In the mid-1980s, my family and I spent a week or so at San Diego's Campland on the Bay. On the second day, my wife met a young man at the laundromat who was a Viet Nam vet and who was severely messed up. Strung out on drugs, he was haunted by what he saw and experienced in the madness of the Viet Nam war. He also had a father who was a prominent Jew and who had been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Their relationship was strained after his return from the Orient.

We had opportunity to witness to him several times that week and felt we were reaching him, but soon ran out of time and had to leave. Just hours before we left, my wife and I prayed for someone to continue ministering to him and bringing him to Christ. As soon as we finished praying, I stepped outside the trailer and found a man standing at our driveway. I approached him and discovered he was a Pastor of a church in Southern California, here on vacation for a time.

He said he noticed that we had been witnessing to the troubled vet and asked about him. I filled him in on our witnessing and what I knew of the obstacles that made it difficult for him to come to Jesus. The man was determined to continue the witness, and I thanked him for being the answer to our prayer.

I just love it when people listen to the voice of God and obey it. God speaks to us through His Spirit if we are willing to listen. The Holy Spirit is not mute! He speaks to us like anyone else, and though He never contradicts the Bible, He is not restricted to it.

Attempted ramming, stabbing attack in West Bank, terrorist shot

Jerusalem Post, April 27, 2023:

A terrorist attempted to carry out a ramming attack before trying to stab people with a knife at Gitai Avishar junction on Highway 5 near Ariel in the West Bank on Thursday evening, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.

The attacker attempted to ram into people and drove into the opposite lane, but lost control of his car and crashed.

He then got out of the car holding a knife and attempted to stab a police officer, before he was shot by a nearby IDF soldier.

No injuries to Israeli citizens were reported.

The terrorist was identified as 39-year-old Ahmad Taha, a resident of the West Bank town of Biddya who worked for the Palestinian Authority’s security forces, according to Maariv….

A man armed with three knives attacked a 31-year-old passerby in Stains (Seine-Saint-Denis), this Thursday evening, Actu17 has learned. The assailant then headed inside a nearby mosque, where he was disarmed. The police officers of the anti-crime brigade (BAC) arrested him at his home located not far away.

The victim was at a bus stop near La Courneuve Park around 10:30 p.m. when a stranger asked him for a cigarette. The latter was angry at his refusal. He then exhibited a butcher’s sheet and a thirty-centimeter kitchen knife, before attempting to stab the victim in the throat. The attacker yelled “Allah akbar” while threatening to kill him, according to a source close to the investigation.

The 30-year-old managed to dodge the blows, but he was still slightly injured in the neck. His attacker fled and allegedly then tried to assault a woman, who managed to flee. The madman then entered the mosque located on Boulevard Maxime-Gorki. The faithful disarmed him but the man ended up fleeing. The police were alerted and the first victim – who pursued his attacker – now sets off in pursuit. The 30-year-old tells the police where the suspect has taken refuge: a building on the same boulevard.

Mastered with a stun gun

The BAC police enter the building. “The suspect tried to enter another apartment where a shocked father and his children were,” said the same source.

The 46-year-old man was finally found on the 4th floor and then subdued using an electric stun gun in front of his dangerousness. He was intoxicated and was taken into custody.

Before attempted murder in gym: Syrian has killed before

The Syrian national (26) is said to have committed stabbings in a gym in Duisburg’s old town on Tuesday evening last week and, according to the police, seriously injured four men aged 21, 24 and 32 with a blunt and stabbing weapon. The youngest is in mortal danger. After the investigators recently discovered evidence of an Islamist motive, a murder is said to have already been committed (already committed one) at Easter.

The suspect is said to have “inflicted a significant number of stab and cut wounds” on Easter Sunday to a victim, the Düsseldorf public prosecutor said on Thursday. The victim (35) succumbed to his wounds.

“After the evaluation of traces found at the crime scene and on the suspect’s shoes, there is now an urgent suspicion against him because of this act,” continued the Attorney General’s Office.

'Salafist Police’ Targeting Westernized European Muslims

Some call them the Salafist police. Others say they are just ordinary extremists. Either way, they are terrorizing other Muslims in the Netherlands, radicalizing Muslim youth, and working to undermine the secular democratic system – not just in Holland, but in Belgium, France, and elsewhere across Europe.

While America seems to have largely forgotten the threat of radical Islamism, jihadism, according to Dutch intelligence agency AIVD, remains the greatest security threat for Europe. That threat exists not only in the form of terrorist violence, but in the effect of online propaganda, Salafist-run schools, intimidation on social media, and ongoing efforts at polarizing European society as Salafist groups and charismatic activists urge fellow Muslims to reject Western democratic mores.

Now a report by Dutch newspaper Telegraaf has Parliament asking questions: what, some members want to know, can security agencies do to prevent that kind influence and the threats against moderate Muslims (and non-Muslims) by extremists, both in person and online?

The disturbing answer: not much.

At least, not just now.

According to the Telegraaf, Salafist extremists, including younger, second- and third-generation Muslims born and raised in The Netherlands, are loudly condemning everything they consider “too Western” – from listening to music and watching soccer games to wishing others “happy Christmas” or, more shameful still, allowing wives and daughters to appear in public without a veil or hijab. “Whoever they perceive as crossing the line,” the Telegraaf reports, “will soon find himself denounced and condemned online.” Some offer rewards for the addresses of “evildoers.” Children threaten their parents. And still the recruitment continues. “Although the group is relatively small, its members can have a disproportional influence on the Islamic community of the Netherlands,” the AIVD report for 2022 noted.

That influence is not limited to social media and the mosques, or even local communities. For years, the AIVD and its sister organization, the National Coordinator for Terrorism and Violence (NCTV), have cautioned that the growing number of Salafist schools are shaping the minds and ideologies of hundreds, if not thousands, of Dutch Muslim children. And often, parents are at a loss to fight it. “The first generation of Muslims in The Netherlands followed a more moderate interpretation of their faith,” the AIVD wrote in 2021. “Parents from the second- and third generation…are more vulnerable to a strict form of Islam. If a follower has enough theological knowledge and charisma, parents are sometimes unsure how to work against that.”…

Great Britain noticed several years ago that second-generation Muslims were more devout than their parents. Salafism is a fundamentalist arm of Islam and has already been banned from operating mosques and schools in some countries. They should be banned in all sane countries. Islam will always gravitate toward a more fundamental and violent interpretation of Mohammed and the Quran.

Suspicion of machete murder at Vienna's U6:

The victim in the machete murder – an Algerian (31) – was butchered at the U6 station nine days ago – the eXXpress reported. Five or six, according to eyewitness reports even up to ten men, are said to have intercepted the later victim in the station, followed him over the ramp and killed him in front of the entrance. Two perpetrators with machetes are said to have partially severed the Algerian’s hands and feet while he was still alive, as reported by oe24.

Due to the high blood loss, the victim died a little later in a hospital. One of the suspected attackers – also an Algerian (24) – fled when the police arrived and jumped into the Danube Canal. The officers fished him out, the suspect denies everything: “I wasn’t there, I don’t know the victim.”

No public manhunt for killer gang

The police did not give any details about the crime, which not only scared the population in Brigittenau. They refrain from publishing mug shots. While this is always considered appropriate for petty ATM thieves, it does not seem to be the case for a brutal gang presumably from the drug milieu. To this day, the suspects are roaming freely in Vienna unmolested.

Or do other reasons for the secrecy of the police play a role? Don’t you want to say anything because it would lead to an outcry among the population?

The police remain silent about the background

The crime is fatally reminiscent of methods that repeatedly cause serious criticism of outdated legal practice. Most recently, the public cutting off of the right hand and left foot of a thief in Somalia caused an international sensation.

The type of punishment for thieves is recorded in Surah 5:38 in the Koran as a “warning from Allah,” but it is not used in modern Islam. In Islamist circles with a harsh interpretation of the law (Sharia), on the other hand, it is. For repeat offenders, there is the option of chopping off the right hand as well as the option of severing the left foot.

Was a gang member punished at the U6 station for repeatedly betraying and stealing from his accomplices?

The police say nothing about that, either.

Viennese police are playing right into the hands of Muslim gangs and terrorists. Protecting them from the reality of their violence and insanity. In so doing, they leave native Austrians without the knowledge of just how vicious these people can be. The police have Austrian blood on their hands.

French Immigration Expert: Immigration Costs Much More

Than People Realize

Jean-Paul Gourévitch is a French researcher specializing in immigration. His latest study, about recent immigration to France, is deeply pessimistic: he claims that immigration is not a net benefit to the country, but costs the state 25 billion euros annually. And even after years in France, two-thirds of the migrants are unemployed. The rest live, quite comfortably, on the generous benefits the French welfare state provides. More on his findings are in an article that is two years old, but even more relevant now than it was when it was published:

Only one third of migrants to France have found a job.

Employment data shows that it is a myth that immigration to France has economic benefits, French author and academic Jean-Paul Gourévitch said in an interview with Radio Sud.

“I have studied this topic extensively and today everyone in France, from the left to the right agrees that immigration costs more than it brings in,” Gourévitch said. “There is a major difference between left and right (oriented) economists regarding the costs: the leftist economists say the deficit is six to ten billion [euros per year], while those on the right say it is 40 to 44 billion. My own scientific research shows that the deficit is 20 to 25 billion [euros].”

Gourévitch also spoke about the debate in Europe and France whether worsening demographic figures should be improved via immigration or domestic demographic incentives.

The fertility rate of the indigenous French is 1.49, far below the replacement level of 2.1. What is to be done? Some claim the solution is to admit more immigrants, without looking too deeply into whether those immigrants are a net cost to the government, or a net benefit. Others think that a pro-natalist policy could persuade enough French women to have more children, though so far, despite generous family allowances after the second child, and heavily subsidized nurseries and kindergartens, the French fertility rates keep going down. And even if they were to increase, babies born today in France will not make a difference to the funds available for pensioners for at least two decades, when those babies have grown up and entered the work force.

There is an argument that immigration could to some extent offset the birth rates, because there is a major difference between the birth rates of the domestic population and the migrant one,” he said. “The domestic population has a birth rate of 1.49 (children per couple), while the immigrant population has 2.5 to as many as four children. This (birth rate), however, is gradually declining, as the children of immigrants have fewer children than their parents who, in turn, had fewer children than their parents.”

The declining birthrate postpones the Islamicization of France by at least a few years. But it is still likely to happen in the middle to the early second half of this century.

Bringing in migrants to be able to increase our capacity to pay those retired is in fact a coup,” he said. “The migrants — those who work, of course — will contribute towards pensions, but for the rest it is a real burden for the state.”

Gourévitch also said his own studies showed that after five years of migrants arriving, only one third of migrants had jobs. These statistics mirror other countries which show, for example, in Sweden that most migrants will never become self-sufficient. Other countries like Germany have already spent tens of billions on migrants and plans to spend another €64.5 billion over the next four years.

“All the surveys show that 5 years later, only 33% of migrants [in France] have found work,” said Gourévitch.

If only one-third of the migrants – who in France are overwhelmingly Muslims from North Africa – are employed, they will remain a net cost, not a benefit, to the government. Not enough of them will be paying into the government pension fund. And it turns out that two-thirds of these migrants are not finding jobs, whether through lack of skills or a desire to avoid work altogether and instead choosing to survive on the generous welfare benefits made available by the state. While Gourévitch doesn’t say it, it turns out that the Muslim migrants are much less likely to be employed than non-Muslim migrants, so that in their case, it is not two-thirds, but rather three-quarters of Muslim migrants who remain unemployed after five years.

Gourévitch (79), is the author of over 60 studies and books. While at the beginning of his career he focused on education, he later turned his attention to immigration. His latest book, “France in Africa 1520-2020” was published last year.

Gourévitch concludes that these economic migrants are costing the French state some 25 billion euros a year. It’s a colossal sum, but some French economists on the right believe even that is too low; they believe the number is far higher – 44 billion euros annually. How did Gourévitch arrive at this figure? He adds up the cost to the state of the following: free or subsidized housing for several million Muslim migrants; free medical care, which is especially expensive because of the greater incidence of congenital defects among Muslim babies, the result of societal norms that encourage cousin-marriage; free education, which includes extra language classes; family allowances (which increase with the number of children) that were originally intended to encourage French women to have more children, but it is predominantly Muslim families that now benefit, for they have the greatest number of children), and unemployment benefits for the two-thirds of Muslim migrants who remain without jobs. That adds up to the colossal sums — estimated at from 25 to 44 billion euros — that the economists calculate are the true costs of immigration.

And this will get worse as Muslims reach old age and start collecting pensions that their children are not paying into.

But there is another cost that cannot be calculated, but is just as real as the kind that can: the cost of Muslim migrants to the quality of life of the indigenous French. How do we decide the “cost” to our wellbeing of being subject to five prayers, from dawn to dusk, that are electronically amplified? In summer, the earliest prayer can take place as early as 3:20 a.m. When such a prayer keeps people from sleeping, there is a great cost, even though we cannot reduce it to euros. 

Muslims make up about 9% of the French population,

but commit 70% of the rapes

Similarly, what is the cost to society of the fear of crimes overwhelmingly committed by Muslim migrants, whose rates of criminality far outstrip those both of the indigenous French and of other, but non-Muslim, immigrants, including those from eastern Europe and east Asia. If women are now afraid to go out alone of an evening, that is a “cost.” So is the fear of street muggings and robberies by groups of Muslims, the worry about house burglaries when French people go on vacation, the fear of rape (Muslims make up about 9% of the French population, but commit 70% of the rapes) – these all add up. 

The Muslim schoolchildren who are difficult to discipline, and who by their classroom behavior distract teachers from their preeminent task – to educate — are another cost. How do we calculate the cost of Muslim students who disrupt education for everyone by refusing to study certain subjects, such as the French monarchy, the history of Christianity in France, the Crusades, the Enlightenment, and the Holocaust (which should be avoided because it makes students too sympathetic to Jews, and that will never do). 

There is no area of French life that is not affected, for the worse, by the presence of millions of Muslims. That large-scale presence has created a situation that is far more unpleasant, expensive, and physically dangerous, for the indigenous French, than would be the case without that large-scale presence.

The cost to France that can be reduced to euros is very great. The cost to the French quality of life is also very great, though it is impossible to assign a euro value to such things as peace of mind, a sense of security, harmony and discipline in the classrooms.

The French need to create a pro-natalist policy where certain benefits – such as family allowances and subsidies to keep down the costs of nursery schools and kindergartens, as well as after-school activities, are limited to those children who are third-generation French people, which should keep most Muslim migrants from benefiting from a policy intended to encourage larger families not for everyone in France, but only for the French.

The French also need, in their immigration policies, to make the fundamental distinction between Muslim migrants, and all others. The Polish plumber, the Rumanian soccer coach, the Hindu restaurateur, the Chinese dry cleaner, are all working and paying into the pension system. They are not exploiting the French welfare state for every last benefit. After arriving in France, they soon find gainful employment. They are the kind of taxpaying immigrant France needs. And while encouraging these immigrants, the French government at the same time can discourage Muslim immigrants. Ban the electronically amplified Call to Prayer as a public nuisance. The faithful can be reminded of the Call to Prayer by their iPhone; a muezzin’s wail is not necessary. Make it harder to open new mosques, by the artful use of zoning laws, including requiring mosques to provide parking spaces for all of their visitors, based on the numbers of worshippers who arrive for Friday prayers and the khutba, so as to avoid the traffic congestion often caused by visitors to mosques in residential areas. Proscribe the sale of halal meat because the slitting of the throat of an animal that has not first been stunned, and the slow bleeding out of that animal, constitute cruelty to animals. Prohibit the wearing of the veil in all public buildings, including all government offices and universities, because the veil makes a “political statement” and violates the French principle of “laicité.” Refuse to restrict public pools to hours for “women only.” Do not allow Muslim prayer rooms in public schools — again, invoke the need to preserve “laicité” in the public sphere. These are just some of the ways to make France end its “Islam-friendly” status and to transform itself into an “Islam-hostile” polity. This is a simple response to the manifest hostility of Islam toward infidels and infidel polities.

Finally, if large numbers of semi-skilled or even unskilled workers are needed, the French government should reach out to a labor pool it has not begun to tap: the workers of Latin America, who share a faith tradition – Catholicism — with the French. These workers are already fleeing from the impoverished Marxist dictatorships of Venezuela and Cuba, the poverty and gangs of Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico, toward the United States, but the United States is ever less willing to take them. Let them instead be taken in by France, Italy, and other Catholic countries in Europe, where because of that shared religious background they can more easily integrate into the host society, so as to provide the semi-skilled labor force needed for jobs in construction, and other kinds of infrastructure, including massive solar energy projects that will require hundreds of thousands of installers on roofs all over France. If these workers from Latin America are brought to France, there would be no need for any Muslim migrants. And if the Islam-hostile laws I noted earlier are implemented, that will promote a re-migration of many Muslims, now in France, back to their countries of origin. Many billions of euros will be saved every year by the French government, and many heartaches caused by these migrants will trouble the French no longer.

“Good evening, it’s Tucker Carlson!” Tucker Carlson has proclaimed again to America in his first monologue since parting ways with Fox News.

Carlson broadcast his monologue on Wednesday night at his usual 8 p.m. ET time slot—when he would have addressed the nation from Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight”—but this time from his Twitter account.

The conservative current affairs commentator and host revealed his observations after taking a couple of days off since his sudden split from Fox News on April 21.

“One of the first things you realise, after you step outside the noise for a few days, is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country, kind and decent people, people who really care about what’s true. And a bunch of hilarious people also; a lot of those. It’s got to be the majority of the population, even now. So that’s heartening.

“The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are. They’re completely irrelevant … trust me, as someone who’s participated.”

He then went on to say that big topics that will define our future get “virtually no discussion at all”—topics like war, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, and natural resources.

Here, I would like to have heard him speak about the drug culture, the transgender lunacy, and the incredible amount of child sexual abuse and the damage it does.

“When was the last time you heard a legitimate debate about any of those issues?” Carlson asked, saying that both of America’s main political parties and their donors have agreed to “shut down any conversation” about them.

“That’s a depressing realization, but it’s not permanent … It won’t work. When honest people say what’s true—calmly and without embarrassment—they become powerful. At the same time, the liars who have been trying to silence them shrink, and they become weaker. That’s the iron law of the universe—true things prevail.

“Where can you still find Americans saying true things? There aren’t many places left but there are some, and that’s enough. As long as you can hear the words, there is hope. See you soon,” Carlson said.

The video of the now-former prime-time host received more than 5 million views within the first hour.

In recent days, Carlson had done some popular programming, including interviews with Tesla founder Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump. Last month, he also broadcast never-before-seen Jan. 6 footage of Jacob Chansley, also known as the QAnon Shaman, who has since been released from jail.

‘Parting Ways’

Neither Fox News nor Carlson have commented publicly on the separation.

A news release issued by the company on April 24 said the two had “agreed to part ways.”

“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” it said.

Anchor Harris Faulkner commented on her Fox News program that the two parties had come to a “mutual” agreement. She did not elaborate.

During Carlson’s final Fox News broadcast on Friday, April 21, he told viewers he would be back on Monday, April 24, indicating that he hadn’t expected the split and that it was likely initiated by Fox.

The Epoch Times has reached out to Carlson and Fox News for comment.

Popular Voice on Cable

“Tucker Carlson Tonight” was one of cable news’s consistently top-rated programs for years and a leading program among the 25–54 demographic.

Carlson began hosting it in 2016 and often attracted millions of viewers per episode. In March, the program drew the highest audience on cable TV, averaging 3.251 million viewers per show, according to Nielsen data shared by Fox News.

Following the announcement, Fox Corporation took a nearly $1 billion hit—around 3 percent—to its market value on Monday, trading at a low of $29.27, adding to its more than 16 percent decline in the last 12 months.

Fox also suffered a ratings loss on Monday night without Carlson. Host Brian Kilmeade was the first of a rotating slate of hosts who will replace Carlson on Fox’s temporary program “Fox News Tonight,” until a new host is named, the company has said.

A company spokesperson told Reuters that Fox’s Monday show was still ranked top across the board. He said it grew from the last show hosted by Carlson on Friday, pointing to Nielsen data that showed it pulled in about 2.6 million viewers.

MSNBC at 8 p.m. on Monday night saw 1.51 million viewers, while CNN had 728,000 viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Meanwhile, conservative news outlet Newsmax grew the viewership for its 8 p.m. ET time slot, with “Eric Bolling the Balance” picking up 531,000 viewers.

While Kilmeade had more viewers than Carlson on Friday, it was less than Carlson’s average Monday viewership across the last two months, which averaged 3.3 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Carlson demonstrated an average viewership of around 3.2 million viewers in the first quarter of 2023, according to Nielsen Data.

America Responds

Besides the ratings, many analysts are saying they believe Carlson’s exit will have a sizable impact on Fox News.

“It’s a huge deal,” said Matthew Tuttle, the head of Tuttle Capital Management, an investment firm that is betting against Fox Corporation shares, according to Reuters. “The 8 p.m. slot is important and they will lose viewers in that spot.”

Megyn Kelly, who left Fox News for NBC in 2017 over displeasure with the network’s managerial decisions, said on Monday on her conservative-leaning podcast that Fox had made a serious mistake letting Carlson go.

“I don’t know what drove Fox News to make this decision. And it was clearly Fox News’ decision because they’re not letting him say goodbye,” Kelly said. “That’s my supposition. That’s not inside knowledge … talk about misjudging your audience yet again.”

After being cancelled from NBC in 2018, Kelly has since gone on to host her own satellite radio show and podcast.

Kelly said she thinks Carlson might “go independent like I have,” in comments to Newsmax on Monday. “He will no longer answer to a corporate master. He will be free to say whatever he wants to say, within the bounds of defamation law, of course, and he’ll be totally unleashed.”

Journalist Glenn Greenwald credited Carlson with holding several views that conservatives are divided over. Greenwald, who had appeared regularly on Carlson’s show, wrote on Twitter that Carlson “was the cable host who most: Opposed US proxy war in Ukraine; Denounced CIA, FBI and DHS for its systemic lies and corruption; Devoted himself to a pardon for Julian Assange; Objected to regime change efforts in Cuba; Criticized Trump Admin’s militarism.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democrat running for the party’s 2024 presidential nomination, linked Carlson’s departure to his coverage of information that was unfavourable to COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Kennedy has been a prominent critic of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

“Fox fires @TuckerCarlson five days after he crosses the red line by acknowledging that the TV networks pushed a deadly and ineffective vaccine to please their Pharma advertisers,” Kennedy wrote on Twitter. “Carlson’s breathtakingly courageous April 19 monologue broke TV’s two biggest rules: Tucker told the truth about how greedy Pharma advertisers controlled TV news content and he lambasted obsequious newscasters for promoting jabs they knew to be lethal and worthless.”

Meanwhile, Carlson has received offers from conservative news networks like Newsmax, OANN, and The Blaze.

Glenn Beck, founder of The Blaze and another former Fox News host, said on his Monday show that Carlson could easily join his network.

“We would love to have you here, you won’t miss a beat, and together, two of us will tear it up—just tear it up,” Beck said.

OANN founder and CEO Rob Herring has also invited Carlson to begin discussing terms for joining his cable network.

Elon Musk has also said he wants to turn Twitter into a platform where Carlson and other independent content creators could prosper.

On the other side of the political spectrum, left-leaning voices have been celebrating Carlson’s departure.

Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) claimed Carlson’s Fox News program “was a sewer of countless lies and hate,” and that Carlson is “one of the leading election deniers and opponents of democracy in America.” Pascrell said it’s “a good thing” that Carlson will no longer have his Fox News platform.

Some Republicans also criticised Carlson for his opinions.

“After all Tucker’s lies and defamation, it’s about time,” former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) wrote on Twitter in response to the announcement.

Carlson was a host for both CNN and MSNBC earlier in his career, before signing on as a Fox News contributer in 2009. He landed a co-hosting position in 2013, replacing Dave Briggs on “Fox & Friends Weekend.” In 2017, be quickly became Fox’s most popular personality after replacing Bill O’Reilly in the network’s prime-time lineup.

Carlson lives in Florida with his wife. The Daily Mail found him driving a golf cart with his wife outside of his Boca Grande house on Tuesday, telling the outlet that, “Retirement is going great so far.”

“I haven’t eaten dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years,” he said. He then joked when asked about his future plans, “Appetizers plus entree,” and drove off.

In the wake of his surprise exit from Fox, a speech that Carlson gave the night before the separation for the 50th anniversary celebration of conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, went viral.

The speech provided a good outline of Carlson’s view of the current state of society, in which he described widespread moral decay and issued warnings about the future of Western civilization if things don’t turn around.

“I have concluded it might be worth taking just 10 minutes out of your busy schedule to say a prayer for the future, and I hope you will,” Carlson said in the keynote speech.

“You look around and you see so many people break under the strain, under the downward pressure of whatever this is that we are going through,” he said.

“And you realize that the herd instinct is maybe the strongest instinct. I mean, it may be stronger than the hunger and sex instincts, actually. The instinct, which again, is inherent to be like everybody else and not to be cast out of the group, not to be shunned.”

“But you look around and you see these people and some of them really have paid a heavy price for telling the truth and they are cast out of their groups, whatever those groups are, but they do it,” he said later in his speech. “Anyway, I look on at those people with the deepest possible admiration.

“I’m paid to do that. I face no penalty,” he said. “Someone came up to me, ‘You’re so brave.’ Really? I’m a talk show host. It’s like I can’t have any opinion I want. That’s my job. That’s why they pay me.

“It’s not brave to tell the truth on a cable news show and if you’re not doing that you’re really an idiot, you’re really craven. You’re lying on television? Why would you do that? You’re literally making a living to say what you think and you can’t even do that, please.”

Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who has flooded the docket in recent months with resolutions designed to get U.S. troops out of overseas missions he believes have not been approved by Congress, is now demanding that President Joe Biden tell the American people just how many American military personnel are operating in Ukraine today.

His new Privileged Resolution of Inquiry, which forces Biden to notify the House of the exact number of U.S. military inside Ukraine and to hand over “copies of any and all documents outlining plans for military assistance to Ukraine,” comes a week after leaked Pentagon documents showing previously unreported U.S. Special Forces inside the war zone.

According to the document there were 97 special forces from NATO countries operating in Ukraine as of March, including 14 U.S. special forces. When asked by the Guardian newspaper for confirmation/clarification, the Department of Defense said,  “We are not going to discuss or confirm classified information due to the potential impact on national security as well as the safety and security of our personnel and those of our allies and our partners.” The Pentagon has not denied the authenticity of the documents, however.

While “14 special forces” sounds like a drop in the bucket, these revelations are a drip-drip of other pieces of information over the last year that, when added up, leave more questions than answers, and the bottom line is that the American people have a right to know, says (Ret.) Lt. Col. Daniel Davis.

“It is entirely appropriate that the American people know, authoritatively, whether any U.S. troops are engaged in military operations within Ukraine — and to demand a change if we don’t like the answer,” Davis told me yesterday when I asked him about the Gaetz resolution.

“American history is rife with too many examples of presidents secretly employing U.S. troops without the consent or knowledge of our people. It almost always goes sideways when presidents go covert with our troops.”

We know from reporting last year, beginning in June 2022, that the CIA had a strong presence in Ukraine, engaging a network of commandos and spies among European partners set up to provide critical weapons and military intelligence to Ukraine. According to the New York Times, “even as the Biden administration has declared it will not deploy American troops to Ukraine, some C.I.A. personnel have continued to operate in the country secretly, mostly in the capital, Kyiv, directing much of the massive amounts of intelligence the United States is sharing with Ukrainian forces.”

Ken Klippenstein and Jim Risen reported in October 2022 that “there is a much larger presence of both CIA and U.S. special operations personnel and resources in Ukraine” than publicly known. They reported for the Intercept that several former and current intelligence officers told them that the covert operations were being conducted “under a presidential covert action finding,” for which only a handful of Congressional lawmakers have been notified.

In November, the administration announced it was sending a team of military “weapons inspectors” into Ukraine to keep track of weapons shipments, but that they would be away from the fighting. Also that month, the DoD confirmed that it would be setting up a new joint forces command called the Security Assistance Group Ukraine, or SAGU, based out of U.S. Army Europe and Africa headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany and led by a 3-star general to “handle weapons shipments and personnel training.”

In February of this year, the Washington Post reported that the Pentagon wanted to revive pre-Ukraine war orders that would allow them to insert commandos in the form of “control teams” to direct Ukrainian operatives to counter Russian disinformation and monitor troops movements on the ground. This would require the U.S. personnel to be in Ukraine or in a neighboring country. Washington had been operating such teams in Ukraine under Section 1202 of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act until the invasion last year.

Nick Turse, who has written extensively about U.S. covert operations in other parts of the globe, said the recent leak showing special ops forces in Ukraine “is hardly a surprise. ” 

“U.S. Special Operations forces deploy throughout the world, often with next to no transparency or real oversight,” he said when asked about the Gaetz resolution. “Under little-known authorities, special operators conduct shadowy missions — sometimes indistinguishable from combat — unbeknownst to the American people and most members of Congress.”

What we don’t know much about is how many trainers and intelligence personnel might be working under contract for the U.S. government on the ground in Ukraine. There have been hints that they are there. Of course, some American experts, like Alexander Vindman, who are frustrated that the U.S. military is not more directly involved, have been calling on Biden to send contractors into the fight from the beginning.

Others have said “operational contractors” should be inserted into Ukraine, not to fight, but to help the Ukrainians train and operate the sophisticated weaponry Washington is sending over there. Are they there now? It is hard to tell. We know there are plenty of private military contractors in Ukraine today from all over the West working in extraction, training, and humanitarian aid, but they are, as far as we know, freelancing, not on the U.S. dole. 

The use of contractors, whether they be Americans or third party, has been widespread since the U.S. launched a Global War on Terror after 9/11. According to the Congressional Research Service, as of the end of 2022, there were approximately 22,000 contractor personnel working for the DoD throughout the US Central Command’s area of responsibility.

“It is highly probable that contractors are a significant part of the U.S. personnel presence in Ukraine,” speculated Ted Carpenter, who wrote about the topic recently for RS.

 “My expectation is that they would be used for the operation and maintenance of the more advanced (and twitchy?) weapons systems that NATO has given to Kyiv,” he shared on Monday.  “Another interesting question is how many DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) and Pentagon personnel, as well as contractors, might be helping Ukraine with targeting information for attacks on Russian forces. Some of the operations have seemed far too sophisticated for the known capabilities that Ukraine possessed when the invasion began.”

RS has put in a request to the DoD press office to ask just how many contractors might be in Ukraine today. In the meantime, Gaetz said in a statement he will press on with his own quest for a clear number of U.S. troops there. “There must be total transparency from this administration to the American people when they are gambling war with a nuclear adversary by having special forces operating in Ukraine.”

Duisburg attack: evidence of a terrorist attack

Duisburg (dpa) – After the bloody knife attack in a Duisburg gym, the investigators suspect that it could have been a terrorist attack. There are indications of an Islamist motivation for the arrested Syrian, said spokesman for the Düsseldorf public prosecutor’s office. This was the result of the evaluation of his mobile phone.

The authority therefore took over the investigation from the Duisburg public prosecutor’s office. RTL West had previously reported on the Islamist finds on the mobile phone. On Tuesday a week ago, the security authorities had raised the alarm.

The crime scene was just one street away from Duisburg City Hall. Special forces with submachine guns had cordoned off the gym. The perpetrator was on the run at the time. It was initially unclear whether there were other perpetrators.

After days of searching, the 26-year-old Syrian was arrested by special units in his apartment not far from the scene of the crime on Sunday night. Two of his acquaintances, aged 26 and 33, had previously given the authorities a tip. Two knives were also secured in the apartment, which are now being examined for DNA traces of the victims as possible murder weapons. According to prosecutors, one of the knives has a 20 centimeter blade.

 

He kept the knives? You have to wonder what kind of danger his friends are in. Some Islamists will see this as a traitorous act.

A victim is still in mortal danger

Four people aged 21 to 32 were seriously injured in the attack a week ago. According to the police, the 21-year-old is still in mortal danger.

The Duisburg public prosecutor initially announced that none of the victims interviewed knew the alleged perpetrator. This had shaken the investigators’ previous hypothesis, according to which the crime was aimed at one of the victims. Because apparently all four of the injured were accidental victims, they thought an amok attack was conceivable. The finds on the cell phone then quickly required a further re-evaluation of the case.

Arrest warrant for murder

The suspected 26-year-old has so far remained silent on the allegations. A judge had issued an arrest warrant for him for attempted murder. He is now in custody and is now to be examined psychiatrically.

And being a devout Muslim, he will undoubtedly be found to be mentally ill.

A murder commission called “Schwan” had searched for the alleged perpetrator with photos from surveillance cameras. The crime scene is on Schwanenstrasse. His acquaintances said they “100 percent recognized” the 26-year-old, his clothes and his backpack in the pictures.

The images released by the police were from a restaurant, a clothing store and a tram stop near the scene of the crime. According to the authorities, the Syrian applied for asylum in Germany in April 2016. In 2018 he is said to have been noticed in two cases of minor property crimes. Both procedures had been discontinued.

Taking it stupidly easy on Muslim criminals merely convinces them that they can do anything and that European police and courts won't touch them. That is unfortunately pretty close to the truth.

Women Beaten In Vesoul:

‘A Terrorist Act Based Upon Radicalization'

On Wednesday, March 22, the attack of two women by an individual in the Pierres Vives district aroused emotion in Vesoul and far beyond. Nicolas, one of the sons of one of the victims, Colombe Grillot, testifies alongside Jean-Marc Florand. The family lawyer provides information on this probably premeditated attack.

Since Wednesday March 22, the Grillot family, known for its empathy and its involvement in several associations, has been plunged between horror, doubt and hope. “We learned from our parents to remain optimistic,” notes one of the three sons, Nicolas, holding back his anger. “My dad always repeats that ‘life is beautiful,’ so we cling to these values that they taught us. We are a united and supportive family. We are together around our mom.”

Colombe Grillot, 72 years old in September, was the victim, on Wednesday, March 22, of an attack of rare violence by an individual, in a peaceful street in the Pierres Vives district (our previous edition). A 50-year-old woman was also beaten and left for dead before the attacker violently attacked the septuagenarian. “He crushed our mum by breaking her ribs, pelvis, jaw, all the bones of her face with his fists and kicks. She is disfigured and he left her for dead under the eyes of his (her) granddaughter, my 13-year-old niece,” recounts Nicolas Grillot, who has difficulty relating this episode, in a broken voice. “He wanted to kill her and we would like to understand his motivations, even if we already have an idea.”

After this attack, the public prosecutor commented in a press release in the evening. “At 9:45 a.m. a minibus with two children stopped when a man opened the driver’s door, forced the 50-year-old female driver to get out and beat her with his bare hands. The 34-year-old then attacked a 71-year-old woman who had just entered a house. He also gave her numerous blows before this woman’s granddaughter, who was present at the time of the attack, alerted the police.”

The individual was arrested shortly after at the Vesoul mosque. He was then placed in police custody, then transferred to the psychiatric hospital of Saint-Rémy.

According to our sources, the 30-year-old, born in Vesoul, was not on file S, “state security,” but was known to the police and justice services. According to the prosecution, which qualified the act as “attempted murder,” he displayed “personality disorders and has already received psychiatric treatment in the past.”

Of course, he has psychiatric disorders, he's a devout Muslim.

There are other disturbing elements, charges Jean-Marc Florand, in charge of defending the interests of the family. For him, the charges brought are not appropriate. He explains: “We must wonder about the criminal qualification of the facts which is provisional. The prosecutor declared an attempted murder.” The criminal lawyer agrees: “If the legal elements are confirmed, it would rather be an assassination attempt. It will be necessary to consider retaining a terrorist qualification against a background of radicalization of the perpetrator.”

According to various witnesses, the individual was indeed seen at the scene of the tragedy, a few days before the incident. “He was seen in the vicinity, which goes in the direction of premeditation, therefore of the qualification of attempted assassination. On the other hand, still according to our sources, his behavior questions as to his possible radicalization and his motivations. ”

The Vesulian lawyer continues: “Among the clues, the two victims are exclusively adult women. He did not attack the three children present on the spot (Editor’s note: two children were in the minibus and the granddaughter of the septuagenarian). He was dressed in a traditional outfit with religious connotations and more disturbing, the facts occurred the day before the opening of Ramadan. That raises questions!

Other testimonies are overwhelming. The man was reportedly seen wiping the blood from his shoes and hands following this episode, before resuming his journey on foot towards the mosque. Another person present, testifies to having discovered him, at the end of his outburst of violence, removing his disposable type gloves to abandon them in a trash can (our photo). In a press release, the deputy Antoine Villedieu also mentioned that the attacker refused to address the female nursing staff during his care at the hospital. “Justice and investigators will have to shed light on a possible radicalization. As a reminder, March 22 is also the anniversary of the day of the death of Mohammed Merah.” The terrorist was indeed killed by the police on March 22, 2012, after having murdered seven people, including three children.

The question running through the minds of members of the Grillot family often comes up: “Will he be found incompetent to stand trial and will he be released in a year or two?” Nicolas Grillot refuses to consider this possibility. “We don’t want that so that he doesn’t repeat these facts. We want to put him out of harm’s way!” According to Me Florand, the individual will be the subject of in-depth psychological and psychiatric examinations. “They will be entrusted to legal expert doctors who will have to decide on a possible alteration of his mental faculties or an abolition of his discernment. In the event of alteration, a trial will nevertheless take place before the Assize Court of Haute- Saône, which would not be the case if there were to be a total abolition of his discernment. He observes: “The behavior of this person before, during and after the facts, does not militate in favor of the abolition of his discernment.”

Resuming contact for a patient plunged into a coma means, in medical jargon, “again showing signs of life.” The victim can move a hand, a finger to answer simple questions. This is the case of Colombe Grillot who, on Monday, reacted when her daughter and one of her sons held her hand. “My mum gave signs of contact by moving her fingers and opening one eye,” informs Nicolas. “She underwent major facial surgery yesterday.” A former math teacher, the retiree gave a lot of her free time, taking care of her village church, catechism, preparing for religious ceremonies. She also survived breast cancer thirteen years ago. “She was a fighter who had won against the disease. We know in the family what to fight means. We would like to thank the Vesulian police, the firefighters and the nursing staff, as well as the emergency services of Vesoul hospital and Besançon intensive care unit.”

Did he choose her because of her Christian affiliation?

The second victim is still hospitalized in Vesoul hospital. Her life is not in danger.

As we close our subject, we learn that the author of this double aggression, tried to end his life from his place of internment. The attempt was aborted thanks to the intervention of the nursing staff.

French court jails four for plotting Champs Elysées terror attack

A French court has sentenced four men to between five and 15 years in jail for plotting an attack on Paris’s emblematic Champs Elysées avenue. A fifth defendant walked free, having already served his sentence in pre-trial custody.

The five defendants were aged 17 to 39 when they were arrested in 2019 on suspicion of planning to attack policemen and civilians on the central Paris shopping street, not far from the presidential palace.

All except one were found guilty of “terrorist conspiracy” on Thursday after a trial which was held behind closed doors.

The oldest member of the group was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while a second was jailed for 12 years.

A third, who was a minor at the time of his arrest but is considered by investigators to have been the leader of the conspiracy, was also given a 12-year jail term.

He was arrested in Germany in 2017 when he was just 15 for trying to join the Islamic State jihadist group in the terrorist organisation’s Syrian heartland.

Investigators said he had planned to attack a police patrol on the Champs Elysées and “commit a massacre”.

A fourth accused, a Chechen national who was also a minor at the time of the conspiracy, was handed a five-year term for failing to inform the police about the plan….

The small boat migrant who smuggled himself into Britain and

claimed to be 17 – but he was really an ex-Isis fighter aged 42

A former Isis fighter smuggled himself into Britain on a small boat across the Channel, posing as a 17-year-old – despite being aged 42, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The man is thought to be the oldest person to pretend to be an unaccompanied minor and is understood to have spent up to a week in a local authority residential facility with other under-18s before his lies were exposed.

The Iraqi, named only as ‘AJ’, is a security threat because of his previous active service with the terror group in his own country.

He is staying in a three-star hotel along with other adult migrants as he appeals a decision – at taxpayers’ expense – to have him deported.

Yesterday, a Home Office spokesman described his case as one of the most ‘egregious examples’ of why this country must stop asylum-seekers crossing from France.

The revelation comes as Rishi Sunak granted a concession to 60 Tory rebel MPs by amending the Illegal Migration Bill – seen as vital to his ‘stop the boats’ pledge – to include compulsory age checks for those claiming they are children.

The MoS can reveal that ‘AJ’ arrived in late 2021, crossing the Channel in a small boat and using fake ID he bought online.

Despite his thick beard, receding hair and ‘numerous’ tattoos on his arms and neck, he applied for asylum as an Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Child and was put in local authority care in London.

But after suspicious officials checked his fingerprints against a Europe-wide database of asylum-seekers, his true identity was exposed and he was apprehended.

The MoS has learned that he was first encountered by US and UK security forces in Iraq in 2006 and recorded as a terrorist.

He is now on conditional bail and is fighting his deportation in a Legal Aid-funded case, claiming he is suffering from depression which can only be treated by the NHS and that deporting him to Iraq would breach his human rights…..

UK to introduce age checks after 42-y/o bearded Islamic State jihadist enters as a child

Despite a “thick beard, receding hair and ‘numerous’ tattoos on his arms and neck,” a 42-year-old Islamic State jihadist “applied for asylum as an Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Child” and was “put in local authority care in London.” Migrants lying about their age to improve their chances of receiving asylum is a regular, tolerated practice, despite the obvious security risks.

In Sweden, a dental hygienist who proved that child “refugees” were actually adults got fired. Not long before that, a cooperation agreement between Sweden and Morocco to share their fingerprint databases revealed that 90% of Muslim of migrants from Morocco were lying about their age. It was also discovered in Austria that 40% of Muslim migrants lied about their age, and many were involved in high-profile crimes.

In France, Paris police also discovered that among 229 “minor” Muslim migrants, 216 were actually adults. In a most ridiculous case in the UK (before this latest one), a balding Muslim migrant who was described as “looking about 40” but claimed to be 15 got to stay in school. Parents were not duly notified by the school, either. So now that a 42-year-old bearded Islamic State fighter decided to make a mockery out of the UK and pose as a child migrant, authorities have finally decided to introduce age checks for those who claim to be child migrants. Such checks should have been implemented long ago in the UK and elsewhere.  The Iraqi jihadi was also placed in a child migrant facility. One can expect anything from those who support open-door immigration policies.
