Turkey in the Middle East Wars > Is Erdogan beginning to rouse his people for war?

Does Erdogan see an opening to begin reassembling the Ottoman Empire under his Caliphate?

Erdogan ally says Aleppo is ‘Turkish

and Muslim to its very marrow’

Erdogan's ally, and the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahceli, declares that Aleppo "is Turkish and Muslim to its very marrow. It is not just us who says so, history says so, geography says so. The Turkish flag that was hoisted over Aleppo citadel says so." Bahceli thinks so because he’s a Muslim who has an Islamic “understanding” of history and geography. According to Islam, all history is in fact Islamic history, and that all major figures of ancient history basically are Muslim - including Adam, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus. This Islamic concept could be called the “Islamization of history”. Through "Islamization of history," there is also an "Islamization of geography," explains Professor Moshe Sharon: "Anywhere which was connected with these people or with these prophets who were all Muslims becomes a Muslim territory. And therefore, when Islam was not in that area before Mohammed came to it, it should have been there. By that area, I mean the Middle East or other parts outside of the Middle East which are now Muslim. So any place like this had to be freed, not to be conquered. They had to be liberated. So, Islam appeared in history in the time of Mohammed -- or reappeared in history from their point of view -- as a liberator. And therefore, there is no Islamic occupation. If somebody occupies anything, it will always be somebody else, not the Muslims. So, there is no Islamic occupation. There is only Islamic liberation."

Turkish Muslim preacher: “The Prophet said:

‘Allah commands of you…to wage jihad'”

Osman Akın clearly has violent jihad in mind, as he refers to the “disbelievers” supposedly having “struck” the Muslims repeatedly. Will any of the Muslim spokesmen in the West kindly undertake to refute Osman Akın’s understanding of jihad, and explain to him the true, peaceful Islam? No? And why not?

Turkish Pro-ISIS Preacher Osman Akın, Following His Release From Prison: Allah Commands Us To Wage Jihad; The Disbelievers Attack Muslims Again And Again, We Do Not Accept This

MEMRI, November 4, 2024:

On November 4, 2024, the Ahlak ve Sünnet Magazine YouTube channel uploaded a video of a sermon delivered by pro-ISIS Turkish preacher Osman Akın, also known as Mamoste Osman El-Kurdi. Akın had been arrested in May 2023 during an anti-ISIS crackdown by Turkish authorities, and he was released from prison in May 2024. During his sermon, Akın said that Allah has commanded the Muslims to wage Jihad, he condemned the disbelievers for attacking Muslim societies, and he condemned Muslims who work alongside these disbelievers.

Osman Akın: “We remain today at the same point we were at when this [criminal] case [against me] began. Whatever our creed was, our thought, our ideas, our method… Whatever we said yesterday, we today repeat those same things, and we say them clearly.

[…]

The Prophet [Muhammad] said: ‘I am commanding you five things that Allah commands of you: one, to hear; two, to obey; three, to be a congregation; four, to make hijra; and five, to wage jihad.’

[…]

“We have gone through a difficult process. The disbelievers have struck us again, and again, and again. We cannot accept this. We cannot accept, simultaneously and parallel with the disbelievers, the striking of Muslims. When the disbeliever are attacking the Muslims this much, and you consider yourself a Muslim and say ‘I am a Muslim’ – how is it that you are [working] in parallel with the disbeliever? Why are you, along with the disbelievers, trying to strike a Muslim society?

[…]

“We do not think with good intentions about those who strike Muslims alongside the disbelievers. Nor do we see good intentions there.”
