ISIS ‘Beatle’ back in UK days after being released from Turkish jail

– will he be charged with terror offences?

A BRIT said to have belonged to the IS beheading gang dubbed The Beatles will be back on UK soil in days.

Aine Davis, 38, has been deported from Turkey after serving 7½ years for terror offences and is due in Britain by the end of the week.

Counter-terror cops are set to arrest him on arrival and quiz him over his activities in Syria. He could then face charges.

If freed, he will pose a major challenge to police and spooks as one of the highest-profile terror Brits to return from Syria.

Davis, of Hammersmith, West London, and three other Brits in the IS execution squad, were said to have murdered 27 hostages.

Captives dubbed them The Beatles for their English accents, calling them John, George, Ringo and Paul — Davis’s nickname.

Victims were beheaded on film by Mohamed Emwazi, 27 — Jihadi John, who was killed in a US drone strike in Syria in 2015.

The other gang members — Alexanda Kotey, 38, who was dubbed Jihadi George and El Shafee Elsheikh, 34, known as Jihadi Ringo — were jailed for life in the US in April.

Among those they killed were British aid workers David Haines, 44, Alan Henning, 47, and two US journalists.

Prof Ian Acheson, advisor to the Counter Extremism Project, said: “We must take responsibility for our own citizens suspected of serious terrorist offences overseas.

“They need to be returned to this county and held accountable in our courts for their crimes and, if convicted, serve sentences here.

“We can and should use all legal methods at our disposal to send people from this country who travel abroad to commit acts of violent extremism to jail for a very long time."

UK: Convicted Islamic jihad terrorists refuse to participate

in prison ‘deradicalization’ programs

How absurd it is that these programs are optional. They should be mandatory before jihadi prisoners can be released back into the society they want so much to destroy.

“Deradicalization” programs are a joke to begin with. They don’t work. But in this case, that’s beside the point. The apparent fact that British authorities don’t dare to require these jihadis to participate in their programs is an indication of the weakness and impotence of the British state in the face of the advancing jihad.

“Convicted Islamic terrorists ‘refusing’ to be deradicalised in UK prisons”

by Aden-Jay Wood, GBN,
August 9, 2022:

Convicted Islamic terrorists are refusing to be deradicalised in UK prisons, an investigation has revealed.

The investigation, carried out by chief inspector of prisons Charlie Taylor, found that almost all Islamic terrorists being held in separation units at UK prisons “refused to take part in purposeful activity”.

The report said that prisoners at the units, which are used to stop people radicalising others, are not willing to take part in education sessions.

It said: “Almost all prisoners refused to take part in purposeful activity, complete offending behaviour work or engage with others such as imams and psychologists.”

Following their refusal to take part in the sessions, prisoners have had limited “day-to-day interactions” with staff, with some staying in their cells for up to 22 hours a day.

This also led to a “lack of trust” in staff, which has “further impeded interactions,” the report added.

Prisoners were also offered two deradicalisation programmes but “given their well-established religious and political beliefs and the potential peer pressure from their fellows, this was too big a step for most prisoners.”

The report continued: “The expectation that men should address their offending behaviour by completing a formal intervention aimed at deradicalising their beliefs was proving unrealistic,” as quoted by The Telegraph.

Mr Taylor called on prison officers to set more “realistic and achievable” targets in order to help the terrorists “take smaller steps towards progression and behaviour change”.

WATCH AS MISFIRED ROCKET FROM TERRORISTS LANDS IN GAZA

Israel Unwired

When Arabs from Gaza shoot more than a thousand missiles at Israel, the anti-Israel haters mobilize to accuse Israel of shooting mercilessly at innocent Arabs. Note – The Arabs are shooting from the exact part of Israel where Israel destroyed more than ten Jewish communities in order to build an Arab State. But, this time, like nearly every time the Arabs attack Israel, they also attack their own by mistake. This time, it was captured on camera.

Are the attackers always responsible for the counterattacks? Is there no merit to the anti-Israel argument that Israel fights back disproportionately? The two questions are valid.

First of all, yes – those who attack are responsible for the counterattacks. But yes – even if a counterattack is justified, that does not justify anything and everything that is done. But Israel is always accused of being the Goliath hitting the poor unarmed Arabs too hard.

The truth is that the Arabs who shoot missiles at Israel strategically place their missile launchers smack in the middle of civilian populations. That of course leads Israel to retaliate and occasionally kill non-belligerents. But Israel and no other country should ever be accused of retaliation. The aggressors are the guilty party.

As for Israel’s responses being disproportionate, that is exactly the right strategy for all defenders of freedom to use against the dangerous attackers. Nothing provides a more lasting peace than a disproportionate response that scares the aggressors into submission. It is time for Israel and other countries to say this loud and clear. For every missile shot, Israel will respond with one hundred. It SHOULD be completely disproportionate in order to make the terrorists think ten times before firing at Israel.

Palestinian gunman wounds 8 in late-night Jerusalem shooting

Israeli police crime scene investigators work at the scene of a shooting attack that wounded several Israelis near the Old City of Jerusalem, early Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022. JERUSALEM (AP) A Palestinian gunman opened fire at a bus near Jerusalem’s Old City early Sunday, wounding eight Israelis in an attack that came a week after violence flared up between Israel and militants in Gaza, police and medics said.

Two of the victims were in serious condition, including a pregnant woman with abdominal injuries and a man with gunshot wounds to the head and neck, according to Israeli hospitals treating them.

The U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Tom Nides, tweeted that there were American citizens among the wounded. An embassy spokesperson disclosed no other information or details.

Apparently, 5 of the 8 victims were Americans.

The shooting happened as the bus waited in a parking lot near David’s Tomb on Mount Zion, just outside the Old City walls. Israeli media identified the suspected attacker as a 26-year-old Palestinian from east Jerusalem.

Israeli police said forces were dispatched to the scene to investigate. Israeli security forces also pushed into the nearby Palestinian neighborhood of Silwan pursuing the suspected attacker.

Later on Sunday, police said the suspected attacker turned himself in. Speaking at a meeting of his Cabinet on Sunday, Israeli Prime Mnister Yair Lapid said the suspected attacker was a resident of Jerusalem who was operating alone during the shooting and who had previously been arrested by Israel.

In New York, friends and family of a father and son were relieved that their loved ones were recovering, even as worry surrounded the fate of a pregnant Brooklyn woman who was shot in the abdomen.

“It’s very devastating and painful to see what’s happening,” said Rabbi Moishe Indig, a leader of the Satmar Jewish community in Brooklyn, who counted the father and son as members.

The focus is on prayer and healing, said Isaac Abraham, a relative of the two.

The attack in Jerusalem followed a tense week between Israel and Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Last weekend, Israeli aircraft unleashed an offensive in the Gaza Strip targeting the militant group Islamic Jihad and setting off three days of fierce cross-border fighting. Islamic Jihad fired hundreds of rockets during the flare-up to avenge the airstrikes, which killed two of its commanders and other militants. Israel said the attack was meant to thwart threats from the group to respond to the arrest of one of its officials in the occupied West Bank.

Forty-nine Palestinians, including 17 children and 14 militants, were killed, and several hundred were injured in the fighting, which ended with an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire. No Israeli was killed or seriously injured.

The Islamic militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza, stayed on the sidelines.

A day after the cease-fire halted the worst round of Gaza fighting in more than a year, Israeli troops killed three Palestinian militants and wounded dozens in a shootout that erupted during an arrest raid in the West Bank city of Nablus.

New Mexico: Sunni Muslim suspected of murdering Shi’ites

is well-known in Muslim community

AUG 13, 2022 4:00 PM
BY ROBERT SPENCER

Here again we see it: Muhammad Syed was moderate until he started killing people. He was an ordinary Muslim who became an “Islamist” when he opened fire. And while the community is shocked, no one will explain, or be asked to explain, why the Sunni-Shi’ite animus could move someone to kill. To search for the roots of these shootings in the texts and teachings of Islam would be dismissed out of hand as “Islamophobic.” And so nothing effective will be done to try to prevent this sort of thing from recurring. That is why there will certainly be more killings of this kind, someday, in the U.S.

Fear turns to shock among Albuquerque Muslims

as police say the shooter is a Muslim

by Becky Sullivan, NPR,
August 10, 2022:

The killings of four Muslim men in Albuquerque had already shaken the city’s small Muslim community, prompting businesses to close and residents to temporarily move away amid fears of a deadly spate of Islamophobic hate crimes.

Then came Tuesday’s news: The suspect, police say, is a 51-year-old man named Muhammad Syed, who is Muslim himself and whose motive may have been related to “interpersonal conflict.”

“You would expect that learning that a suspect is found and has been detained, it would feel like a breath of relief,” said Leena Aggad, the 23-year-old vice president of the University of New Mexico’s Muslim Student Association.

Instead, she said, news of the arrest felt “like another chain was placed on my heart.”

This is the consequence of actually believing that Islam is a Religion of Peace. Reality smacks you in the face.

The suspect is well-known in the Muslim community

Syed is well-known to the Muslim community in Albuquerque, multiple people told NPR. He regularly came to the same mosque that the victims had attended.

“For months, this guy was praying next to other members of the community as if everything was normal,” Aggad said. “It shocks you.”

Syed has been charged in two of the four deaths, and police say he is the primary suspect in the other two killings. He was arrested during a traffic stop more than 100 miles from Albuquerque, authorities said Tuesday.

In a conversation with officers, Syed denied connection to the shootings. According to the criminal complaint, a gun recovered from his home matched bullet casings found at the crime scenes.

Police are working to determine a motive for the killings

Some reports have suggested the possibility that Syed, a Sunni Muslim, had targeted his victims over anger that his daughter had married a Shia Muslim. Authorities said Tuesday they are still working to determine the motive. (“Detectives discovered evidence that shows the offender knew the victims to some extent and an interpersonal conflict may have led to the shootings,” a police statement said.)

The suspect had lived in New Mexico for several years after immigrating from Afghanistan.
