Military Madness > CIA finds proxy to invade Iran; Iranian war will not be brief, the Shia think they are fighting for the whole world

The CIA is the world's premier intelligence group, at least when it comes to recruiting proxies to overthrow undesirable governments. Whether it is Central or South America, Ukraine, the Baltics, or Iran, the CIA will find someone willing to fight on their behalf and keep the war inventory moving without spilling much American blood. I wonder who is paying for the weapons this time?

CIA reportedly arming Kurdish forces as ground troops to help foment ‘popular uprising in Iran’

The Islamic Republic of Iran is infamous for waging proxy wars and multi-front wars. Now it is faced with a formidable confrontation from opponents who are bombarding it from the sea and the air, and now may challenge it on the ground.

It remains to be seen whether the Islamic Republic of Iran’s staunch allies, such as Russia and China, or its proxies, such as the Houthis of Yemen, will engage. Prediction: likely not. All China cares about is its economy, Russia has merely issued a condemnation from afar, but is likely hoping that the conflict with Iran will tie up resources to aid Ukraine for an extended period. And the Houthis, according to Middle East Eye:

“The Houthis are still studying the situation and will make their decision based on the challenges facing Iran,” Fatehi bin Lazreq, editor of the Aden al-Ghad newspaper, told Middle East Eye. “If they determine that the threat to the Iranian regime is existential, they will decide to fully engage in the war.”

Should the Houthis engage, they, too, will face existential threat.

The war is expanding, as was to be expected, and already underway is an as yet unpredictable longterm shift in regional dynamics. According to the Associated Press, “The Kurdish groups are widely seen as the most well-organized segment of the fragmented Iranian opposition and are believed to have thousands of trained fighters. Their entry into the war could pose a significant challenge to the embattled authorities in Tehran and could also risk pulling Iraq further into the conflict.”

CIA working to arm Kurdish forces, aims to spark uprising against Iran regime – report

by Jacob Laznik, Jerusalem Post, March 4, 2026:

The CIA is working to arm Kurdish forces with the aim of fomenting a popular uprising in Iran, multiple people familiar with the plan told CNN.

The Trump administration has been in active discussions with Iranian opposition groups and Kurdish leaders in Iraq about providing them with military support, the sources said.

Iranian Kurdish armed groups have thousands of forces operating along the Iraq-Iran border, primarily in Iraq’s Kurdistan region. Several of the groups have released public statements since the beginning of the war, hinting at imminent action and urging Iranian military forces to defect.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been striking Kurdish groups and said it targeted Kurdish forces with dozens of drones, CNN reported.

Trump spoke with the president of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI), Mustafa Hijri, according to a senior Iranian Kurdish official cited by CNN. KDPI was one of the groups targeted by the IRGC.

Iranian Kurdish opposition forces are expected to take part in a ground operation in Western Iran in the coming days, the senior Iranian Kurdish official told CNN….

While it looks, at first glance, like most Persians want the theocratic government to disappear from Tehran, there are still millions of devout Iranians who support it. A civil war between the two sides could be prolonged and very ugly, as the Shia devotees will not easily give up on the idea of forming a global caliphate, especially now that they have nearly conquered Europe.

Iranian TV host weeps over Khamenei’s death, while Australian host of Iranian heritage says ‘burn in hell’

In stark contrast to Rita Panahi, here is an Islamic Republic of Iran loyalist, Iranian Channel 1 TV host Hassan Soltani blubbering over Khamenei’s death:

Many leftist politicians (such as French President Emmanuel Macron and Spain’s socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez), and their leftist media activist counterparts are shielding the Iranian Islamic regime. They prioritize partisanship over all else, including the national security of their own countries and that of other Western allies. The suffering of Iranian dissidents inside Iran, with over 36 thousand people slaughtered in the streets, matters little to them.

The deep feelings of Hassan Soltani showcase the extent of his commitment to the regime, and there are many like him, unfortunately, living in Western countries.

Iranian TV Host Breaks Down Weeping Announcing Death Of Supreme Leader Khamenei

MEMRI, March 3, 2026:

Iranian Channel 1 TV host Hassan Soltani broke down crying while announcing the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a March 1, 2026 broadcast. He described Khamenei as “the sublime and celestial spirit of the indomitable mountain, which is the Guardian, the compassionate father of the nation,” and said that he has “drunk the nectar of martyrdom.

“Hassan Soltani: “Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! ‘Among the believers there are men who were true to the pledge they made to Allah. Some of them died, others are still awaiting, but they have not changed in the least.’ ‘We belong to Allah…’ ‘We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.'”

After a life of ceaseless and indefatigable Jihad in the path of Hussein, the sublime and celestial spirit of the indomitable mountain, which is the Guardian, the compassionate father of the nation, the Leader and Imam of the Muslims, the honorable Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei, has drunk the nectar of martyrdom, in honor of the temple of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and has joined the highest kingdom. We send our blessings to the sublime spirit of the late Imam [Khomeini], and to his worthy successor, the great Leader, the most honorable martyr, the Grand Ayatollah Imam Khomeini… [Rather], Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei.”…

Middle East Madness > Syria's Emerging Intolerance

Syria: Muslims chant ‘Take us to Suwayda,’

where jihadis slaughtered Druze

The lad brandishing the huge pair of scissors is celebrating the jihadis’ humiliation of Druze elders by forcibly shaving their beards.

Anyway, where is the Vast Majority of Peaceful Muslims, exhorting these people to embrace the true, peaceful teachings of Islam?

Middle East Madness > Arab Clan declares war on Hamas in Gaza

Arab Clan Leader in Gaza Declares Open War on Hamas

Yasser Abu Shabab is the leader of one of the largest clans in Gaza, and is fighting against Hamas. More on him can be found here:

‘No stopping a civil war against Hamas,’

Gaza militia chief Abu Shabab tells KAN

Jerusalem Post, July 7, 2025:

Yasser Abu Shabab, leader of the allegedly Israel-backed, anti-Hamas Popular Forces group, revealed to Israeli public broadcaster KAN on Sunday that his militia is actively working against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, particularly operating in the Rafah area.

“There is no stopping a civil war against Hamas,” Abu Shabab said in the interview.

He told KAN that those who comprise his militia do not belong to any political or organizational ideology. However, Abu Shabab told Army Radio in an interview last month that he denied working with Israel and confirmed his group’s relationship with the Palestinian Authority. In that interview, he said that he wouldn’t rule out cooperating with the IDF on issues such as humanitarian aid distribution in the future….

Abu Shabab may deny working with Israel, but he is believed to have accepted weapons from the IDF; for obvious reasons, he keeps quiet about that. And he knows that his forces, and the IDF, share a common goal: to fight against and destroy Hamas. He has also said that he could see his group cooperating with the IDF on the distribution of humanitarian aid and similar issues, no doubt including the rebuilding of hospitals and schools. He claims to be open to people of all ideologies — except for Hamas, which is the Gazan branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. He also said that he has a relationship to the Palestinian Authority, which is Hamas’ bitter enemy, but offered no details.

He’s blaming Hamas, not Israel, for the Gaza War, and the misery that the war that Hamas started on October 7, 2023 has brought to so many people in Gaza. The “aggression” he deplores is that of Hamas, not the IDF. It’s a remarkable statement from a Palestinian leader in Gaza.

Abu Shabab is known to be receiving military assistance from Israel. Financial assistance — to pay his men — may come from the Arab enemies of Hamas, including the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, whose leaders would not want a Gazan enclave ruled by an affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that is a direct threat to the Arab monarchies of the Gulf. Logistical support, however, could only come from the IDF, that has mapped out every part of Gaza and knows the positions, the weapons, the command-and-control centers, of all the forces belonging to Hamas.

Abu Shabab claimed that after Hamas leaves power, the Popular Forces will rule the enclave afterwards. “Hamas knows and understands this; the Popular Forces will be the heirs in Gaza after they are crushed and defeated,” KAN quoted him….

The Popular Forces is the name being given to the collective of local clans opposed to Hamas, of which the Abu Shabab’s clan is one part, albeit one of the most powerful.

Keenly aware of Hamas’ weakness, and of his own clan’s power — it has many hundreds of fighters, with more recruits, including non-family members, streaming in to join the group in its war with Hamas, and has been well provided with arms by the IDF — Abu Shabab is simply going to let the ultimatum pass. He knows Hamas is no longer capable of imposing its will on the powerful families like his own.

Hamas won’t dare to attack him when the ten-day ultimatum ends. It knows that if it is bloodied by Abu Shabab and his men, the humiliation will be so great as to efface completely whatever little authority it had left. Hamas doesn’t want to risk it. But in failing to enforce its own ultimatum, it will also be humiliated. In Gaza, what’s to come is still unsure, but one thing is certain: Hamas will be out of the picture, militarily and politically, and very likely, physically as well.
