Suspected Boko Haram fighters kill 21 in fresh Niger State attacks

Suspected Boko Haram fighters launched fresh attacks in parts of Borgu and Agwara local government areas of Niger State late last night.
According to renowned security reporter and analyst Comrade Zakari Y. Adamu Kontogora, who shared the disturbing incident on his Facebook page, the attackers moved from village to village, shooting residents and setting homes on fire.
He quoted security forces who spoke to his newspaper as saying that at least 21 people were confirmed dead after the gunmen stormed the Konkoso community.
The sources added that the attackers also invaded nearby villages, including Pissa, Zango and Tungan Maƙeri. Several people were reportedly killed, while houses and shops were burnt during the raids….

“Lakurawa, a new insurgent group, operates mainly in Kebbi and Sokoto states in northwestern Nigeria, where the United States carried out strikes on Islamic State‑linked militants in December.”
Those strikes were a worthless act of face-saving for Trump after he issued threats to the Nigerian jihadis. Meanwhile, those jihadis continue their activities with impunity.

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria, Feb 19 (Reuters) – At least 34 people were killed on Tuesday when suspected Lakurawa Islamist militants launched coordinated attacks on multiple rural villages in Nigeria’s northwestern Kebbi state, a security report seen by Reuters said on Thursday.
Lakurawa, a new insurgent group, operates mainly in Kebbi and Sokoto states in northwestern Nigeria, where the United States carried out strikes on Islamic State‑linked militants in December….
The gunmen swept through villages in the remote border district, opening fire in what survivors described as highly organised, indiscriminate attacks.
The dead included 16 in Mamunu, five in Awashaka, three in Masama and two each in five other villages, the security report said.
The raid sent residents fleeing as gunmen stormed households….
Just what Nigeria needs, another band of murderous Muslims.
