Knife attack wounds 3 at Paris's Gare de Lyon
train station, police rules out terrorism
A knife attack early on Saturday in the Gare de Lyon rail station in Paris left three people wounded, police said, ruling out terrorism at this stage.

The man, a Malian national, went on a stabbing spree at around 7:35 am (0635 GMT) at the station, which operates domestic trains as well as those heading to Switzerland and Italy.
One person suffered serious injuries to the abdomen while two others were lightly wounded, police said.
A terrorist attack has been ruled out at this stage and an enquiry launched.
Police arrested the suspected attacker, who showed signs of mental disorders, Paris police chief Laurent Nunes told reporters. "We found medicine on him which suggests he was undergoing treatment."
All radicalized Muslims have a mental disorder. Why are the French too blind to see that?
The attacker, who carried Italian residence permits and was in France legally, attacked travellers with a knife and hammer. French media said he was originally from Mali, but Nunes did not confirm the reports.
Passers-by overpowered the man before railway police arrived on the scene, the police source said.
"A thank you to those who overpowered the man who carried out this unbearable act," said Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin on X, formerly Twitter.
The assault took place less than six months before Paris hosts the 2024 Olympics and and an expected 15 million visitors.
Each year more than 100 million passengers go through the Gare de Lyon, France's biggest mainline rail hub.
The area between halls one and three were temporarily inaccessible, rail operator SNCF said on X, formerly Twitter.
Services to the Paris region were delayed, the SNCF said, referring only to "an act of criminal intent".

The thirty-year-old did not make any comments of a terrorist nature either during his bloody journey or during his arrest. He also seems unknown to the intelligence services. However, during his hearing, he criticized France’s colonial past and its involvement in Mali, where he is from.
According to information from Le Parisien, the suspect is also unknown to the anti-terrorism services in Italy. “As we speak, there are no elements to suggest that this is a terrorist act,” commented Laurent Nuñez from Lyon station this Saturday morning. However, investigators urge caution as the investigation has barely begun. And because Salafist content has since been discovered on his TikTok account, which is currently being analyzed.
“The hearings are continuing and the examination of his mental state will be carried out. At this stage, the motivations of the accused are not known,” indicates the Paris prosecutor’s office.
Sweden investigating dangerous object
left at Israeli embassy as 'terrorist crime'
Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Swedish authorities said on Friday they have upgraded the classification of an investigation into an object found at the Israeli embassy on Wednesday in Stockholm to a terrorist crime.
The country's Police Authority said they found what was described as a "dangerous object" at the embassy but has released few details. Since then, the investigation has been taken over by Sweden's national Security Police, according to a translated statement.
"The prosecutor has decided that the criminal classification for the suspected crime is changed to terrorist crime through a grossly illegal threat and attempts to cause public destruction," Security Police said in a statement.
"Due to the confidentiality of the preliminary investigation, the Security Police and the preliminary investigation manager are currently unable to comment further on the case."
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called the situation "very serious" as the local bomb squad was called out to destroy the object outside of the embassy.
"Today we were subject to an attempted attack against the Embassy of Israel in Stockholm and its employees," Ziv Nevo Kulman, Israel's ambassador to Sweden, said on X. "We thank the Swedish authorities for their swift response. We will not be intimidated by terror."
Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch called out the incident on social media as well.
"Shaken by the information about the attack on the Israeli embassy," Busch said on X. "The hatred against Israel is frightening. Violent extremism must be stopped."
Police started an investigation that included the examination of local security cameras in the area to find out who placed the object outside of the embassy.
Manhunt underway in London for suspect who
attacked mother, daughters with alkaline
Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A manhunt is underway in London for a suspect who attacked a mother and her children with a corrosive substance in the city earlier this week.
The Metropolitan Police on Thursday evening released a photo of the suspect who has been identified as Abdul Shokoor Ezedi. The image was taken at a Tesco store shortly before 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, a little more than an hour after he is accused of attacking the woman and her two daughters following a traffic accident in Clapham, South London.
He is accused of throwing one of the children to the ground and of dousing them in a corrosive substance that has since been determined to be alkaline. Three women and a man in his 50s who came to their aid were also injured along with five responding police officers.
Ezedi attempted to flee the scene in a car but crashed into a stationary vehicle, and escaped on foot.
The image of Ezedi shows what The Met described as "significant injuries" to his right eye and face.
Ezedi is believed to have purchased a bottle of water before leaving the store, the police statement said.
"If you see Ezedi, call 999 immediately," it said, referring to Britain's emergency telephone number. "He should NOT be approached."
The Met's Superintendent Gabriel Cameron earlier Thursday said the 31-year-old mother and her 8-year-old and 3-year-old daughters remain hospitalized, and while their injuries are not life-threatening those suffered by the mother and her youngest child "could be life-changing."
"It may be some time before hospital staff are able to say how serious that might be," he said.
The three injured woman, two of whom are in their 30s and one in her 50s, have since been discharged from the hospital with only minor burns, he said, adding that the five officers have also been treated and released.
The man who was also injured had declined hospital treatment, he said.
Cameron revealed Thursday that it is believed that the suspect and the mother are known to each other, and that the attack appears to have been "targeted."
"He is a dangerous individual and we urgently need to find him," he said.
"I don't underestimate the impact this news will have had on the local community. My officers are in the area carrying out patrols and I urge you to speak to them if you have any information or concerns you want to share."
Was it terrorism? It seems unlikely, but rather an example of Islamic Hysteria. Or, it may have been something personal. Muslim men are so easily triggered.
UK: Muslim who attacked women with acid granted
asylum three years after sex assault conviction
One might almost get the impression that British authorities want to encourage Muslim rape gang activity in the country. Perhaps they hoped to capitalize upon the instability that would thus have been created in order to justify authoritarian measures. There are certainly precedents. Instead, however, the vast majority of the British people, lied to relentlessly about the Muslim rape gangs, remained blissfully ignorant of their activities, and there was no instability.
Britain is, as you well know, finished.
Meanwhile, note Abdul Shakoor Ezedi’s comversion to Christianity, faked in order to buttress his asylum claim. Anyone who might have pointed out that Muhammad said “War is deceit” and that jihad groups have encouraged jihadis to feign conversion to Christianity in order to allay suspicions in the West would have been excoriated as “Islamophobic.”
And so, this.
Abdul Shakoor Ezedi is still on the run after throwing an alkaline substance at a mother and two daughters
London chemical attacker used a PRIEST to win asylum bid after twice being rejected
by Jack Walters, GB News, February 2, 2024:
A 35-year-old refugee suspected of carrying out Clapham’s chemical attack was granted asylum on his third attempt after obtaining a reference from a local priest, GB News has been told.
Abdul Shakoor Ezedi converted to Christianity after his first asylum bid failed.
The convicted sex offender, who arrived illegally in the UK in the back of a lorry in 2016, was twice denied asylum.
However, GB News understands the Afghan’s third asylum claim was approved after a priest provided a reference following his conversion.
The priest vouched for his conversion and argued he was “wholly committed” to his new religion….
Ezedi was granted asylum at least three years after he was convicted of “sexual assault/exposure” in 2018.
He was discharged from probation supervision after only receiving a suspended sentence in 2020….
Police released an image of the 35-year-old taken an hour after the attack on the other side of London with his face visibly disfigured….
“The image shows Ezedi with what appears to be significant injuries to the right side of his face. This makes him distinctive….
