Half The French Army Is Now Deployed On French Streets

Since the Islamist terror attacks in Paris last November, the streets of major French cities have been guarded by soldiers in full military fatigues. That permanent presence of the French army represents half of all its soldiers now deployed on military operations, but has been dismissed by critics as a political “anti-anxiety” measure.

No-no! It's to protect France from the Religion of Peace! We certainly wouldn't want peace breaking out.

This is the new 'normal' for France, especially Paris. How do you like it so far?

Following the killing of 132 people in coordinated Islamist terrorist attacks in Paris and its northern suburb, Saint-Denis, last November, President François Hollande, declared the attacks on France an “act of war”. In response the French army was sent to the streets of main cities to offer people a sense of security, beefing up operations already begun following the Charlie Hebdo office and Hypercacher supermarket attacks earlier in 2015.

Representing France’s first wide-scale peacetime military operation on the mainland, Operation Sentinelle deploys fully-armed and uniformed combat troops to patrol public areas and protect key sites such as synagogues, art galleries, nursery schools, Métro stations and mosques.

With 10,000 troops across the nation, about 6,500 of which are in the Paris area, the Guardian reports that scale of Operation Sentinelle is so huge it represents the single biggest military operation in volume of any such French operation anywhere in the world.

Representing a fundamental change to how France polices itself and how the army is used, of all the French soldiers now on active military operations, half of them are deployed patrolling streets at home protecting them from further Islamist terror attacks.

The deployment is not uncontroversial, with critics on both the left and right of French politics taking shots at the operation which is said to cost €1 million a day.

One former prime minister, centre-right Senator Jean-Pierre Raffarin, warned that the soldiers’ elite training and skills are not fully used, other critics say they lose valuable training time. Pay and living conditions have also been criticised, although both have since been addressed to some extent.

Even some military voices have privately expressed scepticism regarding how effectively the soldiers actually prevent terrorists from attacking. One general compared it to the Second World War’s notorious Maginot Line — the line of concrete fortifications, obstacles and weapon installations installed on the French side of its borders with Switzerland, Germany and Luxembourg during the 1930s, which the Germans avoided by invading via the Low Countries to the north of it.

That general highlighted how the presence of soldiers guarding key sites following the attacks of January 2015 did not stop the November attacks on bars, restaurants and the Bataclan concert hall, which were not on the special protection list. Perhaps in response to such criticism, the operation has recently been adapted to make patrols less static, moving soldiers in a “less predictable” way to cover wider areas.

Former director of France’s War college General Vincent Desportes — now a professor at Sciences Po — has warned that the army was overdeployed even before Operation Sentinelle was put in place. He believes that not only is the operation’s chief role a political “anti-anxiety” measure, but that it actively weakens the army as the high demands it faces mean “soldiers are not having rest time and are losing the collective training and savoir-faire”.

On the other hand, the spokesman for Operation Sentinelle in the Paris region, Colonel Benoît Brulon, said it offers more than just a psychological boost, explaining:

“It’s an operation like all the anti-terrorism measures, a combat measure. We’re engaged in a conflict, a war, in which we fight against terrorists. We’re not just here to be visible – even if that visibility helps the resilience of the nation.”

If you are a liberal, you probably don't like Geert Wilders or anything he says. But, I would ask you to point out to me any errors in his speech, anything he has exaggerated or gotten wrong. It would be very foolish to ignore what he has to say.

Dear Friends,
Thank you very much for  inviting me.  I come to America with a mission.  All  is not well in the old world.  There is a tremendous danger  looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic.  
   
We might be in  the final stages of the Islamization of Europe.  This not  only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe  itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the  West.  The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.

First I will describe  the situation on the ground in Europe. Then, I will say a few  things about Islam.  To close I will tell you about a  meeting in Jerusalem. The Europe you know is  changing.

You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.

All throughout Europe a new reality is  rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It's the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot  read.  You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity.  These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics.  These are Muslim neighborhoods, and they are  mushrooming in every city across Europe. These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger  portions of Europe, street by street, neighborhood by  neighborhood, city by city.

There are now thousands of  mosques throughout Europe with larger congregations than there  are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region.  Clearly, the signal is: we rule.

Many European cities are  already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam, Marseilles and  Malmo in Sweden. In many cities the majority of the under-18  population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of  Muslim neighborhoods.  Mohammad is the most popular name among boys in many cities.

In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims.

Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils. In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims. Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'whore, whore'. Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin.

In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and  Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin. The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity.

Muslims had nothing to do with the holocaust, it is just their hatred of Jews, and the idea of showing Jews in a sympathetic light counters the hatred they teach. We are fools if we don't teach the Holocaust to Muslim children, even worse than fools, we're enabling evil to grow in our midst.

In England sharia courts are now officially  part of the British legal system. Many neighborhoods in France  are no-go areas for women without head scarves. Last week a man  almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels, because he was drinking during the Ramadan.

Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave  of anti-Semitism since World War II.  French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya, Israel.  I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization.

A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe. San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhardt Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.

Now these are just numbers.  And the numbers would not be threatening if  the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few signs of that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France. One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks.  The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favor of a worldwide caliphate.  Muslims demand what they call 'respect'.  And this is how we give them respect.  We have Muslim official state  holidays.

We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey.

Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots. Paris has seen its uprising in the low-income suburbs, the banlieus.  I call the perpetrators settler's. Because that is what they are.  They do not come to integrate into our societies; they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam.  Therefore, they are settlers.

Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against non-Muslims, forcing many native  people to leave their neighborhoods, their cities, their countries.  Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be ignored.


Mohammed - Prophet, Murderer, Pedophile, Bigamist, Role Model

The second thing you need to know is the  importance of Mohammed the prophet. His behavior is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized.  Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Gandhi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem. But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and had several  marriages - at the same time. Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammad himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza.  If it is good for Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad.

Let no one  fool you about Islam being a religion.  Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life.  Islam means 'submission'.   Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is Sharia.  If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these  are all totalitarian ideologies.

Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran. The public has wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the aggressor.  I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times. I support Israel.  First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz.  Second because it is a democracy.  And third because Israel is our first line of defense.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam's territorial advance.  Israel is facing the front lines of jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines, Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan, Lebanon, and  Aceh in Indonesia.  Israel is simply in the way.  The  same way West-Berlin was during the Cold War.

The war  against Israel is not a war against Israel.  It is a war against the West.  It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us.  If there  would have been no Israel, Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest.  Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming.

I don't agree with him, myself, on this issue. The war in Israel is not a proxy war against the west, it is sheer hatred of Israel that started way back when Abraham kicked Ishmael out of his tribe because he was an illegitimate son and a threat to Isaac, the legitimate son. The deep-seated hatred of Ishmael toward Isaac survives in Arabs and is only aggravated by God's favour on the Jews since May 1948 when a tiny country not 24 hours old survived an all-out assault by 3 huge, Muslim neighbours. The several attempts since to annihilate Israel have failed just as spectacularly. Yet, hatred has blinded their eyes so they don't realize they are fighting against God.

Many in Europe argue in favor of abandoning Israel in order to address the grievances of our Muslim minorities.  But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down, it would not bring any solace to the West.  It would not mean our Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behavior, and accept our values.  On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the forces of Islam.  They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed.

The end of Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning. It would mean the start of the final battle for world domination. If they can get Israel, they can get everything.  So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islam as a 'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'.  In my country, the Netherlands, 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II.  And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat.

Yet there is a greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine.  An Islamic Europe means a Europe without  freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America - as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs.  With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to  preserve the heritage of Rome, Athens and Jerusalem.

Dr Peter Hammonds research revealed in his book Slavery, Terrorism and Islam, documents the general tendencies of growing Muslim populations in European countries. He writes:

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections.

After reaching 20% (Muslim population), nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues.

These may lean to the conservative since we are seeing these things happen in France and Belgium already. 24% of the population of Brussels is Muslim, many of whom danced in the streets after the attack that killed 32 and injured many more just one month ago. 

In Paris, the Muslim population on the Ile-de-France is closing in on 15%. It is probably higher in some sectors.

What will Europe be like in 12 years when it is 25% Muslim? It won't be fit to live in. And that's in my life-time. What of your daughters and granddaughters just being born? Will they learn to love being invisible under the veil?

Switzerland Halts Citizenship Process for Muslim Students' Family

Switzerland has suspended the citizenship process for the family of two teenage Muslim brothers after the boys' refusal to shake hands with their female teachers sparked a national debate over religious freedoms.

The brothers, aged 14 and 15, had informed education officials in the northern municipality of Therwil that physical contact with women who are not family members violated their faith.

They were then exempted from a Swiss custom of pupils shaking teachers' hands, with Therwil officials instructing them to avoid contact with male teachers as well to avoid gender discrimination.

But the compromise sparked a heated response from leading Swiss politicians including Justice Minister Simonetta Sommaruga who insisted that "shaking hands is part of (Swiss) culture".

Good for you, Minister Sommaruga, don't back down. Maybe some of the judges in your ministry will get a wake-up call. You're my hero today; God bless you. Hope you will be again tomorrow.

On Tuesday, authorities in the canton of Basel-Country where Therwil is located, said that naturalisation proceedings for the family had been put on hold.

Basel-Country spokesman Adrian Baumgartner, in an email, confirmed a report from the ATS news agency on the suspension.

The report also noted that such suspensions are common in citizenship procedures as authorities often require supplemental information about the families concerned.

Amid the media storm that surrounded the handshake exemption, Basel-Country requested an expert legal opinion, which Therwil pledged to follow.

Basel's migration office was seeking more information about the circumstances under which the father's asylum request was approved.

Previous similar disputes have centred on Muslim parents who demanded that their daughters be exempt from swimming lessons.

Muslim families have however secured victories in court against schools which sought to ban the full face veil.

Yeah, 'cause that is definitely part of Swiss culture. What stops a boy from donning a hijab and entering the girls washroom? Or even a fully grown man?

7000 Morality Police To Create Fear and Distrust in Iran

Outraged Iranians have taken to social media to condemn the decision to deploy 7,000 undercover police officers in Tehran to monitor the observance of the Islamic dress code.

Tehran's police chief announced on Monday that the role of the new unit is to:

Report women for the improper wearing of the hijab (and to ensure a woman's veil covers her in public as required)
Report anyone who harasses women
Report anyone who plays loud music in their cars and violates traffic rules

The morality police have been around for decades but the size of the new unit has taken many by surprise. The unit also includes female officers.

"Even KGB did not have 7,000 spies across the world" tweeted @big_loti (6,206 followers).

I would be surprised if there weren't that many KGB spies in Moscow alone.

The 7,000 officers will look out for violations of the above offences and text details of the incidents to the morality police to follow up. The subsequent warning could be verbal - or lead to arrests and fines.

'Waste of resources'

Social media users have scoffed at this "tragic waste of human resources" and what they consider to be ill-placed priorities.

Many posts mention that enforcement resources should be spent on more pressing issues like fighting persistent corruption and bribery.

Some women fear that it could even backfire and lead to further pestering from strangers. In the past, vigilantes linked to the paramilitary forces of Basij, have sometimes carried out street patrols to enforce hijab and prevent "un-Islamic" behaviour.

Twitter user @mahbu000be (7,268 followers) said: This "means that anyone will be able to claim to be member of the morality police from tomorrow to start disturbing women and children" on the streets.

It's "meant to frighten people" said Facebook user "Mitra Mirzaee". They want to create the feeling that people "are constantly being watched" and they also want to "increase distrust among people" and to occupy them with "some worthless things in order to prevent them from focusing on the major existing problems".

Why fear women so much I wonder, said Facebook user "Judith Sugden-Smith". The 7,000 "could be employed in constructive, productive jobs beneficial to society."

Let's see, 7000 people at about $20 per day - that's $140,000 per day. That's about $50 million dollars per year - to make sure women are as invisible as they can be. Islamism, like sin, is progressive!

"We wish they hired 700 people (10% of the 7,000) to fight against the widespread problems of corruption, bribery and smuggling said a post on the popular Facebook page, "My Stealthy Freedom". The page advocates an end to compulsory hijab.

"Solve economic problems. People won't have time for wandering around when they have jobs. No-one will steal or will be selling themselves into prostitution when they are not starving," Facebook user "Navid Salimi" suggested.

Earlier in February, an anonymous team of Iranian app developers came up with a solution to help young fashion conscious Iranians avoid the morality police with a phone app called "Gershad".

The app allows users to "report" the location where morality police are patrolling and warn unwary passers-by.

The creators said they were fed up with being "humiliated" for what they wear. The latest announcement on the hijab has fuelled further irritation.

"I cannot believe how far they can go to make people miserable," tweeted user @SadafHafezy.

"According to the mind-set of the authorities...not wearing the hijab is a worse offence than embezzlement".

One message of support for the new unit came from user "Kiyan Aylia". The user called on the morality police to "arrest these ladies without hijab and also their husbands because they are supporting them". Then "clean my Iran of these [people] by sending them in exile to the West. Let them enjoy their life there," Kiyan Aylia said.

It's not that CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) intentionally tries to deceive anyone, the problem is (I believe) their research is biased to the point where they either ignore or don't see reality.

This became obvious to me Sunday night as I watched 'The National' news broadcast with Wendy Mesley. I have been watching Wendy for many years and have great respect for her, however, her reporting is limited to the research done by the National's staff.

Do predators use xgender privileges to access women and girls? 

Last Sunday night, she ran a piece about corporations involvement in overturning US state laws allowing for discrimination by businesses against LGBTQIs. The piece stated that the laws were apparently set to accomplish such things as preventing transgendered people from using public bathrooms that do not match the sex reported on their birth certificates. The piece indicated that politicians feared that without the law, men could pretend to be transgenders to gain access to women's/girl's facilities. The piece also stated flat out that no such event has ever occurred.

Following the piece there was a discussion led by Wendy, called by the not-so-creative title, 'The Sunday Talk'. In that discussion, one of the panelists, Jonathon Kaye, (normally a reasonable and intelligent man) restated the claim that the idea of men using the right of transgenders to use the washroom of their sexual self-identity, to get into girl's washrooms and abuse women and girls - was just imagination, totally made up.

The point is that they twice made a statement that is patently untrue but will be accepted as gospel by their mostly-liberal minded viewers. But a quick search of the internet and I found 7 stories of men pretending to be xgendered to gain access to women and girls. All happened in North America and one of them occurred just 2 years ago right in Toronto where CBC's The National is taped.

TORONTO, March 4, 2014 – A biological man claiming to be ‘transgender’ so as to gain access to and prey on women at two Toronto shelters was jailed “indefinitely” last week after being declared by a judge a “dangerous offender.”

Pro-family leaders are pointing out that this is exactly the type of incident they warned of as the Ontario government passed its “gender identity” bill, dubbed the “bathroom bill,” in 2012.

Christopher Hambrook, 37, leaned on the ever expanding legal “rights” offered to people who “identify” with the sex opposite their biology. Under the name “Jessica,” he was able to get into the women’s shelters, where he sexually assaulted several women in 2012, the Toronto Sun reports.

Court heard how one woman awoke to find Hambrook assaulting her on her bed.

Cross-dressing man allegedly videotaped women in restroom
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department says suspect Jason Pomares, 33, dressed up like a woman to spy on women in a Macy's bathroom at the Antelope Valley Mall.

Investigators say he had a concealed camera in a paper bag with a hole in it. "He was secretly and covertly videotaping women while they were using the restroom," said Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Hudson. "It appears he had been in the restroom for about two hours before he was noticed. Over a span of two hours, we've got video of several women entering and exiting the restroom. The way the camera was positioned, it was positioned where it could record what was taking place in one of the bathroom stalls, and on a baby-changing table that is located in the restroom."

A man undressed in a woman's locker room and said he was allowed to do so because of the 'gender identity' rule. 

The issue is the first being faced by Seattle Parks and Recreation.

On February 8 at Evans Pool, a man wearing board shorts entered the women's locker room and began to strip. When females alerted staff they asked the man to leave. 

“The law has changed and I have a right to be here,” the man told them, citing the transgender rule. 

No one was arrested and police weren't called, according to King5. 

Even more disturbing, the man returned a second time while young girls were changing for their swim practice. 

OMG - A Media Conspiracy?

If you Google Transgender in any of the major TV News websites from the Pacific northwest, you will not find this story. You may find links to it, like this one on KING5:(http://www.king5.com/news/man-cites-transgender-rule-in-womens-locker-room/51767639) but they will come up empty - the files have been removed. No story discrediting the original article; it has simply been deleted. Is this because it is a negative story and negative stories are not allowed when it come to transgendered people? This is very disconcerting!

I wonder if they really think that men dressing up as women to prey on girls in washrooms and locker rooms is a good idea - why hide the negative. If it's a good idea it will survive the negative; if it's a really bad idea, then the media is complicit in the sexual abuse of women and children.

Police: Man in bra and wig found in women's bathroom - admitted to other offense where he showered in the girls' locker room for sexual gratification

A man wearing a bra and wig was arrested Friday after he was spotted in a women's bathroom at Everett Community College, police said.  The man, later identified as Taylor J. Buehler, 18, of Lake Stevens, was placed under arrest. 

He admitted to officers that he was the suspect in an earlier voyeurism incident at Everett Community College on Monday, police said. In the earlier incident, he said he took a shower in the girls' locker room for sexual gratification, according to the police report.

A man dressed as a woman has been spotted peeping at females and photographing them in a UC Berkeley locker room.

According to an email just received from the UC Police Department:

"On Monday, October 4, 2010 at 9:20 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. a male disguised as a female was discovered in the Recreational Sports Facility women’s locker room. On both occasions the suspect fled the scene when confronted by staff members. In one of the instances the suspect was seen using a cell phone to photograph women inside the locker room. After each occurrence UCPD searched the area but was unable to locate the suspect. No one was physically contacted during these encounters.

A 46-year-old man accused of dressing as a woman while attempting to take pictures of women across San Bernardino County has been arrested for allegedly striking a security guard while trying to flee a college campus, authorities said.

Rodney Kenneth Petersen was arrested at his Corona home Friday and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported. He posted bail and was released the next day.

Authorities allege Petersen went to Loma Linda University on June 4 and tried to enter several "students only" areas at a female dormitory. After staff members confronted him, officials say Peterson left the building and headed toward a parking lot, where he was met by security.

Purdue police investigate report of man taking photographs in women's restroom

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University police are investigating a reported incident in which a man dressed as a woman was seen taking photographs under the wall of a women's bathroom stall in Yue-Kong Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts.

According to a police report, a woman was in a bathroom stall on the third floor of the building and saw a hand holding a blue flip-phone camera beneath the door. She left the restroom and then returned to confront the person. At that point, she realized the person was a man dressed as a woman.

Transgender Student in Women's Locker Room Raises Uproar

The decision to allow a transgender 45-year-old college student who identifies as a woman but has male genitalia to use the women's locker room has raised a fracas among parents and faith-based organizations, who say children as young as 6 years old use the locker room.

The locker room at Evergreen College in Olympia, Wash., is shared with the Capital High School swim club and a children's swim academy, along with the students at Evergreen.

"The college has to follow state law," Evergreen spokesman Jason Wettstein told ABC News affiliate KOMO. "The college cannot discriminate based on the basis of gender identity. Gender identity is one of the protected things in discrimination law in this state."

But according to parents, the fact that the student has exposed her male genitalia, in one instance in the sauna, is cause for concern.

"[A mother] reported her daughter was upset because she observed a person at the women's locker room naked and displaying male genitalia," said a police report filed in September by a mother on behalf of her 17-year-old daughter.

Cross-dressing man arrested for exposure at Walmart

A 51-year-old man wearing women's clothing was arrested for allegedly undressing in front of children at Wal-mart. Police say Norwood Smith Burnes, 51, of Rome, has a long record of indecent exposure and was on probation for public indecency when the latest incident occurred in the women's bathroom at Wal-mart in Calhoun, the Rome News-Tribune reported. 

Burnes was in "stages of undress while on the stone floor and would do this in the presence of several young children," witnesses told police. When police arrived, they found Burnes wearing a short skirt and jacket, black leather coat, high heels, red nail polish, green eye shadow and jewelry.

Joel Osteen Ordered To Acquire Butcher’s License Due To Exegetical Methods

In the category of 'silliness' comes this little gem:



HOUSTON, TX—The Texas Department of State Health Services has issued an order to Joel Osteen, bestselling author and pastor of Lakewood Church, to acquire a butcher’s license in order to continue handling Scripture.

The department’s Meat Safety Assurance Unit was tipped off to a potential violation of the state’s health code, which prohibits individuals from butchering and mangling poultry, meats, and biblical passages for the public’s consumption without proper training and licensing. When a health inspector then performed a surprise undercover visit to Lakewood Church, sure enough, Osteen was in fact seen brutally slaughtering several passages—including Isaiah 53:5, Jeremiah 1:5, and Psalm 46:10a—without the proper licensing.

“Really we’re just crossing our T’s and dotting our I’s here,” Judd Grant, spokesperson for the inspection unit, told the Houston Chronicle. “It was clear from our observation of Mr. Osteen that he is in fact a skilled and experienced butcher of texts of all kinds. But rules are rules.”

Osteen is expected to comply with the request, and has already spoken victory over the licensing process according to the church’s Director of Positive Thinking.

Doctors have expressed "huge concern" that super-gonorrhoea has spread widely across England and to gay men.

The new superbug prompted a national alert last year when it emerged in Leeds, as one of the main treatments had become useless against it.

Public Health England acknowledges measures to contain the outbreak have been of "limited success".

Doctors fear the sexually transmitted infection, which can cause infertility, could soon become untreatable.

Cases of super-gonorrhoea have now been detected in the West Midlands, London and southern England.

Only 34 cases have been officially confirmed in laboratory testing, but this is likely to be the tip of the iceberg of an infection that can be symptomless.


'Infections spread faster'

The outbreak started in straight couples, but is now being seen in gay men too.

"We've been worried it would spread to men who have sex with men," Peter Greenhouse, a consultant in sexual health based in Bristol, told BBC News.

"The problem is [they] tend to spread infections a lot faster simply as they change partners more quickly."

They are also more likely to have gonorrhoea in their throats. There, further resistance is more likely to develop as antibiotics get to the throat in lower doses and the area is also teeming with other bacteria that can share the resistance to drugs.

The bacterium that causes gonorrhoea is extremely adept at shrugging off our best antibiotics.

So two drugs - azithromycin and ceftriaxone - are used in combination.

But now resistance to azithromycin is spreading, doctors fear it is only a matter of time before ceftriaxone fails too.


What is gonorrhoea?

The disease is caused by the bacterium called Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

The infection is spread by unprotected vaginal, oral and anal sex.


Most women and gays have no obvious symptoms

Of those infected, about one in 10 heterosexual men and more than three-quarters of women, and gay men, have no easily recognisable symptoms.

But symptoms can include a thick green or yellow discharge from sexual organs, pain when urinating and bleeding between periods.

Untreated infection can lead to infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease and can be passed on to a child during pregnancy.


Safe sex urged

England's most senior doctor has already warned gonorrhoea is on the cusp of becoming untreatable.

And Dr Gwenda Hughes, the head of the sexually transmitted infections unit at Public Health England, said: "We cannot afford to be complacent.

"If strains of gonorrhoea emerge that are resistant to both azithromycin and ceftriaxone, treatment options would be limited as there is currently no new antibiotic available to treat the infection."

She is encouraging people to practise safe sex to minimise the risk of sexually transmitted infections.


Infected partners

There is also a concerted campaign to find the sexual partners of people who have the superbug.

But a Public Health England report acknowledges this has been of "limited success" so far.

Of 50 sexual partners reported, only 22 were successfully followed up, but, worryingly, 94% of partners tested had the infection.

The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV said there needed to be a rapid response to the infection and has warned its members to be on the lookout.

Its president, Dr Elizabeth Carlin, said: "The spread of high level azithromycin-resistant gonorrhoea is a huge concern and it is essential that every effort is made to contain further spread.

"Failure to respond appropriately will jeopardise our ability to treat gonorrhoea effectively and will lead to poorer health outcomes for individuals and society as a whole."


'Perfect storm'

But Mr Greenhouse warned that sexual health services were facing their "biggest restriction ever" due to funding cuts.

The emergence of a dangerous superbug was creating a "perfect storm scenario", he said.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health has announced a new tool to help GPs cut the number of antibiotics they prescribe.

It will allow practices to see how their antibiotic prescribing habits compare with other practices.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said: "I want to see antibiotics being prescribed only when necessary and hope this will be a new weapon to help GPs cut the numbers of antibiotics needlessly being given out."
