Police officer injured after two cars are lit on fire outside French synagogue in ‘terrorist’ act
by Olivia Land, New York Post, August 24, 2024:
French President Emmanuel Macron called Saturday’s suspected arson attack on a synagogue in southern France a “terrorist act” — as authorities increased security at Jewish houses of worship around the country.
A police officer was hurt when two parked cars outside the Beth Yaacov synagogue in La Grande-Motte, near Montpellier, were set on fire Saturday morning.
It was not immediately clear how many people were inside the synagogue at the time of the fire….

Attack on a synagogue in La Grande-Motte:
the suspect on the run was carrying a Palestinian flag
translated from “[Info VA] Attentat contre une synagogue à la Grande-Motte : le suspect en fuite portait un drapeau palestinien,” Valeurs Actuelles, August 24, 2024 (thanks to Medforth):
According to Gérald Darmanin, the resigning Minister of the Interior, on his X account, two vehicles were set on fire this morning around 8:30 a.m. in front of the Beth Yaacov synagogue, located on allée André Malraux in La Grande-Motte (Hérault). A gas cylinder also reportedly exploded, and the doors of the place were set ablaze. Firefighters and gendarmes quickly intervened. A municipal police officer was injured during the incident. The Lunel intervention brigade, in Hérault, is in charge of the investigation.
According to BFMTV, video surveillance images show a suspicious individual leaving the premises shortly before the fire started.
“The suspect is Arab with a Palestinian flag tied around his waist and a handgun on his belt,” a source from internal intelligence told Valeurs Actuelles. The anti-terrorism sub-directorate (Sdat) and the national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office (Pnat) have been notified.
A municipal police officer working to establish a security system was injured following an explosion whose cause remains unknown. Bomb disposal experts are currently on site, and the gendarmes from the investigation unit of the Hérault group have been mobilized to make initial observations.
“The municipal police officer injured by the explosion was blasted, he is suffering from pain in his ribs, he is at the university hospital and waiting to have a scan,” a police source told Valeurs actuelles. His prognosis is not life-threatening.
The mayor of La Grande-Motte, Stéphane Rossignol, and the department’s prefect, François-Xavier Lauch, are also going to the scene. “I have asked the police and gendarmes to strengthen the security of Jewish places and institutions in the department,” the prefect assured.
French police arrest suspect over fire attack
on synagogue
French police have arrested a suspect over an arson attack on a synagogue after a shootout in which the man was wounded, investigative sources told French media on Sunday. The blaze in the southern French city of la Grande-Motte slightly injured a policeman when a gas bottle exploded as police secured the site of the attack on Saturday morning.
Issued on:
French police have arrested a man suspected of trying to set a synagogue ablaze in the southern French city of la Grande-Motte on Saturday, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said.
About 200 police officers had been hunting for the suspect, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal said earlier, adding that the attacker had set fire to several entry doors to the synagogue and several cars nearby.
BFM TV said the suspect was a 33-year-old Algerian. Local police declined to give details.
The anti-terrorism prosecutor's office, which was put in charge of the investigation, said early on Sunday that a suspect had been arrested in Nîmes on Saturday evening.
"Before the police could intervene, (the suspect) opened fire on the (police), which returned fire. The man was wounded in the face," the office said in a statement, adding that two other people were taken into custody.
A policeman was slightly injured when a gas bottle exploded as police secured the site of the attack on Saturday morning, Attal said.
"This is an antisemitic attack. Once more, our Jewish compatriots are targeted," Attal said on X. "In the face of antisemitism, in the face of violence, we will never allow ourselves to be intimidated."
After visiting the synagogue, Attal said an "absolute tragedy" had been narrowly averted after firefighters and police arrived quickly at the scene.
Local media reported earlier that the suspect had set fire to two cars, one of which contained at least one gas bottle, in the synagogue's parking area at about 8:30 a.m. (0630 GMT).
Police protection of synagogues, and Jewish schools and shops would be stepped up across France, the government said.
France, like other countries in Europe, has seen a surge in antisemitic incidents following the Hamas attack on Israel on Oct. 7 and Israel's retaliatory assault on Gaza.
Le Parisien, franceinfo and other media said the suspect had been seen on CCTV shortly before the attack with a Palestinian flag tied round his waist.
"Exploding a gas bottle in a car in front of the Grande Motte synagogue at the expected time of arrival of the faithful: it's not just attacking a place of worship, it's an attempt to kill Jews," Yonathan Arfi, who leads the CRIF, an umbrella organisation of French Jewish groups, said on X.
La Grande-Motte is a port and resort city on the French Mediterranean coast.

Refugee from Syria surrenders, confesses to stabbing attack in Germany, police say
Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A 26-year-old man, who is a refugee from Syria, has confessed to a mass knife attack at a street festival in Germany, police said Sunday.
Police officers on Sunday lead the Solingen knife attack suspect out of the helicopter to his arraignment at the Federal Supreme Court in Karlsruhe, Germany. Photo by Ronald Wittek/EPA-EFELate Saturday, German authorities said a male suspect was arrested in connection with stabbing attack Friday in Solingen, Germany, during a "Festival of Diversity" that killed three and injured eight others.
"The man we've really been looking for the whole day has just been taken into custody," Herbert Reul, the interior minister of North Rhine-Westphalia state, told ARD public TV late on Saturday.
The Islamic State militant group earlier Saturday claimed responsibility for the attack in a post on Telegram. The killings were "in revenge for Muslims in Palestine and everywhere," Islamic State said.
"The involvement of this person is currently under intensive investigation," prosecutors and Düsseldorf police said Sunday.
A police spokesman said during a news conference "after evaluating the initial images, we assume that it was a very targeted attack on the neck."
The suspect surrendered himself in dirty blood-stained clothes, Germany's Bild and Spiegel news websites reported.
He was seen dragged from a helicopter to his arraignment at the Federal Supreme Court in Karlsruhe, Germany by federal police officers.
He reportedly arrived in Germany in December 2022, after leaving the war-torn country and seeking asylum.
Special task force officers stormed a refugee center that the suspect was associated with, detaining another person there, Bild reported. The center is less than 1,000 feet from Fronhof-Solingen's central market square where people were stabbed.
The dead are two men, ages 56 and 67, and a 56-year-old woman.
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy but said he is not the prime suspect. The teen was arrested after two women reported hearing him and another person discussing the attack.
Friday was the first day of the three-day event that celebrates the 650th anniversary of the founding of the city of Solingen in western Germany. It has around 160,000 residents.
Germany: Muslims demonstrate outside
Nuremberg cathedral
Demonstrations of this kind are a declaration of the Muslims’ permanent presence in Europe, and their imminent takeover. Western politicians, however, remain oblivious to the implications of such displays, which is understandable in light of the fact that admitting those implications would amount to an indictment of their immigration policies going back decades.

Montbéliard: a 12-year-old child found guilty of glorifying terrorism
translated from “Montbéliard : un enfant de 12 ans reconnu coupable d’apologie du terrorisme,” Le Figaro, August 21, 2024 (thanks to Medforth):
The young boy’s online activities, who recorded more than 1,700 propaganda or massacre videos, attracted the attention of the authorities.
A 12-year-old boy, whose online activities alerted the authorities, was found guilty on Wednesday of advocating acts of terrorism, announced the public prosecutor of Montbéliard Paul-Edouard Lallois. Since December 2023, the boy, “presenting significant vulnerabilities”, had recorded more than 1,700 videos of propaganda or massacres of a jihadist nature. He also shared them through several encrypted messaging services, Paul-Edouard Lallois recalled during a press conference.
“Radical Islamism”During a closed hearing of nearly four hours before the juvenile judge, he admitted to having become interested in Islam, then to having fallen into discussion channels such as Discord and Telegram. “He was able to participate in discussions relating to radical Islamism and explained to us on several occasions that he had been recruited,” said the prosecutor, who had announced in early July the opening of proceedings against the child. Given his young age, the boy, who lives in Sochaux (Doubs), could not be placed under judicial supervision since then. He is therefore subject to provisional educational judicial measures before the criminal sanction is pronounced. This will happen in seven months, the prosecutor specified. For the moment, the boy, separated from his family, is placed in a collective structure under the judicial protection of youth, where he benefits from care and educational measures. His parents, who have been cleared of any wrongdoing, are separated. The minor lived with his mother with the rest of the siblings. A discreet child, withdrawn into himself, he had not made a name for himself in his school or outside “whether as a defendant or a victim,” the magistrate explained. It was his activity on the internet that attracted the attention of investigators.
UK: Politician held without bail for calling on
Northern Ireland to ‘stop the spread of evil Islam’
Stitt, 53, from Bangor, was arrested at Belfast City Airport after arriving on a flight on Thursday evening.
He didn’t realize that the UK had become a totalitarian police state in his absence.
This is, of course, the direction in which Western nations have been tending for years. The UK is just the first to arrive. The entire “Islamophobia” enterprise was and is an endeavor to stigmatize and silence criticism of Islam, including violent jihad and Sharia oppression. Now we come to this: “People who hold that view,” that is, the view that Islam is evil in whole or part, “are the ones who are a threat to our society, not the hard-working people from whatever community who increasingly contribute to our society.”
But what if there are aspects of Islam that are evil, such as jihad violence, beating of women, polygamy, female genital mutilation, killing dogs, the permissibility of the sexual use and enslavement of infidel women, and so much more? Such views are not allowed to be heard in the UK. You’ll be imprisoned without bail, and no doubt placed at the mercy of jihadi prisoners.
Prominent Loyalist Dee Stitt allegedly made social media post calling for NI to ‘stop the spread of evil Islam'
by David Young, Belfast Live, August 23, 2024:
Prominent Northern Ireland loyalist David ‘Dee’ Stitt has been refused bail after appearing in court charged with publishing material with the intent of stirring up hatred.
Stitt, 53, from Bangor, was arrested at Belfast City Airport after arriving on a flight on Thursday evening….
The charge relates to a single post on Facebook on July 31 where Stitt shared a copy-and-pasted call for protests across Northern Ireland in response to the murder of three young girls in Southport.
The court heard that the post urged people to bring the country to a “standstill” and listed several protest times and venues in Northern Ireland and advised demonstrators to ensure women and children were at the front of the events.
It also referred to the “Christian west” being “under siege” and claimed that people had “one chance” to “stop the spread of evil Islam”.
Refusing Stitt’s bail application, Judge Keown said, “We have seen over the last number of weeks the consequences of words such as this”.
The judge said there was “no hierarchy” of individuals within the community and said there was a “fundamental problem” with regard to people who viewed some religions as evil.
This kind of comment can only be made by someone who believes all religions are madness.
“People who hold that view are the ones who are a threat to our society, not the hard-working people from whatever community who increasingly contribute to our society,” he added.
He refused Stitt bail on the grounds of the risk of reoffending and a risk to the public….
He's not as big a risk to the public as godless people like Judge Keown are. IMHO. One message a month ago, and he's a danger to society. What madness!

Osama Bin Laden ally could be FREED back onto the streets of Britain as parole bid launched
by Jack Walters, GB News, August 23, 2024:
A key ally of Osama Bin Laden could be freed from prison in just a few weeks.
Rangzieb Ahmed, 47, will launch a fresh bid for freedom next month alongside 45-year-old Islamic State fanatic Mohammed Zahir Khan.
The two separate parole boarding hearings will be held within the space of 24 hours.
Ahmed’s case will commence on September 25, with Khan taking his first step to freedom the following day.
Rangzieb Ahmed was jailed in 2008 for plotting mass murder and was caught with a book of terror contacts written in invisible ink, and a rucksack which contained traces of explosivesPAHowever, a leading terrorism expert urged officials not to free either of them.Chris Phillips, the former head of the National Counter Terrorism Security Office said: “It’s madness to be considering this.
“Public safety will be at risk if either of these men are released.
“You have to question whether it will ever be safe for either of them to walk the streets again.”
The hearings come after Labour announced it was preparing to release criminals early to free up spaces.
Ahmed, who was born in Rochdale, was named as Al-Qaeda’s UK chief and Bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe….
“Parole reviews are undertaken thoroughly and with extreme care. Protecting the public is our number one priority.”
No, it isn’t.
It is certainly not the government's priority. Keeping Muslims safe and happy is their Teir 1 priority.

No media coverage whatsoever. Why, news of this kind could spoil the UK’s celebrations of diversity, and make people wonder why Dee Stitt and others like him are in prison.
