Economics - Trump Style > Trump ate von der Leyen for breakfast in biggest deal ever - Orban

Is there a big difference between Trump's trade deals and the old Mafia protection rackets - Pay me what I want and I won't destroy you!

‘Dark day’: French PM says EU’s Trump trade deal is a ‘submission’

The European Union’s trade deal with the United States is “submission” to U.S. President Donald Trump and marks a “dark day” in the history of the bloc, French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou said on Monday.

Trump announced a trade deal between the U.S. and the EU on Sunday after meeting with European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland.

Bayrou took to social media to criticize the deal, which would see an across the board 15 per cent tariff on most goods from Europe.

“Von der Leyen-Trump Agreement: it is a dark day when an alliance of free peoples, united to affirm their values and defend their interests, resolves to submission,” Bayrou posted in French on the social media platform X.

The response from French government officials stands in contrast to some other European nations. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz welcomed the deal.

“We have been able to safeguard our core interests,” Merz said in a statement on Monday.

A 15% tariff is safeguarding? Someone please explain that to me.

Also, explain to me how weakening the economy of all your friends and trading partners doesn't come back to bite you. What goes around, comes around!

On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron has not reacted to the announcement of a trade deal, while other senior French officials have been cautious in their reactions.

“The trade agreement negotiated by the European Commission with the United States will bring temporary stability to economic actors threatened by the escalation of American tariffs, but it is unbalanced,” French deputy minister for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad said in a statement on X.

“The current situation is not satisfactory and cannot be sustainable. The free trade that has brought shared prosperity to both sides of the Atlantic since the end of the Second World War is now rejected by the United States, which is choosing economic coercion and complete disregard for WTO rules,” Haddad added.

The private meeting between Trump and von der Leyen culminated months of bargaining, with the White House deadline Friday nearing for imposing punishing tariffs on the 27-member EU.

“It was a very interesting negotiation. I think it’s going to be great for both parties,” Trump said. The agreement, he said, was “a good deal for everybody” and “a giant deal with lots of countries.”

Von der Leyen said the deal “will bring stability, it will bring predictability that’s very important for our businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Trump said the EU had agreed to buy some $750 billion worth of U.S. energy and invest $600 billion more than it already is in America, as well as making a major purchase of military equipment.

“We are agreeing that the tariff straight across for automobiles and everything else will be a straight across tariff of 15 per cent,” Trump said. “We have a tariff of 15 per cent. We have the opening up of all of the European countries.”

Von der Leyen said the 15 per cent tariffs were “across the board, all inclusive” and that “indeed, basically the European market is open.”

Except, you are restricted to buying American LNG at twice the price of Russian gas. And you have been bullied or fooled into thinking you need trillions of dollars worth of American-made weapons systems. Orban is right, as usual.

Narco World > Canada's Most wanted captured in Italy; Seven Mafia operatives arrested in Montreal

Canada’s most wanted criminal arrested in Rome hideout

Canada’s most wanted fugitive has been arrested in Italy after more than a year at large.

Dave (Pik) Turmel, alleged by police to be the head of Quebec street gang Blood Family Mafia, was arrested in Rome on Thursday after local police were tipped off about his presence in the Italian capital.

Quebec City police are holding a news conference Friday afternoon about Turmel’s capture.

Police have sought the 29-year-old Turmel since July 2023 as part of an operation that began in February 2019 to counter an increase in violence linked to drug trafficking.

In a news release Friday, Italian authorities say police burst into a vacation home where a 29-year-old fugitive wanted in Canada gave himself up and handed police a fake passport.

The Bolo program, operated by a Canadian charity in partnership with the country’s police forces, lists Turmel as its No. 1 most wanted criminal, sought by Quebec City police for drug trafficking.

He is accused of forming an alliance with independent drug dealers leading a bloody turf war in Quebec City and the eastern part of the province against the Hells Angels.

Sweeping Italian mafia raids results in 7 arrests by Montreal police

Authorities in Montreal have arrested seven suspects in an organized crime sweep on Wednesday morning targeting the city’s Italian mafia.

Police say the individuals face various charges, including drug trafficking, possession of substances for the purpose of trafficking, and committing an offence for the benefit of a criminal organization.

The suspects are six men between the ages of 34 and 59, and one 44-year-old woman.

Police say 40 officers were involved in the operation.

All seven suspects are allegedly linked to what police called a “traditional Italian organized crime clan,” a release from the SPVM says.

The series of arrests took place in the LaSalle, Verdun and Brossard areas.

All seven suspects were expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

The raids, dubbed ‘Operation Americano’, were led by the Montreal police’s anti-gang unit.

Cmdr. Francis Renaud, head of the Montreal police’s organized crime section, said the operation would disrupt organized crime in the city’s LaSalle and Verdun neighbourhoods.

The investigation involved significant resources and included wiretaps, video footage and “day and night” surveillance.

He told reporters at police headquarters on Wednesday that Italian organized crime has traditionally been associated with Montreal’s Saint-Leonard neighborhood, so “we just hit a little sector that goes underneath the radar a lot,” he said.

Renaud said organized crime in that area is different because traditional Mafia work with bikers and other gangs that would have previously been considered rivals. “They’re doing business, dealing with partners from other organized groups that back in the day we would say were enemies, but they’re not enemies anymore.”

He said the group targeted doesn’t sell drugs at the street level, but allegedly works with a network of resellers as a kind of wholesaler.

While the police operation likely struck a blow to the organized crime network in parts of the city, authorities say more people would be found to fill the place of those who were arrested, forcing police to start a new round of investigations.

“Of course they will find somebody else to replace those guys if those guys stay inside,” he said. “It’s our job to (monitor) the intel and see who is coming in to take the place, and do the exact same thing again.”

The investigation into the group began in 2023, and has already resulted in seizures of cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, guns and $2.2 million in cash during raids last year, according to authorities. Three people were previously arrested, bringing the total number of arrests to 10.

Corruption is Everywhere > The CIA, The Mafia, Heroin, and the Kennedys; But corruption won't be in El Salvador very long if the President survives

Drugs as Weapons of War: The US CIA and the Heroin Trade

Before Fentanyl, there was Heroin. Why would the CIA support the global heroin trade?

Why examine the role of the CIA in the rise of the global Heroin trade?

Three reasons-

First, during my recent travels to Rome, I learned of “Operation Blue Moon (Operazione Blue Moon),” which is widely covered in Italian press, publications, and embedded in the Italian political belief system. An account paradoxically completely absent in both the CIA declassified document reading room and in US press coverage. In Italy, “Operation Blue Moon” is shorthand for a commonly believed narrative involving collusion between the CIA and the Italian Mafia to flood dissident Italian groups with inexpensive heroin.

Second, the Chinese CCP government appears to be intentionally targeting the USA with cheap imported Fentanyl, a drug similar to Heroin in mechanism of action but much more potent and deadly. In the US, the commonly accepted narrative is that this is a form of intentional but surreptitious politically motivated chemical warfare by the CCP against American citizens intended to corrode and compromise the cultural backbone of the USA. Assuming this to be true, this strategy and associated tactics would be eerily similar to Italian claims of CIA strategy and tactics in the case of the widely held belief in the history of “Operation Blue Moon.” Tangential but related is that HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was once addicted to Heroin and was convicted of felony Heroin possession.

And third, today, with what is proposed to be the complete release of the entire unredacted dossier of US Government records concerning the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, we may be able to finally conclude whether or not the US CIA was involved in that seminal event. Was his assassination an internal coup? HHS Secretary RFK Jr. has repeatedly asserted that he believes that the CIA was involved in the assassinations of both his uncle and father.

Is the culture of the CIA truly so evil, so Machiavellian, that the organization would promote and facilitate the global heroin trade as a political weapon? Is it so evil that it would even participate in a violent domestic coup by assassinating a sitting US President to defend and advance its organizational interests? Or assassinate a leading presidential candidate that would likely act to reduce CIA power or even dissolve the organization? Well, the willingness of the CIA (and its corrupt partner organization USAID) to assassinate or in a multitude of other ways overturn sovereign foreign governments is well documented. As is the long history of CIA/USAID foreign election interference, including interference in Italian elections.

Here’s how President Nayib Bukele solves corruption in El Salvador. He gathered the entire Executive Branch together for a meeting and told them that they are currently under investigation for corruption.

President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele: “We had to remove corrupt judges and corrupt attorneys and prosecutors” Nayib Bukele also said: “If you don’t impeach the corrupt judges, you CANNOT fix the country. They will form a cartel (a judicial dictatorship) and block all reforms, protecting the systemic corruption that put them in their seats”
