Canada: ISIS arrests spiking, with youths
driving the threat
The exclusive report below from Global News paints a grim and disturbing picture of what is developing in Canada, and developing rapidly. ISIS arrests are spiking, with youth driving the threat. The problem is so grave that Global News titled its report The Return of ISIS.
Recently, Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, expressed concerns about the terror risk from Canada, and warned Ottawa of “tough conversations” ahead. See HERE.
Canada didn’t suddenly descend to this point. It has been a gradual process.
ISIS jihadis were invited to return to Canada by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who not only set out a welcome mat for them in the name of “diversity and inclusion,” but praised what he claimed could be their future “contributions,” saying:
We know that actually someone who has engaged and turned out from that hateful ideology can be an extraordinarily powerful voice for preventing radicalization in future generations, and young people within the community.
Never did he stop to think about the victims of the Islamic State, nor about their future possible victims.
The woke establishment has been equating opposition to open-border policies with opposition to all immigration. Canada’s government has encouraged this bizarre thinking.
In 2018, CBN published a telling article, “Canada Becoming a Potential Base for Terrorists to Attack the US.” A year before that, it emerged that dozens of jihadis were walking free in Canada, yet authorities wouldn’t charge them. Leaked documents from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) also showed a greater threat of Islamic terror inside the country than the government was admitting.
Now the power of social media in recruiting youngsters is a growing factor:
According to police and experts, today’s ISIS devotees are younger and more immersed in social media and gaming platforms, where they are connecting with propaganda, recruiters and fellow extremists.
The Canadian government has been zealous in cracking down on online “hate,” specifically the kind that the Trudeau government thinks would contribute to “Islamophobia” or opposition to woke dogma, while it has virtually ignored the radicalization of youth.
As for America, Homan’s concerns about the growing threat from the northern border are warranted. America has a compounded problem, thanks to the Biden administration with its wide-open southern border, an open invitation to whatever jihad group or drug lord who wants to come into the U.S. and set up shop. Biden and Trudeau have much in common.
The Return of ISIS: ISIS arrests are spiking in Canada and youths are driving the resurgence
by Stewart Bell & Jeff Semple, Global News, November 18, 2024:
On June 15, 2023, police searched a Calgary home and found an ISIS flag, three knives, bomb-making instructions and ideological tracts on killing gay men.
“I’m a member of ISIS,” the owner of the materials, Zakarya Rida Hussein, had written on Snapchat as he planned an attack during the city’s month-long Pride celebrations.
“Tomorrow my mission begins. It’s pride month.”
Since then, Canadian police have disrupted ISIS-related plots in Ottawa and Toronto, and arrested a man in Quebec who allegedly planned a mass shooting in New York.
ISIS is back.
Five years after it was defeated in Syria, the ultra-violent terror group is on the rebound, and poses what a Canadian government report calls a “resurgent threat to the West.”
A Global News investigation has linked the so-called Islamic State to a surging number of investigations across Canada: Twenty suspects have been arrested this year and last, compared with just two in 2022.
During that same period, four more ISIS supporters were convicted in Canadian courts for crimes committed earlier.
Fueling the ISIS revival are youths like Hussein. Twenty-years-old when he was arrested, he is typical of the latest wave of would-be ISIS terrorists….

UPDATE: Mississauga pro-Hamas vigil honoring
Yahya Sinwar, mastermind of Oct 7, now cancelled
The pro-Hamas vigil honoring Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7 jihad massacre, that was to be held in Mississauga, Ontario has now been cancelled.
The leftist mayor of Mississauga, Carolyn Parrish, initially defended the Hamas vigil, comparing Yahya Sinwar to Nelson Mandela.
In 2022, the “Canadian Defenders 4 Human Rights” group targeted a Toronto kosher store, yelling anti-Semitic slurs, and then screamed “Islamophobia.” According to the Jerusalem Post, the group was on the hunt for “former leader of the Canadian JDL” (Jewish Defense League), Meir Weinstein, whom they were expecting to be in the kosher plaza area. Now the group has escalated to honor the jihad terrorist group Hamas and its late barbaric slain leader Sinwar.
According to the organization End Jew Hatred, Firas Al Najim is founder of Canadian Defenders 4 Human Rights. He “campaigns in support of the extremist Islamist regime of Iran, against Jews and Jewish organizations, and was charged on October 24, 2022 with driving dangerously towards a crowd of anti-Iran protesters and carrying weapons.”
