Honour Killings in Austria - Wife and Toddler Murdered

Austria: Muslim migrant stabs his wife and 2-y/o child to death,
tries to smother baby, in honor killings
BY ROBERT SPENCER Jihad Watch

Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. The Palestinian Authority gives pardons or suspended sentences for honor murders. Iraqi women have asked for tougher sentences for Islamic honor murderers, who get off lightly now. Syria in 2009 scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but “the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour ‘provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing.’” And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”

Until the encouragement Islamic law gives to honor killing is acknowledged and confronted, more women will suffer.

“Double murder in Kottingbrunn: “Austro-Turk’ confesses”

Translated from “Doppelmord in Kottingbrunn: ‘Austro-Türke’ geständig,”
Wochenblick, October 27, 2019 (thanks to Searchlight Germany):

On Sunday, shortly before 9 o’clock in the morning, the alleged perpetrator himself called the emergency hotline. He had murdered his family. A large contingent of officials raced to the specified address. There was a shocking picture. A 31-year-old man, who according to the newspaper “Heute” had a Turkish immigrant background, had stabbed his wife and child. His second child survived, but is likely to be injured as well.

The crime occurred in a terraced house on Emmerich-Kalman-Gasse in Kottingbrunn, Lower Austria. There, the alleged perpetrator had murdered his 23-year-old wife and a two-year-old toddler with numerous stab wounds. The puncture and cut injuries were so severe that no medical help was possible. The father of the family tried to suffocate his little son, who is only 11 months old. He survived the act, but has had great problems breathing. He was taken to the hospital by emergency ambulance.

The 31-year-old “Austro-Turk” was arrested without resistance by the police. The history of the terrible relationship should be clarified in the next few hours and days….

Tlaib Blames Israel for Palestinian Muslim Honor Killings

By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz
Breaking News Israel

“Keep far from a false charge; do not bring death on those who are innocent and in the right, for I will not acquit the wrongdoer.” Exodus 23:7 (The Israel Bible™)

A young Palestinian woman was brutally murdered in an honor killing and true to form,
Congressman Rashida Tlaib does not blame the fists that beat the young woman to death but,
rather the Israeli “occupation” that compels Palestinians to murder.

Femicide: Killed for an Instagram Post

Israa Ghrayeb, a 21-year-old Palestinian resident of Bethlehem, died last week amid conflicting reports of how she died. Israa was killed in her hospital bed after receiving treatment for a spinal injury she sustained jumping off the balcony of her family home, reportedly while fleeing male relatives. Her family insists that she died of a heart attack but in a video recorded outside her hospital room her screams and the shouts of her attackers are clearly heard.

Other sources, most notably the Palestinian Human Rights organization Adalah Justice Project, are claiming Israa was tortured and beaten to death by her male relatives in a case of femicide, or, as it is more commonly known an honor killing.

Israa’s crime was posting an Instagram video showing her with her fiancé. Among the family members named in the reports as responsible for Israa’s death is her brother, Ihab, who attends college in Canada.

Apparently, being alone with your fiance is against Sharia.

Tlaib Cites Article: Honor Killing Not Muslim or Arab But Caused by Israel

Congressman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) posted a tweet decrying the murder.

Rashida Tlaib✔
@RashidaTlaib
"Isra’s death illustrates an ever-present toxic masculinity and control over women’s bodies and lives."

Help get #JusticeforIsraa by exposing the truth: https://baby-fist.com/get-inspired/isra-gharibs-murder-exposes-stories-of-power-we-cant-ignore …

Her tweet linked to the Palestinian feminist website Babyfist. The article was prefaced by a disclaimer about honor killings, more accurately referred to as femicide:

Honor killings are not Muslim and they are not Arab. This is a universal phenomenon which takes places in nearly all corners of the globe, from the United States to Europe. The US president stands accused of rape. Honor killings were legal in Italy until the 1970s and still happen today. Do not use this narrative to reinforce dangerous stereotypes of Arab culture and Islam. Patriarchy exists every where.

Though technically correct, the disclaimer is a lie. According to Haaretz, 11 Palestinian women in the West Bank and nine in the Gaza Strip were suspected victims of femicide last year. Social pressure on families prevents accurate reporting. In North America, a study of 172 honor killing incidents worldwide involving 230 victims, 91 percent of the perpetrators were Muslims. In North America, 84 percent of the killers were Muslim. In Europe, Muslims constituted 96 percent of the killers.

Even worse, the article goes on to claim that since femicide is not linked to culture or religion, femicide is caused by “social and political power structures present in Palestine, in the occupation, and even in diasporic activism.” It seems clear that under the Palestinian Authority which administrates Bethlehem, Israa’s murder will go unpunished

The article names two culprits responsible for Israa’s death and other cases of femicide: “Israeli military occupation and a corrupt Palestinian Authority.”

Palestinian protesters are demanding the law be changed in the Palestinian Authority but that will be difficult. The Palestinian Parliament has not functioned since 2000 and PA President Mahmoud Abbas, who is currently in the 13th year of a four-year term, has yet to act on a petition with 12,000 signatures submitted to him requesting the law be changed.

UN Blames Israel for Palestinian Violence Against Women

This claim by Babyfist that was picked up by Tlaib is not a recent invention. At the 35th session of the Human Rights Council, Ms. Dubravka Šimonović, Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, presented her findings from a visit to Israel. Her report to the UNHRC focused on the “gendered impact of the occupation”. She cited a “clear link between prolonged occupation and gender-based violence”, blaming the prevalence of violence against Palestinian women by Palestinian men entirely on Israel.

As if it doesn't happen in a hundred other countries where Israel has no presence or influence. They ignore the very obvious problem of male over-dominance of women and girls in Islamic society. Sharia prefers to keep women invisible by covering them head to toe when in public. Is this because Islamic men have no self control? They can't seem to control themselves but insist on the privileged of controlling women in Muslim society.

These antiSemitic ravings remind me a little of Flip Wilson.

This premise was challenged by UN Watch’s Hillel Neuer who noted that her report failed to bring any data or facts to substantiate this claim.

“Is it right to continue infantilizing Palestinians, such that when a man in Ramallah beats his wife, we encourage him to say ‘Israel made me do it’?” Neuer stated. “Why did you fail to mention that official Palestinian TV regularly broadcasts Islamic preachers who tell the people how to beat their wives?” he said, citing several examples.

“The hitting is a kind of reminder that the love and friendship that Allah commanded is still found between the couple,” Neuer said, quoting a Mufti in Gaza.

The Babyfist article went on to criticize the lack of international attention on the case while also criticizing its overage in the Israeli media.

“Doubtless some Hebrew articles being published by some Zionist news outlets to try and pink-wash occupation,” the article writes. The intention was that the “Zionist news” is using the murder of Israa to discredit the Palestinian cause.

Tlaib: Israel Responsible for Palestinians Murdering Jews

Neur’s claim that the UNHRC report “infantilized Palestinians” should go double for Rashida Tlaib. Not only did she cite an article blaming the murder of a Palestinian woman by her Palestinian brother but she also blamed Israel for a Palestinian terrorist attack which killed a Jewish teen-aged girl two weeks ago, Tlaib blamed Israel.

Tlaib retweeted a post by the anti-Israel group IfNotNow which blamed the attack specifically on “the occupation”, a historically and factually inaccurate term anti-Semitic groups use to refer to Israel.

My comments above would appear to 'infantilize' Sharia-bound Muslims as well. Perhaps this needs more exploration.

Texas: Muslim Murders his Sister’s Friend in Honor Killing for Encouraging his Sister to Marry a Christian

BY ROBERT SPENCER
Jihad Watch

Islamic law forbids Muslim women to marry non-Muslim men. And there will be much, much more of this in America:

“Texas man pleads guilty in 2012 so-called honor killing

Associated Press

Nesreen Irsan, the widowed daughter,
testified against her father in court.
A Texas man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for what prosecutors call the “honor killing” of an Iranian rights activist who was his sister’s friend.

Nasim Irsan pleaded guilty to murder Thursday in Houston. Irsan could have faced life in prison if convicted of capital murder for the January 2012 fatal shooting of Gelareh Bagherzadeh (GEL’-uh-ray buh-GAR’-zuh-day).

Prosecutors say Irsan’s family is Muslim and was angry that his sister wed a Christian and converted. Bagherzadeh encouraged her friend to marry Coty Beavers. He was slain in late 2012.

Irsan’s father, Jordanian immigrant Ali Mahwood-Awad Irsan, was convicted last year of capital murder in both shootings and sentenced to death.

I wonder if Nasim and his father are feeling honorable as they sit in prison for the rest of their lives.

German ISIS Bride on Trial for War Crime of Letting 5yo Yazidi Girl Die of Thirst in the Sun

© AFP / dpa / Peter Kneffel

The trial of a German woman who joined ISIS and is accused of the war crime of letting a five-year-old Yazidi slave die of thirst under the blistering sun began in Munich Tuesday.

The case is believed to be the first of its kind in the world for international crimes committed by Islamic State against the Yazidi people.

“After the girl fell ill and wet her mattress, the husband of the accused chained her up outside as punishment and let the child die an agonising death of thirst in the scorching heat,” prosecutors stated, AFP reports.

The accused allowed her husband to do so and did nothing to save the girl.

Curious phrase - 'allowed her husband', as if this invisible woman had to give her permission to her husband for anything.

The 27-year-old woman, identified only as ‘Jennifer W.’ stands accused of murder and murder as a war crime, in addition to membership of a terrorist organisation as well as weapon control violations under German law. She faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and declined to make any statement during the initial 15-minute hearing. It remains unclear whether she will testify or issue any statement throughout the proceedings.

London-based human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, wife of Hollywood star George Clooney, is a member of the team representing the Yazidi girl's mother. Initial hearings are scheduled to take place through to September 30.

Prosecutors allege that Jennifer W. and her husband, IS fighter Taha Sabah Noori Al-J., purchased the girl and her mother in ISIS-occupied Mosul, Iraq in 2015.

Jennifer W. reportedly left school and converted to Islam in 2013, travelling through Turkey and Syria to join IS in 2014. She would join the group's so-called hisbah 'morality police' in 2015, patrolling cities like Fallujah and Mosul armed with an AK47 rifle and draped with an explosive vest to enforce the terrorist group's extremist ideology.

In January 2016, months after the Yazidi girl's death, Jennifer W. sought new identity papers at the German embassy in Ankara, Turkey whereupon she was arrested by Turkish authorities after exiting the building and was extradited to Germany.

'Hardcore even for ISIS'

Due to a dearth of evidence against her, Jennifer W. was allowed to return home but was reportedly arrested during an FBI sting operation as she attempted to return to the so-called ‘Caliphate’. During the sting operation, she was recorded admitting what she and her husband had done to the Yazidi girl which she admitted was “hardcore even for ISIS.”

She also stated the abuse was unjust as only God may punish sinners with fire, adding that her husband was later beaten by IS members as punishment.

So it appears she was not in agreement with her husband, but it is questionable as to how much influence she had over him, or whether she had opportunity to help the girl and didn't use it. She deserves some degree of punishment for just being there and marrying an ISIS fighter. I'm not convinced she deserves life in prison.

New Documents: Tiananmen Square Protest Death Toll was 10,000

UPI -- The death toll in the Chinese army crackdown on the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests was 10,000 people, according to newly-released documents.

China's government has said between 200 and 300 civilians died in the pro-democracy uprising on June 4, 1989. The political protests had lasted seven weeks until the army, which included 27 armored personnel carriers, was sent in.

But recently unsealed U.K. diplomatic cables sent at the time of the uprising now shed doubt on those estimations.

"Minimum estimate of civilian dead 10,000," reads the final sentence of a secret diplomatic cable: written on June 5 from Alan Donald, Britain's ambassador to China at the time. He said the figure was based on someone who "was passing on information given him by a close friend who is currently a member of the State Council."

The council is run by the premier.

The cables, held at the National Archives in London, were declassified in October, They were seen by the HK01 news site.

The document describes in detail the massacre. Wounded female students begging for their lives were allegedly were bayoneted, human remains were "hosed down the drains" and one mother was shot attempting to help her injured 3-year-old daughter.

"Students understood they were given one hour to leave square but after five minutes APCs attacked," he wrote. "Students linked arms but were mown down including soldiers. APCs then ran over bodies time and time again to make 'pie' and remains collected by bulldozer. Remains incinerated and then hosed down drains."

Activists in Hong Kong and Taiwan commemorate the anniversary date each year.

All activists' commemorations of the event are banned in mainland China. The government also regulates online discussion of the incident, including censoring criticism.

In November 2016, a peaceful pro-democracy march that drew thousands of people in Hong Kong turned violent. They had marched 2 1/2 miles across town to oppose Beijing's decision to determine the fate of two lawmakers who called for outright independence of Hong Kong from China.

IS Video Shows Boy Shooting an Israeli Arab Prisoner Dead

Islamic State (IS) militants have posted a video online which appears to show a young boy shooting dead an Israeli Arab prisoner.

Photo of Muhammad Musallam held by his parents
The man, identified as Muhammad Said Ismail Musallam, was accused by IS of being a spy.

IS said Mr Musallam, 19, had posed as a foreign fighter when he joined the militants in Syria. It said he later confessed to being a spy for Israel's Mossad - a charge denied by Israel and by his family.

"Islamic State is doing this because it has an objective: it wants to scare the entire world," said Said Musallam, the man's father.

"How does it want to send that picture to the world - to the entire world and the Arab world? The way is through Muhammad."

He said his son went missing after travelling as a tourist to Turkey in 2014.

A few months later an online magazine linked to IS carried a long interview in his name in which he confessed he had been sent by Israel to infiltrate the organisation. Its publication was a clear signal that he had fallen foul of the group and was in danger, our correspondent Kevin Connelly says.

The 13-minute video purportedly showing Mr Musallam's death has not been independently verified. Israel has declined to comment.

The video shows a boy aged about 12 accompanied by an older, French-speaking militant. He issued threats against Jews in France before the boy shot an orange-suited figure dead.

It is the latest in a series of IS propaganda videos appearing to show the killing of hostages. Last month IS militants in Libya released a video showing them beheading 21 Coptic Christians.

There is no level of depravity too low for this demonic horde. The deceived fools think they are acting in God's will when, in fact, they are doing Satan's bidding, and doing it very well.

Muslim in UK Blasts Out Quran While Torturing and Killing His Wife

Thahi Manaa beat his wife Sara Al’Shourefi
This article refers twice to “culture.” He beat her but she didn’t think she could go to authorities because of her “culture.” He had four wives because of his “culture.”

In reality, this is all Islam. The Koran allows a man to have four wives (4:3) and tells men to beat women from whom they “fear disobedience” (4:34). Abused Muslim women don’t go to non-Muslim authorities because they know that if they do, things will get even worse for them.

And notice how he blasted out the Koran to hide her screams. He never heard anything while it was blasting out that made him want to stop torturing his wife, either.

“The Kuwaiti refugee who murdered wife after horrifically torturing her for two hours with screwdrivers and a drill while blasting out Koran to hide her screams is jailed for at least 23 years,” by Ollie Gillman, MailOnline.

Thahi Manaa beat his wife Sara Al’Shourefi, 28, for two hours with metal bars, an electric drill, two screwdrivers and shelf during the ‘ferocious and chilling’ attack.

The bloodstained weapons were found near the mother-of-four’s body, which police found stuffed in cupboard after Manaa had bound the woman’s legs with parcel tape.

One of the screwdrivers was found sticking out of Mrs Al’Shourefi’s eye socket and a section of her scalp had been torn from her head.

The living room attack at their home in Firth Park, Sheffield, in March last year took place while Manaa’s mother and two of the couple’s children – aged two and four – were also inside the locked house.

Manaa, 37, even telephoned a travel agent during the assault to make plans for his getaway.

Jailing him today, Mrs Justice Cox said: ‘It was a ferocious and chilling attack of unimaginable barbarity.’

She said the victim suffered multiple blows while she was already on the floor bleeding and crawling around on her hands and knees.

The judge said: ‘She was alive for most of the assault though she may well have been rendered unconscious in its latter stages.

‘The pain, terror, anguish and desperation she would therefore have suffered as you inflicted these appalling injuries upon her and ended her life, is truly horrifying to contemplate.’

The judge said the sentence would have been longer but it was accepted that Manaa had been suffering from a psychotic illness for a long period of time and it was a ‘significant contributory factor’ in the killing.

She added that he had subjected his wife to ‘repeated acts of violence and abusive and controlling behaviour’ since she joined him in this country. Manaa stared at his feet in the dock as an interpreter repeated the judge’s words to him.

A total of 270 injuries were found on his wife’s body, there were a large number of puncture wounds to her head and neck and clumps of her hair had been torn out.

Her scalp was hanging off her head, she had been kicked and stamped upon and a knife had been used on her neck.

Lead investigator Detective Chief Inspector Zaf Ali said afterwards: ‘This was a horrific and brutal attack on a woman that has left four young children without their mother and family completely destroyed.

Honor taxi
‘Until the day of her death Sara was kept isolated by Manaa and suffered serious domestic abuse at his hands in silence, believing it was not culturally right to speak to the police or medical professionals against her husband.’

Nicholas Campbell QC, prosecuting at Sheffield Crown Court said: ‘It was a sustained and brutal attack and Sara received sadistic injuries.’

Manaa admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility but denied the murder. He was found guilty of murder by the jury after a two-and-a-half week trial.

The murderer previously claimed he had no memory of the attack and told a psychiatrist the couple had ongoing rows about a shelf he put up in the living room.

‘His wife wanted it to be moved,’ said Mr Campbell. ‘There was an argument and he hit her with his hands and with the shelf he was trying to reposition.

‘He said he hit Sara on the head and shoulders with the shelf and she became a little tired. He offered to take her to hospital or call 999 but she told him it would not be necessary. He went upstairs but when he came back down she was lying on the floor. There was a screwdriver sticking out of her left eye.’

Manaa told Mrs Al’Shourefi ‘she was not up to his demands’ and was described by another psychiatrist as a ‘depressed individual who is also controlling, possessive and jealous’.

The court heard he took four wives, which is allowed in his culture, and had an ‘unshakeable belief’ that each of his wives were unfaithful to him.

Neighbours heard high-pitched screams and the sound of banging coming from the house on the morning of the murder.

One said: ‘It seemed as if Sara was being tortured. It seemed as if she was in a lot of pain.’

Another witness heard Manaa hitting his wife. ‘She pictured Sara on the floor with the defendant coming in and out of the room shouting and hitting her. As the assault continued the screams became more laboured until everything went silent.’

Manaa later told his nephew Ahmad Jabber: ‘I have killed my wife.’ Mr Jabber told police: ‘His eyes were bulging and he seemed to be like a crazy person as if he was out of his mind.’

Manaa fled to the UK in 2010 and his wife a year later as ‘stateless’ refugees. He was granted leave to remain in the UK until 2016.

The couple, who married in 2004, brought their three young children with them and had a fourth child while in Britain.

‘Her isolation from the family at home is a significant factor in the events which unfolded,’ said Mr Campbell.

When she married, Mrs Al’Shourefi was pretty with long, black hair but by the time of the tragedy became subdued, wore glasses and had limited reading and writing skills.

Her younger sister told how she was not allowed out of the house alone and even had to ask her husband to buy sanitary towels. ‘From being good-natured and happy she lost her joy in life,’ said Mr Campbell.

Her husband swore at her but she was not allowed to raise her voice at him and she was forbidden from attending English classes or going shopping.

Mrs Al’Shourefi confided in her sister that Manaa beat her but she said she ‘had to bear it’ as he continued to dominate her.

He threw ‘everything in front of him’ at her and would hit her for the slightest reason. ‘He punched her regularly and when she tried to protect herself he would grab her hand and control her movements,’ said Mr Campbell. ‘He would pull out chunks of her hair.’

After her death on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 chunks of her hair were found in a bag in the kitchen which the deceased had collected.

‘Narjis believed not a week would go by without her sister being assaulted in one way or another although Sara told her she was hit almost every day,’ Mr Campbell said.

Manaa threatened to kill her if she reported it to the police and she was worried she would lose the children. ‘Sara said she accepted all of this behaviour because she loved him,’ said the prosecutor.

To isolate his wife even more he took her mobile phone at the beginning of 2014 – preventing her from calling Narjis or her family in the Middle East. Narjis from then only had contact her sister through her mother-in-law.

In a statement which Narjis asked to be read in court before Manaa was sentenced she said: ‘Why did you do it? Why did you just not divorce her? You treated her as a slave. Had you no mercy for all the good things she did for you and your children. You tortured her from the moment you married her. Was this not enough for you? Why did you have to kill her.’

19 Year-old German Woman, 38 weeks Pregnant, Stabbed and Burned Alive in Honour Killing

Coroner removing the burnt bodies of 19 year-old Maria and her unborn baby
By Theodore Shoebat

Two Muslim Turks in Berlin, Germany, took a pregnant 19 year old girl named Maria, stabbed her in the stomach, then covered her whole body in gasoline, set her on fire and watched her burn to death. They then covered her charcoaled body with leaves (pine branches) and left.

I did a whole video on this gruesome murder:

Watch video

This is what the report from one English speaking media outlet tells us:

Two men were arrested after a heavily pregnant 19-year-old woman was burned to death in a Berlin wood and one has confessed to the crime, police said Saturday.

One suspect is the ex-boyfriend of the victim and the other is his friend, a police spokeswoman said. Both suspects are also 19.

The victim was stabbed numerous times in the abdomen and burned alive late Thursday in the eastern Berlin district of Adlershof.

Walkers found the body Friday morning near a woodland path when their dog started barking and acting strangely.

The first suspect was arrested a few hours later. The two suspects are charged with murder and termination of a pregnancy.

They are to be brought before a court Saturday.

Notice how this report never mentions the fact that the murderers were Muslims, and one of them was given the name of “Muhammad” in one German report in order to protect his identity.

According to the German publication, Kopp Online, the Muslim who stabbed and burned her, named Muhammad, was Turkish and demanded that the girl get an abortion. When this did not happen, he and an accomplice burned her alive.

Is it any wonder why so many Germans want mass-deportation of Muslims?

Just yesterday I got into an argument with a deacon who is teaching that the Europeans who want mass deportation of Muslims are “un-Christ like.” I told him that numerous Church Fathers and other ancient Christian theologians, such as Firmicus, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Robert Bellarmine, Francisco Vitoria, and others, all believed that heretical and dangerous ideologies need to be outlawed.

From a German web-site, translated by Google:

The 19-year-old native of Berlin-Lichtenberg and was about to give birth. In her lungs combustion residues were closed during the autopsy, which proves that she was still alive when she was burned.

German courts will recognize now that honor killing is deeply rooted among immigrants from the Islamic world and accepted there. Exactly one year ago was a German-Afghan who stabbed his pregnant girlfriend, was in front of the Wiesbaden district court and received an Islamic discount.

The judges found, the offender “had been due to its cultural and religious backgrounds in a predicament.” It’s called the migrant bonus. If I, as an ethnic German, were to stab a pregnant Turkish woman, I would get a higher sentence than a Turk who stabs a very pregnant German. I am now in my own home as German – judicially sanctioned – a second class citizen.

This is exactly what brings the demonstrators of PEGIDA now in masses on the streets. Our media lies boldly claim that there is no Islamization and talk about the alleged Islamisation. We take all considerations of the practices of our oriental immigrants.

In Turkey, honor killings in pregnant women after studies at the University of Izmir today are as common as eggs in German households. And in many Islamic countries – such as Jordan and Pakistan – in fact there are no penalties for honor killings.

Globally, I found 90 percent of honor killings take place in Muslim families. By giving discounts for oriental honor killings to justice, we encourage the offender. That is a fact. Yes, there is a discount Islam in German courts. Islam reduces any case, the criminal responsibility in Islamic murderers .

In Afghanistan last month:

A pregnant girl, whose face was badly burnt by acid, has been found dead in the southern province of Helmand, an official said on Monday.

Police spokesman Maj. Farid Ahmad Obaid told Pajhwok Afghan News the body was recovered a ruined house in Bashran area late on Sunday. The victim’s identity is yet to be established.

The Bost Civil Hospital director said the victim was 17 years old and was pregnant. Nisar Ahmad Barak added the girl was stabbed before being attacked with acid.

Human rights official Bilal Ahmad Sadiqi condemned the incident and said neither Islam nor humanity allowed such barbaric acts.

He asked security organs to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The girl was probably killed by her family, he believed.

But whoever did it can be forgiven by a family member, then there can be no prosecution.

Pakistani Judge Orders Arrest of Jihadist Imam

A judge in Pakistan has issued an arrest warrant for a cleric at a radical mosque in Islamabad who has refused to condemn the massacre of children at an army-run school.

Imam Abdul Aziz has been accused of threatening protesters outside the Red Mosque.

Imam Abdul Aziz
The cleric said the charge against him was insignificant.

Last week, Taliban fighters attacked the school in Peshawar, killing 152 people, including 133 children.

Mr Aziz said that the authorities should focus on arresting people accused of more serious crimes.

"My case is very small and even a sub-inspector can grant me bail," he said.

The BBC's Anbarasan Ethirajan says that Mr Aziz is well known for his pro-Taliban views.

Earlier this year, a school run by the cleric renamed its library in honour of the former al-Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden.

A spokesman for the Red Mosque said they would resist the arrest of Mr Aziz.

A man holds a sign during a protest near the Red Mosque in Islamabad
Civil society activists had lodged the complaint against Mr Aziz, saying that they had been threatened by mosque employees during a protest about his refusal to condemn the school massacre.

The demonstrators are also being investigated for holding an unlawful protest.

Pakistan has stepped up its anti-terror operations since the attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar on 16 December.

Earlier this week, the government announced new measures to tackle terrorism, including the establishment of military courts to hear terrorism-related cases.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that there was "changed Pakistan" since the tragedy and that there would be "no place for terrorism, extremism, sectarianism and intolerance."

That doesn't sound like Pakistan. Watch your back PM Sharif you are messing with centuries of insanity.

Taliban Leader Responsible for Peshawar School Massacre and Malala Shooting - Dead

Gulf News:

Dubai: The leader of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Mullah Fazlullah, who masterminded the massacre of 148 people including schoolchildren, was reportedly killed in an air strike in Afghanistan on Saturday, Gulf News has learnt.

Mullah Fazlullah ordered the assassination of Malala
and is mentioned frequently in her book, 'I Am Malala'
Calling it a ‘big blow’ that will break the back of “TTP terrorists”, Pakistan officials said Fazlullah was killed during a joint operation by Pakistan army and US-led forces in Afghanistan. However, no official statement was issued on Saturday.

A highly placed source in Islamabad told Gulf News that the news about Fazlullah’s death would soon be made public and his body would also be shown to public.

The joint operation to hunt down Fazlullah was conducted after Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif rushed to Afghanistan on Tuesday — the day of Peshawar school massacre — demanding that the Afghan government take action against TTP’s most-feared leader hiding there.

The army chief shared intelligence details with the Afghan officials which showed Fazlullah giving directives to terrorists from his hideout in Afghanistan. What a concept - working together!

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been informed about the joint operation on Saturday, sources said.

Pakistan Army has been waging a major offensive against the Taliban and other militant strongholds in the restive tribal area along the Pakistan-Afghan border for the last six months

President Mamnoon Hussain said on Saturday said Peshawar tragedy has united the nation and people are now seeking the complete elimination of terrorists to make the country safe.

Fazlullah, nicknamed Radio Mullah for interacting with his militant groups through FM radio, had escaped from Swat when the military flushed out terrorists from the valley during a massive military operation in 2009. He had also claimed responsibility for an assassination attempt on Malala Yousufzai in 2012.

Syria Conflict: 230 Bodies 'Found in Mass Grave' in Deir al-Zour

The bodies of more than 230 people believed to have been killed by Islamic State (IS) have been found in a mass grave in eastern Syria, activists say.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said they were thought to be members of a tribe that fought the jihadist group in Deir al-Zour province in the summer.

The mass grave was discovered after the Sheitat were allowed to return to their homes by IS leaders, it added.

Last month, the UN said it had received reports of a massacre there in August.

Investigators said it appeared to have been perpetrated by IS in a struggle for control of oil resources near the town of Mohassan.

One survivor described seeing "many heads hanging on walls while I and my family escaped", while locals saw several freshly-dug mass graves.

Video published online also indicated that IS fighters had conducted a mass execution of fighting-age Sheitat tribesmen.

In early November, IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi reportedly issued a statement granting members of the tribe permission to return to their homes upon the condition that they did not assemble. They were also told to surrender all weapons and inform on all "apostates" to the group.

All "traitors" would be killed, Baghdadi's statement warned.

On Wednesday, the Syrian Observatory reported that it had been informed by a trusted source that the 230 bodies had been found by returning members of the Sheitat in a mass grave in the desert near the village of Kashkiya, in eastern Deir al-Zour.

The UK-based group said the "vast majority" of the victims had been civilians and that many of them had been executed in cold blood.

The discovery brought the number of Sheitat tribes-people killed during the summer to more than 900, it added. In just a couple weeks last summer, 100 Sheitat soldiers were slaughtered along with 600 civilians including some women and children. Hundreds more are still missing.

Have you heard about this in the news? God forbid if Israel should accidentally kill a Palestinian; you will hardly hear anything else for days. But IS slaughters hundreds of people and there are no reports, no international condemnations. What gives? The Sheitat people might never recover from this carnage.

Vatican to Open Archives of Second World War - Yikes!

Vatican to reveal secrets of Pope’s collaboration with Hitler

Pope Francis has reiterated his pledge to open Vatican archives to researcher allowing them to finally know the extent of Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church’s collaboration with Hitler and the Nazis in World War II.

Hitler and Pope Pius XII
Known as “Hitler’s Pope” Pope Pius XII did not do enough to try to save the doomed Jews of Europe. Following the war Bishop Hudal, a German, helped Nazi war criminals escape to South America. Their escape, called “rat lines,” were set up in Rome.

Speaking to the Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronot, Pope Francis I said there was “an agreement between the Vatican and Italy from 1929 that prevents us from opening the archives to researchers at this point in time. But because of the time that has passed since World War Two, I see no problem with opening the archives the moment we sort out the legal and bureaucratic matters.”

The Pope also said he was concern of the current image painted of Pope Pius XII which he feels may be unfair.

He told the paper “One thing worries me – the image of Pope Pius XII. Pope Pius XII has been accused of all sorts of things, including having been aware of the extermination of the Jews and doing nothing. I’m not saying he didn’t make mistakes. He made a few. I get things wrong often too.
OK, but so far your mistakes haven't cost 6 million lives. It seems the pope is trivializing the holocaust.
Pope Pius XII

“During the Holocaust, Pius gave refuge to many Jews in monasteries in Italy. In the pope’s bed at Castel Gandolfo, 42 children were born to couples who found refuge there from the Nazis. These are things that people don’t know.

“When Pius XII died, [former Israeli premier] Golda Meir sent a letter that read: ‘We share in the pain of humanity. When the Holocaust befell our people, the pope spoke out for the victims.’” Does anyone remember this happening?

During the war Pius seemed, to the public, to be indifferent to the atrocities being committed. He refused pleas for help but he made statements condemning injustices.

Privately he did shelter a number of Jews and spoke with select officials about helping the Jewish people.

Pope Francis claims that a 1963 played portrayed Pope Pius as a Nazi sympathizer and this is where this image came from.

He said “When you interpret history, you need to do so from the way of thinking of the time in question. I can’t judge historical events in modern-day terms. It doesn’t work. I’ll never get to the truth like that.

“Did Pius XII remain silent in the face of the extermination of the Jews? Did he say all he should have said? We will have to open the archives to know exactly what happened. But to judge the actions, we will also need to understand the circumstances under which he was acting.

“Perhaps it was better for him to remain silent because had he spoken, more Jews would have been murdered? Or maybe the other way around? I don’t want to sound petty, but it really gets my goat when I see that everyone is against the Church, against Pius XII – all those detractors.

And what about the Allies during the war? After all, they were well aware of what was going on in the death camps and they were very familiar with the railroad tracks that led Jews to Auschwitz. They had aerial photographs. And they didn’t bomb those tracks. I’ll leave that question hanging in the air, and say only that one needs to be very fair in these things.”

Yikes! That could stir up a hornet's nest. I suspect the only excuse could be that the bombs were needed elsewhere to win the war. But a bombed out bridge could have saved tens of thousands of lives. Obviously, to their shame, the allies did not put very much value on those lives.

Scholars believe that by the end of 1942 the Vatican was one of the best informed institutions in Europe with regards to the Holocaust.

Although Pope Francis believes that opening the archives would exonerate the Catholic Church he also believes revelations could further harm the reputation of the church following the child sexual abuse cover-ups scandals.

So far, I am at a loss to find pleasant surprises from the Catholic Church. Mostly, they are disappointing surprises, if not infuriating.

Protests in Mexico City, Acapulco, & La Paz, Bolivia Over 43 Missing Students

Relatives of 43 missing Mexican students, who the authorities say were murdered by a drugs gang, have led mass protests in the capital.

Convoys carrying the families arrived in Mexico City on Thursday after touring the country to rally support.

Masked protesters clashed with police near the airport hours before the three
marches started. Some 200 hooded protesters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails
at police officers burning a motorcycle.
Many remain unconvinced by the official explanation and still hope the students will be found alive.

Francisco Lagro, father of 19-year-old Magdaleno, one of those missing, was travelling on one of the caravans.

"It's been almost two months without knowing where they are. We don't know anything and we're desperate," he said.

"What are they doing? In what conditions? Do they get any water or food? Are they tied up? We have so many questions."

The government's handling of the case of the missing students
has provoked widespread anger in Mexico
Many thousands have converged on Mexico City's main square, or Zocalo.

A small protest turned violent near Mexico City's international airport, when some 200 hooded protesters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at police officers who had been trying to disperse them. Police say no-one was injured.

Despite that incident, the protests were less violent and destructive than those just over a week ago.

Many shops and businesses were reportedly closed on Thursday because of the marches.

Demonstrators have also called for a nationwide strike. Protests are also under way in other parts of Mexico and abroad.

The abduction has galvanised opposition to rampant political corruption and violence, says the BBC's Wyre Davies in Mexico City.

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has accused some of the protesters of trying to "destabilise" the state.

The protests for the missing students reflect wider anger at political corruption
Analysts say the issue is the biggest challenge he has faced in his two years of office.

The students, all trainee teachers, went missing after attending a protest in Iguala, Guerrero State.

Forensic tests are being carried out on bodies found in mass graves in the state.

More than 100,000 people have been killed and 27,000 have disappeared in Mexico in the last decade.

Is It Possible to Save North Korea from Itself?

North Korea's rights situation "exceeds all others in duration, intensity and horror", the UN report said.

A UN committee has called for the Security Council to refer North Korea to the International Criminal Court over its human rights record.

The human rights committee passed a motion seeking a probe into alleged crimes against humanity committed by the Pyongyang regime.

The motion still needs to be voted on by the General Assembly itself.

A groundbreaking UN report released in February revealed ordinary North Koreans faced "unspeakable atrocities".

The UN Commission of Inquiry detailed wide-ranging abuses in North Korea after hearing evidence of torture, political repression and other crimes.

It led to Tuesday's non-binding vote, which was passed with 111 countries in favour and 19 against, with 55 abstentions.

China and Russia, which hold veto power on the Security Council, voted against the motion.

'Disappeared'
The resolution also condemned North Korea for its poor human rights record, and urged the Security Council to consider targeted sanctions against those responsible for the crimes.

Michael Kirby, who chaired the report, described the move as "an important step in the defence of human rights".

"One of the only ways in which the International Criminal Court can secure jurisdiction is by referral by the Security Council. That is the step that has been put in train by the big vote in New York," he said.

UN Committee meeting
The General Assembly is to vote on the motion in coming weeks.

Diplomats say, however, that long-time ally China would probably use its veto to block the Security Council from referring the case to the ICC.

The UN report said North Korea's human rights situation "exceeds all others in duration, intensity and horror".

It said those accused of political crimes were "disappeared" to prison camps, where they were subject to "deliberate starvation, forced labour, executions, torture, rape and the denial of reproductive rights enforced through punishment, forced abortion and infanticide".

The report, based on interviews with North Korean defectors, estimated that "hundreds of thousands of political prisoners have perished in these camps over the past five decades".

Choe Myong-nam, a North Korean official in charge of UN affairs and
human rights, speaks during a meeting of the UN General Assembly
human rights committee on 18 November 2014
From the report:

Former inmate Jeong Kwang-il told the UN panel he was given so little food during 10 months in a detention centre that he dropped in weight from 75kg to 36kg (5st 9lb) [165 lbs to 79 lbs]. He also described a technique referred to as 'pigeon torture' to force confessions where the hands are handcuffed behind the back.

"Then they hang you so you would not be able to stand or sit," he said.

"If you are hung like that for three days, four days, you urinate, you defecate, you are totally dehydrated… [it] was so painful that I felt it was better to die."

UN North Korea report main findings

It included an account of a woman forced to drown her own baby, children imprisoned from birth and starved, and families tortured for watching a foreign soap opera.

North Korea refused to co-operate with the UN report and rejected its conclusions.

Speaking ahead of the vote, a North Korean foreign ministry official warned the committee of the possibility of further nuclear tests.

Penalising North Korea over human rights "is compelling us not to refrain any further from conducting nuclear tests", Choe Myong-nam said.

North Korea has conducted three nuclear tests in the past. International talks aimed at ending its nuclear ambitions have been stalled for years.

While this is very ambitious, and a little frightening - like heading toward a one-world government, it is not likely to get anywhere as China will certainly veto it if Russia doesn't. Neither country wants to set the precedent of having to be answerable to the World Court for internal matters.

Missing Mexican Students All Dead and Burnt - Families Not so Sure

Mexican Attorney General Jesus Murillo issued some heart-breaking news that families of the   missing students didn't want to hear.

In what was at times a very graphic press conference, Attorney General Murillo laid out his office's findings into the disappearance of the students.

Suspected gang members have confessed to killing more than 40 students missing for six weeks, the Attorney General has said.

He said three alleged gang members claimed the students were handed over to them by police.

They said some were already asphyxiated and they shot the others dead, before setting fire to all the bodies.

A total of 43 students went missing after clashing with police on 26 September in the town of Iguala.

The suspects from the Guerreros Unidos drug gang were recently arrested in connection with the disappearances.

Relatives of the missing said they had been told that six bags of unidentified human remains had been found along a river near where the students vanished.

Mr Murillo warned that it would be difficult to identify the charred remains and that authorities would continue to consider the students as missing until DNA tests confirmed the identities.

Previous searches have uncovered mass graves in the area, but initial tests suggested they did not contain the remains of the students.

Hundreds of people have helped in the search for the students
Mr Murillo showed videotaped confessions by the suspects who said they had loaded the students into dumper trucks and taken them to a landfill site in Cocula, a city near Iguala.

About 15 of the students were already dead when they arrived and the rest were shot, according to the suspects.

Mr Murillo said the bodies were then burned with petrol, tyres, firewood and plastic in an inferno that lasted for 14 hours.

"The fire lasted from midnight to 2pm the next day. The criminals could not handle the bodies (for three hours) due to the heat," he said.

He said that the suspects then crushed the remains, stuffed them into bags and tossed them in a river.

The suspects said they were not sure how many students they had taken but one said there were more than 40, Mr Murillo said.

"The high level of degradation caused by the fire in the remains we found make it very difficult to extract the DNA that will allow an identification,'' he added.

Human remains from the river are now to be identified by experts in Austria, but Mr Murillo said it wasn't clear how long the process would take.

However, relatives of the missing remained sceptical. The families have been highly critical of the investigation into the students' disappearance.

"As long as there are no results, our sons are alive," Felipe de la Cruz, the father of one of the disappeared, said in a statement.

"Today they're trying to close the case this way... a blatant way to further our torture by the federal government."

The students from a teacher training college in Ayotzinapa, in Guerrero state, had travelled to nearby Iguala to protest against what they said were discriminatory hiring practices, and to collect funds for their college.

But they went missing after clashes with the police.

Six people were also killed after police opened fire and witnesses described seeing the students being bundled into police cars.

More than 70 people have been arrested in connection with the disappearances, including the Mayor of Iguala, Jose Luis Abarca, and his wife, Maria de los Angeles Pineda, who were detained in Mexico City on Tuesday.
