Terrorism Around the World > Manhattan Lunatic stabs Rabbi with needle; Apparent anti-Islam sub-machine gun attack in France; Muslim arrested after assaults on Jewish women in London

Maniac busted for stabbing rabbi with syringe in NYC — as cops reveal she attacked another Jewish victim minutes later

The hateful lunatic who stabbed a rabbi with a syringe in the Diamond District was nabbed Saturday — as officials revealed she attacked another Jewish man just minutes later.

Anna Mochalova, 32, was arrested and slapped with a slew of charges, including assault as a hate crime, for the terrifying spree that began with the jabbing of a young rabbi in Midtown Manhattan, prosecutors said at her arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court on Sunday.

The alleged bigot began to stalk Yosef, a 26-year-old rabbi, who is seen in surveillance video wearing traditional Orthodox garb, before stabbing him in the back with a needle near West 47th Street and Fifth Avenue on Wednesday at 5:50 p.m., according to prosecutors.

Anna Mochalova, 32, was arrested and slapped with a slew of charges, including assault as a hate crime, for stalking and jabbing Yosef, a 26-year-old rabbi, in the back with a needle last week.

Possible Anti-Islam terrorist attack in France

According to Grok:

France: Trappes and La Verrière shootings (23 October 2026)

A 39-year-old man (identified in French media as Kévin T. or Kevin T.) carried out a drive-by shooting spree in the Paris suburbs of Trappes and La Verrière (Yvelines). He fired from a car (using a Sten-type submachine gun) at multiple locations including a petrol station, medical centre area, and near a playground, in a roughly 15–20 minute rampage involving an estimated 128 rounds across about eight scenes.

  • One person was killed: Pengo Bassio/Bossio Wangi, a 26-year-old of Congolese origin described as an amateur MMA prospect.
  • Several others were injured (reports range from 5 to 7, with multiple seriously or critically hurt), including a 12-year-old girl of North African descent who was shot eight times. Other victims were reported as having African or Maghrebi/North African origins; some women wore headscarves.

The suspect was arrested shortly afterward, had cannabis and cocaine in his system, and was placed under psychiatric observation. Items including a copy of Mein Kampf were reported found at his home (along with a Bible and Quran in some accounts). The case remains under investigation; political leaders across the spectrum condemned the attack.

United Kingdom: Assaults on Jewish women in London (around 19–20 October 2026)

In the Stamford Hill/Clapton Common area of Hackney (north-east London), three Orthodox Jewish women were assaulted in a series of incidents treated by the Metropolitan Police as a suspected antisemitic hate crime. One victim was punched while pushing a baby in a pram; others were slapped or punched in the face. Injuries were described as minor (with at least one case of significant bruising).

A 33-year-old man (Abdisamad Siad) was arrested after being detained by Jewish volunteer security group Shomrim volunteers. He was charged with three counts of assault by beating (racially/religiously aggravated aspects noted). Police increased patrols in the area. The suspect was also linked to a separate unrelated assault allegation.

Saudi Arabia's highest court throws out death sentence for blasphemy

If this had happened in Pakistan, the judges would have been shot dead by now.

Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Saudi Arabia's highest court on Wednesday threw out a death sentence handed to a 27-year-old Sri Lankan guest worker over a Facebook post offending Islam, said Sri Lankan Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra.

A Saudi appellate court imposed the sentence in September after finding Anojan Sivarasa guilty of blasphemy against Islam and the Prophet Muhammad in September, sparking outrage among Sri Lankans and international human rights groups and prompting an intensive diplomatic campaign on his behalf.

Thanking Saudi authorities for their cooperation, Hemachandra said the outcome was due to the "sustained diplomatic and legal efforts" of Sri Lanka's ambassador, officials of the foreign and overseas workers' ministries and legal teams in both countries.

Sivarasa is alleged to have posted a comment in his native Tamil insulting the Prophet Muhammad in response to a derogatory post about a Hindu deity during a heated online exchange over religion in June.

Sivarasa removed the post and issued an apology but was arrested in July.

Sri Lankan member of parliament Faizer Mustafa, who was involved in the legal negotiations with Riyadh, told the BBC's Sinhala-language service that the death sentence had been set aside and that the Supreme Court's judgment was in the process of being reviewed.

Human Rights Watch criticized what it said was Saudi Arabia's use of unprecedented sentences for speech-related infractions.

"Saudi authorities should end their use of abusive laws to hand out extraordinary sentences for speech-related offenses, especially against migrant workers who are already in a vulnerable position with limited protections," Human Rights Watch senior Saudi Arabia researcher Joey Shea said Tuesday.

It was unclear if or how Wednesday's reprieve in the Supreme Court affects other criminal sanctions imposed on Sivarasa by the lower courts, including a five year prison sentence and an $800,000 fine.

Terrorism Around the World > Teen kills four at Oregon el school; Kid shoots teacher and Headmaster in Marseille area

Teen gunman kills four at US elementary school

Three children and a teacher were killed in Bend, Oregon, before a bystander shot the attacker dead

Teen gunman kills four at US elementary school

A teenage gunman killed three students and a teacher at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on Thursday, police said. The shooter was himself shot dead by a bystander.

The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old Bend resident, the city’s police chief, Mike Krantz, said at a news conference. He did not reveal the suspect’s name or say whether he knew anyone at the school.

The three children killed were aged five, eight and 11. A seven-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher were hospitalized in critical condition.

Krantz said the gunman was shot by a “community member who had seen the suspect enter the school and pursued him into the school and engaged him.”

The school has been placed on lockdown, and the Bend Police Department has urged the public to avoid the area.

According to The Source Weekly, parents received alerts that nearby schools, including Caldera High School and Jewell Elementary School, had also been placed on lockdown following a police alert at around 1:20 p.m. Thursday. The lockdowns were lifted about 40 minutes later.

Video from the scene shows multiple police cars and ambulances near the school.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau’s local office was working with investigators. “We will make every resource they need available,” he wrote on X.

“Today is an awful day for our community,” Bend Mayor Melanie Kebler said. “A school should be a safe place where children can learn and feel secure,” she added, expressing condolences to the victims’ families.

The shooting comes amid continuing concerns over gun violence at US schools. In August 2025, a gunman opened fire on children attending Mass at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, killing two students, aged eight and ten, and injuring 17 other people before taking his own life.

Teen wounds headmaster and teacher after opening fire at French school

France

Two teaching staff were shot and wounded by a 14-year-old boy armed with a hunting rifle at a school in Aubagne near Marseille Monday morning, French Education Minister ‌Édouard Geffray said. Authorities said the teenager's father had been taken into custody and that there did not seem to be any link to the student protests that have swept across the country in recent weeks.

A 14-year-old boy opened fire with a hunting rifle at a middle school in France on Monday, injuring the headmaster and a teacher before being disarmed by a member of staff, local authorities said.

The shooting took place at Joseph-Lakanal middle school in the southern town of Aubagne, near Marseille, where a third person was grazed by gunfire, police said.

Authorities said there did not appear to be a link with high school protests that have rocked France in recent weeks.

"The middle school was not affected by the high school students' protest," police told AFP.

The suspect "came in carrying a bag which was a guitar case. He clearly removed a weapon from this guitar case – a long gun, a hunting rifle," said Marseille's deputy public prosecutor Audrey Jouaneton.

He fired at least four shots, including inside a classroom occupied by teachers and pupils, leaving a mark on a blackboard, she added.

The headmaster, 53, and teacher, 37, were not in critical condition, according to authorities.

"The suspect, for reasons as yet unknown, fired at the headteacher, who was hit by a shower of pellets in the thighs and lower back," said Jacques Witkowski, prefect of the wider Bouches-du-Rhône region.

He then fired at a second teacher, who was hit by buckshot in the thigh before a member of staff disarmed him, he said.

Obviously, it was a shotgun, not a hunting rifle, that he used.

The suspect "is not known for any history of delinquency or radicalisation," Witkowski added.

Sarah, a pupil at the school, told AFP she heard the fire alarm go off during her Spanish lesson and went into the corridor, where she and her classmates "bumped into" the gunman.

"He started shooting and said: 'I've only come for the teachers, not for the pupils,'" she said.

An investigation into attempted murder has been opened.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez, who visited the scene, said the suspect's father had been taken into custody.

Investigators were "trying to understand how this young person ended up in a position with this gun", Nunez told reporters.

'Prevent the worst'

French President Emmanuel Macron on X praised the teaching staff for their quick reaction.

"I commend the composure and exemplary response of the teaching staff, which helped to prevent the worst from happening," he said.

Nunez and Education Minister Édouard Geffray, arrived at the scene Monday afternoon.

Geffray called for action against such violence.

"This unacceptable act is yet further evidence of the rise of unchecked violence in our society, against which we must all take a stand," Geffray said on X.

There has been a spate of violent incidents at French schools in recent months, prompting bag checks on entry in some establishments.

Islam in America > FBI arrest 18 y/o ISIS would-be massacrer for Mall of America plot

FBI arrests man, 18, in alleged Mall of America mass shooting plot for ISIS

FBI agents arrested an 18-year-old man accused of plotting a terror attack on the Mall of America after monitoring him for nearly two years and supplying him with the AK-47 he planned to use, authorities said Wednesday.

The 18-year-old, identified as Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud, of Richfield, Minn., had been on the FBI’s radar since December 2024, when he began trading hundreds of messages with a confidential informant through multiple social media and messaging applications, according to the criminal complaint.

The complaint alleges that Mohamud said he initially expressed an interest in travelling to Somalia to fight for designated foreign terrorist organization al-Shabab militants.

As his plans to attack the mall solidified, the complaint says, agents sold him the gun and ammunition on Tuesday and arrested him on the spot after he paid US$600 to the undercover FBI employee posing as a member of the Islamic State group for the rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition.

Mohamud was charged by complaint with one count of knowingly receiving a firearm and ammunition in order to commit a federal crime of terrorism, U.S. Office of Public Affairs announced on Wednesday.

“This individual allegedly obtained a weapon he hoped to use in a mass casualty attack in support of ISIS, but this FBI arrested him and put a stop to his plans,” FBI Director Kash Patel said.

“Once again this FBI is moving more effectively than we ever have before at stopping terrorists before they can attack Americans – with over 1,100 individuals prevented from conducting attacks, over 4,000 foreign terrorist organization related disruptions and arrests, a 38% increase, and more,” Patel added.

“We will continue to use every resource we have to detect and prevent acts of terrorism and wipe out their networks all over the country,” Patel continued, adding, “Thank you to FBI Minneapolis who did an outstanding job in the investigation and likely saved lives.”

Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg said that Mohamud allegedly sought to carry out a “mass-casualty shooting at the Mall of America, expressing a desire to emulate some of the most horrific ISIS-inspired attacks in the United States, including the atrocities at Pulse Nightclub and 2025 New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans.”

“The National Security Division will continue to work closely with the FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force to track down and prosecute ISIS-inspired terrorists in the United States,” Eisenberg added.

According to the complaint, Mohamud allegedly stated many times that if he was unable to travel overseas because of a lack of funds, he planned to carry out a mass casualty event in Minnesota in support of ISIS on Oct. 24, the date of a scheduled arts celebration by the Hmong community, Minnesota’s largest Asian ethnic group.

“In July 2026, Mohamud sent messages discussing his intent to carry out a mass-casualty shooting attack at the Mall of America because he claimed it was owned by Jews. He wrote that wanted to kill 30 to 60 people so no one would go there,” the U.S. Office of Public Affairs said.

In August and September 2026, Mohamud continued to send messages discussing his intentions, including his plans to allegedly purchase a firearm and to recruit others to join him in committing the attack. Mohamud sent a selfie-style video of himself pledging allegiance to ISIS, according to the complaint, which included a screenshot of Mohamud’s video.

When the informant asked if he was serious about committing the attack, Mohamud replied, “yes i am 100% sure,” the complaint said, and added: “I would have backed out by now if I wasn’t sure.”

During the sale of the firearm and ammunition, Mohamud “reaffirmed his plan to use the firearm and ammunition to shoot people at the Mall of America,” according to the complaint.

“As alleged in the criminal complaint, Mohamud took substantial steps to plot to murder innocent people in the name of ISIS,” said U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen for the District of Minnesota. “Such threats are taken seriously, and I commend the committed public servants of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the FBI, and my office, who work every day to stop them.”

Mohamud made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Cowan Wright on Oct. 7.

He told the judge he did not have a job, own a house or a car or have any money in the bank. He was represented by Siri Carlson McDowell, a federal public defender.

The case is being prosecuted by Trial Attorney Ryan White of the National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section and Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin Bejar for the District of Minnesota.
