Knesset member to Canadian FM Joly after arms embargo
vote in parliament: Canada is ‘appeasing radical elements’
Member of Knesset Dan Illouz sent a letter to Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, saying that a Canadian arms embargo on Israel “sends a dangerous signal to the world that Canada is willing to sideline a democratic ally in favor of appeasing radical elements.” But the letter will likely fall on deaf ears.
Joly announced that she intends to “uphold a non-binding motion the Canadian Parliament passed on Monday night calling for a halt to arms exports to Israel in light of the Gaza war.”
Here’s how the voting went:
The motion was ultimately passed, being supported by the entire NDP caucus, the Bloc Quebecois and the Green Party.
Most Liberal MPs also voted in favour, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly.
This is another slap in the face to Israel and to Jews worldwide, given how shamefully Canada has acted on the global front toward both Jews and Israel. The question to ponder is why. Some recent examples:
- Jewish ritual slaughter banned while seal clubbing, Muslim ritual slaughter continue;
- Melanie Joly responded to accusations of Israeli sexual violence: “We believe Palestinian women”;
- Joly posted a photo of herself holding hands with Mahmoud Abbas;
- Prime Minister Trudeau said “no decision” had been made on UNRWA funding, yet he never actually stopped it, despite announcing a pause.
What could be in store next?
’Rewarding terrorism’: Jewish Canadians slam
‘arms embargo’ on Israel
by Michael Starr and Tovah Lazaroff, Jerusalem Post, March 20, 2024:
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs wrote on social media that instead of Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly’s confirmation that Canada would continue not to trade arms with Israel.
Israeli politicians and Jewish Canadian groups lashed out at Ottawa’s decision to halt arms sales to the Jewish state, with some fearing that it could cause a dangerous domino effect.
The move “sends a dangerous signal to the world that Canada is willing to sideline a democratic ally in favor of appeasing radical elements,” wrote MK Dan Illouz in a letter he sent to Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly.…
In 2008, I told the Men's group at my church that western powers would abandon Israel during this decade, leaving it vulnerable to invasion by Islam. If the hapless Biden follows the godless Trudeau and cuts of weapons supplies to Israel, it will take a matter of days or weeks before Israel is invaded by Turkey and a host of other Islamic countries, possibly including Russia. Such a cataclysmic invasion could happen this very year. If it does, look for Jesus to return around 2030, and Justice to be meted out to the godless.
