Liz Truss > UK and Europe need new agenda - globalism is not working

Former UK PM: UK and Europe need to

abandon ‘failed leftist-globalist agendas,’

and adopt Trump’s economic policies

Britain is in chaos, as is every Western country that globalists govern. Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss didn’t mention one of the most important topics in her pro-Trump speech: immigration, which Trump is taking seriously. Not only are open-door immigration policies utterly reckless, but unvetted mass migration is contributing to major economic decline, not to mention posing a threat to national security. It also adds enormous costs to fighting crime.

Trump’s Make America Great Again plan is a commonsense one. Americans woke up to recognize the lies they were being incessantly told by their leftist governments and activist media. Let’s hope the UK and EU do the same.

Truss’ endorsement is welcome addition to the movement that is sweeping across the West to rescue it from the globalist deep state, which Truss has blamed for sabotaging her brief tenure as prime minister.

Liz Truss is sound in her analysis. She became the shortest-serving prime minister in British history, with only 45 days at the helm. According to the mainstream media, her aggressive economic plan threatened to crash the markets. She thus ended up with members of her own party turning against her, amid accusations of going back on “what she promised to do,” although her time in office was short to justify such an accusation.

UK and Europe Need to Adopt Trump’s Policies, Says Former British PM

by Kurt Zindulka, Breitbart, November 20, 2024:

The UK and the European Union need to abandon their failed leftist-globalist agendas and adopt the economic policies of Donald Trump, former British Prime Minister Liz Truss said.

Economic “doom” is on the horizon if governments across the Atlantic continue on the path of high taxes, high regulations, the green net zero agenda, and weakness to Communist China, Truss warned in an interview with Fox Business.

“We’ve got the highest energy prices in the developed world, the highest taxes for 70 years, and what is happening is taxes keep going up but the revenue is not coming in and the economies are stagnating and ultimately I think there will be a financial crisis unless Europe does things differently,” she warned.

“President Trump is showing the way, he showed the way with deregulation, with fracking that brought down energy costs, but also in taking a strong stand against China… If Europe doesn’t change, if the UK doesn’t change we are facing decline.”

Truss said that she believes the second term of President Donald Trump will “turbo charge” the American economy, which will in turn force leaders in Europe to recognise the folly of their ways and adopt more sensible economic policies put forward by figures like Trump.

We already have an example of how sensible governments can turn economies around quickly. Javier Milei has turned Argentina's economy around in less than a year and economists now expect it to have one of the highest GDPs in the world next year. Trump's DOGE crew are watching Milei closely, Britain would be wise to do the same.

Canada would also be wise to do the same, but there is no hope of wisdom with the current government.

The former British PM argued that the people of Europe and the UK are ready for the change, citing the 2016 Brexit referendum, but that the will of the people has been thwarted “a very powerful political elite and bureaucratic class.

Truss has claimed that her short-lived premiership came to a premature end as a result of the British deep state

European Politics > The New, New Prime Minister of the UK

..

The spectacular fall from grace of Liz Truss has re-opened the door for Rishi Sunak to become PM. Is this good news or bad? Is he Deep State's man? The good news is, Suella's back!

Sunak takes over as UK prime minister amid economic crisis

LONDON (AP)Rishi Sunak became Britain’s third prime minister this year on Tuesday, tasked with taming an economic crisis that has left the country’s finances in a precarious state and millions struggling to pay their food and energy bills.

Sunak, who is the U.K.’s first leader of color, met King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, where the monarch officially asked the new leader of the governing Conservative Party to form a government, as is tradition.

Sunak clinched the leadership position Monday, seen by his party as a safe pair of hands to stabilize an economy sliding toward recession — and stem its own plunging popularity, after the brief, disastrous term of Liz Truss.

Her package of unfunded tax cuts spooked financial markets with the prospect of ballooning debt, drove the pound to record lows and forced the Bank of England to intervene — weakening Britain’s fragile economy and obliterating Truss’ authority within her party.

In one of his first acts, Sunak announced he would retain Treasury chief Jeremy Hunt, appointed by Truss to steady the markets two weeks ago amid the turmoil. His removal would have set off new tremors.

Sunak — at 42 the youngest British leader in more than 200 years — acknowledged the scale of his challenge as well as the skepticism of a British public alarmed at the state of the economy and weary of a Conservative Party soap opera that has chewed through two prime ministers in as many months.

“I fully appreciate how hard things are,” Sunak said outside the prime minister’s 10 Downing Street residence. “And I understand, too, that I have work to do to restore trust after all that has happened. All I can say is that I am not daunted.”

Sunak immediately set about appointing a Cabinet, aiming to put his stamp on the government while bringing in people from different wings of the Conservative Party.

He removed about a dozen members of Truss’ government, but kept several senior figures in place besides Hunt, including Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and Defense Secretary Ben Wallace.

Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who resigned last week in a move that helped trigger Truss’ downfall, got her job back. A leading light of the Conservatives’ right wing, Braverman is charged with fulfilling a controversial, stalled plan to send some asylum seekers arriving in Britain on a one-way trip to Rwanda.

Sunak also brought back faces from the era of Truss’ predecessor, Boris Johnson, including Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab and Cabinet veteran Michael Gove.

Sunak aims to assemble an experienced Cabinet whose competence can erase memories of the missteps and U-turns of the past months. But the right-of-center party’s divisions over immigration, relations with Europe and other big issues, remain deep. Allies of Truss and the scandal-plagued Johnson who have been sidelined or demoted from government can now nurture grievances from Parliament’s back benches.

“This is not a fresh start. It’s the same Conservative cabinet of chaos,” opposition Labour Party lawmaker Rosena Allin-Khan said on Twitter.

When he was Treasury chief, Sunak became popular with the public by handing out billions in support to shuttered businesses and laid-off workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

But now he will have to oversee tax hikes and public spending cuts as he tries to bring inflation and government debt under control. A wave of strikes over pay that has already seen walkouts by railway staff, telecoms workers, garbage collectors, lawyers and dockworkers is likely to spread.

Acknowledging “difficult decisions to come,” Sunak tried to draw a line under the chaos that engulfed Truss and Johnson. He said his government “will have integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level.”

Opponents already depict Sunak as out of touch with the concerns of ordinary people because of his privileged private school background, previous career as a hedge fund manager and vast wealth.

Much of Sunak’s fortune comes through his wife Akshata Murty, whose father is the billionaire founder of Indian IT firm Infosys. The couple is worth 730 million pounds ($826 million), according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

In April 2022, it emerged that Murty did not pay U.K. tax on her overseas income. The practice was legal — and Murty soon agreed to relinquish it — but it looked bad at a time when millions of Britons were struggling to make ends meet.

Sunak’s victory is a remarkable reversal of fortune just weeks after he lost to Truss in a Conservative election to replace Johnson.

Sunak was chosen as Conservative leader on Monday after becoming the only candidate to clear the nomination threshold of 100 lawmakers. Sunak defeated House of Commons Leader Penny Mordaunt — who keeps that job in his government — and Johnson, who failed to rally enough support for a comeback bid.

Next Sunak has to prepare for a budget statement, scheduled to be delivered by Hunt on Oct. 31, that will set out how the government plans to come up with billions of pounds (dollars) to fill a fiscal hole created by soaring inflation and a sluggish economy — and exacerbated by Truss’ destabilizing plans.

Truss announced her resignation last week and departed Tuesday after making a defiant public statement in Downing Street, seven weeks to the day after she was appointed prime minister.

Truss offered a defense of her low-tax vision, saying she was “more convinced than ever that we need to be bold and confront the problems we face.”

She leaves a Conservative Party trailing the left-of-center Labour Party in opinion polls. Sunak has at most two years to turn its fortunes around. There does not need to be an election until the end of 2024, though public pressure to call an early poll is growing.

Jill Rutter, of the Institute for Government, said Sunak’s task was to show the Conservatives “are capable of governing in a fair way in the national interest.”

“If they continue to look like a party that is incapable of making decisions, incapable of making those decisions stick, then they will probably deserve to be punished by the electorate next time round,” she said.

European Politics > Suella off to a great start - burglars look-out; Liz Truss - Huge Zionist!

Police will attend EVERY burglary: All 43 chief constables

in England and Wales sign landmark agreement

By EXCLUSIVE BY REBECCA CAMBER, CRIME AND SECURITY EDITOR FOR THE DAILY MAIL
PUBLISHED: 18:49 EDT, 4 October 2022

Police chiefs have agreed for the first time to send an officer to every burgled home.

The historic move commits them always to make a visit, regardless of the location and what has been stolen.

Signed by all 43 chief constables in England and Wales, the landmark deal comes a day after it emerged that an average of 774 burglaries go unsolved every day.

Martin Hewitt of the National Police Chiefs’ Council says more cases should now reach court – the prosecution rate is as low as 1.7 per cent in some areas.

‘Wherever you live in England and Wales you can be confident the police will attend if you experience the invasion of a home burglary,’ he adds.

‘This should see more burglaries being solved and more offenders prosecuted.’ Writing in tomorrow's Daily Mail, Mr Hewitt declares: ‘We want to give people the peace of mind of knowing if you experience that invasion, the police will come, find all possible evidence and make every effort to catch those responsible.

‘That’s a critical part of the contract between the police and public.’

The historic commitment is being seen as a watershed moment for policing because forces had been setting their own priorities, which can differ wildly around the country.

Each home burglary will be attended by a police officer, all 43 chief constables of England and Wales
have said in a landmark agreement

The number of criminals being prosecuted has more than halved and the number found guilty is even lower
– just 7,887 burglars were convicted last year

Today the Mail revealed that 1.76million burglaries were reported across England and Wales over the past five years – but 1.41million of the cases were closed without a suspect being identified.

The number of criminals being prosecuted has more than halved and the number found guilty is even lower – just 7,887 burglars were convicted last year. Until recently police chiefs had insisted there was no evidence that having an officer attend resulted in more offenders being caught.

THREE IN FOUR WANT OFFICERS TO VISIT VICTIMS

Three quarters of Britons believe that police should visit burglary victims, according to a Daily Mail poll.

It also found that 96 per cent of over-55s think crime is not taken seriously enough by forces. The research, which was carried out by Churchill home insurance, shows how home break-ins can shatter lives.

'Home break ins can shatter lives'

As many as 97 per cent of victims say a raid has an affect on their everyday activities, with 37 per cent saying it has a huge impact. More than a third of those targeted said they felt violated by the experience.

A quarter were left feeling scared or reported having trouble sleeping.

More than one in six felt depressed and 16 per cent suffered anxiety or panic attacks. In the worst cases – 6 per cent of the total – the victims needed to see a doctor, counsellor, or therapist. The poll found 63 per cent feared the cost of living crisis would make burglaries more likely.

Sarah Khan, head of Churchill home insurance, said: ‘The psychological scars of the victims of burglary are often overlooked.

‘Burglars who violate people’s homes can leave people with significant emotional trauma for many years.’

But a new ‘rapid evidence assessment’ by the College of Policing overturned the established thinking. The report presented at a meeting of police chiefs on September 30 concluded that visiting crime scenes could provide investigative opportunities to solve the case, reassure victims and prevent future offences.

It followed a devastating audit in August by His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary Andy Cooke which revealed victims were being let down and called for officers to attend every domestic raid.

Yesterday Mr Cooke said: ‘Back in August we published a report which said the police response to burglary must improve. Burglary is an invasive crime that strikes at the heart of how safe we feel in our homes. Yet too many victims may not see a single officer – as I have said previously, that can’t be right.

‘Today’s announcement shows that police leaders have started to act on our findings. This is a positive step forwards in solving more burglaries and making sure victims get the service they deserve.’

Mr Hewitt pointed out that the number of burglaries was at an all-time low – ‘down 51 per cent over the past decade due to increased investment by police and partners in preventing them happening’.

According to the NPCC, chief constables will work to ensure the new commitment is implemented as soon as practically possible.

Chief Constable Andy Marsh, chief executive of the College of Policing: ‘Officers across the country want to be locking up criminals and keeping communities safe. Our standards will help bring consistency to the police’s response, enable them to get the basics right and deliver what the public expect.’

Police chiefs will now ask Home Secretary Suella Braverman for extra cash to ‘focus more resources’ on burglaries.

Former victims’ commissioner Vera Baird said: ‘This is a big step forward for victims and for restoring public confidence in the police. They need quick reassurance that police care about their safety and there still is effective law and order when their personal security has been violated.’

Last week chief constables from across the country met. Reducing crime and building public confidence were top of our agenda.

At that meeting we took an important collective decision – to attend all home burglaries. Some forces already do this. Others attend where it has been established there are evidential lines of enquiry or where victims are vulnerable or elderly.

Some police chiefs have struggled to achieve attendance at all burglaries with limited resources and balancing an increase in complex and highly harmful crimes. But burglary is invasive and can be deeply traumatic.

Martin Hewitt, chairman of the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC), said it was 'critical' to 'deal with' issues surrounding vetting and professional standards proceedings in policing.

We want to give people the peace of mind of knowing if you experience that invasion, the police will come, find all possible evidence and make every effort to catch those responsible. That’s a critical part of the contract between the police and public.

We’re also asking for the Home Secretary’s help so police chiefs can focus more resources on solving crime and raising confidence. Firstly, we’re asking government to seriously take on the vast widening of the policing mission. We want to focus more on solving crime. The public want the same. And so do politicians.

But a National Audit Office report in 2018 showed that 64 per cent of emergency calls to the police were not about crime. Some are entirely legitimate police activity, but a substantial proportion see police stepping into health and social work because of an absence of other services.

We have been discussing this for years and there has been no meaningful change – there needs to be for us to improve crime rates. Secondly, we want to see a review of crime recording processes. Complying with the process is an industry in policing that takes officers away from neighbourhood policing and the subsequent statistics present a misleading picture to the public about the reality of crime. Right now, for crime recording purposes a burglary of someone’s family home is treated the same as the loss of a spade from a shed. There must be a better way.

Thirdly, we want to work across the policing system and with government to agree the core police services that should be delivered to a consistent standard across the country – with evidence and public priorities at the heart of our decision-making. We don’t currently have this shared view of our core services and as a result, priorities can change with the wind. With it, we can hold fast to an agreed mission the public can understand and support.

Speaking at pro-Israel conference, Liz Truss says that the UK and its allies will ‘never allow’ Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon.

New UK Prime Minister Liz Truss pledged “wholehearted” support for the Jewish State during a speech at the Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) conference on Monday.

“I am so pleased to be here for the first time at the CFI event as your prime minister,” Truss was quoted as saying by the Jewish Chronicle.

“As you know I am a huge Zionist, I am a huge supporter of Israel, and I know that we can take the UK-Israel relationship from strength to strength.”

“In this world – where we are facing threats from authoritarian regimes who don’t believe in freedom and democracy – two free democracies, the UK and Israel, need to stand shoulder to shoulder and we will be even closer in the future,” she said.

Truss stressed that her country’s support for Israel is “absolute” and “wholehearted,” while adding that the UK and its allies would ensure that Iran “will never…get a nuclear weapon.”

During a meeting with Prime Minister Yair Lapid last month, Truss mentioned that the UK is weighing moving its embassy – which is currently located in Tel Aviv – to Jerusalem.

Referencing the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, Truss vowed to “put a stop” to local councils and public institutions adopting anti-Israel policies.

Other high-ranking UK government officials expressed their approval of the potential embassy move.

Health Minister Robert Jenrick said he was “delighted” by Truss’ proposal that the embassy be relocated to Israel’s capital city.

“We have a site in Jerusalem there waiting to go,” he was quoted by JC as saying.

“It is time we took responsibility and built that Embassy and recognized that the true capital of the State of Israel is obviously Jerusalem.”
