Middle East Madness > IDF blows up weapons stash in Beirut; Al Qaeda promotes fire-setting in Israel; BBC journo recommends Hitler treatment for Jews

IDF Destroys Hezbollah Warehouse Full of Advanced Weapons in Beirut

The Israelis have just destroyed a weapons warehouse belonging to Hezbollah, one full of advanced missiles, in the middle of southern Beirut. It was a risky mission for the IDF. The Israelis had learned — Mossad agents are all over Beirut — of a Hezbollah weapons warehouse, full of advanced missiles, located smack in the middle of a residential area in the Haniyeh neighborhood, a Hezbollah stronghold. They knew it would be a dicey undertaking given the building’s location. If they bombed it, given its location, there was the possibility of civilians being killed or wounded. And that would create still another furor about Israeli “genocide.” There would be the predictable denunciation from the usual suspects: at the UN General Assembly, the Security Council, and the Human Rights Council; at the EU, at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Arab League, and from such moral eminences as Emmanuel Macron, Keith Starmer, Mark Carney, and the particularly odious Michael D. Higgins, President of Ireland. Israeli pilots would have to hit this warehouse target dead-on, with no room for the slightest error, and to destroy both the building and its contents down to the ground, without causing damage to any of the circumjacent buildings. Civilians in nearby buildings had been warned to move at least 300 meters away from the building that had been targeted. And they did.

More on the strike on the warehouse can be found here.

A source familiar with the details told The Jerusalem Post that the Trump administration was briefed before the attack occurred and “everything was coordinated.”

The Israelis got ready. They told the Americans what they were about to hit, and why. No objection was raised in Washington. The new administration fully supports Israel in its multi-front campaign against terrorist groups. Hezbollah comes in for special American fury because of its murder of 241 Marines while they were sleeping in their Beirut barracks in 1983.

The IDF struck Hezbollah infrastructure in the terror organization’s stronghold of Dahiyeh in southern Beirut, as the materials posed a significant threat to Israel, Defense Minister Israel Katz’s office confirmed on Sunday.

Israel will not allow Hezbollah to build up its capabilities and pose any threat anywhere in Lebanon,” the ministry said. “The Lebanese government bears direct responsibility for preventing these threats.”

The warehouse housed the most advanced missiles that any jihadist terror group now possesses; apparently they had been examined by Israeli agents, and when the information was conveyed to the IDF at their headquarters in Kirya, were deemed so dangerous that Israel was prepared to take the risk of possibly hitting civilians and earning still more opprobrium from the so-called “international community.”

It [the Ministry of Defense] also said Israel will insist on achieving its war objective of safely returning the residents of the North to their homes….

As long as Hezbollah insists on trying to violate its commitment, under the terms of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, to remove all of its troops from Lebanon south of the Litani River, and thus continues to pose a threat to the 60,000 Israelis who in the early days of the war evacuated their homes in the Galilee after Hezbollah started to rain down thousands of missiles and rockets on the area, those Israelis will not return to their homes. The IDF will continue to strike at Hezbollah targets. Only when its intermittent rocket attacks on northern Israel stop completely, and the 60,000 Israelis still displaced from their homes feel safe enough to return to them, will the IDF’s campaign against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon finally end. But that campaign will not end in southern Beirut, where Hezbollah keeps trying to smuggle in arms from Iran.

The attack followed an “urgent and important warning to residents of southern suburbs of Beirut,” issued by IDF Arabic Spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee earlier.

Adraee added that those residing in a certain building located in the Dahiyeh neighborhood, as well as adjacent buildings, needed to evacuate and move at least 300 meters away for their own safety.

Civilians in the building where the missiles were being stored, and in circumjacent buildings, were given warnings, and sufficient time, to leave — and to move at least 300 meters away. As a consequence, there appear to have been no casualties after this IDF attack on the warehouse. Given its location, this was a spectacular achievement.

The building is part of Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure, the military said.

Saudi news outlet Al Hadath said the building was a warehouse, not a residence….

The Saudi claim supports the Israelis: the building was a warehouse — for weapons — and not a residence, as Hezbollah has of course been furiously claiming. Israelis, whose agents on the ground not only located the warehouse, but apparently were able to examine the weapons inside, reported on them to the IDF. The information they provided was more than enough for the IDF to conclude that these weapons were of such superior quality as to pose a real danger to the Jewish state, and therefore the risk had to be run of attacking — destroying — them. Then, with the full backing of the Americans who had been warned of the attack in advance and did not object, Israel will simply power through any attacks in diplomatic fora by the usual suspects, beginning with the kangaroo court at the UN, with Israel perennially in the dock.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called on the United States and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire agreement struck in November, to compel Israel to stop its attacks.

Israel’s continued actions in undermining stability will exacerbate tensions and place the region at real risk, threatening its security and stability,” he said in a statement.

The Lebanese president would be wise to keep quiet. He knows that the only force capable of weakening Hezbollah so that it loses its grip on Lebanon is not the Lebanese National Army, but the IDF. Hitting Hezbollah weapons depots does not “undermine” stability in Lebanon, but creates the conditions for stability to be achieved. Lebanon is safer for the Lebanese because of the IDF’s attacks on Hezbollah outposts and weapons warehouses. Aoun has always been wary of Hezbollah, and he knows that every IDF attack on Hezbollah weakens the group and strengthens the position of those many Lebanese who, like Aoun himself, want the country rid of the Shi’a terrorist group. While President Aoun obviously cannot publicly recognize that truth, he might, in all decency, simply remain silent, and let the IDF do what it must to keep Hezbollah from ever again threatening the Jewish state.

Israel: ‘National emergency’ as fires spread after Hamas told Muslims to ‘burn whatever you can’

This has been a threat for years.

‘Unleash Hell’: New Al Qaeda magazine describes in detail how to start huge forest fires across the U.S., with instructions on how to make ’ember bombs’

Terrorism suspected in massive fires sweeping Israel, security source says,”

Media Line, April 30, 2025:

Terrorism is suspected in the wave of massive fires that have triggered a national emergency across parts of Israel, according to an unnamed Israeli security source speaking to The Media Line. The fires erupted on Tuesday, as the country marked Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism and prepared to transition into celebrations for its 77th Independence Day.

The source confirmed that several arrests have been made in connection with the suspected arson attacks, but declined to provide further details due to the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation.

The fires, intensified by strong winds and dry conditions, have led to the evacuation of numerous communities. Emergency services are battling to contain the blazes, which have already caused widespread property damage and forced road closures. No fatalities have been reported so far, but officials have warned that the situation remains dangerous and unpredictable.

“This is being treated as a national emergency,” the source said, pointing to evidence that suggests the fires were set deliberately and in a coordinated manner. The timing—on a day of national mourning followed immediately by celebrations of statehood—has raised concerns that the attacks were intended to provoke panic and undermine the national morale.

Hamas posted a message encouraging Palestinians to “burn whatever you can of groves, forests, and settler homes,” on Telegram on Wednesday.

“Youth of the West Bank, youth of Jerusalem, and those inside Israel, set their cars ablaze… Gaza awaits the revenge of the free,” the terrorist organization wrote.

Earlier, the Jenin News Network Telegram channel called on Palestinians to “burn the groves near the settlements” in a post on Telegram on Wednesday.

As the wildfires continue to burn across central Israel, the channel posted a photo of a masked person setting fire to a field as a town burns in the background, with the text “Settlers’ homes will be ashes under the feet of the revolutionaries” and the hashtag “Burn settlers’ houses.”…

BBC contributor calls for Gazans to burn Jews ‘like Hitler did’

Gaza-based BBC contributor, who has been featured over a dozen times on the media outlet since October 7th, 2023, called for massacres of Jews in past social media posts, urging Arabs to emulate Adolf Hitler’s Nazi regime.

By World Israel News Staff

A Gaza-based BBC Arabic contributor called for mass violence against Jews and appeared to laud German dictator Adolf Hitler in a series of social media posts which resurfaced over the weekend.

Samer Elzaenen, 33, has appeared on BBC Arabic over a dozen times since October 7th, 2023, according to a report published Saturday by The Telegraph, reporting from the scene of major events during the war including the daring IDF raid on Hamas safehouses in Nuseirat last June which led to the rescue of four Israeli hostages.

Saturday’s report revealed that Elzaenen has publicly endorsed violence against Jews for over a decade, using his social media presence to endorse mass killings and the emulation of the Nazi genocide of Jews in the 1930s and 1940s.

In May 2011, Elzaenen vowed on Facebook that Palestinian Arabs would engage in a Nazi-like mass murder of Jews.

“My message to the Zionist Jews: We are going to take our land back, we love death for Allah’s sake the same way you love life. We shall burn you as Hitler did, but this time we won’t have a single one of you left.”

“When things go awry for us, shoot the Jews, it fixes everything,” Elzaenen wrote in July 2022 on his Facebook account.

Saturday’s report also documented Elzaenen’s use of the pro-Hamas hashtag “#We Are All Hamas You Son of a Jewess.”

From the 2010s to the 2020s, Elzaenen explicitly endorsed or lauded over 30 terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, calling the attacks “heroic” and praising the terrorists who committed them.

For example, after a February 2023 ramming attack in which an Arab terrorist killed two small children and a man in northern Jerusalem, Elzaenen said the terror victims “will soon go to hell.”

After the invasion of Israel on October 7th, 2023, and the subsequent massacres, Elzaenen lauded the invading terrorists as “resistance fighters.”

The report also found similar comments by a second BBC Arabic contributor, Ahmed Qannan, who expressed hope that Israelis wounded in a terrorist attack on a synagogue in 2023 would succumb to their wounds.

The BBC responded to Saturday’s report by distancing itself from the two contributors, emphasizing that neither were staff members of the outlet.

“International journalists including the BBC are not allowed access into Gaza so we hear from a range of eyewitness accounts from the strip,” the BBC said in a statement.

“These are not BBC members of staff or part of the BBC’s reporting team. We were not aware of the individuals’ social media activity prior to hearing from them on air. We are absolutely clear that there is no place for anti-Semitism on our services.”

Earlier this month, The Telegraph revealed that another BBC Arabic contributor from the Gaza Strip, Ahmed Alagha, had lauded the October 7th massacres of Israelis and called Jews “devils.”

“And as we know, the ‘Israelis’ are not human beings to begin with, rather they are not even beasts. Perhaps they belong to a race for which no description can capture the extent of their lust and sadism,” Alagha wrote elsewhere.

Kristallnacht Revisited in Amsterdam > 5 Jews hospitalized, 62 arrested for attacking Jewish football fans

What happens when you invite tens of thousands of Jew-haters to come and live in a civilized country? Islam - the new Nazi.

At least 5 hospitalized, 62 arrested in attacks

on Israeli football fans in Amsterdam

Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters were attacked and assaulted in several places in Amsterdam after the football club’s match against Ajax on Thursday, mayor Femke Halsema confirmed on Friday morning. Five people were taken to the hospital and 62 people were arrested, the police said. NOS said that hospitals reported seven hospitalizations. The city authorities will hold a press conference with more information at noon.

According to the police, reports are circulating on social media regarding a possible hostage situation and missing persons. “We currently have no confirmation that this actually took place,” the Amsterdam police said on X. The police are investigating.

"Riot police had to intervene several times, protect Israeli supporters, and escort them to hotels,” Halsema said. “Despite the massive police presence in the city, Israeli supporters have been injured.”

“This outburst of violence towards Israeli supporters is unacceptable and cannot be defended in any way. There is no excuse for the antisemitic behavior exhibited last night by rioters who actively sought out Israeli supporters to attack and assault them,” Halsema said. She urged victims to report to the police and file a report.

The city is deploying extra police in the coming days “to monitor and control the situation.” Jewish institutions and objects will also get extra security.

The football club Maccabi Tel Aviv has urged its supporters to be careful in the Dutch capital, stay inside, and not wear anything that identifies them as Jewish or Israeli. According to the club, it is working with the Israeli government to arrange “rescue flights” for fans.

Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem, expressed “deep concern” and solidarity with the victims of the “unprovoked attack on Jews following the Maccabi Tel Aviv game in Amsterdam.” The organization called it “profoundly alarming to witness yet another act of violence targeting Jewish people,” especially with the anniversary of Kristallnacht coming up. “This incident underscores the alarming resurgence of antisemitism, a cancerous plague that has infiltrated every aspect of our society.”

Prime Minister Dick Schoof has condemned the “anti-Semitic attacks on Israeli citizens” and said he spoke to his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu about the matter. Netanyahu spoke of “extremely violent” attacks on his citizens.

The Islamization of Britain > With the generous help of Christian and Jew Leaders - Melanie Phillips

Justin Welby should have stepped down last year, he is completely out of touch with reality. His, and others approval of the ICJ ruling against Israel reveals an appalling lack of knowledge of Islam and history, not to mention antisemitism.

If Iran attacks Israel in the next few days or weeks, and Israel strikes back, we can look forward to an Islamic version of Kristallnacht in the UK and across Europe. And that will just be the beginning.

Welby, Mirvis, and Nichols will then realize that they are on the wrong side of history, and consequently, on the wrong side of both humanity and God!

The Archbishop of Cant

Justin Welby is siding with those who have abandoned civilisation for the surrender to barbarism

Aug 12, 2024

Last week the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, expressed his opinion on the anti-immigration riots that have been taking place in Britain. These disorders followed the murder of three little girls in a knife attack on a school dance class in Southport that left several others injured, an attack perpetrated by the British-born son of Rwandan immigrants.

Welby, who was joined in his statement by the Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis, the Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols, the Chief Imam of the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society, Dr Sayed Razawi and other faith leaders said that a “small minority has brought hatred, violence and vandalism to towns and cities across the country” with “anti-Muslim hatred and the targeting of mosques; asylum seekers and refugees attacked; violence directed towards the police and private property — all of which are a stain on our national moral conscience”. The proper response was to build  “a cohesive and harmonious society for all”.

A pious hope indeed. However, Archbishop Welby appears not to include in these urgent and indignant strictures hatred of Israel and the promulgation of demonising libels against the Jewish state which have led directly to attacks on British Jews. The reason, unfortunately, seems to lie in his own views.

Last month, Welby endorsed the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice that Israel's occupation of the “Palestinian territories” was illegal.  The ICJ’s opinion, which owed everything to politics and virtually nothing to law, was based on lies and distortions. As the international lawyer Natasha Hausdorff observed in the Telegraph

The value of that opinion is ultimately undermined by the weakness of its reasoning, the misapplication of international law and the false factual basis upon which it is predicated, admirably highlighted by the powerful Dissenting Opinion of the Court’s Vice President Julia Sebutinde.

The ICJ had adopted, she went on, the virulently politicised allegations made against Israel by the UN, the court’s parent body. The ICJ had called for the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Judea and Samaria (the “West Bank”) and Israel’s capital Jerusalem, and had thus trashed the political framework established in the 1990s by the Oslo Accords, endorsed by the international community, that seeks resolution through a bilateral negotiated final status agreement.

Despite this, Welby said

Having visited our Palestinian Christian brothers and sisters many times over recent decades, it is clear to me that the regime imposed by successive Israeli governments in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is one of systemic discrimination. Through annexing Palestinian land for illegal settlements, depriving Palestinians access to their own natural resources, and imposing a system of military rule that denies them safety and justice, the State of Israel has been denying the Palestinian people dignity, freedom and hope.

I am particularly aware of how this is impacting Palestinian Christians, threatening their future and viability. It is clear that ending the occupation is a legal and moral necessity.

This was a statement of staggering malice and ignorance. Israel is guilty of no discrimination. Its settlements are entirely legal under international law. The Palestinian Arabs live under their own governance in areas designated as such under the Oslo Accords. Israel’s military measures in these territories are undertaken solely to prevent even more slaughter of Israelis by the Palestinian Arabs who live there, and whose terrorist plots and murderous attacks nevertheless take place every day.

And far from threatening the “future and viability” of Palestinian Christians, Israel is the only country in the Middle East where they have religious freedom, are thriving and are increasing. In Bethlehem, the former Christian majority has been effectively run out of town and reduced to a rump not by Israel but by Bethlehem’s Palestinian Muslim governors.

Welby’s malice was itself put in the shade by the disgusting remarks made in the same month by Rachel Treweek, the Bishop of Gloucester. Not only did she lob the “apartheid state” calumny at Israel, but she also compared the “cruel and devastating” war in Gaza to the Holocaust and the October 7 slaughter of Israelis by Gaza Arabs and their “horrendous” taking of Israeli hostages.

Comparing Israel’s actions to the Nazis, as this bishop did, is unbridled antisemitism. To compare the barbaric slaughter of Israeli innocents to the just war Israel has had to undertake to prevent more such atrocities is moral bankruptcy of the highest order.

As Jonathan Turner, the chief executive of UK Lawyers for Israel, said

Reading the bishop’s article and much else these days, we feel like Jews of the Middle Ages, accused of poisoning wells and murdering Christian children to make unleavened bread for Passover.

These Christian clerics are parroting the lies and distortions spewed out by the Palestinian Arabs in order to delegitimise and destroy Israel, an infernal campaign that is constantly being amplified and facilitated by the western media — and now also by Britain’s new Labour government.

These modern blood libels, which incite murderous hatred of Israel and Jews, are directly responsible for the tsunami of anti-Jewish attacks in Britain and across the west. Yet Welby has now associated himself with this vile agenda. And he has done so at a time when Israel is fighting for its life against the genocidists of Iran and Hezbollah, who have subjected Israeli civilians to ten months of missile and rocket attacks and are threatening now to unleash a far greater onslaught that will kill untold thousands of Israeli civilians. What horrified condemnations of these genocidal war crimes and escalating belligerency has Welby issued? None.

The Archbishop’s remarks were so vicious in both content and timing that they elicited a rare public protest from one of his own priests, Giles Fraser, who has an Israeli wife and Jewish children. Fraser wrote in the Mail

But if archbishops do venture into more clearly political territory, they have to get it right. And given the long history of Christians saying stupid and downright wicked things about the Jewish people, it is doubly incumbent upon Christian leaders to demonstrate a great deal of sensitivity.

Take the term “occupation” which the Archbishop chooses to use. Yes, Israeli soldiers run the checkpoints and control much of what goes on in the West Bank. But why are they there?

Apart from the ideologically-driven settlers who are a whole different story, the reason Israel controls large parts of the West Bank is straightforwardly defensive: it really doesn't want to be there, it doesn't want its children serving or dying there, but this is where the threat comes from.

Abandoning the territory would create an undeniable risk. After Israel evacuated Gaza in 2005 — with the IDF dragging Israeli settlers out kicking and screaming — Hamas came to power only the following year.

Not only did Gazans suffer under the decades of repressive rule by Hamas, but Israel had to suffer a Palestinian government committed to the obliteration of the Jewish state. The appalling consequence of which was the October 7 massacre.

The greatest impediment to a two-state solution is that Israel is perfectly entitled to believe that a “liberated” Palestine, constituting Gaza and the West Bank, would become a launching pad for even more “from the river to the sea” genocidal murderousness.

And when the missiles once again rain down upon Tel Aviv, and when enemies invade from the north and the south, it won't be the ICJ in the Hague nor a Christian Archbishop in Canterbury that will protect them.

The Church of England has been hostile to Israel for years. It has adopted the anti-west, anti-Israel “liberation theology” of the global south, which unites it with the hard left in viewing Israel as the “colonialist” oppressors of the “indigenous” Arabs of the land of Israel. In fact, the indigenous people of the land are the Jews, and it is the Palestinian Arabs who are the would-be colonialist oppressors — as was the Muslim world of antiquity, when it formed one of the waves of occupiers of the Jewish kingdom of Judea after it was conquered and the majority of Jews were ethnically cleansed from the land.

In the recent riots, thuggish elements were rightly blamed for inciting public rage and violence against Muslim immigrants through falsehoods promoted on social media — untruths such as that the attacker who murdered the Southport children was a Muslim asylum-seeker and had even been on a security watchlist. This was totally untrue. The resulting riots, ignited by these incendiary falsehoods, have led to calls for draconian sanctions against “incitement” and “disinformation” on social media —  which obviously threatens a wholly illiberal crackdown on any opinions that go against the prevailing liberal consensus.

Yet other, regular incitement on the basis of falsehoods passes without any criticism from these same liberal quarters. The narrative promoted by the entire liberal establishment from the prime minister downwards and parroted by much of the media is that the counter-protesters who have taken to the streets against the “far right” rioters are “anti-racists”.

It is beyond doubt that thugs involved in those riots attacked Muslims and mosques, and even more appallingly tried to burn down an immigration centre with asylum-seekers inside it. Those crimes need to be punished with the full force of the law.

But others in those disturbances were pursuing a very different agenda.  Muslims took to the streets brandishing Palestinian flags and screaming for the destruction of Israel. Just as there were lynch-mobs threatening violence against Muslims, there were also Muslim lynch-mobs roaming the streets looking for “far right” white men to attack. Yet in Stoke-on-Trent, the police astoundingly responded to a Muslim mob carrying weapons not by arresting them for seeking violence but by asking them meekly to discard their weapons at the local mosque.

These Muslim mobs have been grotesquely represented as “anti-racist” protesters or condoned as necessary for Muslim defence. Since the Palestinian flag carried by many of these “counter-protesters” and the slogans they scream represent a cause that aims not only to destroy Israel but to write the Jewish people out of their own history, they symbolise not “anti-racism” but jihadi Islam, colonialism, Jew-hatred and ethnic cleansing. They reveal an agenda that has nothing to do with the defence of an ethnic minority and everything to do with aggression towards another one.

Yet astoundingly, so-called “progressives” ignore, deny and sanitise all this, even when it unfolds in front of their eyes. On Sky News, the journalist Becky Johnson had to abruptly end a live broadcast when men in balaclavas approached her screaming “Free Palestine” and slashing the tyres of a Sky van. Yet Jess Phillips, the government minister for “safeguarding and violence against women and girls”, excused these thugs “because it has been spread that racists were coming to attack them”.

The prime minister, Sir Keir Starmer, should have said that no violence or intimidation by any community is acceptable and that all will be held to account regardless of ethnicity. But he didn’t do that. He said instead that he would defend the Muslim community from attack, and he spoke only of “right-wing” thuggery. And his government is now under pressure to crack down on “Islamophobia” — thus potentially criminalising articles like this one.

This precisely embodies the double standards which have so badly upset so many people but which are obdurately denied by both government and police.

As several commentators have pointed out, many demonstrators in these recent riots were neither thugs nor the “far right”. They were just ordinary people who wanted to register a peaceful protest against mass uncontrolled immigration and what they perceived to be a double standard in policing and the excusing or denial of Muslim misdeeds.

Examples of this double standard include the response to Islamist terrorist attacks which denies they have anything to do with Islam and which, after such attacks, prioritises defence of the Muslim community against “Islamophobia;” the classification of any criticism of Islam or the Muslim community as “Islamophobia;” the two decades of official denial of Muslim rape and pimping “grooming gangs” — offences which still continue; the apparent official indifference towards outrages such as the death threats against the Batley grammar school teacher who showed his class on free speech the images of Mohammed that precipitated jihadi murder around the world and who remains in hiding for his life as a result; the Manchester Airport incident in which a police officer caused justifiable outrage by kicking a prone Muslim in the head but where video footage emerged after almost 24 hours of the unprovoked and vicious attacks on the police by the Muslim and his family that preceded this; or the fact that the Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, struck a far more conciliatory tone over the riots by Romanies and other minorities in Harehills, Leeds after the removal of children for their own safety from a Roma family than the vindictive outrage she expressed over the “far right” white riots.

Moreover, as Britain’s Jewish defence organisation the Community Security Trust notes in a new report, there has been a 41 per cent increase in assaults on Jews between January and June this year. The ethnicity of offenders was recorded in under a third of cases, of whom 44 per cent were white, 30 per cent Arab or North African, 14 per cent South Asian and 12 per cent black. These percentages far outweigh the proportion of Arab, Asian or black people in Britain at 0.5 per cent, nine per cent and 3.7 per cent respectively.

The government’s one-eyed, ruthlessly anti-white response to the riots, ignoring or excusing Muslim or other ethnic minority aggression as well as promoting falsehood-driven, exterminatory hostility to Israel, suggests that tragically Britain is now sealing its fate as a state whose moral bankruptcy signals its eventual disintegration.

It’s generally assumed that, since so few in Britain are now Christian believers, what the church says or does is irrelevant. Nothing could be further from the truth. Religion, or its absence, makes or unmakes a society. What the Church of England says is still a major influence in making the cultural weather. In promoting incendiary falsehoods against Israel and echoing the government’s craven double standards while it ignores or trashes the reasonable and justified concerns of millions, the Archbishop of Canterbury is not just a disgrace to his church and the despair of millions of decent Christians. He is siding with those who have abandoned civilisation for the surrender to barbarism.
