The Media is the Message > BBC apologizes for woefully antisemitic Gaza documentary; BMJ rebuked for quality of Covid_19 report

BBC Apologizes for its Gaza Documentary

The BBC has been forced to publicly apologize for showing Gaza: How to Survive a War Zone, a so-called “documentary” about how children are faring in Gaza. The film is full of carefully chosen, and even some deliberately staged, views of children trying to survive amidst the rubble. The film-whitewashes Hamas as a brave “resistance” movement and presents the IDF as a group of killers bombing schools and houses indiscriminately — no mention is made of the tremendous efforts made by the IDF to warn civilians away from sites about to be targeted — and engaging, we are supposed to believe, in “ethnic cleansing” or even “genocide.” It was revealed that the 13-year-old Arab boy who narrated the film, Abdullah al-Yazouri, is the son of the deputy minister of agriculture in the Hamas-run government, and another member of the family was one of the founders of Hamas.

When this link to Hamas was discovered, the BBC pulled the documentary off the air. It has also apologized to the public. It was then further discovered that the documentary filmmaker Hoyo Films had paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to the mother of the boy for his appearance as narrator of the documentary. This money ultimately came from British taxpayers, who, through mandatory license fees, support the BBC, and thus those taxpayers indirectly paid Hoyo Films for, among other things, the huge amounts it a Hamas-linked family. It’s a major scandal, and more about it can be found here:

BBC Apologizes for ‘Unacceptable’ Mistakes With Gaza Documentary, Admits Palestinian Interviewees’ Ties to Hamas

by Shiryn Ghermezian, Algemeiner, February 28, 2025:

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on Thursday apologized for “unacceptable” and “serious flaws” during the filming of a documentary about Palestinian children living in the Gaza Strip.

The admission came after the BBC removed the documentary, titled “Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone,” from its iPlayer streaming platform on Feb. 21 when it was discovered that the film’s 13-year-old Palestinian narrator (now 14), Abdullah Al-Yazouri, was the son of a senior Hamas official.

The documentary was also taken down after it was revealed that two of the cameramen who worked on the BBC documentary had voiced support for Hamas, and following revelations about inaccurate translations in the film that masked the antisemitism of some participants. Examples of the latter issue include mistranslations in the film that refer to Hamas terrorists as an “army” and “jihad against the Jews” as “resistance against the Israelis,” according to Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA), a British volunteer-based charity. The Telegraph cited at least five instances in the film where the Arabic word for “Jew”— “Yahud” or “Yahudy” — was mistranslated as “Israel” or “Israeli forces,” or removed altogether.

You can imagine how those two Hamas-supporting cameramen could choose views that would be most heart-rending, of collapsed buildings and just outside hospitals where wounded children are being rushed in, held in the arms of their parents or civilians moving in and out of Gazan cities on trucks piled high with families’ meager belongings, in search of safety, but also views of Hamas operatives shown as bravely resisting, though greatly outgunned and outnumbered, the Israeli war machine.

Then there is the effect of deliberate mistranslations in the English subtitles. For example, a sweet-faced boy’s Arabic is translated as “our army needs to resist the Israeli forces,” when what he actually said was “Hamas must kill the Jews.”

The BBC has also now admitted that licensing fee payments were given to the family of Al-Yazouri, who is the son of Hamas’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dr. Ayman Al-Yazouri. Pro-Israel researcher David Collier said the father and son come from the same family as Hamas founder Ibrahim Al-Yazouri. Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by both the United Kingdom and United States.

The BBC, via Hoyo Films, gave British taxpayers’ money to a family deeply linked to Hamas, that in the UK (and the US) is a designated terrorist organization. There cannot be many of these British license-fee payers who, if they only had known, would have approved of such use of their money. The BBC will not be allowed to investigate itself. That will be done by an independent commission. Complaints about anti-Israel animus at the BBC have been made, and brushed off, for decades. This time, at long last, heads — even some very powerful heads — will roll. Fiat Justitia ruat caelum.

Be better, BMJSource.

Late last year, while Biden was still (apparently) the President, the US government put out a report that somehow didn’t get much attention, a report that vindicated just about every thought we ‘COVID skeptics’ had about the scamdemic. Nothing too major, just that the lockdowns, school closures, face mask mandates, and vaccine mandates all didn’t help, and probably did more harm than good; the worth of the jabs was very much exaggerated; there was hella corruption involved; oh, and the virus probably leaked from a Chinese lab. Source.

Okay then.

Wait, what?! This is absolutely freaking huge, and will no doubt feature in many a lawsuit going forward (hi there!), how wasn’t this on the front page for every news outlet, all day, every day, for months? Russiagate dominated the news during President Trump’s first term, for years, and that was total bullshit. One reason why this didn’t get much public attention is how it has been covered by the media and the medical journals. I’ll have more to say on the report and its coverage soon, and it does align nicely with human rights organisations finally acknowledging our rights were infringed, but for now I’ll focus on how the BMJ (British Medical Journal) - one of the world’s top medical journals - reported on it. Source. Their coverage led to a rebuke (by yours truly) which they sportingly published, though only as a ‘rapid’ response, and after several months of waiting. Source. Highlights:

  • Writing for the News section of the BMJ, Dyer begins by claiming that Democrats and Republicans published “competing reports”. This is misinformation, potentially outright disinformation. There is one offical report put out by the subcommittee. Bipartisan. Passed unanimously. And effectively critical of the policies of both parties. If some of the Democrats decided to put together a much smaller, obviously partisan, and unofficial report, goody for them. You would think one of the top medical journals could get this basic fact right… Oh, and how dare they question the government! What are they, COnSPiRacY tHeoRisTs?!

  • They state that there was “no new evidence” for the lab leak hypothesis, but there was, it just wasn’t ‘direct evidence’. Dyer notes that the Democrats (via the non-official, and actually partisan, report) wonder if a hybrid scenario could be true. I note that is quite pointless as a hybrid scenario still involves a lab leak, and I remind everyone that this is all a big change from the situation early on where even thinking of a potential lab leak would see your reputation destroyed.

  • All the stuff mentioned above about how the report vindicates so many of our once unpopular opinions, which is supported by much scientific evidence, some even published/mentioned in the BMJ, is seemingly brushed off by Dyer who briefly mentions this under the heading “Politicised investigations”. Classy. They make no attempt to engage with or even mention the evidence, like the Cochrane study discussing face masks, the Johns Hopkins study on lockdowns, or the JECP4 articles on the effectiveness and safety of the jabs likely being very much exaggerated.

  • The claim that the CIA found the question over COVID’s origins “unanswerable” aged very poorly, as very soon after the “CIA acknowledged that the lab leak hypothesis is the more likely one”.

  • Reminding the BMJ of the infamous comment about COVID’s “fatality rate [being] on par with Ebola”, I hope going forward that the fine journal will report on such matters “with due care”.

Elon Musk fighting for Free Speech in at least three countries

We wrote last week about Elon Musk keeping Free Speech alive in Australia, here he is fighting for Free Speech in The USA and Canada.

Elon Musk Treads Deeper Into Canada Free Speech Debate

5/15/2024
Updated:
5/15/2024

Elon Musk’s pledge to pay the legal costs of people who suffer repercussions for speaking their minds on his X social media platform is drawing him deeper into Canada’s battle over free speech.

His platform is providing financial support for a legal appeal by a Brampton, Ont., pediatrician who was professionally rebuked for criticizing Canada’s COVID-era lockdowns. Mr. Musk is also funding a free-speech lawsuit filed by another Ontario-based doctor who had spoken out against COVID-19 health policies.
Canada now accounts for an outsized portion of Mr. Musk’s legal fight, with half of the four free-speech cases that X is currently funding globally in a push to help “people exercise their right to free speech on X -- and to also work in environments that are free from bullying, harassment, or discrimination.”
Dr. Kaur Kulvinder Gill, the pediatrician who already faced a $300,000 costs order in her battle to clear her reputation, is now also appealing a court decision that upheld three public “cautions” against her issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

“X has already confirmed funding for an appeal,” Lisa Bildy, Ms. Gill’s lawyer, told The Epoch Times in an email on May 13.

The cautions relate to posts Ms. Gill published on Twitter, now X, during the lockdowns of August 2020. The first read, “There is absolutely no medical or scientific reason for this prolonged, harmful and illogical lockdown.” The second said, “If you have not yet figured out that we don’t need a vaccine, you are not paying attention.”

X is also paying the legal costs of Dr. Matt Strauss, an Ontario critical care physician and former Queen’s University employee who spoke out on Twitter, before the platform was bought by Musk, against Canada’s COVID health policies.

“X is proud” to fund Dr. Strauss’s lawsuit against Queen’s University, the company said in a post on May 3.

The company added that after Dr. Strauss argued against widespread pandemic lockdowns and mandates on his X account, Queen’s University “publicly ostracized him, retaliated against him, and ultimately forced him to resign because his opinions did not conform to the university’s political orthodoxy.”

X supports Dr. Strauss’s efforts to vindicate his free speech rights without fear of unfair retaliation!” the company said.
Mr. Musk, who has classified his takeover of Twitter as a US$44 billion investment in free speech, has repeatedly tangled with the Canadian government over free-speech issues. Most recently, in a May 8 post, he criticized the proposed Online Harms Act as “a terrible attack on the rights of Canadians to speak freely.”
The Online Harms Act, or Bill C-63, includes provisions that could let a judge place certain restrictions on a defendant, including curfews and an electronic bracelet, for up to a year if the court believes the person may commit a future hate crime.
Besides the two cases in Canada, X is currently funding the legal battles of two Americans. One is Chloe Happe, a Missouri woman who was fired by payments processing company Block for posts on X that she said were in the form of satire. The other is actress Gina Carano, who says she was fired from the Disney television show “The Mandalorian” for a series of posts.
X had also earlier hired a lawyer for Juan David Campolargo, a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, who was disciplined and threatened with dismissal from his on-campus job for posting about free food on X. The disciplinary action was rescinded in January.

Big Pharma > Utah woman disabled after Astra-Zeneca vax trial sues; New-Onset Psychosis from Covid Vaccine

As I wrote last week, I believed AZ pulled their product from distribution because of law suits, not because of an oversupply. They can't even be honest about that.

More than 50 people have already filed a class-action lawsuit against the drug manufacturer in the UK, alleging they were left with ailments from the vaccine.

Utah mom sues AstraZeneca, claiming she was left

‘permanently disabled’ in COVID vaccine trial

Brianne Dressen, 42, was “the picture of good health” when she started the British-made vaccine’s clinical trial in 2020 — but ended up developing a severe neurological condition, the lawsuit filed Monday alleges.

“I walked into the clinic fine, and walked out the beginning of a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy,” Dressen said, per the court papers.

The former teacher developed side effects just hours after being injected with the vaccine, including arm tingles, blurred vision, a headache, ringing ears and vomiting, according to the court filing. Some of the symptoms worsened and spread to her legs before she discovered she had developed paresthesia — a neurological condition in which nerves are irritated, the suit charges.

After being hospitalized a handful of times, Dressen said, she was diagnosed with “post-vaccine neuropathy” by National Institutes of Health neurologists in 2021.

The mom of two has accused AstraZeneca of breaching its contract by failing to provide adequate compensation to cover the costs of the medical bills associated with her side effects, which she says have “skyrocketed” in the years since taking the vaccine.

She claims she had signed a consent form with the manufacturer at the beginning of the trial that said AstraZeneca would “pay the costs of medical treatment for research injuries, provided that the costs are reasonable, and you did not cause the injury yourself,” the suit says.

Dressen, however, said AstraZeneca only offered her a one-time payment of $1,243.30.

That is a “minuscule fraction of the medical bills and lost wages, among other financial costs, that Bri had incurred and will continue to incur,” the suit says.

While some of her symptoms have improved, Dressen alleges she is “still disabled” and has become a shadow of herself, is unable to work or parent the way she once did.

“I did everything they asked of me. I honored my obligations to them. They have not honored any,” Dressen said.

“When they needed me, I was there, I cooperated. When I needed them, they were nowhere to be found.”

The AstraZeneca vaccine, which never ended up being approved for use in the US, is credited with saving as many as 6 million lives globally during the pandemic, according to the University of Oxford.AP

More than 50 people have already filed a class-action lawsuit against the drug manufacturer in the UK, alleging they were left with ailments from the vaccine.

An AstraZeneca spokesperson declined to comment on Dressen’s pending litigation.

“From the body of evidence in clinical trials and real-world data, the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine has continuously been shown to have an acceptable safety profile and regulators around the world consistently state that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks of extremely rare potential side effects,” a spokesperson told Bloomberg Law in a statement.

The AstraZeneca vaccine, which never ended up being approved for use in the US, is credited with saving as many as 6 million lives globally during the pandemic, according to the University of Oxford, which partnered with the company to develop the jab.

Oxford was a partner with AZ, so their statistics have to be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Systematic Review Reveals Many COVID-19 Vaccine

Recipients Experienced New-Onset Psychosis

Only half of the patients analyzed in the review fully recovered, with the remaining half suffering from ‘residual symptoms.’

5/4/2024
Updated:
5/9/2024

Individuals who took COVID-19 vaccines were found to have later suffered from psychosis, with Pfizer and AstraZeneca shots linked to most of the cases.

The peer-reviewed systemic review, published in the Frontiers in Psychiatry journal on April 12, examined cases of new-onset psychosis among people who took the vaccines. Psychosis refers to symptoms that occur when an individual has difficulty differentiating between reality and fantasy, with hallucinations and delusions being two key types. The review looked at 21 articles describing 24 cases of psychosis symptoms following vaccination. The researchers concluded that “data suggest a potential link between young age, mRNA, and viral vector vaccines with new-onset psychosis within 7 days post-vaccination.”

“Collecting data on vaccine-related psychiatric effects is crucial for prevention, and an algorithm for monitoring and treating mental health reactions post-vaccination is necessary for comprehensive management.”

Out of the 24 cases, 13 were female. The median age of participants was 36 years. Twenty-two patients (91.2 percent) had no specific history of somatic illness and comorbidities.

Click here to watch the full documentary “The Unseen Crisis: Vaccine Stories You Were Never Told”

In 33.3 percent of the cases, administration of the Pfizer mRNA vaccine “potentially induced adverse psychiatric events,” the study said. The viral vector AstraZeneca vaccine was linked to psychotic symptoms in 25 percent of cases.

In 45.8 percent of incidences, psychotic symptoms were reported after the first shot and in fifty percent after the second dose.

“Almost all reviewed cases (95.8 percent) presented with psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations (visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile) and delusions (mostly persecutory and delusions of reference).”

The most common form of hallucination was auditory, experienced in 54.2 percent of the cases, while visual hallucinations were experienced by 12.5 percent of patients.

“Motor disturbances, such as increased or decreased motor activity and bizarre behavior, were mentioned in 83.3 percent of cases. In 3 (12.5 percent) cases, a suicidal attempt was described.”

The psychotic symptoms mostly lasted for a period of one and two months.

The patients were treated using various methods including antipsychotics and steroids, but only 12 out of the 24 made a full recovery. The remaining suffered from “residual symptoms such as decreased emotional expressions, low affect, or residual psychotic symptoms.”

In one case, the patient reported a positive COVID-19 test result. “Previous studies have shown that individuals with documented comorbidities and a history of COVID-19 infection exhibit a statistically significant increase in adverse events following vaccination,” the study noted.

Researchers speculated that inflammatory conditions following vaccination may be a reason behind the psychosis. The study found elevated C-reactive protein levels and mild to moderate leukocytosis—high white blood cell count—as the most common blood abnormalities. Both conditions have links with inflammation.

Another hypothesis suggested in the study was that post-vaccination psychosis could suggest a manifestation of autoimmune anti-NMDA encephalitis, a condition in which the immune system targets the brain neurons by mistake and causes inflammation.

Researchers noted that instances of anti-NMDA encephalitis have been repeatedly reported after vaccinations against infections like influenza, pertussis, yellow fever, and typhus.

“Considering the potential link between post-vaccination psychosis and autoimmune anti-NMDA encephalitis, it is advisable to consider immunological screening in individuals presenting psychiatric symptoms post-COVID-19 vaccination.”

A third possible reason suggested in the study is that the various speculations and uncertainties regarding the safety of COVID-19 vaccines could lead to people experiencing “significant stress,” which could end up triggering the development of psychiatric reactions.

The authors received financial support for the review, with the article-processing charge funded by Riga Stradins University, Latvia. Researchers declared no conflicts of interest in the study.

Post-Vax Psychosis Cases

Episodes of psychosis after taking COVID-19 shots have been detailed in several case studies. In one instance, a 15-year-old boy from Taiwan was sent to hospital two days after taking the second Pfizer shot. He was screaming and exhibiting agitation and uncontrollable limb stretching.

Other bizarre behaviors included sitting up and lying down frequently. The child was prescribed antipsychotics yet his behaviors continued to persist after being discharged for more than a month.

The doctors then put the boy under a steroid regimen, which is anti-inflammatory and helps calm down an overactive immune system. His symptoms then improved.

In another case from Brazil, a woman in her 30s, who was previously healthy, developed refractory psychosis within 24 hours of taking an mRNA COVID-19 shot. The woman had disorganized thoughts, was aggressive, and believed she was being persecuted at the hospital.

Even though she was treated with mood stabilizers and antipsychotics, her behavior showed improvements only after four months of hospitalization. However, her psychosis continued.

A May 2022 review described the case of an 18-year-old woman who developed psychotic symptoms on the same day she took the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine.

“Symptoms started few hours after the vaccination with irrelevant talk. Over the next three days, it progressed to irritability, delusions of persecution and reference, and visual hallucinations.”

Another case study detailed the situation of a 45-year-old woman with no family history or personal history of mental disorders who ended up developing psychosis a month after she received a COVID vaccine. She quit her 18-year-old job abruptly and displayed erratic behaviors.
