in major anti-terror operation
ANI, November 9, 2023:
Police in Spain arrested 14 Pakistan-origin individuals and busted a suspected jihadist network based in the country, Euro Weekly News reported.
The arrests were made as part of an operation initiated by Spain’s General Information Commissioner’s Office after the anti-terrorist alert level was raised in the country following Hamas’ attack on Israel a month ago. Spanish Security Forces redoubled surveillance on suspects in order to avoid possible attacks, Euro Weekly News reported.
All of the detainees were of Pakistani origin and are said to have lived in Catalonia, Valencia, Guipuzcoa, Vitoria, Logrono and Lleida, according to Euro Weekly News, the largest English newspaper in Spain.
Police sources confirmed the arrests to La Razon, a local daily. Those arrested will be reportedly produced in court on Wednesday (local time).
Euro Weekly News reported that it is believed that these individuals formed a network in which jihadist messages and a high degree of radicalisation were transmitted online.
David Atherton, a journalist at The European Conservative posted on social media app X stating that these 14 Pakistani jihadists are linked to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) an Islamic extremist political party in Pakistan.

translated from “‘Sale juive, je vais te tuer’: une femme agressée à son domicile à Six-Fours,” Var Matin, November 9, 2023
This Wednesday evening while returning home to Six-Fours, after an evening spent with friends at the Sanary casino, a 49-year-old woman of Jewish faith was the victim of an attack of an anti-Semitic nature, according to the facts reported in his statement of complaint, of which we are aware. The victim describes being followed by an unknown person when returning to his(her) residence, Boulevard des Ecoles. She was even less suspicious because, she explains, seasonal workers are regularly accommodated in an apartment located on her landing. She specifies that she did not win anything at the casino. “I went up the stairs, him behind me; I opened my door and the man pushed me inside my home. He gave me a violent slap then he insulted me in these words: “Dirty Jew, I’m going to kill you,” then he added “Allahu akbar,” she reports.
“I thought he was going to massacre me”
Her attacker then allegedly ordered her to throw away her mezuzas (objects of Jewish worship hung at the entrance to the home), which she had exceptionally placed inside her home, on the advice of her ex-partner, after the attacks of October 7 in Israel… ”He also dropped the photos of my children. He trampled on them, then he brushed me to make me fall. I was very scared, I thought he was going to massacre me,” she testifies. To the police officer who received her, she said she was unable to scream or call for help: “I was petrified.” The individual then grabbed cash present in the entrance and allegedly said, before fleeing: “The next time I come back, I will kill you.”
An investigation, entrusted to the Toulon judicial police, was opened for “theft by trickery in a residential premises accompanied by violence committed because of the religion of the victim.”
