killing ends when the drugs do.

In an acid comment, Philippines leader Rodrigo Duterte called Barack Obama a “son of a b****,” warning the US president against lecturing him over the Philippines’ human rights record in its brutal war on drugs at a global summit in Laos, where the two are set to meet.

“Son of a b****, I will curse you in that forum," the acid-tongued Duterte said before departing for Laos, where the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) is hosting a meeting of global leaders, including the US and Russia.

The statement came in reaction to the information President Obama was to address the alleged extrajudicial killings during the anti-drug campaign in the Philippines that has already claimed 2,400 lives.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Duterte insisted he was “a president of a sovereign state” and that his country has “long ceased to be a colony of the United States."

“I do not have any master except the Filipino people, nobody but nobody,” Duterte went on to say, also cautioning other world leaders about addressing the issue of the anti-drug campaign in his country.

The Philippines president was set to meet Barack Obama on Tuesday, but it appears the talks are now in jeopardy. The US leader has now ordered his team to look into whether a “constructive, productive” dialogue is possible under the current circumstances.

"I always want to make sure if I'm having a meeting that it's actually productive and we're getting something done," Obama told reporters in a press conference following the G20 summit in China.

"The issue of how we approach fighting crime and drug trafficking is a serious one for all of us. We've got to do it the right way," the US leader went on to say. He noted that in case the meeting takes place, the “topic will be raised.”

After the arrival in Laos on Monday, Duterte said he would still consider talks with Obama. “Maybe, if I feel good. I don't want to quarrel with him.”

Rodrigo Duterte came to power in May, promising to wipe out drug dealers and put an end to the problem in his country. According to the latest police figures cited by AFP, since June law enforcers have killed 1,011 suspected criminals, with an additional 1,391 “deaths under investigation.”

The approach gained vast support among the average public, however raising concerns from political opponents, human rights groups and the US in particular.

"More people will be killed. Plenty will be killed until the last pusher is out of the streets. Until the [last] drug manufacturer is killed, we will continue and I will continue," Duterte said Monday.

The Philippines leader is notorious for his inflammatory comments. On one occasion he also called Pope Francis “a son of a b****.”

During the presidential election campaign that brought him to power, Duterte also lashed out at the US ambassador to the Philippines, calling him a homosexual.

Putin Gets Mauled at G20 Summit

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper had a showdown with Vladimir Putin on Saturday, telling the Russian leader to "get out of Ukraine" in a dustup at the Group of 20 summit in Australia.
G20 Summit Leaders Brisbane, Australia
Harper's spokesman, Jason MacDonald, said the prime minister was speaking to a group of G20 leaders at a private leaders' retreat on Saturday morning when Putin approached and extended his hand.

MacDonald said Harper told Putin: "I guess I'll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: You need to get out of Ukraine."

According to MacDonald, Putin did not respond positively. He didn't provide further details.

But a spokesman for the Russian delegation said Putin's response was: "That's impossible because we are not there."

Putin's stone-faced lying is for his home audience. He knows that everyone else in the world knows he's lying, but he doesn't care. The Russian people still believe him and that's all that is important to him as he carries on his expansion of the Russian Federation for his own glory.

But it was clear that Putin's actions over the past few days were top of mind for the leaders.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott lashed out at the Russian leader for apparently flexing his military muscles by sending four Russian navy ships to stalk Australia's northern coast in the days leading up to the G20 summit.

Australian PM Tony Abbott
"Russia would be so much more attractive if it was aspiring to be a superpower for peace and freedom and prosperity, if it was trying to be a superpower for ideas and for values, instead of trying to recreate the lost glories of czarism or the old Soviet Union," he said.

Britain's David Cameron threatened Russia with further sanctions if it doesn't resolve the Ukrainian conflict amid reports that Russian troops and tanks are flooding into the eastern reaches of Ukraine.

Harper has been a vehement Putin critic for months, with Canada and Russia trading a number of retaliatory sanctions.

British PM David Cameron
He recently condemned the "continued penetration of Russian presence in eastern Ukraine and obvious actions to extend and provoke additional violence. That's of great concern to us."

Putin is packing up to leave the summit early today.

The past six weeks - from Wikipedia:

On 5 September, representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the Donetsk People's Republic and the Lugansk People's Republic signed the Minsk Protocol, a twelve-point agreement that implemented a ceasefire. On 10 September, Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko said most of the Russian forces had withdrawn from Ukrainian territory, and that this heightened the chances for a lasting cease-fire in the southeast.

On 13 September, it was reported Russia had sent a convoy of aid into eastern Ukraine without inspection by Ukraine, claiming this convoy was part of the ceasefire agreement. NATO said Russian forces were still operating in Ukraine in unknown numbers, and the ceasefire was not working. NATO said Russian forces were re-positioning to bring great pressure on Mariupol (2nd largest city in Donetsk).

In November 2014 the Ukrainian military reported "intensive" movement of troops and equipment from Russia into the separatist controlled parts of eastern Ukraine. Associated Press reported 80 unmarked military vehicles on the move in rebel-controlled areas of eastern Ukraine. Three separate columns were seen, one near the main separatist stronghold of Donetsk and two outside the town of Snizhne. Several of the trucks were seen to be carrying troops. "Separatists have always insisted they are armed with equipment captured from Ukrainian forces, but the sheer scale and quality of their armaments have strained the credibility of that claim."

OSCE Special Monitoring Mission observed convoys of heavy weapons and tanks without insignia. According to an independent assessment provided to The Daily Beast there were as many as 7,000 Russian troops inside Ukraine in early November 2014 with between 40,000 and 50,000 at the country’s eastern border. Ukraine's currency lost value amid signs that Moscow had dispatched troops and tanks to reinforce separatists. OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) monitors further observed vehicles apparently used to transport soldiers' bodies crossing the Russian-Ukrainian border - in one case a vehicle marked "Cargo 200" - Russia's military code for soldiers killed in action - crossed from Russia into Ukraine on November 11 2014 and later returned.

Several members of the international community and organizations such as Amnesty International have criticized Russia for its actions in post-revolutionary Ukraine, and condemned Russia, accusing it of breaking international law and violating Ukrainian sovereignty. Many countries implemented economic sanctions against Russia or Russian individuals or companies, to which Russia responded in kind. The Kremlin has tried to systematically intimidate and silence human rights workers who have raised questions about Russian soldiers' deaths in the conflict.
