I generally avoid American politics except when I see something that is not being covered. In this story, the obvious is not stated in any media I have seen. The obvious is that Dick and Liz Cheney have been front-persons for Deep State for years in their day. It is not surprising in the least that they are throwing their weight behind Kamala Harris, Deep State's darling. Trump, with the likes of Elon Musk, RFK2, Tulsi Gabbard, Vivek Ramaswamy, Tucker Carlson and other brilliant and honest people behind him, would do serious damage to Deep States plans.

Donald Trump savaged former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney as “irrelevant” RINOs after both GOPers endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for president.  

“Dick Cheney is an irrelevant RINO, along with his daughter, who lost by the largest margin in the History of Congressional Races!” raged Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, on his Truth Social platform Friday, using the disparaging acronym for Republican in Name Only.

“They couldn’t get [former Dick Cheney aide] Scooter Libby, who did so much for them (but was so unfairly treated!), PARDONED. I did it!” he added.

“I am the Peace President, and only I will stop World War III!” insisted Trump, hours after the ex-VP branded him a “threat” to America.

Earlier Friday, Dick Cheney said there has “never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.”

One could make a good argument that Cheney himself was a greater threat to the republic than Trump will ever be. It was he who faked the "weapons of mass destruction" lie that precipitated the war on Iraq.

“He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again,” the former veep said.

The elder Cheney in a statement hours earlier claimed that “in our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.”

“That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris,” he added.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney was increasingly open on Wednesday about considering a 2024 presidential campaign after soundly losing a Republican primary to a challenger backed by former President Donald Trump.

Speaking to NBC in the wake of her loss, the third-term congresswoman called Trump “a very grave threat and risk to our republic,” and said defeating him will require “a broad and united front of Republicans, Democrats and independents — and that’s what I intend to be part of.”

She declined to say if she would run for president but conceded it’s “something that I’m thinking about.”

The primary results — and the more than 35-point margin of her defeat — were a powerful reminder of the GOP’s rapid shift to the right. A party once dominated by national security-oriented, business-friendly conservatives like her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, now belongs to Trump, animated by his populist appeal and, above all, his denial of defeat in the 2020 election.

Such lies, which have been roundly rejected by federal and state election officials along with Trump’s own attorney general and judges he appointed, transformed Cheney from an occasional critic of the former president to the clearest voice inside the GOP warning that he represents a threat to democratic norms. She’s the top Republican on the House panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters, an attack she referenced in nodding to her political future.

Trump represents a bigger threat to Deep State's control of the government and foreign policy.

“I have said since Jan. 6 that I will do whatever it takes to ensure Donald Trump is never again anywhere near the Oval Office — and I mean it,” she said during her concession speech on Tuesday.

Cheney described her primary loss on Tuesday night as the beginning of a new chapter in her political career as she addressed a small collection of supporters, including her father, on the edge of a vast field flanked by mountains and bales of hay.

“Our work is far from over,” she said, evoking Abraham Lincoln, who also lost congressional elections before ascending to the presidency and preserving the union.

Four hundred miles (645 kilometers) to the east of Cheney’s concession speech, festive Hageman supporters gathered at a sprawling outdoor rodeo and Western culture festival in Cheyenne, many wearing cowboy boots, hats and blue jeans.

“Obviously we’re all very grateful to President Trump, who recognizes that Wyoming has only one congressional representative and we have to make it count,” said Hageman, a ranching industry attorney who had finished third in a previous bid for governor.

Echoing Trump’s conspiracy theories, she falsely claimed the 2020 election was “rigged” as she courted his loyalists in the runup to the election.

Trump and his team celebrated Cheney’s loss, which may represent his biggest political victory in a primary season full of them. The former president called the results “a complete rebuke” of the Jan. 6 committee.

“Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others,” he wrote on his social media platform. “Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now. Thank you WYOMING!”

The news offered a welcome break from Trump’s focus on his growing legal entanglements. Just eight days earlier, federal agents executing a search warrant recovered 11 sets of classified records from the former president’s Florida estate.

Meanwhile in Alaska, which also held elections on Tuesday, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, another prominent GOP critic of Trump, advanced from her primary. Sarah Palin, the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential nominee and a staunch ally of Trump, was also bound for the November general election in the race for Alaska’s sole U.S. House seat.

But most of the attention was on Cheney, whose defeat would have been unthinkable just two years ago. The daughter of a former vice president, she hails from one of the most prominent political families in Wyoming. And in Washington, she was the No. 3 House Republican, an influential voice in GOP politics and policy with a sterling conservative voting record.

Cheney will now be forced from Congress at the end of her third and final term in January. She is not expected to leave Capitol Hill quietly.

She will continue in her leadership role on the congressional panel investigating the Jan. 6 attack until it dissolves at the end of the year. And she is actively considering a 2024 White House bid -- as a Republican or independent -- having vowed to do everything in her power to fight Trump’s influence in her party.

With Cheney’s loss, Republicans who voted to impeach Trump are going extinct.

In all, seven Republican senators and 10 Republican House members backed Trump’s impeachment in the days after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol as Congress tried to certify President Joe Biden’s victory. Just two of those 10 House members have won their primaries this year. After two Senate retirements, Murkowski is the only such Senate Republican on this year’s ballot.

Cheney was forced to seek assistance from the state’s tiny Democratic minority in her bid to pull off a victory. But Democrats across America, major donors among them, took notice. She raised at least $15 million for her election, a stunning figure for a Wyoming political contest.

Voters responded to the interest in the race. With a little more than half of the vote counted, turnout ran about 50% higher than in the 2018 Republican primary for governor.

If Cheney does ultimately run for president — either as a Republican or an independent — don’t expect her to win Wyoming’s three electoral votes.

“We like Trump. She tried to impeach Trump,” Cheyenne voter Chester Barkell said of Cheney on Tuesday. “I don’t trust Liz Cheney.”

And in Jackson, Republican voter Dan Winder said he felt betrayed by his congresswoman.

“Over 70% of the state of Wyoming voted Republican in the last presidential election and she turned right around and voted against us,” said Winder, a hotel manager. “She was our representative, not her own.”

Washington D.C., February 22, 2019 – The movie VICE, nominated for eight Academy Awards including the best picture Oscar, shows on screen several documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act. Those documents relate to then-Vice President Dick Cheney’s meetings with oil company lobbyists discussing potential drilling in Iraq. But at least a dozen other declassified records deserve screen time before Sunday’s Oscars show, according to the National Security Archive’s publication today of primary sources from Cheney’s checkered career.

The documents show how Cheney built a rap sheet for drunk driving and arranged draft deferments in the 1960s, pitched in on President Gerald R. Ford’s unsuccessful veto of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in 1974, helped undermine investigations of CIA scandals in 1975, excused President Ronald Reagan’s Iran-contra misdeeds in 1987, mistakenly distrusted Gorbachev and slowed the end of the Cold War in 1989, promoted the global hegemon role for the U.S. in 1992, hid his work with oil companies in 2001 to set energy policy, endorsed torture and warrantless surveillance in the 2000s, played a leading role in trashing Iraq and the Middle East from the Iraq invasion in 2003 to the present, mysteriously went whole days at the White House without his Vice President’s office generating any saved e-mail, and presented a danger to civilians whether they were armed or not by shooting his hunting partner in 2006.

His slowing of the end of the Cold War was, I believe, nothing to do with misjudging Gorbachev, but everything to do with not wanting the Cold War to end. It was Deep State madness and it continues today.

Common themes emerge from the documents, including Cheney’s long-standing commitment to defending and expanding presidential power, especially on national security matters, a predilection for the “dark side” in CIA operations from the scandals of the 1970s to the War on Terror, and his disastrously wrong foreign policy judgment. Cheney explained his intellectual history to reporters in 2005 by saying, “Watergate and a lot of the things around Watergate and Vietnam both during the ’70s served, I think, to erode the authority I think the president needs to be effective,” and went on to cite the Iran-Contra congressional committee minority report published below.

The documents posted today provide fascinating context for some of Cheney’s most famous moments. After 9/11, on September 16, 2001, Cheney told NBC’s Tim Russert, “We also have to work, though, sort of the dark side, if you will. We've got to spend time in the shadows in the intelligence world. A lot of what needs to be done here will have to be done quietly, without any discussion, using sources and methods that are available to our intelligence agencies, if we're going to be successful.” Just before the invasion of Iraq, on March 16, 2003, Cheney told Russert that when the United States goes in, “we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators.” The vice president was adamant: “to suggest that we need several hundred thousand troops there after military operations cease, after the conflict ends, I don’t think is accurate. I think that’s an overstatement.” Cheney’s message proved to be far from correct. According to a December 2014 Congressional Research Report entitled, “The Cost of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Other Global War on Terror Operations Since 9/11,” the United States spent an estimated $815 billion on the Iraq War, including military operations, base support, weapons maintenance, training Iraq security forces, reconstruction, foreign aid, embassy costs, and veterans’ health care, while more than 4,410 Americans were killed in action and 31,957 wounded in action during the fighting in Iraq.

The Wyoming Republican Party voted to stop recognizing its congresswoman Liz Cheney as a Republican in response to her criticism of former President Donald Trump, which included voting for his impeachment.

Wyoming’s Republican Central Committee voted 31-29 in favor of no longer recognizing Cheney as a Republican on Saturday.

Newsweek noted, however, that the vote was “a symbolic gesture” and “does not strip Cheney of any power.” Cheney will continue to serve as Wyoming’s sole congressional representative and as a member of the US Republican Party.

While many conservatives celebrated the news on social media, calling it “long overdue” and “about time,” a spokesperson for Cheney told AP it was “laughable” to suggest the congresswoman was no longer “a conservative Republican.”

“She is bound by her oath to the Constitution,” the spokesperson said, accusing “a portion of the Wyoming GOP leadership” of allowing “themselves to be held hostage to the lies of a dangerous and irrational man” – in seeming reference to Trump.

Dick Cheney was Deep State's key player in the George W Bush White House. Deep State hates Donald Trump because he does not always play by their rules and they can't control him as they would like. It's not surprising that he is being attacked by the next-gen Deep Stater.

Several Wyoming county Republican organizations had already voted to stop recognizing Cheney as a Republican before the state vote on Saturday, citing Trump in their letters notifying her of the decision.

Cheney – the daughter of controversial former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney – has long been accused of being a RINO, or ‘Republican In Name Only’, and received heavy backlash from the party after she voted to impeach Trump following the January 6 storming of the Capitol by a group of his supporters.

Cheney, a prominent neoconservative figure in the party, was one of just 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump in January.

FBI hid evidence in Malcolm X murder trial, convictions tossed

A New York judge voided the convictions of two black men for the 1965 assassination of activist Malcolm X, after a re-investigation inspired by a Netflix documentary found the FBI had withheld evidence of their innocence.

State Supreme Court Justice Ellen Biben threw out the convictions of Muhammad A. Aziz (aka Norman 3X Butler) and Khalil Islam (aka Thomas 15X Johnson), who were charged with assassinating Malcolm X at Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom and sentenced to life in prison in 1966.

Thursday's decision to void their sentence followed the 22-month investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and lawyers for the two men, which found that both prosecutors and the FBI had withheld evidence that could have exonerated Aziz and Islam during their trial. 

According to the investigation, prosecutors failed to disclose that undercover police officers were present at the Audubon Ballroom at the time of the shooting. The New York Police Department did not reveal that the New York Daily News received a call tipping them off about the impending assassination. The FBI did not tell state officials that a particular man who matched the description of one of the assassins was known to them, and even identified by an informant – letting Aziz and Islam be blamed instead.

The probe did not find a conspiracy by government or police to have Malcolm X killed, or reveal who prosecutors believe is actually to blame. The FBI notes identified the shotgun-wielding assassin described by a witness as “dark-skinned, stocky and having a ‘deep’ beard” as William Bradley, aka Al-Mustafa Shabazz. He died in 2018, and his lawyer denied that he had taken part in the killing.

Bradley was an enforcer for Nation of Islam, the organization Malcolm X famously joined in 1952 but broke away from in 1964 to launch a new group, Organization of Afro-American Unity.

The third man convicted in the assassination, Mujahid Abdul Halim, confessed to the murder and his conviction has not been overturned. He has always maintained Aziz and Islam were innocent. The two men spent decades trying to clear their names. Aziz was released from prison in 1985, and is now 83. Islam was released in 1987 and died in 2009, at the age of 74. 

“This wasn’t a mere oversight,” their lawyer Deborah Francois told the New York Times. “This was a product of extreme and gross official misconduct.”

“These men did not get the justice that they deserved,” said DA Vance. The failure cannot be remedied, he added, “but what we can do is acknowledge the error, the severity of the error.”

His re-investigation was inspired by the Neftlix documentary series 'Who Killed Malcolm X?', hosted by Abdur-Rahman Muhammad. After it began, a book was published accusing Bradley of being one of the assassins. ‘The Dead Are Arising,’ by Les and Tamara Payne went on to win a Pulitzer Prize in the biography category.

Was this another case of FBI incompetence, or was there a reason for their criminal withholding of evidence. 

Biden’s summit is ‘old propaganda’ rhetoric - Oliver Stone

Filmmaker Oliver Stone has told RT that the “totally corrupt” US government has been rehashing old propaganda cliches when promoting President Joe Biden's upcoming international ‘Summit for Democracy’.

On the latest episode of RT's ‘Going Underground’, Afshin Rattansi asked the Oscar-winning director what he thought about the so-called ‘Summit for Democracy’ that will be hosted by Biden next month.

“That’s old propaganda: ‘We’re the free world, and the Russians and the Chinese are not. And the Iranians and all the bad guys are on the other side. It doesn’t work that way if you go to those countries,” Stone said. “It’s relative. You have to understand – there's grey matter, it's not black and white.”

Stone pointed to the role of money in American politics and cited reports that a record $14 billion was spent on the 2020 US presidential and congressional campaigns. 

When it takes $14 billion to elect a president, you wonder – what kind of democracy is this? You can’t even get a congressman to talk to you unless you pay and you have a business interest. It’s very hard in Washington to get attention for an ordinary citizen. You need money, you need lobbying weight. Our government is totally corrupt.

Biden’s virtual summit on December 9-10 will focus on “challenges and opportunities facing democracies,” according to the White House. The US has invited 110 countries to participate, notably leaving out China, Russia, Iran, and Turkey.

It's just a coincidence that these are the  countries which don't buy weapons from America. I expect this conference to turn into a sales forum for American weapons.

Stone also discussed his new documentary about John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963, ‘JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass’, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this summer. A four-part series version of the film, ‘JFK – Destiny Betrayed’, was screened at the Rome Film Festival in October. 

The filmmaker said he found it telling that his project received “very little mainstream coverage” in the US compared to the press it got in Europe. 

"It’s a memory hole. They don’t want to talk about it because our film raises substantial questions. In fact, it contradicts the official theory,” Stone said. “I’m used to this, you know. There’s a wall of silence here.” 

In the same interview, Stone criticized Biden and his predecessor, Donald Trump, for delaying the release of the remainder of the classified documents on the Kennedy case.

Family of Capitol rioter who died by ‘overdose’ demands autopsy review

The family of a woman whose death during the pro-Trump riot on Capitol Hill was ruled a drug overdose is crowdfunding an autopsy review, after Washington, DC police refused to release body camera footage of her final moments.

Rosanne Boyland was 34 when she traveled in January from her home in Georgia to Washington, DC to protest the certification of Joe Biden’s electoral victory. After crowds of Trump supporters took their rowdy protest to the US Capitol, Boyland would later be found dead among them, with her death ruled an amphetamine overdose by the DC medical examiner’s office several months later.

Her family aren’t buying the story, and have launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance a review of her autopsy.

“There are still many questions about exactly what happened to her,” the family wrote on GiveSendGo this month. “Videos show her being beaten by a female officer after being crushed by protesters pushed by police. Yet the DC Medical Examiner said Rosanne's body showed no signs of trauma, and attributed her death to the prescription medication she took every day for years.”

In an update to the campaign posted on Tuesday, they added that Boyland was not abusing amphetamines. Rather she was taking adderall, a prescription drug containing four kinds of amphetamine used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. “The only drugs in Rosanne's body were her prescription medications,” they wrote.

Thousands of hours of video footage – from both surveillance cameras and police body cameras – captured during the Capitol protest remain unreleased, with authorities citing the importance of this footage to ongoing criminal investigations. Boyland’s family filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the DC Metropolitan Police to obtain body camera footage from officers who handled her unconscious body, but their request was denied.

Some of this footage allegedly shows Boyland being carried into a space beneath the House majority leader’s office, where lawyers for other defendants claim that their clients were assaulted by Capitol Police officers. Conservative journalist Julie Kelly reported on the story last week, after seeing legal documents alleging a series of brutal beatings taking place in the tunnels under the Capitol.

Three other protesters died in the Capitol on January 6. Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was shot dead by a Capitol Police officer. Two other Trump supporters in their 50s – Benjamin Philips and Kevin Greeson – died of medical emergencies.

Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, whose death was initially blamed on the pro-Trump mob, passed away of a stroke the day after the riot.

Biden pardons Fauci, Cheney, Milley and Jan. 6 committee

US President Joe Biden has issued preemptive pardons for former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who led the US response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as members of Congress who investigated the January 6 Capitol riot.

In a statement on Monday cited by multiple media outlets, Biden expressed concern about US officials being threatened with what he described as unjust criminal prosecutions.

He singled out Milley, Fauci, and members and staff of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the US Capitol, stressing that “these public servants have served our nation with honor and distinction and do not deserve to be the targets of unjustified and politically motivated prosecutions.”

Unjustified and politically motivated prosecutions are a Democratic policy, not Republican.

Milley, who has called Trump a 'fascist,' has had a brilliant military career, serving in some of the world’s most dangerous places “to protect and defend democracy,” Biden said. He also touted Fauci’s professional record as former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief medical adviser during the Covid-19 pandemic. “The United States is safer and healthier because of him,” the president said.

 Trump vows to repeal Biden’s ‘foolish’ orders

As for the members of Congress that investigated the January 6 attack, Biden said they fulfilled their mission by holding accountable “a mob of insurrectionists [that] attacked the Capitol in an attempt to overturn a fair and free election by force and violence.” The attack was carried out by supporters of then-President Donald Trump who attempted to disrupt the certification of Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.

“The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense. Our nation owes these public servants a debt of gratitude for their tireless commitment to our country,” Biden said.

While Biden touted Milley’s military career, Trump has accused him of treason for allegedly telling Chinese officials in the waning days of his administration that the US would not attack China, though should an attack be planned, he would inform his Chinese counterpart in advance. “This is an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH,” he said in September 2023.

Trump is also a longtime critic of Fauci, calling him a “disaster” for his handling of the pandemic. Critics have accused him of downplaying the potential side effects of the Covid vaccines and promoting overly strict lockdowns that hurt the economy.

The incoming US president has also been dismissive of the investigation into his alleged role in the events leading to and during the Capitol riot, calling it a politically motivated “witch hunt.”

He has fiercely criticized former US Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, both members of the January 6 committee, calling them “two horrible RINOs [Republicans in name only] who put themselves ahead of our Country.” Trump has also accused Cheney of witness tampering, which he claimed helped shape key testimony in the Capitol riot investigation.

Biden issued the pardons hours before Trump was sworn into office.

US President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory was a major defeat for activist billionaire George Soros and his allies in the Democratic Party, who sought to plunge America into a “gender frenzy,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has claimed.  

Speaking in an interview with state-owned Kossuth Radio on Friday, Orban accused the 94-year-old Hungarian-born philanthropist of maintaining a “large network” intertwined with the Democratic Party, claiming their efforts were focused on imposing globalist ideologies in a bid to further their economic interests.  

“They believe that it is their duty… to fix humanity. In other words, to impose on the countries what they consider right,” he said, adding that “migration chaos” often follows those efforts. According to Orban, Democratic dominance also led to an uncontrolled spread of woke politics. “Here come the American Democrats, because then there will be Pride, rainbow flags, and transgender issues,” he said.

According to Orban, Trump’s victory ushered a significant shift in this regard. “George Soros lost the battle in America. I could say that America was liberated by Donald Trump,” the prime minister said, suggesting that the tycoon’s allies had been forced to withdraw back to Brussels.  

“We, Europeans, now have to face a very difficult period as they entrench themselves in Brussels… they need to be squeezed out of Brussels,” he said. Orban also expressed outrage at the fact that the Soros network is funded by the EU budget.  

“We cannot tolerate this, it is our money too… The biggest corruption scandal in politics is that Brussels is in George Soros’s pocket,” he charged.  

Orban has long been critical of Soros and his Open Society Foundations (OSF), accusing them of funding pro-migration policies, undermining traditional family values, and promoting a globalist agenda. Critics of Soros have also accused him of fueling several so-called ‘color’ revolutions and having financial ties to hundreds of media outlets, which shield him from any backlash, shape public opinion, and promote what Orban called “LGBT fanaticism.” OSF, however, insists that its sole mission is to support human rights and democracy worldwide.

Its sole mission is to recreate the world in George Soros' image. And who wants that other than George Soros?
