France: Four Muslims plot jihad massacre on Paris’ famed Champs Elysées

Only in the sixth paragraph of this RFI story do we get any hint of what kind of terrorists these were. The establishment media remains extremely reluctant to call Islamic jihadis by their right names. To do so would be “Islamophobic.”

French court jails four for plotting Champs Elysées terror attack

by Michael Fitzpatrick,
RFI, April 21, 2023

A French court has sentenced four men to between five and 15 years in jail for plotting an attack on Paris’s emblematic Champs Elysées avenue. A fifth defendant walked free, having already served his sentence in pre-trial custody.

The five defendants were aged 17 to 39 when they were arrested in 2019 on suspicion of planning to attack policemen and civilians on the central Paris shopping street, not far from the presidential palace.

All except one were found guilty of “terrorist conspiracy” on Thursday after a trial which was held behind closed doors.

The oldest member of the group was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while a second was jailed for 12 years.

A third, who was a minor at the time of his arrest but is considered by investigators to have been the leader of the conspiracy, was also given a 12-year jail term.

He was arrested in Germany in 2017 when he was just 15 for trying to join the Islamic State jihadist group in the terrorist organisation’s Syrian heartland.

Investigators said he had planned to attack a police patrol on the Champs Elysées and “commit a massacre”.

A fourth accused, a Chechen national who was also a minor at the time of the conspiracy, was handed a five-year term for failing to inform the police about the plan….

The small boat migrant who smuggled himself into Britain and

claimed to be 17 – but he was really an ex-Isis fighter aged 42

by Chris Pollard and David Barrett,
Daily Mail, April 22, 2023:

A former Isis fighter smuggled himself into Britain on a small boat across the Channel, posing as a 17-year-old – despite being aged 42, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The man is thought to be the oldest person to pretend to be an unaccompanied minor and is understood to have spent up to a week in a local authority residential facility with other under-18s before his lies were exposed.

The Iraqi, named only as ‘AJ’, is a security threat because of his previous active service with the terror group in his own country.

He is staying in a three-star hotel along with other adult migrants as he appeals a decision – at taxpayers’ expense – to have him deported.

Yesterday, a Home Office spokesman described his case as one of the most ‘egregious examples’ of why this country must stop asylum-seekers crossing from France.

The revelation comes as Rishi Sunak granted a concession to 60 Tory rebel MPs by amending the Illegal Migration Bill – seen as vital to his ‘stop the boats’ pledge – to include compulsory age checks for those claiming they are children.

The MoS can reveal that ‘AJ’ arrived in late 2021, crossing the Channel in a small boat and using fake ID he bought online.

Despite his thick beard, receding hair and ‘numerous’ tattoos on his arms and neck, he applied for asylum as an Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Child and was put in local authority care in London.

But after suspicious officials checked his fingerprints against a Europe-wide database of asylum-seekers, his true identity was exposed and he was apprehended.

The MoS has learned that he was first encountered by US and UK security forces in Iraq in 2006 and recorded as a terrorist.

He is now on conditional bail and is fighting his deportation in a Legal Aid-funded case, claiming he is suffering from depression which can only be treated by the NHS and that deporting him to Iraq would breach his human rights…..

Terrorists should not be able to claim 'human rights'!

UK to introduce age checks after 42-y/o bearded Islamic State jihadist enters as a child

Despite a “thick beard, receding hair and ‘numerous’ tattoos on his arms and neck,” a 42-year-old Islamic State jihadist “applied for asylum as an Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Child” and was “put in local authority care in London.” Migrants lying about their age to improve their chances of receiving asylum is a regular, tolerated practice, despite the obvious security risks.

In Sweden, a dental hygienist who proved that child “refugees” were actually adults got fired. Not long before that, a cooperation agreement between Sweden and Morocco to share their fingerprint databases revealed that 90% of Muslim of migrants from Morocco were lying about their age. It was also discovered in Austria that 40% of Muslim migrants lied about their age, and many were involved in high-profile crimes.

In France, Paris police also discovered that among 229 “minor” Muslim migrants, 216 were actually adults. In a most ridiculous case in the UK (before this latest one), a balding Muslim migrant who was described as “looking about 40” but claimed to be 15 got to stay in school. Parents were not duly notified by the school, either. So now that a 42-year-old bearded Islamic State fighter decided to make a mockery out of the UK and pose as a child migrant, authorities have finally decided to introduce age checks for those who claim to be child migrants. Such checks should have been implemented long ago in the UK and elsewhere.  The Iraqi jihadi was also placed in a child migrant facility. One can expect anything from those who support open-door immigration policies.

Paris Shooting Kills Police Officer, Wounds 2; Islamic State Claims Credit

Paris - under multiculturalism - how do you like it so far?

"What can you say? It just never ends," President Donald Trump said Thursday.

UPI -- French authorities said a police officer was shot dead Thursday on one of the best-known streets in downtown Paris -- an attack that also left the gunman dead and has investigators working to determine if it was terror-related.

The gunfire began Thursday night on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the area was evacuated, authorities said. Two other police officers were wounded in the shooting.

There were no immediate reports of civilian casualties. Witnesses said the gunman used an AK-47-type rifle in the attack.

"We heard shooting and everyone ran in panic. People were crying," one witness told France's The Local.

France's Prefecture National Police advised people to stay clear of the area, which is located on the western flank of Paris.

Authorities said the gunman, whose name was not immediately disclosed, had been known to police and was the subject of a prior investigation, Sky News reported.

"At first we thought it was firecrackers but then we realized it was a shooting and everyone ran in panic. People were crying," one witness told French television.

"The area was cleared really quickly."

The Islamic State terror group claimed credit for the shooting.

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is a popular shopping and tourist district in Paris near the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower.

"Our condolences from our country to the people of France," U.S. President Donald Trump said at a joint news conference with Italian prime minister Paolo Gentiloni Thursday.

"It is happening again," he continued. "It is a very, very terrible thing that's going on in the world today but it looks like another terrorist attack. What can you say? It just never ends. We have to be strong and we have to be vigilant -- and I have been saying it for a long time."

Officials, though, weren't immediately certain whether the shooting was terror-related. Thursday's incident was the second time this year a police officer was shot on the Champs-Élysées -- and came as France prepares for the first round of its presidential election on Sunday.

Paris has been on high alert for months out of concern the city may again be targeted by militants. More than 100 people were killed in a coordinated attack in November 2015. A dozen people were killed ten months earlier in an attack on the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. Tuesday, two men were arrested in Marseille on suspicion of plotting various attacks in France.

"If you're in Paris, monitor local news. Champs-Elysées has been closed. Authorities are telling people to avoid the area after a shooting," the U.S. Department of State said in a tweet.

Almost 1,000 Cars Torched Around France on New Year's Eve

But government insists it 'went particularly well'

Henry Samuel, Paris, Telegraph

Vandals in France torched 945 parked cars over New Year's Eve in an arson rampage that has become a sinister annual "tradition" and amid a row over whether the government had sought to play down the figures.

According to the French interior ministry, the total of 945, which included cars that were either "totally destroyed" or "more lightly affected", amounted to a 17 per cent rise compared to last year.

Despite this, New Year's Eve "went off without any major incident", the interior ministry insisted in a statement, adding that there were only "a few troubles with public order",

In fact, police arrested 454 people over the night, 301 of whom were taken into custody.

I guess the word 'few' has many definitions.

On Sunday, the ministry had chosen to release a much lower figure of 650 cars torched, as this only indicated the number of vehicles "set on fire" and not those engulfed in the ensuing flames.

So if you set one car on fire and the car next to it burns, it doesn't count; it's a freebee!

The lower figure enabled it to claim: "Once again this year, the overall  number of vehicles burned demonstrates that, however intolerable, the phenomenon is contained". By this calculation, the rise, it said, was only 48 cars.

But the the lower figure prompted the far-right Front National to denounce what it called the government's "extremely hazy security record".

"The new interior minister Bruno Le Roux…(initially) didn't communicate the number of vehicles burned and considers that the number of cars directly set on fire to be 'contained' while even this constitutes a signifiant rise of 8 per cent," the FN said in a statement.

Le Monde, the national daily newspaper, also accused the ministry of muddying the waters.

The government responded that the figures released were the "most pertinent and the most coherent".

"There is absolutely no attempt at hiding anything," said Pierre Henry Brandet, an interior ministry spokesman.

"You have to look at the trend over several years, and what is significant is that there has been a significant drop over five years,"he said.

But, M Brandet, it doesn't help if the drop came as a result of how you count the number of cars. Is that method of counting consistent through the years? Statistics are meaningless otherwise.

Mr Brandet conceded, however, that the figure was still too high, adding: "These incidents are not tolerable and the perpetrators must be found and answer for their acts before justice."

Over New Year, a fire fighter in the eastern department of Ain was hurt while trying to extinguish one car.

In Nice, where security has been extremely tight since the deadly Bastille Day truck attack of last year, two police officers were hurt when revellers threw "projectiles" at them.

Bruno le Roux, the interior minister, said that no attack on security would not be tolerated.

"I regret that once again there were too many instances of security forces being hit with objects, or faced with attacks or insults," he said.

But he thanked the tens of thousands of police and firefighters, adding that they "allowed December 31st to go off particularly well".

With France under a state of emergency since a spate of terror attacks, some 90,000 security forces were out in its streets on New Year's Eve to police mass gatherings such on Paris' famed Champs-Elysées, where half a million revellers convened.

French domestic intelligence agents also reportedly swooped on a string of individuals ahead of festivities who they suspected might have been tempted to wreak violence.

The custom of setting vehicles alight on New Year’s Eve is said to have kicked off around Strasbourg, eastern France in the 1990s, in the the city’s deprived, high-immigrant districts.

It quickly caught on among disaffected youths in cities across the country, and is seen by some as a litmus test of general social unrest.

The most notorious spate of car burnings in recent years was seen in the 2005 riots when hundreds of vehicles were torched.

As stated above, the 'tradition' began in mainly Muslim areas. Who knows how many Muslims were involved in this year's event but it is safe to say many. Of course, the police or government will never tell us, they don't want you blaming Muslims for doing what they do.

Meanwhile, France is in a state of emergency; 90,000 police or military were on the streets; nearly a thousand cars burnt; police were attacked; several hundred people were arrested; and the government declares it a good night! Good grief!

Former French president Nicholas Sarkozy briefly abandoned issuing a breakdown of New Year's Eve car burnings in 2010-11 amid fears this was sparking copycat actions, but it has since been re-instated.
