Antisemitism > Another Jewish school shot up in Toronto; Terrorist Group, Samidoun, finally listed as terrorist group in Canada

Canada: ‘This is terrorism’: Shots fired at Toronto Jewish

elementary school on morning of Yom Kippur

The perpetrator may have been a leftist. He may have been a jihadi. He may have been both. In any case, we know that his hatred for Jews has been ginned up over the past year with an inundation of pro-jihad propaganda, often disseminated by supposedly respectable “news” outlets. In any case, the children who attend this school have nothing to do with Israeli foreign policy. This is the genocidal imperative in microcosm.

‘This is terrorism’: Shots fired at Jewish elementary school in Toronto on morning of Yom Kippur

by Courtney Greenberg, National Post,

October 12, 2024:

Shots were fired at a Jewish elementary school in Toronto on Saturday, on the morning of Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day of the year.

According to police, the incident occurred just after 4 a.m. near the school, located at Dufferin St. and Finch Ave. A motor vehicle “discharged a firearm at the Bais Chaya Mushka Elementary School,” police said in a post on X.

Police found evidence of gunfire at the scene. It was not known how many suspects were in the vehicle.

The school was empty when a window was smashed after being hit by a bullet, according to Insp. Paul Krawczyk, the Canadian Press reported. There were no injuries. Police will continue to have an increased presence in the area, he said.

“We understand the fear and pain this causes, especially on Yom Kippur,” police said in another post on X Saturday afternoon. “To Toronto’s Jewish community: We stand with you.”

Police urged residents to share any relevant videos or dash-cam footage of the area with authorities.

Michael Westcott, CEO of Allies for a Strong Canada, said in a statement to the National Post over email that the incident was the “latest in a long string of violent, hateful attacks on institutions in the Jewish community.”…

Samidoun, group behind ‘death to Canada’ chant,

listed as terrorist entity

Canada has listed Samidoun, a pro-Palestinian group behind a rally where people chanted “death to Canada” and burned the Canadian flag in Vancouver earlier this month, as a terrorist entity.

Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc made the announcement on Tuesday and noted that the listing was made alongside the U.S. Treasury Department’s own decision to list the group as a specially designated global terrorist entity.

“Violent extremism, acts of terrorism or terrorist financing have no place in Canadian society or abroad,” LeBlanc said in a statement.

“The listing of Samidoun as a terrorist entity under the Criminal Code sends a strong message that Canada will not tolerate this type of activity, and will do everything in its power to counter the ongoing threat to Canada’s national security and all people in Canada.”

Samidoun has been previously listed as a terrorist entity by Germany and the Netherlands and, in a release, Public Safety Canada, said the group has “close links with and advances the interests of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

That group is also listed as a terrorist entity by Canada, the U.S. and European Union.

Being a listed terrorist entity carries severe consequences. It is illegal to contribute to any activity of a listed group, and its property can be seized and forfeited.

The listing comes just over a week after MPs in the House of Commons condemned the group after supporters chanted “death to Canada, death to the United States and death to Israel” and burned the Canadian flag at a rally in Vancouver.

The masked speaker at that rally who uttered the chant over a microphone also told the crowd “we are Hezbollah and we are Hamas.”

Both Hamas and Hezbollah are listed as terrorist entities.

The Conservatives during question period last Tuesday called on the federal government to list Samidoun as a terrorist organization.

“Samidoun has been fomenting these violent and horrific protests and mob actions, this organization is a front for an already banned terrorist group,” Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said last week.

Vancouver Police say they are also conducting an investigation into the pro-Palestinian rally in which the chant and flag burning took place, where law enforcement say speakers expressed “solidarity with terrorist groups.”

The police force has previously investigated Samidoun, having arrested its director Charlotte Kates last year in a hate-crime investigation. She was released from custody on an undertaking, but the hearing which she was to appear at was cancelled, and her court-ordered conditions along with it.

And Canadian media is not interested in finding out why.

B.C. Premier David Eby, who previously condemned the chants made at the pro-Palestinian rally, said in a statement Tuesday that he agreed with the designation as it gives authorities more tools to take action against the group.

He went on to say there has been a “disturbing rise” in antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas on Israel which killed 1,200 people.

“There is no place in British Columbia for groups inciting and glorifying violence,” Eby said.

Right. That's why B.C. is home to the global Khalistan movement responsible for Canada's worst air disaster - Air India Flight 182. And it is why we have a political disaster happening with India right now.

Islamization in Canada > ISIS supporters shoot entire family of Druze in Mississauga; Early morning shots fired at Jewish El. School in Toronto

Ontario shooting motivated by victim’s

alleged betrayal of ISIS supporters: Crown

A fatal shooting at a Mississauga, Ont., chicken restaurant in May 2021 was allegedly motivated by the accused trying to stop the victim from telling police that a group of men he was in business with had pledged allegiance to ISIS.

That’s what Assistant Crown Attorney David D’Iorio told the jury in his opening address at the Brampton Superior Courthouse this week.

On the evening of May 29, 2021, 22-year-old Daniel Akl was working at the front counter of his family’s Chicken Land restaurant at the corner of Glen Erin and The Collegeway in Mississauga. Akl’s parents had been operating the takeout restaurant for nearly three decades. Along with Daniel, his parents, his brother Naim, his teenage sister Sandra and a friend of the family, Rohullah Rawi, were all hard at work.

Just after 7:15 p.m., a hooded masked man entered through the front door of Chicken Land, pulled a handgun out of a satchel he was carrying and shot Daniel in the neck. Rawi was shot on the right side of the head. Naim was shot twice, once in the face and once in the left ear – his wounds were fatal. The mother was shot in the upper right arm, and the father was hit in the chest. Sandra was also fired at, but the bullet missed her.

D’Iorio told the jury that after firing seven shots, the gunman fled to a getaway car waiting just down the street. The shooter got into the trunk of that car before the driver sped off.

By the time first responders arrived, Naim was dead. None of the survivors were able to identify the gunman.

D’Iorio said Naqash Abbasi, Suliman Raza and Anand Nath are guilty of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted murder.

The Crown alleges that Naim Akl met and befriended a group of men who claimed to be devout followers of the Islamic faith. The leader was Abassi and his followers included Raza and Nath.

D’Iorio said Naim didn’t tell his family he had converted to Islam, from the Druze faith, and began working at Abbasi’s warehouse business with Raza and Nath. The warehouse was known as a Fulfillment by Amazon or an FBA business.

Inside the business, which was known as “Tryalinc,” the Crown says, they weren’t just buying and selling products through Amazon.

“Mr. Abbasi and his followers had pledged allegiance to ISIS, the Islamic State, and he was using the business to finance that organization. Money was being sent ‘back home’ to further that cause,” said D’Iorio.

The Crown says Naim became aware that Abassi and his group had pledged allegiance to ISIS. After a falling out over the business, Naim was planning to go to the authorities and to betray them.

“So they came up with a plan to prevent that from happening. Naim Akl and his whole family would be killed,” D’Iorio explained.

The Crown said they will prove that Abassi actively encouraged Raza and Nath to commit the crimes. Raza was the driver and Nath was the gunman whose plan was to kill every person in the restaurant.

All three men have pleaded not guilty.

The trial continues.

Shots fired at Jewish girls elementary school

in Toronto

May 25, 2024

No injuries were reported, although there was clear evidence of gunfire.

By Vered Weiss, World Israel News

Police are currently searching for two suspects who fired a weapon outside of a Jewish girls elementary school in Toronto at 5 am on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at Beis Chaya Mushka school at Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue West in North York, Toronto.

No injuries were reported, although there was clear evidence of gunfire.

The two suspects arrived in a vehicle and shot at the school shortly before 5 am.

A surge in antisemitism is fueling a rise in the number of hate crimes in Canada’s largest city, according to data collected by the Toronto Police Department.

In March, Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw provided an update on hate crimes in the city, revealing that the Jewish community remains the group most targeted by hate crimes in Toronto.

Not only are Jews the most targeted group for hate crimes in the city, an absolute majority of hate crimes in Toronto targeted Jews.
