Italy: 17-year-old girl downloaded instructions for making explosive belt, desired ‘martyrdom in the name of Allah’
Where did she get this idea? Who taught her Islam? Will Italian authorities wave away such questions with the claim that she was “radicalized on the internet”? Will her local mosque be investigated? Or will all the infrastructure stay in place so as to ensure that this happens again, and again, and again?
Terrorism: 17-year-old girl arrested, ‘ready for martyrdom for Allah'

A 17-year-old Italian citizen residing in the province of Pavia has been arrested by officers from the Postal Police and DIGOS on charges of participating in an association with the aim of international terrorism. The Juvenile Court of Milan has ordered a precautionary measure requiring her placement in a residential care facility.
The operation stemmed from careful online monitoring focused on virtual spaces linked to jihadism. The investigation was conducted by a team comprising officers from the Cyber Security Operations Center (Umbria) and DIGOS units from the Perugia and Milan police headquarters, in close collaboration with the Central Directorate for Forensic Science and Cyber Security (Postal and Cyber Security Police Service) and the Central Directorate for Prevention Police (Counter-Terrorism and External Extremism Service).
Investigators had identified a suspicious user on an instant messaging platform who, using a virtual phone number, was particularly active in four private channels accessible only by invitation or administrator approval.
In these virtual spaces—linked to the Islamic State (Daesh)—propaganda, recruitment material, hymns glorifying martyrdom, and even manuals for manufacturing homemade weapons and explosives were disseminated.
Subsequent field investigations allowed the team to link the virtual profile to the 17-year-old girl. During the ensuing home search ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, her electronic devices were seized. Analysis of the phones and computers confirmed the investigators’ suspicions: the young woman had downloaded and saved a large amount of extremist propaganda, including detailed instructions on how to construct an explosive belt.
Furthermore, investigators uncovered conversations with peers—including individuals abroad with suspected ties to ISIS—with whom the girl exchanged videos and other digital material, and in which she had explicitly expressed, on several occasions, her desire for martyrdom in the name of Allah.

He was reportedly enraged that the victims were drinking alcohol. Alcohol is forbidden in Islam, and so non-Muslims must comply. “O you who believe, strong drink and games of chance and idols and divining arrows are only an abomination of Satan’s handiwork. Leave it aside so that you may succeed.” (Qur’an 5:90)
Amazing! So many Muslims assume that wherever they are, it is Islam.

An illegal migrant from Sudan lay in wait for a lone woman before attacking her 30 times with a broken bottle in Leeds.
Ibrahim Albashir, 34, embarked on the violent rampage in April 2024, targeting his 32-year-old victim as she walked home from a dinner out with friends.
On Tuesday, Leeds Crown Court heard how the asylum seeker left Sudan at the age of 25, first breaking into Libya before illegally crossing to Italy.
Albashir then headed to France, where he began smoking cannabis and drinking alcohol.
The 34-year-old stayed in peaceful France for one year – six months of which was spent inside a mental health unit, where he was diagnosed with catatonic schizophrenia.
How many tens of thousands of euros were spent on keeping Ibrahim Albashir in a “mental health unit” in France for six months? The cost for such a stay ranges from €116,000 to €130,000. That’s a lot of money for French taxpayers to pay.
Why didn’t the French, instead of assuming responsibility for his mental health and then letting him loose in the general population, not at once deport him back to the Sudan?
Following his release, he was proscribed with anti-psychotic medication and he made his way to Paris.
Albashir subsequently stopped taking his medication and his asylum claim in France was denied.
Once his asylum claim had been denied, again we must ask why he was not put on a plane at that point and sent back to Sudan. Instead, the French relieved themselves of that burden by turning the other way and letting him cross the Channel into the UK.
Why didn’t the Italian border police stop Ibrahim Albashir as he got off the smuggler’s boat that left Libya to drop him off on the shores of Italy? Why didn’t border guards stop him as he went from Italy into France? Why didn’t the British stop him when he landed in the UK on another smugglers’ boat that took him across the Channel? There were so many times when he might have been stopped, crossing into or already well inside, three countries, and promptly put on a plane back to Sudan. Clearly, all three of the Western countries involved — Italy, France, and the United Kingdom — failed in their duty to police their shores and to take illegal migrants, such as the unusually violent Albashir, immediately into custody and then to arrange for their prompt repatriation. Now he will cost British taxpayers an even larger sum than what he cost the French for his half-year in an insane asylum. But Ibrahim Albashir is not insane. He’s a Muslim having fun.
