Islam in South Asia > Taliban homogenizing Islam in Afghanistan; Pro-Pakistan youth attacks Hindu teen in India; Pakistan feuling global jihad violence; Muslim leader in India blasts Pakistan

First, it will be Afghanistan, and then where?

Afghanistan: Taliban force 50 Ismailis to become Sunnis,

detain those who didn’t attend mosque nightly in Ramadan

“There is no compulsion in religion,” (Qur’an 2:256), and none of those Ismaili Shia who were forced to become Sunni, and none of those who were forced to attend Tarawih prayers during Ramadan, were under any compulsion. They could have chosen to be detained, harassed, beaten or killed instead. No compulsion!

UN report: 50 Ismailis ‘forced’ to convert to Sunni faith by Taliban

by Siyar Sirat, Amu.tv, May 4, 2025:

In its quarterly report, the UN mission in Afghanistan, UNAMA, has found that at least 50 Ismaili men were forced to convert to Sunni Islam by local Taliban authorities in the northeastern province of Badakhshan between January and February.

Those who resisted were beaten or threatened with death, while their children were compelled to attend Sunni madrassas, the report says.

According to the report, inspectors from the Taliban’s Department for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice entered homes at night, interrogating men on religious doctrine. Those who refused to renounce their beliefs were subjected to beatings, threats, and physical intimidation.

Because everybody knows that in Islam beatings, threats, and physical intimidation are virtues and sticking to your beliefs are vices. Islam is completely up-side-down!
Local Taliban authorities also established several madrassas in areas predominantly populated by Ismailis, compelling Ismaili children to attend religious instruction based on Sunni teachings, the report says.

According to the report, these developments mark a significant escalation in what observers have called an intensifying campaign of religious homogenization.

Which is the only way to keep Muslims from killing each other when they run out of non-Muslims to kill.

Crackdown on Ramadan

The report says that from March 1 to March 29, Taliban PVPV (morality) enforcers enforced new mandates tied to Ramadan observance. In multiple provinces—including Farah, Helmand, Zabul, and Samangan—Taliban officials detained or harassed individuals who failed to attend mosque for nightly Tarawih prayers. Businesses that remained open during prayer hours were ordered to close, and clerics were instructed to identify community members who did not attend congregational prayers….

India: Muslim youth attacks Hindu child with a knife,

shouts pro-Pakistan slogans

In Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a disturbing incident occurred in the Powayan area, where a Muslim youth, Moeed Khanviolently attacked a 14-year-old Hindu boy named Surjeet. The attack reportedly took place after Surjeet began discussing India’s “Operation Sindoor”—a counter-terrorism operation against Islamic jihadists—at a local vegetable market.

According to witnesses, the minor was discussing the operation with several people when Moeed Khan overheard the discussion. Allegedly angered by the topic, Moeed began hurling abuses at the boy and others involved in the conversation. The situation escalated quickly as Moeed pulled out a knife and slashed Surjeet’s hand, leaving him seriously injured.

Surjeet was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. It has also been reported that another individual, identified as Vakil, was involved in the assault alongside Moeed. Following the attack, Moeed allegedly shouted “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan), further fueling tensions in the area.

Residents, shocked and angered by the incident, responded swiftly. Bystanders at the scene managed to catch Moeed, and roughed him up before handing him over to the police. Meanwhile, Vakil, the second suspect, fled the scene and is currently on the run.

Members of Hindu organizations soon arrived at the location and held a protest condemning the incident, demanding strict action against the accused. The event has sparked outrage among the local community.

Shahjahanpur police have arrested Moeed Khan, and an official investigation is underway. Authorities have confirmed that legal proceedings are being carried out, and efforts to locate the second accused are ongoing.

This incident has further intensified communal hostility among Islamic jihadists toward non-Muslims, revealing how even their youth are indoctrinated with hatred against India and Hindus. Despite availing the benefits of numerous government welfare schemes, there is a constant demand for more, while vowing their loyalty towards the enemy country. The chanting of “Pakistan Zindabad” reinforces the concern that a significant portion of the population in India harbors sympathies for Pakistan.

Why are they still in India?

Another disturbing incident has been reported from Darbhanga, Bihar, where groups of Muslim men launched targeted attacks on the Hindus after confirming their religious identity. It appears that the recent Islamic terrorist attack on Hindu tourists in Kashmir may have influenced the Islamic groups.

According to local reports, a minor altercation began when two motorcycles, one belonging to Hrithik Yadav and the other to Noor Alam, collided. Following the crash, Alam reportedly fled the scene. Later, both families met and agreed to resolve the issue amicably.

However, tensions flared unexpectedly when a group of Muslim men reportedly gathered on a nearby road and started assaulting passersby, asking about their religious identity. According to eyewitness accounts, only Hindu individuals were targeted and attacked. The assailants allegedly used sticks and sharp weapons to assault the victims.

At least eleven Hindus sustained serious injuries in the attack. The injured have been identified as Rajkishore Yadav, Ramsagar Yadav, Amit Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Ranjit Kumar, Hrithik Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Lakshman Yadav, Sonu Kumar, and Dinesh Manjhi. Among them, Ramsagar Yadav, Hrithik Yadav, and Sumit Kumar were critically injured and have been referred to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment.

Following the attack, police registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on the victims’ complaints. A total of 21 Muslim individuals have been named as accused in the FIR. Those identified include Mohd Irfan Qureshi, Mohd Ibran Qureshi, Mohd Salman, Qurban Qureshi, Mohd Pappu Qureshi, Aman alias Arman Qureshi, Rizwan Darji, Mohd Meraj, Mohd Reyaz, Mohd Siraj, Mohd Aif, Mohd Imtiaz, Mohd Isahaq, Mohd Sarfaraz, Mohd Raju Qureshi, Mohd Azaz Ahmed, Mohd Shahnawaz Ahmed, Mohd Heera, Mohd Manour Darji, and Iqbal Darji.

It is deeply unfortunate that even during these critical times, while the Indian Army is engaged in defending the nation at the border, dangerous elements within the country are targeting civilians, including children. These groups effectively act as an internal support system for Pakistan, waging its battles from within Indian territory. While India’s military remains capable of defending against external threats, confronting the enemy within poses a greater challenge. For a secular government, this internal struggle is further complicated by the influence of pro-Islamic institutions that hinder decisive action.

Pakistan is arguably the most devoutly Muslim country in the world. Afghanistan is sneaking up quickly, and Syria is headed in that direction, along with Bangladesh, though both have a long way to go.

Pakistan’s jihad factory is fueling global jihad violence

We have been warning about Pakistan for over two decades now. Now the world will discover that we were right all along.

The Jihad Factory: How Pakistan’s Rogue Generals Fuel Global Terrorism

by Jayakhosh Chidambaran and Shrenik Rao, Madras Courier, May 7, 2025:

On 6 July 2007, Pakistani police discovered an anti-aircraft gun ominously positioned along the secret flight path of then-President General Pervez Musharraf. His plane had just taken off from the tightly secured Chaklala airbase in Rawalpindi. That such a weapon could be placed along a classified route, despite the intense surveillance and secrecy, underscores the endemic rot within Pakistan’s national security establishment.

It wasn’t the act of a lone actor—it was a symptom of a state devoured by its own clandestine organs. The mystery behind the leaked itinerary remains unresolved, but what it reveals is the true character of Pakistani politics: a theatre of uncertainty, sabotage, and internal treachery among its own intelligence services. Civilian intelligence, military intelligence, and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)—each mistrusts the other, each entrenched in its own fiefdom, each accountable to no one but its own corrupt hierarchy.

OMGosh! It sounds a lot like America, doesn't it?

At the heart of this chaos lies the Pakistani deep state: a malignant nexus of military overlords, rogue bureaucrats, and radical clerics, all operating behind a façade of legality. This clandestine web, kept alive by state patronage, has devoured every democratic impulse in the country.

Add in the media, and it still sounds like America!

What should be institutions of public service have been warped into a machinery of repression, profiteering, and religious indoctrination. Military-owned corporations, privileged elites, and cynical politicians have built an empire out of the blood of ordinary Pakistanis. Democracy is mocked, its charade paraded through rigged elections that merely crown the Army’s chosen vassals.

The constitution mandates that civilian governments answer to the people. In Pakistan, however, power is arrogantly hoarded by the generals in Rawalpindi, who orchestrate the rise and fall of prime ministers like stage managers scripting a farce.

Now it sounds like Canada!

The civilian seat in Islamabad is a decoration, nothing more. Since the era of General Zia-ul-Haq, democracy has been a hostage to the Army’s ambitions. Elections are not contested but choreographed; candidates do not win but are installed, provided they surrender strategic autonomy in domestic affairs, defence, and foreign policy.

Any attempt by a civilian leader to tilt the balance toward democratic accountability is met with swift and ruthless retaliation. Nawaz Sharif learned this lesson twice. His efforts to curtail the ISI’s overreach and empower the civilian Intelligence Bureau invited the wrath of the military elite. What followed was not mere political friction—it was war between two states within a state.

His government was sabotaged, his integrity dismantled through media trials, and his political career was terminated not by public will but by a judicial verdict engineered by military pressure. The Panama Papers investigation became the perfect tool for institutional vengeance. Sharif, convicted and disqualified in 2017, has never ceased to call out the Army’s invisible hand in his ouster—an orchestration echoing the 1999 bloodless coup that first ejected him from power.

His crime? The audacity to seek peace with India. Sharif believed in diplomacy, in building bridges in Kashmir—an unforgivable offence to the Army, whose relevance depends on eternal conflict. The generals thrive in war. Peace, to them, is a threat, not a goal.

Pakistan’s military views insurgency in Kashmir not as a crisis but as a currency—a justification for budget allocations, public reverence, and geopolitical manoeuvring. Thus, terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Muhammad are not outlaws—they are assets. They are the Army’s outsourced foot soldiers, providing a low-cost, high-impact method of waging asymmetric war against India while maintaining plausible deniability.

This policy of weaponised Islamism extends far beyond South Asia. Multiple 9/11 hijackers were radicalised and trained in Pakistan. The infamous Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the operational mastermind behind the September 11 attacks, found both refuge and logistical support in Pakistan, where he was eventually captured in 2003.

For years prior, he had moved freely within the country, protected by the ISI’s duplicity. Training camps in Pakistan’s tribal areas provided sanctuary to al-Qaeda operatives while Islamabad mouthed allegiance to Washington’s war on terror. The result: nearly three thousand lives lost in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania—enabled by a state that pretended to be an ally while acting as an enabler.

The 2005 London bombings that killed fifty-two civilians and wounded hundreds were also seeded in Pakistan’s poisonous madrassa network. The ringleader, Mohammad Sidique Khan, and at least two others of the four suicide bombers visited Pakistan in the year prior, ostensibly for ‘religious study.’

In truth, they underwent indoctrination and training in the very regions long tolerated, if not actively facilitated, by Pakistan’s intelligence services. British intelligence warned Islamabad of the radicalisation pipeline running through Lahore and Karachi, but warnings were deflected, downplayed, or denied. Pakistan became a factory of fanaticism, exporting jihad to every continent.

Islamic State, too, found support networks within Pakistan’s borders. While ISIS flourished in Syria and Iraq, its Khorasan branch—ISIS-K—established cells in Pakistan’s tribal belts, drawing from the same well of disillusioned terrorists trained and hardened under state-sponsored jihadist doctrine.

Reports by Afghan and U.S. intelligence agencies repeatedly cited Pakistani safe havens as key enablers of ISIS-K’s operational reach. The monstrous 2021 Kabul airport bombing, which killed over one hundred and eighty civilians and thirteen U.S. soldiers, was carried out by ISIS-K—a group nurtured in the same soil that had once bred the Taliban.

Nowhere is Pakistan’s proxy terror policy more clearly exposed than in its relentless attempts to destabilise India. In December 2001, five armed men stormed the Indian Parliament in New Delhi, killing nine people and bringing two nuclear powers to the brink of war.

The attack was orchestrated by Jaish-e-Muhammad, operating with ISI backing. The aim was clear: ignite Indo-Pak tensions, sabotage dialogue, and reaffirm the military’s grip on national security. It worked…

India: Muslim leader criticizes Pakistan:

‘They want to murder and spread terror

in the name of jihad’

It would have been helpful if Owaisi had explained the difference between murder and terror on the one hand and jihad on the other, but alas, he did not.

“When your Lord inspired the angels, I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then strike the necks and strike their fingertips.” (Qur’an 8:12)

“We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because they ascribe partners to Allah, for which no justification has been revealed. Their dwelling is the fire, and wretched is the dwelling place of the wrongdoers.” (Qur’an 3:151)

“And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And do not fight with them at the sacred mosque until they first attack you there, but if they attack you, then kill them. This is the reward of unbelievers. But if they stop, then indeed, Allah is forgiving, merciful. And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they stop, then let there be no hostility except against wrong doers.” (Qur’an 2:191-193)

“They wish that you would disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that you may be on the same level. So do not choose friends from them until they migrate in the way of Allah, if they turn back, then take them and kill them wherever you find them, and choose no friend or helper from among them, except those who seek refuge with a people with whom you have a covenant, or come to you because their hearts forbid them to make war on you or make war on their own people. If Allah had willed, he could have given them power over you, so that assuredly they would have fought you. So if they remain aloof from you and do not wage war against you and offer you peace, Allah allows you no way against them. You will find others who want security from you, and security from their own people. As often as they are returned to hostility, they are plunged into it. If they do not keep aloof from you or offer you peace, or hold off their hands, then take them and kill them wherever you find them. Against such people we have given you clear justification. Except those who seek refuge with a people with whom you have a covenant, or come to you because their hearts forbid them to make war on you or make war on their own people. Against such people we have given you clear justification.” (Qur’an 4:89-91)

“The only reward for those who make war upon Allah and his messenger and struggle to sow corruption on earth will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, or be expelled from the land. Such will be their degradation in this world, and in the hereafter, theirs will be an awful doom.” (Qur’an 5:33)

“And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah. But if they stop, then indeed, Allah is the seer of what they do.” (Qur’an 8:39)

“Then, when the sacred months have passed, kill the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and besiege them, and prepare for them every ambush. But if they repent and establish prayer and give alms, then leave their way free. Indeed, Allah is forgiving, merciful.” (Qur’an 9:5)

Owaisi Calls For Sanctions Against Pakistan:

‘They Want To Spread Terror In Name Of Jihad'

Times Now, May 8, 2025:

AIMIM leader and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday tore into Pakistan for spreading terror in the name of ‘jihad’, and sought international sanctions against the nation. Hailing the Indian Armed Forces for ‘Operation Sindoor’, Owaisi said that India must get the UN Security Council to designate The Resistance Front (TRF), the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) offshoot that is said to be behind the Pahalgam terror attack, as a terrorist organisation.

The suggestions by the AIMIM leader were made at an all-party meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who met representatives of political parties to share information about ‘Operation Sindoor’.

“I complimented our armed forces and the government for carrying out Operation Sindoor. I suggested that we run an international campaign against TRF. We must get the UN Security Council to designate it as a terrorist organisation. We must get the US to designate TRF as a foreign terrorist organisation,” he said.

“In February, Hafiz Abdur Rauf delivered a speech in PoK that we want to do jihad this year. They want to murder and spread terror in the name of jihad. Pakistan must be put on the grey list of FATF. We must also get the UK government to ban TRF and sanction Pakistan,” Owaisi told the media after the meeting.

Praising Operation Sindoor, he said the biggest achievement was the attacks on Muridke and Bahawalpur. “These are known terrorist headquarters.” Owaisi also called for compensation for the families of the civilians who were killed during Pakistan’s heavy shelling in Poonch….
