ADF Kills Hundreds in Lubero, North Kivu

6/13/2025 DRC (International Christian Concern) — On June 7, the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) attacked mining areas called Angola 1 and Angola 2, located near the Lubero River in Lubero Territory, North Kivu. Many civilians, most of whom were Christians, died in the attacks, and others drowned trying to flee through the river.
“It’s hard to know exactly how many people died because there is no phone signal in the area, but I can confirm that the ADF killed hundreds,” a local leader in the Bapere area said.
These attacks are just the latest in a series of violent incidents in the region. Last month, the ADF killed more than 100 people in Bapere. The areas of Robinet, Kodjo, and Makele were affected, and many people fled to Manguredjipa for safety. About 26,360 people, including 74 indigenous pygmy families, are now displaced and living in Manguredjipa.
A leader in the Anglican Church in North Kivu spoke out against the violence and called for international help.
“The church supports the victims and calls for an end to the killings,” he said. “We ask everyone to focus on protecting civilians and bringing sustainable peace.”
Although the Congolese and Ugandan armies have a presence in the area, the ADF is still strong. Because of this, local leaders are asking for more military support….

‘How female suicide bomber killed 24 people at Borno food joint'

The Borno Police Command has explained how a female suicide bomber killed 24 people with many others injured at a food joint in Konduga Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
ASP Nahun Daso, the spokesperson for Borno Police Command said this in a statement on Saturday.
According to the police spokesperson, the suicide bomber detonated the improvised explosive device (IED) at a food joint where residents had gathered in a large number to buy food.
Daso said the body of the suicide bomber was severely dismembered by the blast, with only the head recovered from the scene….
