Pakistan: Ahmadi Mosque Vandalized by Police During Ramadan

…Imam Gill is the President of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at Community (AMJ) (“jama’at” meaning “community”) in Argentina. AMJ is a messianic Islamic religious movement, which some other Muslim clerics and theologians consider non-Islamic and heterodox and some Islamic countries persecute for heresy. In fact, Ahmadis strictly abide by the five pillars of the Islamic religion.
Any aggressive violation of their freedom to respect one of the obligatory Islamic commandments is lived by Ahmadis as a severe abuse against their religious identity, is performed by perpetrators in scorn of Ahmadis’ belief, and should be regarded by the international community as an intolerable infringement of the principle of religious liberty and Ahmadis’ human rights. And in case intemperate perpetrators are other Muslims who consider Ahmadis to be non-Muslim, it is also a grave example of the use of violent means, including ferocity, fury, and brutality, to arbitrarily influence and control a religious group.
For this reason, it is seriously insulting that on March 24 and 25, 2023, the local police in Kalra Kalan, a village in the Gujrat District, Punjab, Pakistan, razed the minarets and the dome of the local Ahmadiyya mosque to the ground, exactly during Ramadan. (The English transliteration from the Urdu language of the name of the village is also spelled “Karla Kalan” and should not be confused with Karla Kalan, in Madhya Pradesh, India, as well as Punjab province in Pakistan should not be confused with Punjab state in India).
Pictures of this act of vandalism were provided by the International Human Rights Committee, a non-profit and non-governmental organization focusing on freedom of religion or belief based in London, and clearly show the police acting with disdain and disregard.
Evidently, this act of persecution was performed by the public authorities and the law enforcement officers of an Islamic country during a highly significant Islamic period of the year to underline and show that Ahmadis should not be considered as true Islamic believers, and their places of worship deserve only contempt and destruction rather than respect. It is in fact noteworthy that all took place during a month that Islamic people consider holy and non-Islamic people are asked not to vilify….

The Nigerian Army personnel appear to have resumed invasion and burning of communities in Imo State to provoke another season of unrest in the South East.
SaharaReporters reliably gathered that troops of the Nigerian military on Sunday, during Easter celebrations invaded Orsu-Ihiteukwa, Orsu local government area of Imo State and burnt down Ekeututu International Market after looting shops.
Community sources told SaharaReporters on Tuesday that the soldiers numbering more than 200 with armoured vehicles invaded the community while people were still in various churches attending Sunday Mass and services in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
One of the sources said, “On Sunday morning, Nigerian soldiers invaded Orsu-Ihiteukwa, my community and went to our ancestral market Ekeututu International Market and broke into shops owned by individual traders and businessmen and women, looted and set same ablaze.
“They were shooting sporadically when they invaded which saw people running helter skelter for their dear lives, some who went to church almost got trapped inside the church as they could not leave for fear of being killed.”
Lamenting the destruction and burning down of ancestry market after looting, another witness said, “This is one operation too many that has been going on in my community and little or nothing is heard about it. Personnel of the Nigerian military have become terrorists in my community and Imo State,” he added.
“Jihadist Fulani herdsmen are killing hundreds and sacking communities in Benue state on daily basis and other Christian Communities in the North Central, they have not done anything but every other day Nigeria military have turned their guns weapons on Igbo Communities. Now while their Fulani jihadist herdsmen are evaporating Communities in North Central and Nigerian are doing same in South East.”
This sounds a lot like genocide to me. This is Islam, where you can't tell the difference between terrorists and the military. This is the ideology that King Charles III wants to celebrate in Britain.
The source stated that because of outcry of atrocious activities carried out in Orsu LGA and neighbouring communities, the military and other state actors stopped attacking the people until recently they resumed attack for no justifiable reasons.
“Earlier last month people’s living houses and shops where set ablaze including vehicles in the community including Ekeututu international market and its environs.
“This method of operation by the military is anything other than fight against banditry and insurgence. How can the military be destroying people’s homes and businesses including lives of innocent people and looting goods and properties and they tag it fight against banditry and insurgence.
“We have always said that we are not against fighting insurgents but in doing so we expect the military to act professionally and observe the rules of engagement. The situation where the military kill, loot and destroy lives and properties at will is unacceptable.
“Imagine a military operation carried out on Sunday the resurrection of Christ is being celebrated in a predominantly Christian community is to say the least a sacrilege.
“So, please we are facing existential crisis and threat and we need the whole world to hear about it. This story is verifiable, it’s not fake, it’s not propaganda nor a scam. I personally have suffered loses both in human and material worth.
“We need this to stop and it’s largely because nothing is heard about the military atrocities committed in Orsu-ihiteukwa in particular and Orsu LGA in general that is why the act is ongoing. Even as I send this text, the military is still in my community Orsu-ihiteukwa since yesterday….

Selling Music Cassettes and Foreign Drama Series Banned in Herat

The selling of music cassettes and foreign drama series have been banned by the department of Vice and Virtue in the western province of Herat.
The officials said that the cassettes and drama series were non-Islamic materials and thus they prevented them from being sold.
“There were things that in contradiction with Islam such as women without Hijab and other things. Thus they were banned,” said Aziz Rahman Mahajar, head of the provincial department of vice and virtue.
It has been nearly 10-days since the shops of video and audio cassettes were closed.
“We completely removed whatever they indicated. We have suffered heavy financial losses,” said Fakhruddin Jami, a shopkeeper….
The market is now selling only Islamic video and audio cassettes.

If Christians had been rioting over desecration of the Bible, you can be sure that Katia Elliott would have readily acknowledged that the riots had to do with religion. But as a good Leftist, she has imbibed the idea that one must never, ever say anything that could even possibly be construed as critical of Islam, no matter what the circumstances. For Leftists, denying reality in a ridiculous way is preferable to appearing to criticize Islam.

MEDIA. It has not been made clear that the Koran riots were in any way connected to religion, clarified SVT’s presenter Katia Elliott on “Aktuellt.”
On Tuesday evening, “Aktuellt” had a feature on Carola’s critical comments about Swedish multiculturalism.
To discuss the issue of immigration, the state television giant had invited two guests: the Greek-Swedish leftist journalist Leonidas Aretakis and the Afghan ex-policeman Mustafa Panshiri.
The former was critical of Carola’s comments, while the latter showed a little more understanding of the criticism of immigration policy.
One of the comments that Carola made in the attention-grabbing interview with Svenska Dagbladet concerned Muslims. It “is in their scriptures that it is okay to lie to unbelievers,” she noted.
Panshiri brought up the quote and when talking about the Koran riots last Easter.
“It is clear that what happened during Easter a year ago had to do with religion,” he said.
However, this claim was apparently so strong that SVT’s presenter Katia Elliott felt compelled to comment on the matter at the end of the discussion.
“There are many explanations for the Easter riots. Some would say they are religious, others not, I just want to say,” she clarified.
It sounds to me like she had the producer screaming in her ear to say something, no matter how stupid.
