John Stossel Reveals a Certain Lack of Socialism in Sweden

Sweden is often held up as a model of successful socialism
..
Stossel looks into it and finds some very unsocialistic attitudes in Sweden made necessary by the drastic failure of real socialist programs

And don't forget Sweden's mind-boggling issue with domestic abuse, called the Nordic Paradox

War on Christianity: Muslim UN Officials Block Syrian Christian Refugees from Getting Help

Christians in Syria are treated better by Assad than UNHCR

Zaatari Refugee Camp, Jordan

Dale Hurd, CBN News

LONDON – Christian Syrian refugees have told CBN News that they have been blocked from getting help from the United Nations Refugee Agency, the UNHCR, by Muslim UN officials in Jordan.

UN Response to Syrian Christians? Get Lost

One of the refugees, Hasan, a Syrian convert to Christianity, told us in a phone call that Muslim UN camp officials "knew that we were Muslims and became Christians and they dealt with us with persecution and mockery. They didn't let us into the office. They ignored our request."

Hasan and his family are now in hiding, afraid that they will be arrested by Jordanian police, or even killed. Converting to Christianity is a serious crime in Jordan.

A clear pattern of discrimination by the United Nations refugee agency in Jordan against Christians. And it appears to be one reason that while tens of thousands of Syrian Muslim war refugees have been settled in the United States and Britain, only a small number have been Christian.

And the two governments that could stop this persecution of Christian refugees – the US and Britain – have done little to nothing about it.

I can add, neither has Canada. Of course, Canada's very Liberal government despises Christians.

A Former Archbishop of Canterbury Says "Enough"

Lord George Carey is suing Britain's home office alleging that "politically correct" officials have been "institutionally biased" against Christian refugees. He also wants to find out why out of 60-thousand Syrian war refugees accepted into the United States and Britain in 2014, almost none were Christians.

Lord Carey's attorney, Paul Diamond, explains the case:

"You have this absurd situation where the scheme is set up to help Syrian refugees and the people most in need, Christians who have been "genocided," they can't even get into the U.N. camps to get the food. If you enter and say I am a Christian or convert, the Muslim U.N. guards will block you [from] getting in and laugh at you and mock you and even threaten you.

Christian Refugee Viewed as the Enemy by Muslim UN Officials

Another Syrian refugee, Timothy, who told us he became a Christian after seeing Jesus in a dream, said he was also blocked from entering a refugee camp by Muslim UN officials.

"All of the United Nations officials, most of them, 99 percent, they are Muslims," Timothy explained from Jordan, "and they were treating us as enemies."

Diamond says, "Sunni Muslim officials have blocked the way. They've laughed at them, threatened them, said 'You shouldn't have converted. You're an idiot for converting. You get what you get,' words to that effect."

Carey says by doing nothing, western governments are complicit in what calls "the steady crucifixion of Middle East Christians."

"And no simple measures are taken by both the British and the American government,' Diamond says, "It would be simple just to open up a refugee camp for religious minorities, for Christians, Yazidis, whatever they are, and they'd be safe. But no one does that."

Nations Also Deporting Christian Refugees to Certain Imprisonment or Death

Christian refugees who have made it to western countries are increasingly being deported back to Muslim nations, with no regard for the danger they will face.

Sweden Falling from Grace

Swedish attorney Gabriel Donner who represents Christian asylum seekers, says Sweden is now deporting up to one-third of Christian refugees back to Muslim nations where they are likely to be imprisoned or killed.

One of those Christian refugees now facing imminent deportation is Iman Amir-Ourang from Iran. He says Swedish officials either did not understand or care about the evidence of his Christian faith.

Amir-Ourang told us, "There are so many atheists living in Sweden, so they can't believe in somebody that believes in God. So just because they don't believe in our Lord, they don't trust anybody else to believe in the Lord either."

"They don't understand the message in the Bible. It's just completely alien to them," Donner added.

Sweden is probably the only country in the world more extremely left-leaning than Canada. They call it 'progressive', but what are they progressing toward? Scandinavian countries suffer from the highest rates of domestic abuse in the industrialized world. It has a name; it's called the Nordic Paradox. It's a paradox because no-one there understands that eliminating Christ from society is not a good thing.

Britain Ignores Christian Refugees While Welcoming ISIS Children

President Trump told CBN News in 2017 that Christian refugees would be given priority. But Muslim governments officially classify Christians as security threats, causing their asylum applications to western countries to be rejected.

That's almost funny! What is it terrorists frequently say when they are committing a massacre? Allahu aqbar? Not Jesus Christ!

The UN Refugee program did not respond to our request for answers.

Lord Carey has publicly appealed for money in his suit against the British home office, which has already threatened the 84-year churchman with all court costs if he loses.

Meanwhile, Britain's Home office is spending a lot of time and money on the resettlement of the children of ISIS terrorists.

Can't imagine anything going wrong there!

SWEDISH EX-PRIME MINISTER REBUKES BERNIE: SOCIALISM ONLY DESTROYS

And don't forget the Nordic Paradox!
By Alice Salles

Socialism never stopped enticing young American minds. But the more Democratic Socialists such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez open their mouths, we learn the movement’s most vocal proponents simply ignore socialism’s incompatibility with democracy, as demonstrated by Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises in A Critique of Interventionism . Sen. Bernie Sanders is one of them.

With the Vermont senator announcing he’s running for president, his past comments defending socialism and socialist countries notorious for their failures become the type of material critics are eager to dissect. Especially because he still calls himself a Democratic Socialist while using Nordic countries as examples of what he defends.

Thankfully, political figures from the very countries the good senator from Vermont calls “socialist” are here to remind him that the ideology is nothing but a trap.

Prime Minister of Sweden from 1991 to 1994, Carl Bildt, took to Twitter to warn Sanders that socialism is not the key to creating a great society as he and Ocasio-Cortez seem to think.

After old footage showing Sanders and his wife, Jane, praising the Soviet Union for its programs targeting the youth went viral online, Bildt responded by saying “Sanders was lucky to be able to get to the Soviet Union in 1988 and praise all its stunning socialist achievements before the entire system and empire collapsed under the weight of its own spectacular failures.”

To the former prime minister, the damage socialism can cause is still fresh in his memory. After all, he was the first prime minister in 60 years to not subscribe to the ideology. And thanks to him, Sweden’s capital gains taxes were cut to 30 percent and corporate taxes to 28 percent.

Bildt also privatized several state-owned industries, deregulated multiple sectors of the economy, allowed people to invest portions of their pension, and introduced school choice policies, improving the country’s education system.

After Bildt, Sweden, which had completely lost its host of entrepreneurs thanks to business taxes that sometimes exceeded the 100 percent mark, once again flourished. Even as Social Democrat successor Ingvar Carlsson took over.

Seeing the wonderful changes just a few years worth of reform had done, Carlsson kept Bildt’s policies in place. And business start-ups rose nearly 25 percent as a result.

Unfortunately, politicians like Sanders like to use countries like Sweden as examples of how socialism can work.

The same politician who, in the late 1980s, praised breadlines and celebrated the Soviet Union for forcing its youth to dedicate their whole lives to communism, now tells Americans that the so-called “Nordic model” of socialism can and will work in America. And yet, he seems clueless to the fact that the policies he pushes don’t mirror those adopted by the countries he celebrates.

As explained by Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen in 2015, countries like his Denmark “[are] far from [socialist planned economies].”

“Denmark is a market economy,” he added. And as demonstrated by Mises in Economic Policy: Thoughts for Today and Tomorrow , there’s “no western, capitalistic country in which the conditions of the masses have not improved in an unprecedented way.”

In other words, to claim the successes of Nordic countries are due to socialism is nothing but a lie.

As the Acton Institute pointed out, Sanders’ ideology, the same ideology upheld by Ocasio-Cortez and countless others who are now legislating in Washington, D.C., is about putting statism before freedom.

In order to apply the policies they push, we would have to relinquish complete control over our lives, allowing the state to squelch artistic expression, private initiative, and destroy any incentive left compelling people to serve each other better and more efficiently.

Is that the world we want to live in?

These Nordic countries that are the most 'progressive' in the world, the most socialist, the most feminist, have one huge problem that Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez don't talk about. The have the highest ratios of spousal abuse in the western world. This is called the Nordic Paradox because socialists can't figure out why it is happening. There is so much socialists don't understand.

Nordic Paradox Country Rewards Spousal Axe Murderer With 'Amazingly Good' Prison Life

Swedish axe murderer is ‘extremely satisfied’ with prison life

Is there something wrong with progressive societies?

A Swedish man who brutally murdered his girlfriend with an axe and stashed her body in a basement for four months is loving life in prison. Bjorn Olsen thinks being behind bars is “amazingly good.”

Olsen is “extremely satisfied” with his life behind bars, and told a relative, “It’s actually amazingly good how we have it here,” in a letter obtained by Expressen.

“It’s like you’d almost rather be here than free on the outside,” Olsen wrote. “So it’s nice here, it’s pretty cushy. Good gym. Nice food. Totally OK job where you work with ceramics.”

Olsen killed his girlfriend Therese Palmkvist with an axe outside Hedemora in Dalarna in 2016, and stashed her body under a carpet in the basement for four months. He took off and hid in a caravan in the woods and was found a week after Palmkvist’s body was discovered.

Olsen was sentenced to 16 years in prison and put in a special request to be sent to a facility where he could be around other men who had killed their wives and girlfriends.

Apparently, there are many in Sweden along with the other Nordic countries. The Nordic Paradox is the fact that Nordic countries Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland, which are the most politically progressive countries in the world, have some of the highest rates of spousal abuse in the west. This is a paradox, a source of great confusion, to those who think far-left  (progressive) liberalism is a good thing.

There is, indeed, need for changes in most societies. A need for more equality between men and women. A need for more protections for children who are virtually voiceless, and who often suffer the consequences of man's stupidity and evil. But, the Nordic Paradox is a clear indictment that the current model of progressive society is way out of whack.

He is serving his sentence in the maximum security Hall Prison outside Södertälje.

Olsen told his relative he gets to “play guitar, drums, piano, go to the gym, watch films, read books, study maths and stuff,” inside the prison, and can “just chill.”

As wonderful as his prison experience sounds, Olsen lamented the fact that he doesn’t have a Playstation and he asked his relative if they could send him a “a porn magazine or two.”

Awww. I'm sure if you complain to the authorities they will take pity on you and provide you with some nice PS games where you can practice killing people, and maybe even get some kiddie porn.

Swedish Parliament Rejects Center-Right PM Candidate, No End in Sight to Political Deadlock

Just as British Columbia prepares to vote for or against changing our voting system from First Past The Post to Proportional Representation, Sweden gives us a great example of how well Proportional Representation works

Sweden’s Riksdag has voted against Ulf Kristersson’s candidacy for prime minister, after his center-right allies refused to create a future coalition that would rely on support from the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats.

The previously expected result leaves Sweden without a permanent government two months after the election, an unprecedented political stalemate in the country’s democratic history.

The Sweden Democrats backed Kristersson’s Moderates, but he received the support of only 154 deputies, short of the 175 majority needed. The 195 that voted against included the center-left, green and socialist parties, and the Liberal and Center parties, who campaigned together with Kristersson ahead of September’s election.

“It is a difficult day to vote against a colleague in our alliance,” Liberals leader Jan Bjorklund said. “But today’s vote is about something more and something bigger. There’s a rising tide of right-wing nationalism in the western world, which is a counter reaction to globalization, European cooperation, free trade, openness – those liberal ideas that have built our entire successful western model of society.”

Say what? How many dozens of 'no-go' zones are there in Sweden? Has not Sweden the 2nd highest rate of rape in the world? Have you never heard of the Nordic Paradox? Is not the extreme right rising because of your blindness to the troubles in Sweden? This is the 'successful western model of society'? It's more like cultural suicide to me.

Liberal pride, arrogance and blindness (deliberate blindness) makes them incapable of humbling themselves to work with anyone who doesn't believe in their (read George Soros') globalization protocol, the madness of which is obvious to everyone but them.

Although Kristersson freely conceded he was unlikely to win in advance, the vote was called by speaker Andreas Norlen to prompt a resolution to the post-election impasse.

There are now three official votes left to find a head of government before a new election must be called, but none of the other candidates look well-placed to capitalize. The center-left and other parties on its wing have fewer than half of the chamber, a centrist grand coalition is unprecedented, and no right-wing coalition is possible without the Sweden Democrats.

The mainstream parties are wary of another popular vote, as polls show that the nationalist Sweden Democrats are only gaining in popularity as the crisis drags on, meaning that the situation will be repeated unless enough parties work with the upstarts.

The previous socialist government of Stefan Lofven remains in power by default, despite being officially removed in an earlier Riksdag ballot, but will find it difficult to approve an ideologically purposeful budget for next year amid the squabbling.

Elections in Sept 2017 in Germany also resulted in more than 4 months of wrangling before they could form a government.
